In an incredible seafront location, with panoramic views stretching from Cap Martin to Italy, the recently-renovated Hôtel Victoria offers contemporary, elegant, yet unpretentious comfort. The hotel has 32 rooms, including 17 boasting sea views and large balconies. All rooms enjoy free WIFI, free non-alcoholic minibar, USB chargers, air conditioning and satellite TV. The hotel lounge bar is open 24/7 and serves light snacks at meal times.
The location, the breakfast and the appearance of the hotel. It feels lilke the French Reviera, right there on the water and nice beach. The breakfast is worth whatever they charged, I don't recall, but really excellent. Overall, great ambiance. Nice, big tv, english- language channels, also German, Italian, and of course French. Good internet access.
We booked the standard double room, and recommend the upgraded rooms. We stayed in the upgraded room last year and it was way nicer; but the standard room is adequate with still ok furnishings. REally crummy tv remote, the plus-minus kind that forces you ro scroll channels; clumsy when there are many channels.
The view from our balcony over the sea was lovely and the lounge/bar area that had been upgraded was lovely to sit and have your breakfast in.
Only part of the hotel has been upgraded the other part is shabby, carpets very stained, we found an adult toy under our bed! Make sure you book a room that is overlooking the sea and that it is in the upgraded part.
It was close to the beach / promenade, clean and stuff was helpful.
The bathroom needed renovation but at least it was clean.
Excellent stay and not overpriced, unlike many of the hotels we stayed at on this trip to France. I paid more for rooms in moderate 3 star motels than I have paid in a good hotel in central London. Even accounting for the weak pound, prices are silly, except for the Vicoria which was the lowest price we paid on the whole 2 week trip.
Free WiFi, beautiful view to sea
- location, excellent breakfast, beach just across the street
- car parking is a misunderstanding. The hotel should note, that they have 2 places, in spite of this they are trying to pack 4 cars. You should rather treat it as " no parcing" hotel. The rest was really good.
Near sea. Not far from Monaco (5 minutes by car)
Beach access directly across from the hotel.
Rooms were old and tired as compared to the new lobby/bar area and on-line photos. This hotel needs an exterminator!
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The reception/dining area and terrace is beautifully redecorated. The breakfast was first class, although a bit expensive if they want to attract more clients.
The noise from the traffic on the sea-facing side of the hotel is something they need to address. Apparently they will be fitting double-paned glass in November '09.
The view and position were wonderful
