Please write at least 15 words Breakfast was very poor, worst ever
The hotel is newly renovated. I stayed in a single room which was spacious with stylish design. Just perfect for a short trip.
Location near the train station, new and clean
Nice place, comfortable room, service, honest breakfast, good quality restaurant. The room we stayed was smelling to cigarette smoke.
Too many tree....on the walls
We had a lovely stay at the hotel..The location was breathtaking, the staff were very friendly and helpful..Maybe make the menus in English to help out the humble tourist!!!
No elevator and we were on the third floor. Of course it is an old building and it is hard/impossible to install one.
Lovely location. Very friendly staff and helpful management.
Fantastic views of the Alps, friendly staff, great food at a reasonable price
Very nice, family operated hotel. Excellent location - 1 min from the motorway - yet very quiet. Exceptional quisine - overall I very strongly recommend this hotel to everyone travelling through the Switzerland.
I liked the sound of the nearby river, fine bath
very well located hotel and with roomy and comfortable room. The kitchen closes very early, 9:30 pm. Elevator doesn't exist.
Convenient location for a stop between north and south slopes of the Alps. Fine room. Too expensive for what you get. No elevator.
The courtesy taxi from the railway station and the viw of the mountains from the ground floor room along with the seats and sun-bed outside. Also the genuine friendliness and helpfulness of staff. The lack of English speaking from the Receptionists made communication difficult. One had excellent English the other during the day-time had almost none.
To be fair there is not much and I would not stay there again. Its location to the motorway was its only plus point. I paid £150, for what was no more than a travelodge and it sadly did not come up to that low standard. It was very hot and no air con in a place that gets hot in the summer........ I stayed at other hotels for that money and they were 4 star or on the lake with stunning views; this was neither.
Good breakfast, good restaurant opposite the hotel Wash-bowl in the room, not in the bathroom. The bathroom is too smal and has only shower and lavatory pan.
cleanness the fact that it's a motel, situated right next to the highway
location + quite (even though next to highway, all rooms are on back side) Driving instructions when coming from the north.
Good location, no problems from motorway
this hotel fits well into our travel back from Greece , the rooms are bigger than some and there is a Marche restaurant next door expensive compared with French hotels
Room was clean and practical. Being on a service exit, not numbered, made it difficult to find and to get to certain places without backtracking and wasting time. It lacked atmosphere and the nearby restaurant was packed and dirty making it necessary to drive into Bellinzona to find a decent meal. Despite it being quite expensive (compared to other hotels we stayed at) breakfast waws an extra 15 CZFs.
Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and confortable rooms at competitve prices.
The kindness of the hotel staff.
Proximity to train station and castles; balcony; convenience of on-site restaurant.
Adequate overnight hotel - comfortable, clean in Bellinzona Town Centre
Friendly and helpful staff, good standard of room, good location not far from station.
Central location A tick expensive
Early check in, good location, decent restaurant, friendly staff, balcony, clean No hot water early in the morning (lukewarm for more than 10 min at 4:30 am).
location; very clost to the castle old rooms and a too hight pice for the comfort
A comfotable chair for reading in mmy bedroom
Great location in a beautiful city. View of two of the castles gracefully integrated into the city from our hotel window. Clean and comfortable. A little pricey.
Location: lovely views, surrounded by family vineyard, wines very good. Room: a bit basic/ rural and overpriced, small balcony - pretty. Dinner: delicious, under priced! Room: Bath in room facing door. Feels basic, bed comfortable.
the location and food The waiter was a real challenge in the evening and also during breakfast and affected very negatively the entire warm ambiance and team we used to experience many years ago when the location opened. In such a small location every employee counts to customer satisfaction and we personally feel the waiter should urgently change his mindset and style of communication/work. The location is great, the food as well, but we will not consider this nice place for a moment. Instead of a relaxing weekend it ended with great stress - this is really sad!
Excellent food, nice wine and friendly and helpfull employees. It's a romantik hotel and not for a business trip.
Great location - room overlooking the vineyard. Delicious dinner and warm atmosphere in dining room. Accommodations were very comfortable but overpriced. No one was there when we arrived and there was an electronic gate which was closed. When we called the number on the booking.com confirmation, they didn't know the gate code but said that someone would be there within an hour. We were able to park outside and walk a short way to the guesthouse where there were instructions to get the key (but you needed a code for that as well - which we got when we called). It would have been helpful to have that information ahead of time. But these things did not detract from a lovely overnight stay.
Easy to find. Excellent staff. Spotlessly clean. Biasca, Switzerland is a beautiful quaint town. No.
Good breakfast No Balkony
Location, and the restuarant for dinner. Excellent food and good wine - service very good. Very freindly staff in both restuarant and hotel. The pillows really need replacing. We have stayed in two different rooms and in both they are very poor and thin. Take your own. Beds ae comfortable. The shower again in our room didnt work properly and again this is an area that could easily be updated by the hotel and one that is actualyl necesary for the prices that they charge. We would stay here again - and hope that they may consider updating these points in the hotel as it really is the only thing that lets it down for us.
very friendly staff - excellent price - excellent restaurant Not a thing
The room was basic, staff friendly, most spoke english, the food in their restaurant was the best we had in Switzerland for the price.
The helpfulness of the staff when my husband slipped and fell during the night. The location is nice. The shower room is very small, and a sliding door instead of one that opens inwards would be a very sensible modification.
How can you have a room with a bed that's 60cm wide ?
breakfast was nice, staff really friendly the beds were not really comfortable
Friendly staff, good restaurant - good hotel for a stop over heading south.
Convenience to what I needed to do and helpfulness of staff.
Nice, clean, well furnished hotel, good value for money
Charming staff, nice location between the mountains although San Bernardino itself is not extremely nice.
The hotel family owners were very friendly. More attention needs to be given to house keeping.
The room was very clean and we had a very good sleep in this very nice mountain environment.
Lovely hotel in a stunning location. Accomodation is pretty basic (we were in a 4 bed room), but warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hotel has a great indoor pool, and plenty of room to lounge. The bar is great, and the food in the restaurant was excellent. A really nice place to stay, and the staff, without fail, were fantastic. Recommended. Absolutely nothing!
This was a return visit to San Bernardino. Our room overlooked the the village church and offered a great view of the mountains. It's summertime quiet offered a relaxing visit. The hiking was great, and a trip over the pass gave us spectacular views, plenty of hairpin turns and a lovely alpine lake at the top. Stop and add a cairn to the many that visitors have left there. The inclusive breakfast was excellent. Make sure you walk around the town and take in the stone roofs; they're intriguing. Leave your window open at night so that you go to sleep and awake with the quaint sound of cow bells.
Wonderful location, very friendly staff, family atmosphere
Amicable stuff good breakfast wonderful nature just as we expected
It was located close to Belinzona and reasonable cost for Switzerland. The bedroom was comfortable and I liked the 19th century style furniture. It was located on a windy mountain road and we stayed there to eat and enjoyed the views. The directions could have been clearer as we had a little difficulty finding it. The owner was very friendly and we enjoyed our stay. If in the area, we would definitely stay there again. No
the owners are very friendly and the view is stunning - your GPS will get a little stressed trying to find it - just keep driving up the hill and you will get there only a new hotel with a slightly retro style - but the beds and pillows and linen are very poor - not good value for money, even in Switzerland
Good position, quite and peacefull, our reason for staying was a stop over on the way to Italy. Although the position of the hotel, the room and the staff where excellent, I felt is was a little over priced. The choice of food was limited, but good, breakfast was also good. I would probally stay again, but I think the price needs to come down a little.
The hotel manager was very nice, the food at breackfast and dinner was excellent. A little long way to arrive, but rewarded by a wanderful view on the mountains and a incredible peace.
The peace and quiet
Simpel, small, lovely view of the valley. Excellent tip for a one night stay to or from south europe
The host, Luciano, his on site restaurant and his knowledge of Switzerland. Luciano was extremely helpful in giving us information on road closures and scenic routes while touring Switzerland by car. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night.
Very friendly service and lovely hotel with great views. People should be aware that the hotel is up a very winding road into the mountains which is why you have such fantastic views. However this makes it remote so don't go expecting to be in the middle of town. Nothing - it's great!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The osteria has a covered wooden veranda where meals are served. Locals seem to dine here regularly, for breakfast and evening meals, drinks, cigars and so on. It is a very nice place to sit and watch the sun set over Locarno and the alps. Vellano needs an earlier morning bus-service up the valley (earliest is around mid-day). This is not the osteria's fault of course.
A small and ancient family business with a hotel, restaurant, grocery and gas station. Perfect for overnight stay. Simple but good menu for about Euro 25,At the back of the hotel no disturbance of the trains going by in the front ( at about 200 meters). No elevator. With 3 floors. Beds, especially 3rd bed not big for adults.
The staff were so helpful, warm and interesting--it's been owned by four generations! The food was good as well. The room was a little small but it worked.
Excellent value for money. Owner couple is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. Adjacent gas station owened by same fellow carries benzin at a reasonable price. Town has absolutely nothing to offer. Its a pitstop to break the journey. I was a bit skeptical about room facing busy railway tracks across the street from prior reviews but this really is not an issue since windows eliminate 80% of sound when shut.
Size of the hotel (quite small), pleasant family atmosphere, comfortable room with quite big bathroom (need not be the case in all rooms!). Somewhat noisy environment (railway, local road, motorway nearby). It's no surprise, considering the location in a narrow spectacular valley with all the traffic up and down San Gottardo. When you shut the window, however, the room is quiet enough.
quick assess to the hotel fron highway, we used the hotel as transit hotel on our way to Italy. Simple hotel but nice atmosphere
Very friendly and good staff. Clean rooms, good breakfast and dinner.
its a family business and of course the politness and service we received from the owner A coffee or tea facility in the room, before someone goes down for breakfast. Also parking facilities, althougth owner allowed us to park in his private space. There were no signs at all on the road for the hotel, nobody around in the evening to ask and so difficult to find
During our stay at Defanti, we liked the service the most. As we had called in to be later, the staf didn't hesitate to stay and wait for us to arrive. Even after having arrived they served us drinks from the bar. We're very satisfied and have planned to use the hotel more often in the future. no
It was pretty average stop-over for the money. You didn't feel very welcome by the staff. But nothing to really complain about, it just wasn't a hotel you would make a point of going back to..
Friendly staff, Excellent location, Nice views from the balcony No parking nearby, No elevator, Bad internet connection in the room.
Close to the castle and shopping area. Wi-Fi didn't work in the room. The restaurant is not very good.
Very conveniently situated with view of castle. Night time was very noisy (music/singing, glass bottles being thrown away) and hot. It was a dilemma whether to have the windows open because of the heat or suffer the noise.
freindly reception rooms very basic
Hotel Croce Fedrale is centrally located to all you want to see in Bellinzona-it is very close to 2 beautiful castles and a beautiful church. Very close to all kinds of shopping too. It is also very close to the train station. The building itself is quite old, but our room was comfortable and quiet. The front desk staff were very friendly as well as the restaurant staff. The gentleman at the front desk helped us carry our luggage up to our room as there are no elevators/lifts. If you are visiting Switzerland be sure to explore Bellinzona as it a real gem. There are no elevators.
