Pros: The personal service from Bart and team was awesome. The hotel is beautiful and well positioned 50 yards from the village square. Relaxing and top class (and I have stayed in a lot of hotels!). Unreservedly recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptionally nice and personal. Location is perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Top quality location, lodging, parking, garden and breakfast. Welcoming and kind innkeeper & staff. A PERFECT 100% from Chicagoland visitors.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel was fully modernized considering it was nearly 1,000 years old. It still maintained the charm and character of the old world. It was located in the heart of Rothenberg which was perfect for navigating the town with easy access the surrounding areas. The owners (also the hosts) were extremely polite, friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure all our needs were met, which included parking and retrieving our car offsite, handling our luggage, customizing our breakfast orders, even the items in the mini-bar were included in our price. We stayed in 4 different hotels within Germany and Netherlands, and this hotel was by far our favorite.
Cons: At the time, they only served breakfast for guests of the hotel. I wish they offered dinner or lunch too. They stated they will be adding that soon. Otherwise, it exceeded our expectations
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful experience! The owner and staff went out of their way to help us. The location is perfect and so is the facility! The driver went above and beyond and bypassed a train station to save us a connection! Superb service! Highly recommend!
Cons: There was nothing we did not like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is the best. We’ll be back.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The check in process was lovely. Out host took us out to a beautiful garden where we checked in and were given a short tour of the surrounding area on a map and advised of places to dine that met our needs. Our car and luggage were handled and we were then shown our room which was #4, a lovely suite with garden view. This family run historic hotel has been in Rothenburg since the 1100’s.
Cons: The towels were extremely rough and stiff and the toiletries seemed to be used or refilled bottles not typical of a 5star hotel. These things were easy to overlook because of the the other amenities and atmosphere of the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Especially the staff and the cozy room. Will be back soon!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner Bart was super helpful to us! He is very honest and kind guy! He and his wife make you feel that you are so welcomed like visiting a best friend’s home! Hotel is clean and cozy. Especially, this hotel is very historical as well as the town and you really can connect yourself to Middle Ages! A wonderful hotel and owners!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were met with such a warm welcome from Melanie and Fritz. The hotel is so beautiful and has a lovely garden where we were offered a welcome drink. Our room was really pretty and quite quirky which you might expect in an older property. Breakfast is served to your table (no buffet) so all freshly made to order. Could not fault this hotel at all. Our trip included 6 hotels which were all really nice but this one topped the bill and we will be planning our next trip around a visit to Hotel Herrnschloesschen next year.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Our stay was absolutely amazing. We would go back in a heartbeat. I actually wish we could've stayed longer we enjoyed it so much. The owners are so professional and friendly, and went the extra mile to accommodate us and make sure we were comfortable. I cannot say enough good things about our experience there. We loved it.
Cons: We have zero complaints. We loved everything.

Pros: SUPER friendly father-daughter owners. Gave perks without our asking!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is gorgeous, right on the city wall and walking distance to all the main attractions the town has to offer. You can be at the market square in 5 to 10 minutes. The owner was there to greet us when we returned in the evening, and offered us a warm greeting on our arrival. Breakfast was tasty with cooked eggs to order, and the owner again came around to say good morning and enjoy your breakfast. It made it feel like a caring family run hotel. The room we had (valley view) was huge, very clean, and the bed very comfortable. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend if you're staying in Rothenburg (which itself was the highlight of my Germany trip). Rothenburg is especially lovely at night when the sun is setting and the streets have a glow about them.
Cons: nothing

6.8 Good
Pros: Large, clean apartment with nicely decorated bedrooms and equipped kitchen. Close to the main attractions. Closed gate parking.
Cons: Extremely late and limited time frame for check-in, just 2 hours (from 15 to 17). Check-out till 10:30 AM only!! Some rude and unhelpful staff, the lady barely allowed us to leave the car for 20 more minutes in their garage. Apartment shows it's age: stale smell, screeching floors and beds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quaint. Very clean. Excellent location.
Cons: Pillows very soft.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a beautiful apartment situated in old town.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, spacious, clean apartment. Beautiful apartment.
Cons: Apartment is on second floor (5 flights of stairs). Stairs to bedrooms are steep and may be a challenge for guests with limited mobility
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location , secure parking, lovely room
Cons: Check in bit confusing
7.5 Good
Pros: Apartment was in excellent location! The apartment was nicely renovated, stylishly appointed and had a wonderful character to it. Rothenberg is well worth staying in and wandering around early morning or after dinner when the crowds and noisy tour groups are gone. Double and twin room 2 bedroom apartment was ideal for our family with teenage children. Free parking nearby was very convenient.
Cons: Despite asking several times by email and once in person, we were not given clear answer about where to go or how to book night watchman tour, so we missed it. This was disappointing because we really wanted to do this tour. No air con in apartment - it was very warm for our stay and we were uncomfortably hot overnight even with small window open. Cool welcome on arrival - we were made to feel an inconvenience during check in...Perhaps it was because restaurant is closed Mondays (the day we arrived) or maybe the guy was just having a bad day? The lady on the phone was lovely.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Awesome location inside the city walls. The apartment kept its historic look with the timber beams and things but had modern furnishings and was nice and clean. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Cons: We happened to stay when the temps were in the 90s. Being on the top floor with no air conditioning made sleeping a bit difficult. Of course, the owners can not control the weather, but there was only a fan in one of the rooms and it made a loud squeaking sound unless we ran it on high. Maybe a couple more fans for the other rooms and a new one to replace the noisy one would help.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location.
Cons: Just a bit too warm at night need a bedroom fan
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice apartment setting in a 600-year-old building. Took you back in time.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Close to parking and a short walk on the north side of downtown to the platz. Rented both apartments in 6a and both had kitchens and large refrigerators. Very nice layout and huge inside. Lots of room.
Cons: Small windows detracted from the great views and limited the cross breezes.

Pros: This is extremely clean place! Owners are very nice and friendly! Fantastic wine Extraordinary “bio” breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: friendly family atmosphere. nice and clean room.
Cons: it was written in other's reviews, that the breakfast was excellent. This is not true. The breakfast is so average that you can not even describe it properly. for sure, one can find bread, cereals, a bit of yoghurt, cheese and ham there. as well as americano and tea. However, in all hotels we've previously stayed, I was able to ask for fried eggs, omlette or cappuccino or latte and it was free of charge. just with extra request. Here you can find these dishes as well, but you have to pay extra for fried eggs (about 3 Euro), capuccino (3,5 euro), etc. I am not sure this is fare and really hospitable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambiance is spectacular. The rooms are very authentic, the employees are very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was simply a wonderful experience that succeeded.

6.3 Good
Pros: Hotel has great breakfast and the rooms are perfectly clean and big.
Cons: They mentioned to have a terrace with great view in their booking pictures, but there is no place. They said to us, it is a wine house for group people. It was a very big disappointed.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room is clean and spacious wide.the king bed is comfortable.
Cons: It’s far from the center town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Although very hot weather, this facility was comfortably cool even without air conditioning. The host Alex was pleasant and very attentive. Fabulous buffet breakfast for a reasonable price. Extra amenities like a living room where guests can make their own hot drink in the evening. Location was a short walk ( although a bit of an uphill climb) to the town. Soothing sound of the stream flowing beneath the building provided a peaceful night's sleep.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is a family-run property a few kilometers away from the beautiful town of Rothenburg. The place is very well adapted for guests, the owner is nice and helpful and breakfast was good. There is a real working mill that we could see from our room
Cons: It is hard to get there is you do not have a car. Otherwise, it is a great place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed on the top floor for one night during our road trip along the romantic road. It was perfect for a family of 4. The room was amazing. Really comfortable and falling asleep to the water wheel outside the window was so peaceful! Like being in a story book! It was a nice walk (15 minutes?) over a creek and up a decent hill to the town through beautiful german countryside. Breakfast was beautiful - you have to try the berry and banana smoothies in champagne glasses! It was easy to find and plenty of parking outside. Beautiful views of the town above from the room.
Cons: Nothing! It was perfect!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was fabulous, really close to Rothenburg and still in the midst of some beautiful nature. We did have space to park our car. Good spacious family accommodation with separate bedrooms for parents - children.
Cons: A really steep climb towards the city, but we were warned :-). Although we asked for a babybed beforehand via email, we didn't find one in our room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, fresh pretzels
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very nice. However, we wished it had been included in the room rate. I must eat gluten free so it would have been extra nice if they had bread or a pastry that was gluten free. Some places do.
Cons: The towels were very scratchy but otherwise the place was wonderful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fuchsmuhle is a beautiful little country house with a mill in the middle of it. It is in a valley below the town of Rothenburg and is surrounded with a stream, alpaca farm and sheep. It is important to use GPS to find it as its a ways off the main road. It feels like a place where you're visiting your aunt with towels dried on the line and the bedrooms were like home guest rooms. We appreciated that the room had screens so that we could leave the windows open and hear the sounds of birds and sheep. ****It is important to know that there is a steep walk to the town of Rothenburg. If you want to be more out in the country, it is lovely....but it does take a lot of work to get up to the town. Other reviews have mentioned the need for flashlights to come back in the evening on the path, and we found that true even at dusk walking through the trees. The room was comfortable, roomy, and very clean. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was good, served by Alex the inn keeper. It had all the basics for a hot and cold breakfast and new needs each day.
Cons: The front door key/sensor was tricky. There is not an inn keeper at the building after about 7 pm in the evening, so having a key that works is important. Check in is only 2-7 pm. Parking only holds about 5-6 cars.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful spot just outside the city wall with a short walk to get to town. The room was large and clean, and very friendly host. Good with parking outside as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location. Picturesque. Friendly. Nothing to fault. We loved the walk up to the centre but someone who struggles walking would find it difficult.

A stay at Historik Hotel Gotisches Haus places you in the heart of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, steps from Rothenburg Town Hall and Tauber Valley. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and a library.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I could not have been happier with the suite at the Hotel Gotisches! The room was huge with many windows to let in natural light. The bed was comfortable as were the couch and chair. We had the whole upper level to ourselves to look over the cutest village of Rothenburg o.d.t. Breakfast in the ground level lounge was ample with many choices. We would recommend this location to anyone seeking to have a special, romantic experience. Many thanks!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is probably the most charming hotel I’ve ever stayed in! The entire building and room was straight out of a Disney movie, the decor was just surreal! On top of that, the staff were beyond friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was superb! I can’t wait to come back to Rothenburg so I can stay at this hotel again!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Historic building, centrally located in beautiful Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Although the room was small, the bathroom was large, modern and well-appointed with a full sized tub and shower. The bed was comfortable, and we did not hear any noise from other rooms or from outside. The staff was friendly, and spoke English well. The morning breakfast was large, with good selection. Highly recommend. 5 stars.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, history, cleanliness. Breakfast was great.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The building is historic and the facility is modern.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: It was a pretty room. The reception Axel and all the girls were very friendly.
Cons: No air conditioning and it was very hot in Rothenburg. The overhead fan is on a timer so I had to get up many times at night to restart it. Breakfast was mediocre. Parking is on the street and if you don’t get a new parking permit by 9 AM it’s a 15 euro fine. Which you have to struggle to find the town office to pay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a fabulous place. Location was fantastic. It is right on one of the most prestigious streets in Rothenburg 50 feet from the town square. Building is beautifully remodeled. A wonderful combination old old and new amenities.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Owner and Personal very friendly. The house is just breath taking with all the medieval details. The reading corner next to the reception is so lovely. The room and the bathroom were huge. The hotel is in the old city, thus in the center of the main attraction.
Cons: Breakfast was very simple. No carpets on the floor in the room, so we had to have shoes on all the time. Floor is hard wood and tiles. There are slippers in the drawer under the sink in the bathroom, though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the market square and center of town. Amazing “Old World” feeling and ambiance. Great breakfast, which is included. Overall a great experience!
Cons: Parking was not convenient or easy. Valet service for car and luggage would have been helpful. Shower was part of the tub, separate shower would be nice.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, Location, Location -- fantastic! Parking was close to the property and free from 9PM to 9AM. Great staff at check in and breakfast. Price was decent. Cute place. Has an elevator for those that don't like climbing with luggage. Typical breakfast however eggs are cooked fresh as staff takes your order as you enter room.
Cons: The room was really, really small, bumped my head on the ceiling, ouch! The bed mattress was too worn out to be comfortable and the pillows need replaced in the room I was in, thus I woke up with a very sore neck. My husband was not a fan as it was too small for comfort and agreed the beds were too soft and hurt his back.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting excellent food and very helpful staff. Have stayed on 3 occasions and now go out of my way to visit
Cons: Only problem was flies near mill stream but this is expected on a very hot day
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel in beautiful landscape at the edge of a little village. We stayed at the older of the two hotel buildings, spacious room and bathroom. Good food at the restaurant.
Cons: No bar area to take pre or after dinner drinks, we were directed to the dinner table when we asked where we could have a drink. Since there is only a small village nearby, there really was nowhere else to go. We ate dinner at their restaurant, good food but the courses followed way too fast. By about 10:00 p.m. we were the last guests in the restaurant and the wait staff started setting tables for the next day and seemed eager to call it a night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: After having stayed in cute older properties on our trip it was nice to spend the night in a brand new property where everything worked.
Cons: I hadn't realised that it would be so "corporate" as it is in the middle of nowhere.I didn't expect a conference room etc etc
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located in a quiet area, in German country side, so it is good to rest and walk around the hotel in the green areas. The breakfast is very good with a lot of options and regional and home made products. The room was clean and very cosy. I also recommend the restaurant, the service is good and the food is very good. I recommend this hotel.
Cons: Everything was good! I recommend!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Rustic looking atmosphere but the rooms were quite modern and comfortable, the bathroom looked like it had been done up recently. The staff were amazing, they were really accommodating despite my rusty German. The food downstairs was good although possibly a little on the pricey side. 15 minute drive away from Rothenburg o.d. Tauber in a quaint little village away from the busy touristy area by Rothenburg. We had a lovely stay.
Cons: Can't think of any negatives! The town was a bit in the middle of nowhere but if you have a car it's no problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Besides having a uniquely nice host and owner (Mrs. Theresa), it had very good and clean rooms. However, the best part of staying at this guesthouse is the superb food. We had two of the best meals in our lives. Everything is excellent here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We received a very warm welcome with ideal storage in the garage for our bikes. We had a good-sized room with a very comfortable bed. Mittermeiers Alter Ego - Rothenburg ob der Tauber - Building

9.2 Excellent (224 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Mittermeiers Alter Ego in Rothenburg ob der Tauber (Middle Franconia), you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Rothenburg Town Hall and Tauber Valley. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: we really enjoyed our time here. It is a modern & clean room in an interesting hotel. The air conditioning was wonderful as it was very hot when we stayed. The bed was very comfortable. Fast wifi. Very close to the town gates so it is very convenient.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything. the concept they have by the Alter Ego is great and makes you feel like you're at home. To talk about the room itself first, we were amazed by the beautiful style, all the details and a super comfy bed. Besides, having two shower?! It can't get much better than this. The reception area is a common area with no reception haha. Basically it's an open kitchen area where you can use as you want and if you consume any food/beverage it's on you to fill out the form and leave it there. they will charge you late. We definitely loved this hotel and would recommend it to everyone.
Cons: Perhaps the checkin process could be a little easier. if you do not have the app to check in on your own when you get at the hotel (I downloaded it, but did not work), you have to walk to their 'other-ego' hotel, just around the corner and checkin/check out with them. A small harassment that don't impact your overall experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, restaurant, room was fantastic... bed was very comfortable. The staff was very accommodating.
Cons: If I was to find one fault it was no elevator... but the hotel was charming... great location.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved this hotel. Really unique little place. Super clean and we loved the communal kitchen and lounging area. Super convenient. Kind of felt like a upscale, luxury hostel. The bed was wonderful. Walking distance to everything. Great air conditioning. Amazing parking right next to the hotel. I would definitely stay here again!
Cons: Everything was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy beds, friendly staff and honor bar was so convenient!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and original. The breakfast was excellent. The concept of a communal kitchen really nice with a very reasonable offer of food and drinks.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great, but at 16 Euro's, it would be suited only for someone that wants a big meal.
Cons: Didn't care for the décor in the room, looks like something that came off the show "Will and Grace." Didn't care at all for the see-thru shower, and the sink was just a big bowl.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the "deluxe" room and when we were led into it, I gasped at the elegance and beauty. The thrill never left. One side of the room was our comfortable bed across from a large Sony TV and a desk with sufficient outlets for my computer station. The room had its own router and my internet connection was excellent. The other "half" of the room included a free standing LONG porcelain bathtub, a very modern sink, a shower with separate heads and controls for 2 people and of course a commode. We went to their associated restaurant for a 10 course tasting menu dinner ... I didn't venture to Rothenburg until the next day!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Parking, awesome location, coolest room
Cons: Nothing to dislike

Pros: Successful mix of modern design in old building, beautifully renovated; clean; dog-friendly; good parking; excellent breakfast at Villa Mittermeier next door
Cons: Nothing not to like (we didn’t see a lift and our room was on the second floor but it didn’t in any way detract from enjoying the property)

Pros: Very charming German hotel right in the center of Rothenburg- liked that it was just off the busier streets, but still so close. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and nicely decorated. It was hot during our stay so it was nice they had a few stand up fans around our room. Good traditional breakfast. Night Watchman tour is a must!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a lovely and charming hotel in an amazingly charming and lovely town. The property owners are wonderful and make you feel at home. It was a highlight of our trip meeting this kind family. All of the staff was also so nice and helpful. Location is great, just a quick walk to everything you’d want to see. Our room was clean and charming, yet still had every modern amenity (even to keep our two teenagers happy). The breakfast is great. And our dinner in their restaurant was probably the best meal we had on our trip. Highly recommend the restaurant. We recommend this hotel and will stay here again.

Pros: Staff was amazing! Wonderful people. The food was excellent. Everything was spotless. The location was absolutely perfect. Breakfast was very nice.

We stayed here almost 20 years ago and loved it just as much than as we do now! Great place to fully experience this wonderful town.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic room! was modern, but filled with antiques and charm.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location!
Cons: The location inside the town walls is terrific, but be forewarned that the streets are very narrow cobblestones and can be difficult to navigate - be patient and take your time. It’s worth it to stay so close to city center.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very close to walled city, parking next door for small fee, nice breakfast
Cons: Room was hot, fan but no air conditioning made sleeping difficult, decor tired, self serve coffee available but no tea
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location just by the walls, we paid for a view and got a great room with our own inside balcony. Hotel has lots of character and the staff are really friendly. Wide selection of things for breakfast. You park in Car Park 4 just across the path from the hotel 5.5Euros for 24 hrs - machines take credit cards - very easy.
Cons: The windows could do with a lick of paint, but it's characterful!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, wifi, breakfast, staff
Cons: Outdated interior design and I saw some ants in my room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 4 nights so had plenty of time to notice and appreciate the details and care taken to make guests’ stay comfortable. Location just outside city wall is excellent. Remarkably spacious room for the price. Bed was beyond comfortable with clean linens. The bathroom with shower is modern and very clean. The breakfast buffet was perhaps the best I’ve experienced: fresh Brötchen and breads, a variety of cheeses, meats, cereals, and fantastic fresh fruit bowl, boiled egg freshly prepared, and coffee, tea, or cappuccino made on request.
Cons: All aspects were to our liking.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: No air conditioning
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice location, beyond the main walls, but really close to the main tourist area. Parking in front. Relatively good child services, babycot, toys and play-mats. Interesting building and garden for kids. Spacey room, decorated with taste.
Cons: However the garden looks abandoned and would benefit from a serious make-over. The normal and extra beds were quite old and cranky. No extra hygienic bags besides the two trash cans. At the arrival the receptionist was kind and explained everything, but the second one at the check-out was really something else. I had to explain myself in German for several minutes why I want to pay with our Luxembourgish debit card, what is a debit card and so on. Finally she gave it a try and it passed through the payment procedure without any issue. I was thinking why she behaved in this manner and I realised nothing was wrong with my German. She just couldn't imagine a Hungarian and Romanian couple with a kid, passing one night, living in Luxembourg, having a local bank card. My name is the most common name in Central Europe, so obviously I would try to cheat with the payment. Such a shameful treatment, never again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is fabulous. The staff was more than friendly and gave excellent restaurant recommendations, especially when they knew we would arrive late. The room was huge, especially for European standards. It was perfect for a family. And the breakfast is delicious!!

Pros: The villa was beautiful. The interior reflected the elegance of the former villa. While some of the furnishings were not new, they reflected the style of the hotel beautifully. The staff was very helpful. The included breakfast was tasty. The location just outside the city wall was perfect. Hotel was quiet and comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely helpful staff, great location right by the city walls with cheap parking next door, fabulous breakfast, lovely room with comfy beds, even the cold beers available on the landing were cheap!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, from the extremely professional and accommodating employees, to the clean and comfortable rooms, to the amazing breakfast. There are several hotels to choose from in Crailsheim, but this is the only one at which I will stay.
Cons: Air conditioning would make this already excellent hotel perfect.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast. Friendly staff helped us with luggage. Free fruits available. Quiet neigbourhood (no trains, no highway...) A supermarket in 10 min. walking distance.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I have already written an evaluation on this accommodation, and my opinion has not changed based on the service we received. Quoting myself from my earlier evaluation: "We chose this hotel, because it had a decent location on our trip back home, however, it offered finally way more. The room was comfortably big and super clean. Staff was nice and helpful. And the hotel offered a fantastic breakfast."
Cons: Still nothing to add on this item. The only thing is that maybe this hotel is bit "off the road" for an overnight stay, but for me it is still worth doing for this hotel.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We chose this hotel, because it had a decent location on our trip back home, however, it offered finally way more. The room was comfortably big and super clean. Staff was nice and helpful. And the hotel offered a fantastic breakfast.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was delicious with so much variety!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were good - professional but could have been a tad more helpful - especially when it came to parking. There was no parking on premise and Rothenburg is a very compact medieval village. I understood in advance there was no on-site parking but we could have used a little more guidance with this important detail. Otherwise we LOVED the hotel and the location was perfect.
Cons: More help with securing parking
8.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and served us a lovely breakfast in their dining room. We had plenty of room for our family of four.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect, in the old city. very good brekfast. confortable beds. big room. clean. friendly host gave as the tip for the night watch tour wich was amasing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent. The Plönlein is just down the street right around the corner. My family took a load of photos at different hours of the day every time we walked past the site, just couldn't get enough of its unearthly magnificence. The hotel is also close to the town wall where old Die Gerlachschmiede is situated and a children's playground stands right outside the entrance gate. Watching my kids climbing up and down the wooden facilities of the playground, raising my gaze against the surrounding walls and towers was one of my fondest memories during my stay in Germany. The hotel breakfast was delicious. Coffee and hot chocolate were served at the table. The dining room had a quaint atmosphere where people tend to speak softly while admiring its décor and settings. Parking was fairly easy, had to reserve in advance with a small charge. The only problem was that I had a bit of trouble finding the right door to knock on when we arrived! We were the first set of guests perhaps, showing up a bit early in the afternoon, so the garage door that leads to the front desk of the hotel was not yet opened for the day. I fumbled around the flowery bushes outside the building, knocking on all possible doors, tried turning some doorknobs hoping no one would think that I'm a trespasser! Open sesame. The host was kind and informative. Gave us a map to help us start our tour around town. Our room was spacious. Extra single beds were real beds, not sofa beds, equipped with reading lamps.
Cons: The bathroom I suppose, a bit outdated. It's an old house in the heart of an old town, what can I say. The shower was small, water runs all over the bathroom floor easily. The sink faucet was meant to be a decorative piece of art, however, I didn't favor the smell of brass left on my hands every time I turn on and off the water. The Buddha picture hanging above the toilet was a bit creepy for my boy. He said it felt struggling to have a divine God staring down at him when he's doing his thing XD There's a pungent stench in the room, not at all bothering though, as I'm used to all sorts of smells in Asia. The smell of vinegar? The smell followed me to my next destination when I opened up my bags. Whew! I'm back in Rothenburg ob der Tauber! XD

Pros: There can be no better location for a hotel to visit the old town of Rothenburg. Although we stayed there for only one night, because of its location, we experienced all the fascinating places of Rothenburg, which were all within walking distance. The room was large, cozy and comfortable, clean and air-conditioned at a reasonable level. The dinner in the hotel restaurant was excellent, the restaurant staff did their best, we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious too. The car parking is located behind, next to the magical garden of the restaurant. The hotel is old and unique and overall the experience was very good. Cons: Stayed only one night, didn’t notice anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is like a medieval, fairy-tale castle in a beautiful setting. My husband, son, and I were greeted by a smiling young woman who checked us in, and actually walked with us down the street to guide us to their parking lot, due to road construction in the area. The rooms were beautiful, and one of our rooms had a gorgeous, canopy bed and antique furniture. The windows opened to an awesome view of the town, a bird's nest on the top of a tower, and flower boxes on the window sill. There was a knight in armor in the second floor lobby. We ate dinner outdoors in their lovely garden restaurant. The food and service were exquisite and the servers were always smiling. The breakfast was in a lovely dining room, with a large assortment of meats, cheeses, fruits, croissants, breads, pretzels, coffees, and eggs made to order. We left the next morning, and were over an hour away before we realized my son had left his cell phone in his room. We couldn't go back because we had to catch a train from Nuremberg in the afternoon. When we arrived in Berlin, we called the hotel and explained the situation. The hotel had found the phone and was keeping it for us. When we arrived back home, we got an email from Jurgen, the hotel manager, saying we forgot our phone. We asked Jurgen to send the phone to us in the states and we exchanged many emails trying to arrange that. Jurgen checked with the German postal service and shipping companies but no one would ship the phone due to its battery. After a week of researching on both our parts, we found out that FedEx could ship the phone from Germany to the USA with an import shipping document. Jurgen arranged to have FedEx Germany email me the correct process to do this, and I sent him the document via email. Jurgen packaged the phone and arranged for its pickup. Last week we received the phone in great condition! We are forever thankful to Jurgen, his family, and staff for a wonderful stay and incredible support!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Situated in the heart of the town. Easy to walk everywhere. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options.
Cons: Had to pay for onsite parking. I think they should consider including this in their room rate.

Pros: Location is excellent. Right next to an old town entrance. Only 5 minutes or so from the town centre
Cons: The bedroom with the double bed up against a wall. And a desk at the bottom of the bed. It made it very uncomfortable getting out of bed in the middle of the night. If you needed it to go to the loo during the night you had to climb over (and wake) your partner

Cons: Room faced road into town. We were there on a Saturday night. Didn’t think that it would be noisy by looking at it, but it was. Lots of young men in cars driving into/out of town plus large trucks. View of car dealership.
