the proximity to Genoa was wonderful. The driving directions we received from the desk were clear and (for italy) easy to follow. Our room was quiet and faced a wonderful park with wildlife. Very peaceful. A beautiful facility! While driving into the city was easy, we were not warned about getting out again. The night we stayed, we had hoped to have dinner, but a local group had reserved the entire restaurant for the evening. The clerk neglected to tell us of this, though he did offer an alternate suggestion which we opted not to use due to the hour. Breakfast was meager, only prepackaged "cookies" and dry toast. After skipping dinner, we'd been hoping for more substantial fare so were disappointed. But, we understand this is often the accepted fare for Italy, so we can't blame them too much. We just wish we'd been forwarned. Our other advice is to watch out for all the motorbikes! They make lanes where there are none, and weave in and out of traffic!
Do not be put off by the industrial road leading to this hotel. When you enter the gates your are in a park oasis of splendor with lovely gardens, peacocks, ducks, swans and a beautiful pond. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful and generous. Kristian the owner and his father were helpful. Our waiter in the restaurant was a gem. We loved this hotel.
This hotel is set in a nice park side environment. The staff were very friendly and helpfull and the room we had was large, beautifully decorated with a very comfortable bed. There was secure parking and even though the restauraunt was not opened due to a function the staff recomended a really excellent trattoria down the road where we had an excellent reasonably priced meal. A really nice experience.
THe hotel was under going renervation the restaurant was closed and the reality did not live up to the publicity. I'm sure it will be nice when it is finished
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we were made feel very welcome. It is a small family hotel and everyone went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. The hotel is next to a beautiful park and our room looked straight out on to it. The rate was excellent and this hotel made a great stopover.
It was a beautful setting. The ataff was very helpful and quite nice. There was not an airport shuttle. It was not close to the airport. The restaurant was closed.
Very comfortable. small hotel, and you feel like at home there :) no AC in the rooms, but it was not a big problem anyway
The staff were amazing. So friendly and they went out of their way to help. Information on restaurants, made bookings for us, places to drive and see, boat times ect. Christian the owner was there most of the time and was a fantastic host! Location was the only draw back. Without a car it is impossible to get around here.
The staff took a lot of effort to explain the menu and make recommendations The breakfast was a bit sparse. The driveway to the hotel was exceptionally steep and no clear indications how to open the gate at the top .
Excelent hotel, excelent location. Easy to reach Genova, but the main point - is the location close to the mountains and fantastic nature. Happy choice to relax for several days with a foot-trips. Staff is friendly and ready to help. The hotel site on the INternet is only in Italian - must be also in English
An old hotel charm with necessary modern conveniences. Secure included parking.
quite run hotel Work is being done on external decoration on front elevation and itheir is minimum noise. It is an old building and work has to be done sometime, will look nice when finnished.
Convenient for purpose of trip Food at linked restaurant was terrible. Breakfast very limited
Good Breakfast, two bathrooms in room, large windows, big room, free gated parking Some Train noise, Renovation construction on the front of the building
Location across from the sea.
Staff were very welcoming. Room/bathroom very good. Sea view, but obviously noisy with constant traffic which didn't bother us. Breakfast was really bad- machine coffee and orange juice which was awful. Didn't try the cheap looking ham or cheese. This is a country of great food (well in some places) so go to coffee bar next door which is fast with great coffee and cakes. Evening drink there is good too.
we were here before, to visit genoa boat show via a very convenient boat / ferry connection this was the reason for choosing this location getting there by car is very difficult due to heavy rainfall we took 3h from genoa boat show to get to the hotel
close to beach a bit noisy..but hey you're in Italy..
The name was not marked clearly outside so I could not identify it!
The two different rooms we were in were large and clean. Bathroom lay-out a bit awkward. You had to circumnavigate the bidet to get at the toilet. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a very noisy position, situated on a busy through road and despite double glazed windows traffic sounds could be heard all through the night. The bar opposite the hotel played loud music until midnight. We changed rooms from the seafront side to the back and that was better although there you hear the trains early in the morning.
Our room was great. Getting from the airport to the hotel was a bit of a challenge, but not impossible.
The room was ok but nothing else was of any significance we were very dissapointed The hotels priorty was given over to the functions being held. The resident was not given the same care and attention
Very helpful staff, authentic decoration, cleanness, sea view, garden. Breakfast buffet was good enough.
The hotel is situated at the top of a winding road on top of a mountain overlooking the sea, so you drive out of the hot, slightly crazy city of Genoa into a little retreat, with a fresh breeze, a wonderful shaded secret garden, a sweet pool and charming restarant. Typical Italian food, hard to find in the tourist spots, and attentive staff make the restaurant well worth using. There wasn't any multilingual information in the room, so I spent a lot of time being really British and miming and using my three words of Italian to the reception.
The view of the sea. The garden behind. Complementary wine. Great wine. Excellent value for money Improve the choice in the breakfast items. Should be both hot and cold. There was no internet connectivity and was a bit of a let down.
The atmosphere Television on top of the wall
The room was clean The view of the containerport was not very pleasing. No one available to help with luggage. There was no food available except breakfast, which was eaten in some sort of tv room. No lunch served and dinner was only available if you had full board. There were no restaurants near by as the Hotel is in the middle of an industrial area. There was no bar open the whole time we stayed. The mini bar only contained water. The pool attendant was able to fetch drinks but we were not given this information. He was not available after six. The pool was only open between three and six in the afternoon. On raising these issues with the reception I was shouted at and told to accept what they offered. Probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at..
The general ambiance of an old fashioned hotel with the comfort of a modern one. The gardens and terraces. Courtesy of night staff when we arrived very late and the bottle of wine waiting for us. The dining room seemed small, but there were wedding receptions each night which probably took place in the normal dining room
Very good food and restaurant service
Nice old building Highly difficult to find out!
