Hotel was faultless. In great location in the quiet leafy area of the Aventine Hill, still about ten minutes walk from the centre. The decor of the hotel is incredible.
Romantic, luxurious, Pampering
The friendliness helpfullness and openess of the staff nothing
Everything was perfect.
The staff were polite and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable, with lovely decor. There was no free Wifi. There was a fee to access the internet.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was good, only ten minute walk from the collessum. it was close to town yet you could not here the hussle and bussle. the rooms were comfortable, clean and really quiet, no noise from the rooms next door. wonderful athmosphere, good breakfast. just really pleasant
The decoration of rooms was great
The hotel was an amazing place in a quiet residential neigbourhood on the Aventine Hills in the south of Rome central (and only a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station). The rooms were quite small, but they were decorated with luxury. The hotel breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff was helpfull. The setting was very romantic and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was nearby to some of the greatest restaurants (trattorias) we experienced in Rome, so the location of this hotel should also please other culinarists. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to relax in luxury after a hectic day sighseeing in Rome.
Staff was very helpful. Location was central.
The hotel staff were warm and accommodating upon arrival. The hotel itself was perfect for our first couple of nights in Italy with it's well appointed rooms, Italian decor and quaint outside terrace where we had our breakfast and drinks. The gentleman at the desk was more than helpful in booking a tour and arranging taxis. Have already recommended this hotel to friends in Italy who were visiting Rome at the same time.
A good quiet room with a good location Restaurant not open and breakfast was a shambles. therefore overpriced.
the central location, close to most of the main historic sights, very clean and new accommadation ,staff allways helpfull. none
very central for walking to and from city centre, also walking distance to Trastevere.
It was perfectly positioned for exploring Rome I enquired about returning in October with my wife, I would not pay the full rate of 340 euros per night, so it looks like Prague
Location, Location, Location! Location for value was unbeatable! Maybe a little more hominess - but that is just to be critical. The rooms the location and the staff were off the charts!!!
fantastic loaction - walking distance to many sites
New hotel with in a very good location. Also includes a very good restaurtant.
Brilliant location - within walking distance of all the landmarks except the Vatican. Given an upgrade on check-in but the room was a huge disappointment. 2 single beds on mezzanine floor, a double sofa bed downstairs with a hard frame, one bedside table and no bedside lights. But happily Reception did move us next morning.
Extremely clean rooms, garden tables for dining outside were delightful, breakfast & lunch meals were local and wonderfully presented We couldn't understand dinner - we waited to be seated but were ignored - it seemed to be some sort of happy hour/buffet/private function despite the menu being visible on a board. Only one conceirge was helpful/knowledgable with regard sightseeing directions.
The hotel is really near everything ( coliseum, testevere, vatican (25 min walking), piazza novona ( 25 min walking ). Great staff and really polite. The bathroom is a like smaller, but it works
It is a newly decorated hotel. Excellent decoration at rooms, excellent decoration at restaurents on roof and at floor 1. Excellent breakfast Location is 5-10 minutes from Plaza Venece, but still it is 30 minutes walking from mid - city
The location of the Hotel. The service staff particularly in the reception area, and the fact that breakfast was included (not a small thing in Europe) The price for an additional bed in the bedroom where my 3 kids stayed, came out to almost what it would cost to have an additional room.
Efficiency, great room, good food, cool in hot weather
Large rooms, good location, kind staff, nice breakfast
Lovely peaceful location and pleasant staff. Good breakfast buffet. A rather tired hotel- not quite as it once was I suspect.
The tranquility of the location None
Excellent location, beautiful hotel, wonderful breakfast, helpful staff, very clean hotel, spacious room. This has been very common on our trip to italy but the bed was rather hard. To others this might not be an issue.
Very friendly staff, always smiling. Excellent, quiet location very near the old city center, only a 10 minute walk. It was a very nice respite from the busy, crowded city. Beautiful setting with palm trees and gardens. Very quiet.
Nice quiet entry, nice garden. Very small room and bathroom
We liked the location and its proximity to downtown Rome and to a few good restaurants. We liked the peace and quiet it offers in a big city like Rome. We couldn't find any tv channels not in Italian. The hotel of this calibre should have at least one channel in English like cnn or bbc or similar. We could watch the news for over a week. We also think a newspaper of choice should be delivered to the room every morning.
Excellent, excellent hotel! I wish I had known about this hotel on previous visits to Rome. The hotel is located on Aventino hill in an affluent, quiet residential area. Very charming hotel and in terms of quality, I would say it's on par with many pricier American hotels! Public transportation is a short walk away, as are local shops and farmacies. They have a very nice dining area and for breakfast they provided an excellent array of choices. Some of the staff were so nice, while others had an air about them, but overall the staff were accomodating and professional. The price we paid (peak season) was an absolute steal. Upon arrival, the hotel claimed to not have our reservation. They made arrangements for us to stay at a sister hotel close by but were then going to make us return to this hotel after 2 days. Needless to say I was not pleased with this arrangement. In the end, they found room for us for the entire stay and interestingly enough, knew the contracted rate and length of stay (I provided the reservation code). I don't know whose mistake this was, but it all resolved to satisfaction.
Very good service. Very good breakfast in a quiet peaceful and pretty setting. The location is not central to tourist sites and is a 15 minute walk to the metro. But we chose it for the peaceful setting.
good breakfast - pleasant room - location fine no bath
would stay again. great staff. great A/C
Room was big and comfortable
I liked at the hotel was so close to the Colosseum and that it was quiet during the afternoon That it didnt have extra blankets, it was cold during the night
The staff were very helpful and friendly The fact that there was no facilities in the room for coffee/tea making or room service, got a bit thirsty from early evening to morning!
smell of mould in the room and lots of dust along the floor edge. very basic breakfast for the price.
the location is excellent. they provide trasfer from/to airport for 50 EUR
quiet location beds are too small
Reception and Breakfast Room staff were courteous and friendly, really appreciated that I was allowed to check in early on the morning or my arrival. The room was exceptionally small and was adjacent to a school, so it was a little noisy during the day.
The Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was a problem. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Location is good. Good Hotel. Staff are nice and effective. Very limited TV channels.
The hotel is very convenient and yet very, very quiet. It is for the quiet that I return to this area of Rome when I visit. The hotel is comfortable and clean. The breakfast room is pleasant, the food good, and the staff very helpful and friendly. Our room had a small terrace which was very pleasant as it is located within an enclosed garden. The lack of an elevator is the main problem for me. We were also disappointed not to be able to sit in the garden terrace as a small group after a day of meetings.
The location. Very quiet residential neighborhood. A/C worked great. Included Continental Breakfast and a very good coffee. Excellent front desk staff. Walking distance to many tourist sights (we walked to the Spanish Steps from the hotel; it took only 30-40 minutes) No stress trying to figure out the public transit system. On our way back, we stopped at Trevi fountain that is under restoration, Pantheon, the famous Giolitti Gelateria, and Mouth of Truth. Many reviewers commented about having to climb a steep hill to get to the hotel; not a problem for us. Viale Aventino street at the bottom of the hill, we found several grocery stores, and many restaurants. We discovered a very nice restaurant called the Corner. The executive chef Fabio greeted us and explained each course served. What a service!! We also found many restaurants across Tiber River in Trastevere district; it's about 15 minutes walk from the hotel; head north and cross the Palatino bridge. You can get a panorama view of the city from Santa Sabina that is about 5 minute walk from the hotel. Transportation service to the airport for additional fee (We had 6:30 AM flight, so driver picked us up at the hotel around 4AM in Mercedes SUV) It was worth the extra 7 Euros for the convenience. We'll definitely stay at Hotel Domus Aventia in the future. The internet service was spotty at times in our room, but I also experienced poor WiFi service at a $400 a night hotel. To remedy the slow WiFi service, hangout at the lobby area.
I picked this hotel mainly for the price and location. What I got was a real treat. It's a 15 minute walk to the Arch of Constantine, Colosseum and Roman Forum. On the way, you pass the Bocca dela Veritate, Circus Maximus, The Palatino. Walk even further you'll reach the Vittorio Emmanuel ii memorial. The hotel is in the quaint Travestere area, where walking around will get you to all these great restos and gelaterias. The historic Fiumi Tevere is just across the road. And there's even a Catholic Church, San Benedetto a Piscincula right beside it where the priests are dressed in tunics and boots making them look like knights. The people at the front desk are quite helpful, orienting you to the sites nearby. Really enjoyed my stay! For one thing there was no wifi available in the hotel. I had seen a website (not the hotel's) that had stated it was available at this hotel. Other than that, I was ok with everything.
staff and breakfast rooms are a bit small
good location, friendly. 24 hr doorman. Be on your toes when you pay the bill- they tried to add 40 euros unexpectedly. Also requested a wake-up call that never happened. Bathroom was dirty with a broken toilet seat.
The staff were wonderful - friendly, welcoming and helpful. It made my stay feel like a home-from-home experience and added to my overall enjoyment of my holiday.
Fantastic, quiet location in Trastevere. Paper-thin walls mean you can here everything from rooms next door.
Staff is extremely courteous and friendly, hotel is clean, very convenient location in Trastevere. This hotel is very affordable for Rome. Rooms are teeny tiny, beds are uncomfortable, bedding and decor is shabby, and I've been in phone booths bigger than the shower! Skip the continental breakfast - stale cereal and instant coffee.
The intimate atmosphere of this beautiful corner in historic Trastevere and the fact that the breakfast was included (despite my booking not explicitly mentioning so), made up for the fact that the room was rather small.
The location of the hotel made it easy to walk to places like Campo d' Fiori. The staff was amazingly helpful, they allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel when we went to Florence for a night which was immensely helpful. the airconditioner was really noisy, and also the walls are extremely thin and we could hear the people next door snoring, whistling and yelling. We also got reprimanded for whispering at 11 pm by the guest next door.
The staff were very helpful. The location was very central and safe. It was good to be in an old Italian building. I loved room 23 where I stayed for the first nights. But I did not like room 20 where I stayed for the last night; it is too small to be used as a hotel room. It was very uncomfortable. It was the only thing I did not like in this hotel.
nil. The breakfast was very basic and consisted of pre packaged croissants. The heating was turned off during the day and put on a timer which could not be overridden. If you returned to the room early you had to put up witha cold room until the heating turned on. The showewr was far too small. threre was no room to be able to comfortably wash yourself. The room was very small and for women there was no hairdryer. For acomparable price one could get a much better accomodation within metrs of the hotel
This guest house is absolutely marvelous. The location in area of Trastevere is perfect. 10 min to Piazza di Venecia, 20-30 min on foot to other tourist points, it was very convenient. The interior of Arco Dei Tolomei is perfect! Everything was clean and beautiful. Each detail was carefully chosen. It was a real aesthetic pleasure to stay in there! Breakfast was excellent. Marco and his staff couldn't be more helpful! We are accepted very hearty and really felt like home. All the advices Marco and Katia gave us were very useful. Use their recommendations, you will not regret. Due to their advices we saw and experienced Rome that we never would do ourselves. I and my wife want ti thank Marco one more time for unforgetable stay. Everything was perfect
Perfect location, quiet area but within walking distance from major attractions. Friendly management, they make you feel at home. There was no fridge in the kitchen that was provided for common use. Also, in the annex where we stayed, the room window is at street level so we had to keep it closed all the time.
Wonderful breakfast and chance to chat with other guests around the giant dining table.
Nice room with really comfortable bed and lovely private balcony. Very warm hospitality and a location that can't be beat!
The location is attractive and convenient - a few steps from the river bank and almost equidistant between the Forum/colosseum area and the Vatican - easy walking to both. The Guest house is a gracious and elegant family home with a very attentive host and well trained team of helpers. The bed was divinely comfortable and the service impeccable.
first the situation it's very near the historical center, you can go eveywhere walking. The very beautiful area, the hotal gives on a small theater like place wiht old houses painted yellow and red. The silent, no noise at all either in the hotel or in the area. The old style hotel decoration. The very good welcoming. In fact it's a perfect place, and i will probably go back
