Very clean. Staff friendly. Location next to colosseum was superb, would definately visit again
The hotel staff was excellent. Our loft was two blocks from the main hotel and could easily have been walk-able but the hotel had a cab take us and luggage to the loft as well as arranged for us to be picked up again and returned to the hotel the next morning. The view from the hotel terrace was spectacular. The Roman Colosseum was right across the street and made a lovely backdrop for our wonderful dinner. The loft apt. that we stayed in was stunning and the 4 of us were very comfortable staying there. Our stay at Hotel Gladiatori was the last night of our two week Italy visit and it made for the perfect ending to a wonderful trip.
The view of the colosseum from our room The rooftop terrace for breakfast, drinks, light lunch etc is a wonderful place to hang out. The staff were friendly, professional and welcoming. The Metro runs along the street underground. The noise and the vibration were very disruptive at night especially on the lower floors. So ask for rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors. They said that they complained to the city to do something.
The staff was professional and courteous. The room was a good size and very pleasant with an excellent view. The rooftop dining was excellent. none
Brekfast, view from terrace
Recently renovated and very modern. This was our first experience with a Bed and Breakfast and found it to be a wonderful alternative. You loose some amenities like a business center or gym but you receive a much more personalized and comfortable experience. They were very helpful in making reservations and general assistance. This was our first international traveling experience and they were very accommodating at all hours of the day/night. They provide a beautiful continental breakfast on their rooftop restaurant that overlooks the coliseum. The only concern is that their restaurant is very high end and when you look for eggs or any items that supplement the free continental breakfast, it can be very expensive.
Pretty much everything. Nothing
Great location next to the Colosseum. Friendly, helpful staff. Loft is spacious and suit for a family. Loft was located 5 min from the main hotel.
amazing Colosseum view, a wonderful restaurant and definetelly a beautiful place to stay i was expecting a bit more of housekeeping in the room
The view of the Colusseum from the hotel room and rooftop restaurant was breathtaking.
Staff were very accomadating and made our stay a relaxing one. Hotel gives the impression of having more luxury on website than actual during visit. Room alot smaller than expected and dining facilities poor.
Great location, beds were comfy, rooms were nice.
We were upgraded from the annex to the main building so can't comment on the annex. A very simple but good quality breakfast served each morning. The decor and furnishings very tasteful, comfortable bed. The location is terrific, and the local restaurants seemed like they were there for the locals not just tourists. The hotel is small and compact as was the room. The room lacked natural light, and the shower was a bit on the small side, but manageable.
The front desk staff was exceptional. The interior design was beautiful, the location was absolutely perfect - right next to the metro and colosseum. There were many (well priced) local shops and restaurants, but there weren't too many other tourists. They had great wireless internet connection as well. The only thing we were not very impressed about was that there was construction happening on the roof above our room - which was fine during regular hours, but one moring we wanted to sleep in and it had started at 7:30 (hammering right above our heads). All else was great, however.
Hotel staff, dislocation room
The location of the hotel was great, just a few hundered metres away from the collosium. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Location was perfect! It was clean and staff was friendly although sometimes service was slow because staff appeared to be limited. Although the hotel was quite adequate and I would stay there again for location alone, it was not exactly up to the standard I would expect for the price that was paid.
The english speaking staff were very helpful. Room very pleasent and the hotel is in atmospheric part of the city no.
The fact that the staff were always available, very polite with a pleasant disposition, and helpful.
The room was very good, good breakfast and it is near metro station. na
New hotel with in a very good location. Also includes a very good restaurtant.
Location, Location, Location! Location for value was unbeatable! Maybe a little more hominess - but that is just to be critical. The rooms the location and the staff were off the charts!!!
fantastic loaction - walking distance to many sites
It was perfectly positioned for exploring Rome I enquired about returning in October with my wife, I would not pay the full rate of 340 euros per night, so it looks like Prague
Extremely clean rooms, garden tables for dining outside were delightful, breakfast & lunch meals were local and wonderfully presented We couldn't understand dinner - we waited to be seated but were ignored - it seemed to be some sort of happy hour/buffet/private function despite the menu being visible on a board. Only one conceirge was helpful/knowledgable with regard sightseeing directions.
the central location, close to most of the main historic sights, very clean and new accommadation ,staff allways helpfull. none
A good quiet room with a good location Restaurant not open and breakfast was a shambles. therefore overpriced.
very central for walking to and from city centre, also walking distance to Trastevere.
Brilliant location - within walking distance of all the landmarks except the Vatican. Given an upgrade on check-in but the room was a huge disappointment. 2 single beds on mezzanine floor, a double sofa bed downstairs with a hard frame, one bedside table and no bedside lights. But happily Reception did move us next morning.
The hotel is really near everything ( coliseum, testevere, vatican (25 min walking), piazza novona ( 25 min walking ). Great staff and really polite. The bathroom is a like smaller, but it works
I loved just everyting about the Forum hotel, fantastic staff, warm reception and lovely food - what more could you ask for no - just everything was fantastic
Fabulous location. Great rooftop terrace. Staff is not especially friendly. We were never able to get our "free" drinks at the American Bar.
The location is nice. I use to travel extensively for work, and I can tell you it is the worst value for money hotel I have ever stayed in. The room had the tiniest bed I ever saw and the TV screen very small. It could be cleaner. It had a very modest breakfast with little choices. The receptionist was really rude.
A good view of Roman Forum from the room. A good restaurant and service. Breakfast can be a little bit better but fresh orange juice was nice.
central location the restaurant was above us, and we couldn!t sleep all night, because of the noise.
The location is excellent, and the view from the restaurant is one of the best in Rome. Staff were excellent.
The staff was very friendly and was very efficient to answer all our questions. The hotel it self is beautiful and the view is fantastic. The location of the hotel is perfect.
Superb location, RIGHT next to The Forum, just blocks from The Colosseum and adjacent to several restaurants. Standard rooms run a bit small, as all classic European hotels do, but was clean n cozy and felt like home in no time. Top floor restaurant was good and panoramic view was excellent. The true gem at this hotel, however, was the amazing staff, who were all pleasant and helpful and genuinely offered hospitality every single time I came into contact with any of them. Definitely a smaller, boutique style property but the excellent staff n superb location make Hotel Forum top notch. Recommended. Would stay again.
Everything we expected we got and then some. Food is excellent. The roof top bar was a delight at sunset. The staff was more than helpful in every way. Wish I could remember their names, they're first class. Location is great. The only con we had was the mattress was very stiff.
The standard of the cuisine and the ambience of the rooftop bar
The location of the Forum is truly outstanding. The family room is great for a family of 4 and the restaurant is lovely - great food and great view The wifi network doesn't work and is expensive if it did.
Unique atmosphere of the hotel at the center of Rome
It is a newly decorated hotel. Excellent decoration at rooms, excellent decoration at restaurents on roof and at floor 1. Excellent breakfast Location is 5-10 minutes from Plaza Venece, but still it is 30 minutes walking from mid - city
The location of the Hotel. The service staff particularly in the reception area, and the fact that breakfast was included (not a small thing in Europe) The price for an additional bed in the bedroom where my 3 kids stayed, came out to almost what it would cost to have an additional room.
Large rooms, good location, kind staff, nice breakfast
Efficiency, great room, good food, cool in hot weather
Great location next to the Colleseum. Excellent access to metro and bus. Walking distance from most major sights. Clean, comfortable rooms.
nothing The room was small, there was mold on the wall in the bathroom, the bathroom facilities were very cramped, shower almost unusable, stains on the wall paper that was also pealing off due to age, bedding not clean, the breakfast was not even worth the fact that it was included in the price, the internet conection was ok and the only thing that made it worth paying for was to find another hotel...
Central location, near to major historical sites. Breakfast availability. Reception staff not always quick to respond, though generally helpful.
very central within walking distance to most tourist destinations.
Polite helpful staff, clean room, no-smoking hotel, location close to metro and sights.
This hotel has a warm, personal feel with an excellent location just blocks from the Colosseum. The staff was incredible, the free breakfast was delicious and the accommodations were pristine. The staff gave us recommendations of the best places to visit and let us access the beautiful rooftop garden. It felt like a little bit of a home away from home and a haven from the tourist craziness of Rome. The only downside of the hotel is that the elevators and showers are small. My husband is a lean 6 feet and was cramped in the shower.
the hotel staff was very kind It was a not smoking hotel
My daughter and I stayed just one night at the Caesar House. It was an easy walk from the train and well located near the Colluseum. The staff there was accessible and amazingly helpful. The breakfast was abundant and delicious. We highly recommend it.
The personal level of services was outstanding. I felt as if I was staying with family. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Lack of wifi in the rooms but a cable was provided upon request
good location poor breakfast
Good location, basic accomodation, well maintained and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Dreadful wifi connection.
The staff were charming and helpful, and the location (within minutes' walk of the Forum and the Colosseum) excellent.
Very good situation of the hotel, good breakfast in your room, very clean, quiet, beautiful furniture, polite service
very nice and quiet room. basic breakfast.
great location. On a noisy road
The owner and Rosanna were very helpful. That is the best thing of all. The owner suggested a small museum that was a pure delight. The room was comfortable and large and tastefully furnished. They needed written instructions for the remote controls. They quickly review the instructions on two different remotes; however, the night clerk nor I could figure out how to change the language to English. They need a hook for a towel outside of the shower not across the room from it. Otherwise all was lovely.
staff were charming and helpful. breakfast is brought to the room. beside the forum and colleseum. brilliant location no bar or dining room.
Only hotel staff, Breakfast was nothing, under zero...
Location, in case if you like to go around the center by foot. Damp, dark and noisy room, which need refreshing.
its location is excellent! they charged double room used by two the entire week when it was single use the last 4 nights.
Especially the roof terrasse
Location, friendliness of staff, details like the shaving foam (travel size) in bathroom Missing: more space in room to store belongings & larger working desk
comfort and location
Location and price No bar or evening restaurant
Hotel Richmond is good situated The very first impression is somehow unpleasant: the entrance to the hotel is incredible tight and you can breath immediately how old fashioned everything is. The hotel rooms on the street side are not confortable at all: noisy, very old standard, shower and WC were not working properly, you can hear the TV of your neighbour as it would be your own one. We saw also two hotel rooms on the back side, they just were a "black hole" with very little windows (dark!) with no view at all. The breakfast terrasse (there is no alternative!!!) might be very nice during the sommer. We were there in October and it was just very cold. It was not funny and very unconfortable to sit in the morning on those cold metal chairs without pads....
Although the hotel needs some updating, the staff and location made up for this, and the breakfast was lovely on the rooftop terrace. The view over the Roman forum from my room was priceless! I had emailed the hotel prior to our visit for some information regarding the Pope's audience, and they were so helpful. Once we got there, the service was excellent. As mentioned previously, some of the rooms need updating. It really wouldn't cost much just to re-wallpaper the room I was in. The rooms are also quite small. However , the facilities were all there and I was hardly in the room anyway!
It has a perfect location. Easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go and close access Great location, close to attractions and the train station. The staff were fantastic, full of useful information(great coffee recommendation) and helpful with transfers etc The room was a little 'tired' but impeccibly clean and a great firm bed with wonderful fresh linen.
Location is great. Very close to Coloseum and Forum. Room was quite small. Bathroom needs renovation. Beds were really uncomfortable.
Lovely people, quiet, within walking distance of everything in ancient Rome, fair price and nearby restaurants Need more or brighter lights in bedroom and one English channel on the TV. Also, my blackberry wouldn't work there, but not hotel's fault - the ancient city didn't work well at all until we were out in the open areas.
The hotel was in an amazing location - best I've stayed in in any city. Staff were helpful and friendly without being overpowering. The rooms are a very decent 3-4* standard and spotlessly clean. Also the air con was just perfect - especially in the 30 degree heat! The showers were a little small - but then, so am I...
The staff were wonderful. The stay also included a great breakfast. The location was also fantastic. The rooms could do with a spruce up. The decor / fittings are worn.
Facilities aren't 5 star, but the hotel staff are. They are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, the rooms clean and the location excellent. Between rooms, walls are quite thin and you can hear the people next door flushing their toilet. Woke us up a couple of times at early hours.
Excellent location of hotel - in the center of Ancient Rome. The design of hotel inside too was very interesting. The hotel staff was very kind and attentive. The room was pure and clean. In many respects thanks to it my stay in Rome was very fine and surprising.
Only the location of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to others only because of its location, nothing else. 1) Space to move around the room, especially the bathroom/toilet extremely small 2) No proper breakfast provided (limited) even though they say bed & breakfast 3) In some rooms of the hotel no internet access, even though they say that internet access is available throughout the hotel. 4) Not a single english channel on tv except CNN and BBC was provided to guests
It's location, staff were very helpful and it had free wireless Intrernet upon request. Maybe the smallest shower I have ever seen, however it was clean and great value for the money.
Location of the hotel and helpfulness of the staff. 1. Too small bathtub. Could hardly stand inside! 2. No internet in 2nd floor.
the location was excellent and the shower was good no reception , breakfast was awful street noise was unbearable
Hotel was ok for a one night stay. Very noisy
Location was excellent for visiting ancient Rome. A homely bed and breakfast feeling. Lucia the owner was very friendly. Noise of street gets very invasive. We could only sleep wearing earplugs. Tv was too small and had only Italian broadcasts.
excellent service, very nice and friendly reception desk, tasty and plenty of breakfast in the morning
The room was really noisy because of the loud traffic.
quiet location beds are too small
I liked at the hotel was so close to the Colosseum and that it was quiet during the afternoon That it didnt have extra blankets, it was cold during the night
Location is good. Good Hotel. Staff are nice and effective. Very limited TV channels.
Room was big and comfortable
The staff were very helpful and friendly The fact that there was no facilities in the room for coffee/tea making or room service, got a bit thirsty from early evening to morning!
Reception and Breakfast Room staff were courteous and friendly, really appreciated that I was allowed to check in early on the morning or my arrival. The room was exceptionally small and was adjacent to a school, so it was a little noisy during the day.
the location is excellent. they provide trasfer from/to airport for 50 EUR
The Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was a problem. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
smell of mould in the room and lots of dust along the floor edge. very basic breakfast for the price.
The location. Very quiet residential neighborhood. A/C worked great. Included Continental Breakfast and a very good coffee. Excellent front desk staff. Walking distance to many tourist sights (we walked to the Spanish Steps from the hotel; it took only 30-40 minutes) No stress trying to figure out the public transit system. On our way back, we stopped at Trevi fountain that is under restoration, Pantheon, the famous Giolitti Gelateria, and Mouth of Truth. Many reviewers commented about having to climb a steep hill to get to the hotel; not a problem for us. Viale Aventino street at the bottom of the hill, we found several grocery stores, and many restaurants. We discovered a very nice restaurant called the Corner. The executive chef Fabio greeted us and explained each course served. What a service!! We also found many restaurants across Tiber River in Trastevere district; it's about 15 minutes walk from the hotel; head north and cross the Palatino bridge. You can get a panorama view of the city from Santa Sabina that is about 5 minute walk from the hotel. Transportation service to the airport for additional fee (We had 6:30 AM flight, so driver picked us up at the hotel around 4AM in Mercedes SUV) It was worth the extra 7 Euros for the convenience. We'll definitely stay at Hotel Domus Aventia in the future. The internet service was spotty at times in our room, but I also experienced poor WiFi service at a $400 a night hotel. To remedy the slow WiFi service, hangout at the lobby area.
The hotel is very convenient and yet very, very quiet. It is for the quiet that I return to this area of Rome when I visit. The hotel is comfortable and clean. The breakfast room is pleasant, the food good, and the staff very helpful and friendly. Our room had a small terrace which was very pleasant as it is located within an enclosed garden. The lack of an elevator is the main problem for me. We were also disappointed not to be able to sit in the garden terrace as a small group after a day of meetings.
Everything was great would stay again Only negative was the beds were really hard
Good location, walking distance to all the major attractions, we even walked all the way to the Vatican however I was sooo tired afterward. Excellent service from staff, good restaurant recommendations and friently overall. Good rooms, a little on the small side but sufficient. Nice modern bathrooms. Breakfast was a dissapointment, not much variety and nothing hot or warm served. We were given a room on the ground floor and apparently next to the kitchen or prep area and were awoken early every morning by the clatter of dishes.
