Pros: The room was clean and big.The buffet dinner was simply but very good.the breakfast has a lot of choices (salmon, eggs, cheese, yogurt, cereal, juices, caffe, etc).everything was perfect and exceed my expectetion.
Pros: Decent, warm and nice
Pros: Central location. Everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Cons: Shower lead was not long enough for wall mout, had to hold by hand to wash my hair.
Pros: Loved to stressless chair in the room very comfy.
Pros: A decent diner in the evening is in your room-price. Nice breakfast! Central in Porsgrunn.
Cons: A taxi from Porsgrunn to Sandefjord-Torp costed me 100€, what was a little exaggerated. I was't able to make the internet-taxi-reservation for 35€ via my phone otherwise ...
Pros: Everything apart from the diner!
Cons: The diner! Ate at 8:15pm (open to 9pm). Dry pieces of chicken in a dish, empty dishes where other food had been on offer earlier with a few fried onions left in the dish and no one about to ask to refill! Was dreading breakfast being the same, but to my delight the breakfast was excellent, with a fine selection of hot and cold food.
Pros: Attention of staff
Cons: No muffins or pastries at breakfast
Pros: Afternoon coffee and dinner included. Makes life easier when traveling with family. Good facilities for kids with play room.
Cons: They forgot to tidy up the room
A stay at Thon Hotel Hoyers places you in the heart of Skien, within a 10-minute walk of Telemark Museum and Brekkeparken. Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. Limited parking is available onsite.
Pros: Excellent breakfast, comfy bed,)
Pros: Very comfy bed and friendly staff.
Cons: The shower was installed in the bath, with a dividing glass screen that didn't shield the water enough. The result was a wet bathroom floor.
Pros: Our room was fine, nice and comphy bed. The breakfast and the ambience downstairs was impeccable...loved it! Lovely staff.
Cons: The bathroom could use some updates, a single sink installed off the wall did not leave counter space nor the feeling one wants in a hotel. The sink was also really crooked, and should be looked at. The door to the bathroom was noisy.
Pros: Very good position, People there were very friendly Good breakfast.
Cons: A dirty chair, Very small WC and bathroom, and the carpet wan not looking good, the foto at booking was not looking the same ...
Pros: Great location downtown. Excellent staff! Good hotel
Cons: Room 228 is not the room you want
Pros: Hotel centrally located with very friendly and welcoming Reception staff (especially Anette). Our room was a corner room on 4th floor with lovely views. Breakfast was good and we liked how they had a sign indicating how many kgs of food were thrown away the day before, making you conscious of how much you put on your plate, ie waste as little as possible! We also loved the beetroot and ginger shots at breakfast!
Cons: Weather was very hot, and whilst a pedestal fan was provided, it didn’t do a great job at cooling down the room. Fixed shower screen was too big, it would’ve been difficult for a larger person to get in. And could’ve had better amenities.
Pros: Very kind and helpful staff. Great location. Nice breakfast.
Pros: Great breakfast buffet
Cons: Traffic noise in room at street side
Pros: Very good breakfast! Central location.
Cons: Checking in and out took very long time.
A stay at Clarion Collection Hotel Bryggeparken places you in the heart of Skien, within a 10-minute walk of Brekkeparken and Telemark Museum. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The breakfast choice was pretty good, the evening meal was also included which was quite unexpected. They were also serving Norwegian waffles from 3pm, so our little one enjoyed herself with a great
Cons: Nothing really other than there were no fridge nor electric kettle, so my daughter's medications needed to be chilled, but they offer bucket of ice that we used to chill the medicine.
Cons: I booked the hotel 5 months prior and asked for a scenic room. We got a room that faced a rock wall with loud alley traffic and also a busy road above that! The room was very hot and we opened a window and the noise was terrible. It said free parking available on the listing. What a joke! There were probably 15 spots only. We had to pay another $20 for overnight parking in a private lot a block away. When I complained I was told that was the way it was.
Cons: Probably the TVs in the rooms may need to be upgraded as they don't support casting from Mobile/Laptop using wi-fi.
Pros: Good location and clean rooms! Staff were kind and helpful.
Cons: Stayed for couple of weeks due to work. Dinner menu was pretty much the same every week. Hard to find vegetarian menu except chill salads. The view was not exciting from first floor and single occupancy room.
Pros: Good view from the room, overlooking the harbour. The rate I paid included an evening meal, which saved me from paying eye-watering Norwegian restaurant prices. It was a help-yourself buffet, so the choices were limited, but it catered for my needs.
Cons: The first room I was allocated hadn't been made up after the previous occupant, so I had to return to reception. This was dealt with efficiently and I was given a different room.
Pros: Excellent breakfast with great take out coffee.
Cons: Poor customer service after having to amend booking due to a work emergency. Very disappointed with hotel compared to others in Choice group. Will not return.
Pros: location is very good, evening dinner included.
Pros: Friendly staff and the breakfast was good. The location is great when visiting Skien.
Cons: The price was somewhat higher compared to similar hotels (even in Norway).
Pros: The place
Pros: Location, facilities, breakfast and dinner was good enough. Good internet and internet room. Quiet and calm. Everything in walking distance.
Cons: Was not sure about cleaning. In 4 days nobody cleaned room.
Located in Skien, Hotell Fritidsparken is a 5-minute drive from Telemark Museum and 6 minutes from Brekkeparken. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Staff very friendly.
Cons: Very over priced for really 1 star accommodation. Shower located over the toilet. Very basic facilities. Room only cleaned once the day before we left. Has to ask for clean towels.
Pros: All the activities and all included
Cons: Beds not good for adults
Pros: Excellent location if using the nearby facilities, as we were, otherwise a bit out of the way for visiting Skien itself. The food was very good and the staff were very helpful. We didn't speak norwegian but they spoke excellent english and called the taxi company for us as we were four adults each with a large bag, so needed a large car/minibus. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was very welcome and the shower was excellent.
Cons: There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but free tea/coffee/etc. was available in the reception area not far away. The walls are a bit thin and some of the doors creak which kept me awake for a while as our neighbour had visitors in and out for several hours into the early hours of the morning. The hotel is air-conditioned which led to us feeling a bit dehydrated.
Pros: The staff was very friendly, welcoming and available. Nice breakfast with varied selection, nice surroundings, especially for active people
Cons: The only downside was the beds, which did not meet my expectations (very hard mattress...)
Pros: It was a great experience, I felt like at home, the staff was really nice and warm. I am a vegan, they made special meals for me every evening. Tickets to the bath and spa were also included in the price, this was a wonderful surprise :) On part of the rooms had difficulties with the floor heating and warm water but we immediately got another room.
Pros: Friendly staff. Breakfast and supper included in price. Coffee available in reception. ( I was there for accommodation only and did not take advantage of all the sports facilities available - which looked good).
Cons: Room basic, no soap in dispenser in shower (both days so not checked). Décor seen better days. No desk (I was there for work). Building works in progress adjacent to hotel. Limited dining in area.
Pros: I have to admit my expectations were low cos I booked last minute and just needed something close to the hospital. But the breakfast was excellent, the dinner was excellent and entry to the bath was also included in the price which to me was a welcome surprise. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it has everything you need for a good price. Coffee is always available.
Cons: Nothing really.
Pros: Outdoor areas was good / super in winter time.
Cons: The room was with bunk bed. And it's was to short for my husband.
Pros: - the staff was super friendly and extremely helpful - breakfast and dinner buffet was surprisingly good - less than 5 minutes to the entrance of the "badeland" - very quite and the family room is very spacious! (we visit on a very calm weekend though) - it is really a nice place to stay for the whole family if visiting the fritidsparken is our main reason for coming here in the first place - hotel has a bit of a youth hostel character and the rooms are equipped accordingly, was all fine for us!
Cons: - the beds are a bit worn out and too soft for our taste
Pros: Superb location for the purpose of our visit to Norway, and the use of all facilities on site.
An informal hotel located in a stunning natural environment. This comfortable centre for outdoor life, during both summer and winter is a family friendly hotel. Situated in beautiful natural surroundings, enjoy the pleasant and laid back atmosphere and traditional interior. Our hotel famous for its home cooked traditional food and provides the opportunity to relax. We offer possibilities for seminars and courses and above all an abundance of natural oxygen.
Pros: Everything! The host was really nice, the location is spectacular, the accommodation is brand new and very clean.
Pros: nice breakfast
Cons: The room was not heated when I arrived. The room as well as the bathroom had a temperature of 0 degrees Celsius (same as outside). I had to switch on the electric panel oven in the room and also the electric floor cables in the bathroom when I arrived. It was a very cold room to change clothes in..... The breakfast (opens at 9 o'clock) was also postponed, due to the staff overslept due to a party held at the premises which lasted until 0430 in the morning.
Pros: They made breakfast for us early since we needed to leave very early in the morning.
Pros: Beautiful Hotel on a small lake in the middle of a deep forest.
Pros: Very friendly host and a very nice environment to hike or ski.
Cons: In low season restaurant is closed at 17.00
Cons: Breakfast left out got cold quick Had loads of flies in my room Had lovely bath come shower come jacuzzi but only shower or bath worked no jacuzzi Tv only had one Chanel Food finished at 6:00 pm No good of you are Woking late
Pros: Great value for money! Well equipped room with cofeemachine TV and radio. Very good breakfast. We’ll be back.
Pros: Dog room way to expensive for the comfort and standard 990 NOK for a bad hostel room with lingerie and cleaning is way to expensive.
Cons: the standard was too poor
Pros: Breakfast was good. You could also choose to eat breakfast later than in other hotels.
Pros: I think that the hotel was nice, clean with a helpful staff, comfortable bed and an excellent wireless connection in the room. It was a good value for the price in a very expensive country. Would definitely use this hotel again if I am back in Skien
Pros: OK location and parking. Breakfast was good. It was whar i expected for a business trip stop over.
Pros: It is very conveneient, close to the town centre and bus station. Also, it is cheap considering that Norway is an expensive country.
Cons: It is better to have panel TVs.
Pros: fabulous feel like home: there is tove who makes your breakfast most mornings, others who make noon lunch; coffee is hot, chocolate is hot, waffles divine with lots of jam, meatballs done A+! all dining done in this cozy, homelike site with the local men discussing world affairs and solving themas well---sitting in back room with coffee.upstairs has a TV and sitting room on 3rd fl. with lots of old or donated books---we read a lot of them; we stayed 4 nights here and used this place as a jump off for our trains to Bo and Porsgrunn. It is a hike to the train station from the Dag Bondeheim but good for the legs!! Use their back enterance door facing the city library and the Greig concert place after hours as coffeestova door is locked.
Cons: Only thing is that we found no reason to not need to stay another night or we would have. Desk clerks were so nice and promised to fix info for late comers who want to come in and find front door locked.
Pros: The reception lady was really helpfull
Cons: The rest of the stay
