Pros: Homely & clean Great location Friendly Good breakfast
Cons: It was all good
4.6 Okay
Pros: Sea view was good from room. Good Breakfast.
Cons: Very old decor throughout. 100% not a hotel, its a B&B. Bad dirt road for access. No free access, main entrance is always locked. Owners live on site and are very funny about who comes in and out. Very odd feel to the place in general.
9.2 Excellent

Cons: Road was muddy and bumpy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts and staff; perfect location; beautiful building.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cosy place! The hotel is isolated along the shore, very quiet. The owners helped us with maps to find it easily. We stayed one night and we enjoyed the atmosphere, the cute decoration, and the room with a view on the sea and on the golf course. The staff is kind and helpful. We were pleased to have a very good English breakfast prepared by the owner.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fab brekky and super quiet seaside location. Great place for couples and will bring my wife next time.
Cons: Could have done with a table fan in the room as a bit stuffy in hot weather. A grab handle in the shower would make older/infirm guests feel somewhat safer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very comfortable and hospitable stay would stay there again
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Despite the cold & blustery weather the hotel and staff were warm & accommodating. Lisa runs a tight ship so everything is very much on time and in good order. The dinner was most interesting. The food was excellent although the atmosphere was very conservative. I would have preferred a more relaxed style of dining.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic. The room was lovely - bathroom a tad small but were offered a room with bigger bathroom though not with sea view - opted for sea view. Didn't regret it. The evening meal was wonderful.
Cons: The bedroom curtains could have been thicker as the early morning light, lovely though it was, shone brightly in and woke us earlier than preferred. They would be fine for early risers which we are not!

Cons: There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit, choice of yogurts, well cooked full English and large cafeteria of coffee.
Cons: Small cramped bedroom with inadequate storage especially when you needed somewhere to store the cushions and bedspread. It was an exceptionally hot night and the room could not be adequately ventilated by leaving the window and lights on as it attracted all types of insects. Also when my wife pulled back the quilt there was a dead insect attached to the quilt. The very small television had a diminished screen and no access to BBC 1 & 2
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was most welcoming the location was just lovely and peaceful the room and beds where top notch. All in all just perfect

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy and ideally located
Cons: Nothing
6.7 Good
Pros: Location was good and spotlessly clean.
Cons: The parking was inconvenient as one had no option but to use the public carpark where charges are applied between 8.0am and 6.0pm. The room we were allocated on the top floor was reached by 33 stairs as no lift. The hand held shower on tap cradle was difficult to use and one had to climb into the bath which for us was difficult being senior people. More substantial handrails would have been helpful as would have been a rubber mat to stand on in the bath. Definitely not suitable for eldery people.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the accommodation a lot on our roamings, we stayed for one night. Richard was very helpful, the room clean, the bed comfy. Thumbs up!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spotlessly clean. Great location and very comfortable. Nice spacious room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was light, airy and spotlessly clean. Richard and his partner/wife (I didn’t catch her name) were polite, friendly and welcoming. The location is at the end of High Street, within walking distance of both the beach and the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway. I booked in for ‘bed’ not ‘bed and breakfast’, if you do the same I’d suggest the very nearby Lashings Cafe for great coffee and breakfast. I’d certainly recommended it, but hope it doesn’t blow my chances of getting a room there again for myself.
Cons: The place fulfilled all my hopes and requirements.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: did not take breakfast...location was perfect for everything
Cons: nothing

6.7 Good
Pros: The Area

Cons: No complaints from us.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Very clean . Great pub food and breakfast.
Cons: Bed a little uncomfortable and very noisy, could hear adjacent bedroom conversation and everytime they walked over floor boards we heard every step.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Staff friendly
Cons: Traffic noise up till 10 o’clock then started again 6.30 am .room was small not the same as on the booking site .no wardrobe to hang anything up.breakfast was ok.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The staff were very friendly and willing.
Cons: The whole place was very run down, the bathroom was clean but very tired. The beds were uncomfortable. The room was too hot, but opening the window meant you had traffic noise. As a coeliac, I had confirmed they could cater for me, but the breakfast offering was only gluten free bread, and cooked breakfast, which was fine, but as someone who doesn’t eat a cooked breakfast to have no fruit, yogurt, or cold options was not great.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and good atmosphere in the bar
Cons: Only 1 bedside table
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were terrific!! And the food great!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Red Lion is in a great location. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. The room was huge with great facilities.
5.7 Okay
Pros: The warm welcome of the staff. The food was very good and the bar area very pleasant.
Cons: When we arrived The Red Lion was closed until 6pm (we arrived at about 5pm). There was no one to greet us at reception. There was an envelope with our key in it with our room number. There was another envelope for another later arrival. Just seemed a bit 'unfriendly'.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome; very helpful and sympathetic staff when I was a little ill. Very good food.
5.0 Okay
Pros: We were quite late arriving but our room was kept for us
Cons: Shower would only produce cold water. I booked a twin but was given a double
7.0 Good
Pros: Very well situated if you want a frequent bus service to just about anywhere in Kent. Our car didn't move from the car park from the time we arrived until the time we went home. Obviously on the main road so not quiet but going out after a very good breakfast and not returning until dinner time this was not a problem.
7.0 Good
Pros: excellent hospitality, excellent meal in the red lion - good value and good quality
Cons: I woulkd suggest that they improve the reception area or alternatively encourage the guests to go into the bar to check in
3.2 Mediocre
Pros: Free Parking-comfortable lounge although it does not accomodate many.
Cons: If we were to stay again we would not have same room(No5) but I doubt if we will stay again. Good mattresses and pillows but the quilt was so small that it did not cover the bed never mind us as well. The toilet seat was not secure. No remote for tv.We wee next to the communal corridor inner door so heard it slam everytime someone went through it even at 5:30 am!The old wardrobe had no shelves or rail so what was the purpose of that? The clothes rail did not accomodate the hangers easily.Mmmm sorry state.
6.0 Good
Pros: Easy method of booking and confirmation. Very friendly staff. Lovely spacious room and en-suite. Good breakfast.
Cons: The only down thing was the shower which we couldn't control - it was either too hot or very cold.
5.6 Okay
Pros:
Cons: Alot of money for a b&b
5.2 Okay
Pros: Staff were friendly. Restaurant was good.
Cons: The room wasn't serviced for 2 of the days we were staying which meant we had to ask staff for Coffee and Toilet roll. We were given a reduction at the end but I would have rather had the room serviced. I had the impression they were short staffed.
6.0 Good
Pros: Really lovely b&B, good value for money. Whilst I didn't eat at the restaurant, the food looked really good and lots of people eating there. Most enjoyable stay.
Cons:

6.7 Good
Pros: Location, friendliness of staff. Comfort, history of Philip Sassoon & in particular the Whistler Mural. Grounds & views, which could have been better lit.
Cons: Staff, although friendly needed better training. They should not have served toast & scrambled eggs at the same time as we were having our cereal. PLEASE tell them not to answer every request with "no problem " its intensely irritating. We stayed there as I am about to deliver a lecture on Rex Whistler & the staff seemed to know little about him or the murals of Sert. We stayed in the T.E. Lawrence room which was a bit "tired" round the edges. The bar had run out of ordinary tonics & I had to have a slimline tonic (Yuk) No sign of the manager. Music in main building great but canned music in dining room not good news. Evening meal was OK, but not great. Appeared to be shortage on wines by the glass. Breakfast fine.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The grounds and house are absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed dinner for my husband’s birthday which was delicious. The card in the room was also a thoughtful touch. Breakfast the following morning was also of good quality and the staff were attentive and helpful throughout our stay. Having use of the golf buggy was excellent and made it easy to see all of the animals. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Cons: Whilst a fan was provided, it was extremely hot in our room during the night. The bathroom was also in need of an update; the toilet took a long time to refill and decor was outdated.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The overall experience was lovely. I came to celebrate my 50th Birthday. The AAA safari was very god too. Recommend this experience to you.
Cons: The breakfast was not that good in the hotel. Very light on portions. The dinner in the hotel was also very overpriced for what is was. The staff however were lovely and couldn't do enough for you.
6.0 Good
Pros: The tree house was amazing to stay but I don’t think I would pay full price for it. Luckily we got upgraded as our room had a drainage problem.
Cons: On our arrival our room in the hotel smelt and I had to go down to reception to complain. There seemed to be a problem with the drains. We then got upgraded to the tree house. There needs to be more signs when coming in via the hotel entrance... it was all very confusing. I also think the park itself could be laid out better.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good
Cons: Nothing was wrong

Lympne Castle Cottages - Hythe - Outdoors view
13
8.8 Excellent (79 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Set in the beautiful Kent countryside, Lympne Castle offers charming cottages, close to Folkestone. There is good access to the M20 motorway. On the edge of the grounds of stunning Lympne Castle, these cottages offer modern accommodation, for up to 6 people. Lympne Castle Cottages have stylish living areas with a TV and DVD player, while the fully equipped kitchens also include a dishwasher and laundry facilities. Canterbury is 30 minutes' drive from the cottages, and The Channel Tunnel is 8 km away. The local pub is a short walk away and serves food all day.
7.1 Good
Pros: The property was beautiful
Cons: A wedding taking place on a Monday very loud until midnight as the music was in a marquee outside the bedroom windows. We had just flown in from abroad and we were all tired The bed was small and hard Tv not easy to use-we had children with us No WiFi
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely cottage with all the amenities, near a local pub and bistro. Prefect for family and near the safari park. Staff very helpful.
Cons: Beds very hard and quite uncomfortable especially for my Nan. No high chairs for toddlers.
6.7 Good
Pros: We stayed for a wedding in the castle. The location was great and meant we didn't need to get a cab at night. The castle and grounds are very pretty and the near by pub is good.
Cons: Sadly it's a little dated (e.g. The sofa). It's also wasn't as clean as we would have expected (and for the price). There was quite a lot of cobwebs and dead insects. We probably wouldn't stay hear if their wasn't a wedding.
7.5 Good
Pros: The cottage was comfortable, clean and well equipped. The scenery was pleasant and there was a small outside area with seating and lovely flowers.
Cons: The cottage was located outside the main castle. The castle grounds were not open to residents staying at the cottage which was a shame. It would have been nice to experience a walk around the castle grounds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quaint, cosy and just what we wanted, made all the better by the warm welcome from Sue
7.1 Good
Pros: Location and view was great.
Cons: Mattress in master bedroom was too soft for me. I had uncomfortable sleep and woke up with back pain. Lots of spider webs upstairs( by the window, ceiling, wardrobe, bedside).huge spider in living room . Shower tap didn't work properly, couldn't get cold water.was just very hot water.impossible to take a shower. Sink have 2 taps which I don't like it. It was pineapple cottage.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location perfect as we were at a wedding reception in the Castle Great view out over the bay
Cons: Since there is no catering it would have been really nice if they provided some biscuits to have with the complimentary tea/coffee - just to take the edge off early morning hunger pangs before venturing out to find breakfast! Having to collect the keys strictly between 2 and 4 in the afternoon might also be a drawback for some visitors.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Comfortable beds. Ideal for family get-together using 3 adjacent cottages.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Comfortable beds. Family get together using 3 adjacent cottages: Ideal accommodation.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful location and very peaceful. The cottage was comfortable especially given the little time we spent actually in it. It's a great base for exploring the Kent coast and countryside.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful place. Our room was bigger than our appartment and was very clean. Delicious cooked breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The cottages form part of a 12th century fortified farm - effectively a castle. It's steeped in history, has terrific views over Romney Marshes and Dungeness point. The cottages have been refurbished to a very high standard. My father in law has been inspired to write a book after staying for the weekend! I couldn't fault any part of the package offered. The staff are also excellent.
Cons: There is a pub a short walk away - the County Members - this is fine but fairly basic.

7.1 Good
Pros: The staff were lovely
Cons: The pictures glorify the hotel nerds some work tbh
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice the bath in the room was superb nice size tv and the bed was very comfortable
Cons: The only thing wrong with the room the shower did not have a lot of water pressure and just needs a little more a tension on the cleaning side
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Large room very clean and staff were very friendly. Will use again if visiting this area
7.0 Good
Pros: Good parking Helpful staff Quiet room
Cons: Wrongly informed there were no gluten free options for breakfast Outside of building is scruffy especially curtains
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff
Cons: Shower was awful..!
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location and the off street parking was a definite plus point, room was pleasant enough with a view of the channel and was reasonably clean. Staff were really friendly, bar area was nice and the breakfast was lovely. Only a short walk to the promenade/sea front.
Cons: The running about in the shower to get wet wasn't ideal and I think that the photo used to describe the room is more than likely the best room and may not give a correct overview of the standard for all the rooms.
6.3 Good
Pros: ..
Cons: I asked for the burger with home made chips. Wasn’t what I got. Other than that the overall experience was Satisfactory.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast.
Cons: Unfortunately the evening that we stayed was made unpleasant due to a guests behaviour. Whilst having a drink at the bar a very inebriated man was using offensive language and was also staggering around which later resulted in two falls. I was surprised that the hotel manager continued to serve him with alcoholic beverages despite his extremely inebriated condition. My husband and a fellow guest intervened and assisted the man into his hotel room. I felt that that the manager was irresponsible for both continuing to serve alcohol to a very inebriated guest and for leaving this guests wellbeing to other patrons. I remained concerned for the remainder of that evening in case the drunken man came to harm such as inhaling his own vomit, which was a real possibility.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location was good, pretty central to everything and not far from the beach.
Cons: My room was right near the kitchen, which meant there was an overwhelming smell of stale food in my room. It was also noisy when staff were preparing meals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Always stay there close to the Channel Tunnell easy convenient, private parking
Cons: Nothing

7.0 Good
Pros: I was arriving by bicycle, and the overnight storage arrangements were very good and secure.
Cons: I would have preferred a tv in my room, rather than a fridge and micowave - but I knew in advance that there would not be one!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was comfortable
Cons: View was looking at a wall
7.9 Good
Pros: Beds were super comfy and really nice having the kitchenette. Nice idea for the kitchen and living room area. My children possibly ate most of the cookies in the jar on the table - so they were kept rather happy!
Cons: Wasn't aware we wouldn't meet any staff when we got there but we booked last minute so think we missed this info by accident.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed and good customer service. Fridge and microwave in the room. Pub next door.
Cons: Nothing not to like to be fair.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast not supplied
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just across the road from the steam train station.
Cons: I thought it was all excellent.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Microwave, shower and full sink- you could stay a week easily. Quiet, facing the back of the hotel. Pleasant staff. I like the no-TV, I didn’t need it.
Cons: There’s no food other than local takeaways and cafe, but the pub next door has a good menu
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A friendly welcome, nice room,
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulously helpful host, great location and brilliant value for money!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff go above and beyond here. They are very thoughtful of their guests and provide the best customer service. They contacted us before our stay with very helpful information and offered a later check out free of charge. The room and bathroom were very clean. Added bonus of a fridge and microwave in the room as well as tea, coffee and biscuits. Little extras such as a jar of cookies for guests to help themselves to in the reception area, shows their attentiveness to guests. Highly recommend this family run hotel.
Cons: The only negative, although the bed was comfy, the bed frame was extremely noisy. When you sat/lay down, moved, turned over the bed it made a loud noise.

6.3 Good
Pros: In a convenient t location.
Cons: Not good for the less mobile.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, good local produce, really fresh and beautifully cooked with very tasty coffee. Our host was friendly and helpful and the location was excellent. Bedding very soft.
Cons: Rooms decor is very dated and as another reviewer has remarked, too many extension leads and plugs for our liking. Room and bathroom was however, not entirely clean, with lots of cobwebs up high and several spiders (a personal hate of mine), and shower head was not clean, shame really as rest of room was bright and welcoming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here several times now. Very nice room and good breakfast. Close to Hythe centre and sea. Ideal for seeing my family. Have already booked for Christmas.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful owner who couldn't do enough for us.
Cons: Rather cramped ensuite. Decor a bit old fashioned
6.3 Good
Pros: Friendly welcome
Cons: Appearance & decor somewhat dated and obviously limited updating of previous family residence. When booked was offered a twin room with sea view - admittedly requested double room if possible - but difficult to see how any of the rooms could claim to have sea view considering distance from sea. Had stayed previous 3 nights at a Holiday Inn Express in n Kent - was £17.50 a night cheaper with infinitely better room & facilities - Hythe is expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: friendly welcome, good room, central location
Cons: Just for motorcyclists - not ideal parking
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We only stayed for the one night but it was all good.when we stay anywhere as long as its clean and comfy and not far from where we want to go it's fine which this b+b was.the lady who runs it is very nice.
Cons: What's not to like.people might moan and groan about places they stay.we just look for somewhere to sleep nice at night that's clean with a nice breakfast.no complaints
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was just my kinda place. A quiet and comfy room with a beautiful view from the window that gave a very homely feeling. The access to the living room across my room upstairs was another attraction with facilities of a large TV screen, a microwave, a refrigerator and a hot kettle with with tea and coffee available. The freshly cooked scrambled egg upon my special request for breakfast gave me a great start! I particularly liked the location with just a few minutes’ walk to the canal, high street and even the beach. An ideal place to stay particularly for women travelling on their own!
Cons: I don’t think there was anything that I disapproved of during my stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was really good. Maybe some fruit would be good and a little more choice of cereal
Cons: Can not think of anything
8.3 Excellent

Cons: The furniture in the rooms was a little old.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Value for money
Cons: Bathroom
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Room was very small, mould on window frames and cutains No valence on bed Dirty walls Seemed to be an old staff quarters room Very dissapointed with this hotel
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff are very friendly and very helpful. Beds were comfy but a lot closer together than advertised in the pictures.
Cons: Breakfast was clearly labelled as a buffet on both menus, continental and cooked. But the cooked breakfast was not buffet, only the continental was. I would have had more hash browns had it been what it was advertised as. Shower on 2nd floor had no pressure at 1pm on Saturday and was extremely long winded and difficult to take one. However worked better the following day at 10am.
5.0 Okay
Pros: the location
Cons: The hotel is a little dated, and could do with decorating and new carpets and replace the bathroom tiles with nice new shower proof walls...
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff I came into contact with were friendly and efficient at check-in & out. The room was clean and comfortable, and although listed as a compact room it was reasonably roomy (certainly for one) with a large bathroom.
Cons: A minor criticism is the lack of any sort of bedside table/shelf.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Ease of room upgrade. Staff friendly and accommodating
Cons: Builders blocking my car in, builders waking us up at 7am each morning, builders playing music very loudly.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great staff.. clean room, powerful shower..
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Ann at reception gave us a warm welcome and even upgraded our rooms. Both my friend and I had lovely comfortable rooms with a sea view. Loved the white bed linen..)
Cons: Nothing
5.8 Okay
Pros: The staff were good and the restaurant and reception were nice with a nice view of the sea
Cons: The noise was unreal, we didn’t sleep at all, the walls and ceilings were paper thin and people were coming in until 6am, the room was pokey and I would have been fine with this apart from the lack of sleep and I feel like we were totally over charged! Would not recommend this to anyone unless your a student out for a party
7.3 Good
Pros: The room was amazing - charming, so spacious, very relaxing, and with enormous windows!
7.7 Good

Cons: It is always easy to nit-pick about minor details but we thought it was great
5.6 Okay
Pros: Close to the sea
Cons: I was in a top room and the shower could have been better.
