The location was good, security was good, car parking was good. Comfortable, good spa - good facilities. Nice hotel with lots of relax areas to sit. Rooms well equipped - would stay here again if business or leisure takes me to this part of the country again. Only niggle was that room service for evening meal did not start until 7pm Room service times and choices.
It was close to where I had a business appointment. The prices of beer at the bar are excessive.
Pleasant staff good food and ease of service no
The reception manager was absolutely superb.
Excellent value and the room was lovely. The staff were very helpful and the location was excellent. Breakfast was delicious. It was also very quiet and I had a lovely nights rest. I did struggle a bit with the shower rose as it seemed a bit heavy. I got there in the end
Friendly, efficient staff. Reception staff recognised me from my previous visit.
Hotel and staff very welcoming
Easy booking, efficient service, well-appointed room, good food, easy access to the university, great value for money. It would be helpful to supply face flannels; lack of a proper shower cubicle or glass/perspex shower section that keeps the floor dry; breakfast finishes perhaps an hour too early on weekends.
Clean tidy smart rooms. The Lodge rooms are not value for money for what they. The bar prices are very expensive.
Relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and happy to help. Swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi was spot on. confusing to find as you enter through what looks like gates to an industrial estate, until you buzz in and get a grumpy security guard.
quiet and basic no internal telephones were working during our stay, so hence no room service unless you went t reception expensive for a basic hotel, maybe they have put the price up for graduation week?
Room was well equipped and staff were attentive,Hotel well positioned for shopping and rugby/football
Warm and welcoming public spaces. Excellent breakfast.
Convenient location, efficient staff. Comfortable, everything worked as it should do. Breakfast; the smoked haddock and poached eggs were both overcooked!
Very nice facility, in a good location, with staff ready to help. Ice buckets and an ice machine, please!
Friday night deal - excellent value as always.
It was warm and comfortable on a very cold night, and the room had everything I needed. The tray with kettle, cups etc for hot drinks was in the wardrobe, which was not very obvious; and there was no convenient electrical point for the kettle.
+Pleasant enviroment and quality of service Minor but important health and safety issue -fixed shelf with kettle directly above TV and flex too short to reach electrical socket.Suggest relocate shelf or TV
the room was very compfy although the bathroom did have some stray hairs that belonged to neither me or my partner
The bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly.
The staff were very pleasant and tried to help The room had no view -frosted windows- the lights were not working and faulty. It was basic.
Room pleasant and modern, staff efficient and helpful. Good location in centre of town. Convenient car park. The lift is small and always seemed to be full. This was annoying as most if the passengers had no luggage but we had to use the stairs with our luggage, despite trying to get in the the lift several times. Also, would like to have had a minibar in the room.
excellent central location
The staff were pleasant and the public rooms were very impressive. The noise from the function rooms disturbed us until 1am the first night, so we asked to be moved, which they did, for the second night.
The room was wide and the bathroom as well. Excelent location in the city centre. The room was quite dusty and the carbet looked old.
Location in city centre - lots of interesting places to eat within the vicinity Size of the room - small
The bed was the most comfortable i'd ever slept on, the room was modern, spotless, large. It felt very luxurious! Everything in my room appeared new, like a show-home, straight out of an interior design magazine.Excellent. Well i did have a room which overlooked Leicester's main street, but it was Saturday night and so i expected a degree of noise. By the time i got back in (3.30am) it had all but died down.
good central location
the location the hotel; typical ramada, 2 to 3 star trying to be a 4, my room felt like a childerns home / nursing home, bare, minimal. any other 4 star would be much much better.
Clean, friendly, spaceous
The decor and staff were memorable. Even a local power cut couldn't throw them off beat with complimentary hot drinks and snacks served in reception. Beds too soft for me but really I am struggling to find anything wrong
Very comfortable rooms,friendly staff.
Modern Hotel Hassle free parking staff helpful There was some social event in evening our room was right above it a bit noisy till 2 am
the reception staff was very accomodating (gave late checkout easily) and friendly.
Pool & Room MIxx resturaunt
The comfortable beds and the breakfast selection
Luxurious bed, very good shower, excellent breakfast, very helpful, efficient and friendly staff. Room too hot even with air conditioning. No enough tea for two people to have two cups. Couldn't open fridge. Swimming pool not working.
Very quiet place to live for a night with family. A little bit of smile at the reception would be very welcoming
Very helpful and pleasant staff
no proper restaurant in the area;
big bathroom, nice beds
Met expectations. Decent value for money.
Cleanliness of the room and location. No food available at half ten at night.
it was small pokey smelly boring and cold!
Not a lot Lack of decent restaurant & no bar facilities
would prefer facilities for a 'cooked breakfast' although the continental was very nice would feel car was more secure if there was a separate car park for days inn hotel
Great value for money. Excellent greeting at reception, room in very good condition, modern, wifi -- all exceeded expectation. It apperared my reservation wasn't on the system, but it transpired that my firstname & last name had been combined, which was why it couldnt be found initially
The bed was comfortable. Window did not lock or close properly, The noise from the motorway was excessive.
Easy to get to with adjacent undercover parking.Within walking distance of City Centre. There was no late bar facility on the night of our stay. The 2 rooms we booked had 1 double bed in each room and not twin beds as our online booking suggested and what we expected!
Despite being very busy, the hotel rooms were quiet at night. Should be upfront that it costs £5 to park the car.
Location, The Hotel, and breakfast.
Good location for business meetings attended and was the purpose of the visit It would have been useful to have instructions on how to use the heating appliance in the room. The room was quite cool even though the heater was set at warmest setting, it still was not very warm
The frienlyness of the staff No
Good location, quiet and clean rooms
i was given a room with a one double bed whwn i asked for a twin room which was clearly stated on my booking form, when i queried this i was spoken to in a very rude way and had to show the receptionist the booking form which stated clearly what i had booked, she didnt apologise
Extremely noisy, woken at 4.00 a.m. by other guests. Hotel staff did not seem to do anything for at least an hour.
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff
Location and staff. Lack of towels and pillows
Quick check-in,friendly, nice room. Good position for our function
Staff were helpful and generally friendly. Good facilities & safe parking I don't think the breakfast is worth the seperate price - we stayed in the Express Holiday Inn last year and although there was no cooked breakfast it was at least included with the room price which counts for a lot when you are already spending a lot of money on flights, rooms and other holiday expenses (eg eating out).
The location was better than we had anticipated, just a short walk to the main shopping area. We really just booked it for an overnight stay to break our long journey, but it turned out to be perfect for us.,
I loved the comfortable bed and the friendly bar area. I did not have enough milk & suger.
Secure parking, price and location.
Comfortable and clean room. Apparently chaotic control of staff, the restaurant was supposed to be open until 2145, although my order was taken at 2135 I was subsequently advised that the chef was going home ! The bar was supposed to close at 0100, it closed at 2300 and as the night porter had not arrived there could be no service due to 'health and safety' reasons ? Not what I call an acceptable level of service !
The layout of the hotel, an the staff been at your service when needed. Nope
The room was clean enough, the television worked. It was as I would have expected based on previous experience of Campanile. Noisy, not enough milk for hot drinks. Staff did not seem to speak very good English.
the breakfast was too small to entice our party to have one. instead we enjoyed a big breakfast around the corner. a french owned hotel with the typical english values of not giving value for money.there is nothing worse than paying for a meal eating it then leaving hungry.although the hotel is dirty, it is not yet highly visible the problem needs to be arrested in its infancy. there was water staining on the ceiling in the bathroom and an orange substance in and around the shower head (i did not use the shower for this reason. the corner behind the bathroom door was dirty the floor had been cleaned but the insoluble dirt and hair was deposited here. there was a substance on the headboard that should have been cleaned off before our arrival but was missed there was some damage to the room ie iron burn on the carpet, chipped bath, door lock fitting. my overall view is that there is a lack of inspection with regards to the cleaning and the breakfast should be larger.for an hotel at this current standard £35-£38 per night would be more appropriate
Hotel was clean and well taken care of. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only problem I had was the coffee counter in the lobby. Tried to pay tab but the person manning the counter looked a little overwhelmed at the time due to what looked like being unfamiliar with equipment. Not even sure she paid the amount on the right tab because she was so stressed. But, that can happen in any job.
Hotel was easy to find, had a beautiful courtyard view and on site dining. No lift. Staff in the restaurant did a poor job of explaining meal options and tending to our table. Parking fee.
Comfortable, excellent gym facilities. Helpful/friendly bar/cafe personnel. Reception staff unhelpful when I pointed out that their bank machine was not working, and asked them to provide me with £ UK. Eventually exchanged my Euros, at a ridiculous rate. Also: tables in restaurant left uncleared in the evenings. Not pleasant eating surrounded by the remains left by earlier diners. More MacDonalds than Hilton!
Spacious rooms, helpful courteous staff, clean and pleasant surroundings No fridge/ mini bar in the room. the swimming pool was advertised as open until 10.30 on weekdays but I was asked to get out of the pool at 10.05
The style of the hotel. Very nice and welcoming The distance I had to go to get into the city centre.
Nice spacious, comfortable roon Being woken by handyman in next room at 7-730am, followed by the fire alarm gping off. At which no point were any staff on hand to explain what was going on, despite me waiting in the corridor for a member of staff.
Difficult to locate.
Good pool/sauna bathroom a bit tired
beds so comfy, room nice and clean, loads of lovely towels
Very helpful/cheerful staff. Location. Very expensive on all points I.e rooms rate, drinks & food. No free Wi Fi and tired room standards. Bathrooms have not been updated since the early 90's? At check out was charged the wrong rate twice?
Conveniently located near to station and city centre. Quiet comfortable room and fast and efficient check-in and check-out. I'll stay again.
That I could park for free, although limited. My toilet design, as it was suspended from the wall and I did not feel it was safe.
Its proximity to the cultural quarter. It is a little on the noisy side, traffic and trains.
Good value for money. Basic but clean and conveniently located.
When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by the receptionist who was absolutely exccellent. She was very helpful, asked If I had been to Leicester before which I hadnt and she told me places of interest to visit. She made me feel welcome straight away. The hotel was modern and clean. Service was excellent and also the rooms were very comfortable. I would definately stay there again I cannot think of any bad points.
Train station anouncer
Very close to the station Would have liked free wifi
Convenient for Railway station and City centre Well maintained modern hotel As a 'football hotel' a little too far from the ground 15/20min walk Very disappointed by the buffet breakfast which did not offer value for money or adequate choice compared with say a Premium Inn
Friendly, informative, clean, well designed, good position for city centre and public transport
central location I would have been more comfortable with an extra pillow.
The hotel was brand spanking new and clean with refreshig decor'. The water was turned off when we arrived, my husband had a cold shower! The tv did not work during our stay. Staff were sympathetic and offered to move us.
The location for donington park, some of the staff, the leisure facilities. The food in the restaurant was horrific
The hotel is bright, modern and cheerful and is within easy reach of university and town
The location was very convenient. It would have been appreciated if some effort had been made to clear the entrance / carpark of snow - however it was a particularly bad snap of weather. Worst aspect was the room heating - the automatic thermostat was not working - not discovered on my first night. I was very cold. Switched to manual it was OK. Staff should have checked it as they showed me the room - with my poor eyesight the instructions on controls were unreadable.
Friendliness of the staff, The volume of noise from other rooms and the corridors.
The room was very old and had no toilet paper, broken shower curtain and generally very run down. Breakfast was a shambles as they ran out of some items of food and long delays happened because of large numbers of people trying to eat at the same time.
very poor quality service.food. bedroom not clean after complaints was not attended to.newspaper not delivered or available in reception
Cleanliness, location and the room decor were all perfect. Friendly and helpful staff. Great value for money. The tv didn't work in our room so we had to move-not a problem but could of been tested previously.
Locality - close to University
local to the venue we were attending
Clean and tidy up to date, been twice now. Would stap again if in Leicester. Like the way you can order food to be delivered
The bathroom was emaculate As above. It also wasn't very pleasent eating my breakfast watching water pour through the ceiling and catched (not all of it) in a strategically placed bucket. I also felt sorry for the waitress on duty at breakfast. She really needed extra help. One person was completely insufficient for the task in hand.
Location was just in the correct place for me That the breakfast was not open till 10-30am on a weekend and finished at 10am
Clean, cost, location Staff unfriendly, not a smile in site!
Almost perfect. Unfortunately no full English.
Clean, comfortable. Staff were efficient and helpful. The much-publicised restaurant had been booked for a private party, so there was no dinner available on-site. This meant phoning for a pizza and eating in the lobby or my room - not quite what I'd hoped for.
clean, free secured parking, good buffet breakfast
All usual nice standard from Novotel. I particularly like the fact that the reception staff know good places to go for a jog. Access to terrace through a fire escape not particularly welcoming.
Clean and modern hotel good surroundings Heatig within room was only available when actually in the room in person due to the inserting of the door opening card to get electricity lights etc. This made the room very cold.
No to my taste at all. Thought it was going to be a traditional style, but had been bistro-ised!
Great value for money.
Good choice of menu and comfortable room. Good value but, it was term holiday with room price discounted. Creeking floorboards. Unable to use leisure facilities - review opening times for business users
good facilities and value
The bar at the hotel restaurant was open late and pleasant We were not informed that a newspaper would cost £1 when it was offered as we checked in
staff and facilities excellent the room was large enough to put a bigger bed in it rather than standard double
Far too noisy at night, turn out from live band function went on until after 1am. Wouldn't return for that reason alone.
How lovely the room was and how polite and helpful the staff were. n/a
Excellent setting, edge of town and surrounded by countryside I requested a quiet room but was given one next to a very loud AC fan. I was moved reluctantly. No breakfast included. It felt they resented giving the cheap rate. Service attitude was poor.
Reception staff were excellent and there was overall a good state of decoration> It was disappointing to be able to hear clearly the conversations from the adjoining rooms. Also the hotel was noisy late at night and early in the morning.
Waited 45 minutes for breakfast after ordering. Room was very basic. No one at reception to book in. Unfriendly staff
The public rooms and the grounds
Very good restaurant and pl;easant staff Change the shower curtains to screens
The building and grounds are beautiful. The breakfast was great. The rooms are very dated unfortunately. We asked to move from our room for the second night as the walls in the bathroom were bubbling from damp and the shower head was mouldy. My husband highlighted these issues to the receptionist as we have a 4 month old baby and were not comfortable staying in there a second night with him. She reluctantly found us another room and wasn't very friendly. The room is definitely not worth £80 per night.
Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, value for money particularly restaurant and breakfast. Great food, generous portions. Lovely building and location. Good shower and lovely clean, soft towels. General shabbiness and need of updating. Decor in the annexe is ancient and tired as are carpets and much of the furniture. .
Character & charm with excellent service
Did not like the fact that my daughter and I were put in the annexe rather than the main body of the hotel. Walls a bit thin - could hear other guests and annexe nearer the road so it was noisier.
The choice on the breakfast menu was very good We were disappointed to walk into our room to find a single bed especially since it was the night of our wedding and i had been standing there in a wedding dress when the man on reception gave us our room key. It should have been clear that we were due to stay in a double room not a single room. A bit of foresight from him would have avoided this frustration and disappointment.
The gardens and the outdoor seating. The main house could do with a little more care and attention. The room we were given was very small and at the top of the house - not good value compared with the many other hotels we have visited in recent years both here and abroad.
Our room was excellent - beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Old CRT TV - with poor picture. Door in bathroom was a folding door and this was awkward to close, but otherwise a beautiful place to stay.
It was really comfortable, room was spacious and light. We used it as we were going to the Great Western Railway, staff were friendly and it was a nice breakfast.
Very helpful staff who gave us quick access to our room to change to attend a wedding. Transport was arranged for us when we were unable to book a taxi ourselves. Good freshly cooked breakfast. Bathroom very small
The staff were delightful, and made us feel very welcome. The room was recently refurbished and spotless. I was good to have off-street parking - it felt very safe. Everything was wonderful except the mattress - rather creaky!
Personal attention and service
Large room with four poster bed. Everything was okay. Nothing not to like.
Very Friendly service food super and rooms very clean made for a lovely stay
The staff were polite and friendly, breakfast was very english and the room 15 across the passage was a delight, king size bed and a large bath/shower room also very clean and tidy.
We didn't really stay long enough - only overnight. However, we were given a friendly welcome and they made sure we had everything we needed, were warm enough etc.
Room Friendliness Taking the money before the stay. The poor full english breakfast No cricket on tv!
Readiness of staff to meet our needs. Small bathrooms and noisy plumbing.
Nice rooms, ours was facing the garden at the back. I like the quarkiness of the rooms. It was good to have a restaurant in the hotel and the food was good. The staff were friendly. Also, it is located in a nice village, 10 minutes drive from Loughborough, which is where we had to be one early morning. Not much comes to mind. A little gripe: we appreciated the Molton Brown toiletries, but only one little bottle of shower gel?
Staff fre wifi free water in room Electric heater worked intermittently and inspection overdue main light in bathroom not wotrkin carpet dirty footprints no napkins offered in the bar
Great food and excellent service Room rather dusty
The Hunting Lodge was comfortable and well situated for our purposes
The room & the atmosphere No
Warm welcome. Spacious room. Dinner main meal very poor (both our meals). Based on other hotels I have stayed at, this is over-priced for what it is.
Friendly helpful staff, comfortable rooms, decent food, well situated for Loughborough First stay in bika was quite noisy, maybe due to proximity to bar. Would not book that again. Second night in louis was perfect. Would book again.
friendly and hospitable staff
Food very good and value for money, and served in very nice dining area. Staff very helpful and attentive. Great choice of real ale in the bar. Room comfortable and quiet. The room was very dark - (Fagin) - understandable as a result of the dark red colour scheme. However, couldn't even see into the wardrobe - needs far better lighting options - understand that other rooms don't have the same issue.
I feel that this property took advantage of us in a couple of ways. 1. I booked two rooms and requested adjoining rooms. Instead I was given two handicapped rooms on different floors.. The clerk refused to provide us with any other accommodation. The rooms for 4 nights each were booked at the end of April, 2016 for our stay July 12 to 17, 2016. I feel that because we booked through ***** we were given the worst rooms available when we arrived, even though we booked more than 21\2 months before our stay.Clearly this hotel baited us and at no time mentioned that handicapped rooms were what we would receive for our money. The receptionist\clerk was indifferent to our protests Had I known this I would have booked at a more reputable hotel. The Ramada Encore misled us by failing to disclose the type of room that we would receive and saved both handicapped rooms on different floors, when adjoining rooms were requested. 2. The rooms were clearly advertised as having " air conditioning" which they did not. The hotel clerk advised that they " don't have that any longer" and offered a fan instead. This was unacceptable as our booking clearly indicated that each room had air conditioning. Windows had to be kept open for ventilation, however the outside noise continued outside til well past 4am some nights. This was a case of false advertising, and again was a way of baiting us for a substandard room. Once again I feel that a ***** client was taken advantage of . I would not stay here again and would not recommend it.
