The location of the hotel, the interesting courtyard and the comfort of the bedroom There was notghing we didn't like
The location of the hotel suited our needs perfectly, as it was a stop over on our drive home from the south of France & it meant we didn't have a long journey to Calais the next day. The building itself was beautiful & it was nice to see a modern design/decor incorporated into a traditional building. The staff were friendly, efficient & very helpful & when we were unable to eat in their restaurant as it was full, they reccomended & booked a lovely alternative. That we weren't there for longer & that it was raining heavily so we were unable to explore the area!!
A magnificent beautiful and very romantic hotel in the heart of the centre, excellent location. Very friendly, helpful, good-looking and attentive multilangual personel. It was clean, big badroom with separated shower and bath, decent material. There was an apart room for the toilet, which is always a plus. An enormous and very comfort supersized bed: wish I had that one at home! The closet was big, spacious and full-mirored. A big indoor swimming pool located in the wellness and a giant hamam with music and a starsky. The breakfast was not a huge buffet, but you had everything you could wish for plus the quality of the food was superbe. Delicious! Spacy room but looked a bit 'empty', no little salon, nor those little extras like some chocolat, some fruit or fresh flowers to welcome you. But there was a bottle of water. No device to play music. A minus on the toilet for the ladies was the absence of a bin. We had a problem with gaining warm water the first night, but this was probably due erroneous use. The welness was very relaxing but unfortunately it was sometimes a bit noisious due playing children.
The cleanliness. The design of the hotel. Staff so helpful, spa facilities brilliant. Will def go back. NOTHING
Service, food, and facility were all outstanding. Nothing
Excelent location, good staff and facilites. On site parking is welcome and valued the decor and facilities in the bedrooms were poor and outdated, but generally clean and adequate
Friendly reception even at 4:30 am!!! Poorly signposted, very difficult to find.
The location The restaurant wasn't open, but it was a public holiday
Clean, good, but unobtrusive service Was ok.
The very pleasant hotel. The rooms is small but very comfortable. It`s not possible to reach the hotel by car. The very, very small lift.
The location in the centre with car parking.
All three of the women at the front desk were extremely helpful both with room and town questions. We had an early departure and were taken care of graciously.
The Location Access to the hotel by car not easy to find.
We liked our 6 day stay. The rooms were clean and quiet. This hotel is located where most tourists would like to be. The staff was extremely helpful and quite friendly. When there was a confusion about whether we wanted one big bed or two singles they easily fixed the problem to our satisfaction. The breakfast room was quite good.
We stayed one night en route to Calais after travelling from South West France. Hotel difficult to find and we parked in public car park in the market which was only a short walk away. Very pleasant decor and nice comfortable room though a bit small and dark. Location is fantastic and for a one night stay, we were on the square close to all the restaurants and shops, was just perfect. We got a very good deal with trip advisor so thought hotel excellent value for money. Would recommend. Difficulty in finding hotel. Directions should be given with booking in view of location. Room rather small and dark.
The location.. so close to the Cathetral, the Gros Horloge, shopping. The room was very small for 2.
Nothing special , type of hotel you will not remember except for the extraordinary attitude of 2 employees at the reception desk who were very helpful. The access by car is very complicated and parking very narrow.
The friendly and helpful nature of the staff, a very good breakfast, and fine location for sightseeing
location, friendliness of staff, promptness of service the room was not made up early enough
Rooms are small but well furnished. The location is very convenient for tourism and the underground car park is very useful. The bed was too firm and the air conditioning was noisy and ineffective.
Excellent location, good facilities, very clean.
Very nice location in central city. It may be difficult to find hotel by car. But i think it is usal in France due to many uni direction road.
Very pleasant and helpfull staff. Good local knowledge too. Rooms alittle on the small side.
location uncomfortable bed, small room, expensive bar/mini bar
The hotels location is superb for site seeing but very difficult to find, the availability of car parking is a joke. The hotel is fine just finding it and somewhere to park were the flies in the ointment.
Personal touch, very friendly staff, beautiful location. Nothing, it was lovely, we would stay there again.
It had the nicest room of any we stayed in in France. Parking lot didn't have enough spaces for all guests to park.
The best advantage of this hotel is the location. It is easy walking distance to all sights, shopping and restaurants.
Very central and had an old French charm Parking was difficult
proximity to city; quaintness of the surroundings
Receptionists were friendly and welcoming. Hotel is full of character No Parking. Carpets on stairs is worn and corridors were needing decorating. Poor signage in hotel
very central, nice spacious rooms parking and possibility to reach the hotel by car
Location and ambiance.. It is a typical French hotel and not like a chain hotel at all, individual but well decorated. Bed very comfortable and staff fine, even when we stayed beyond checkout time.
Location. Old French charm. Free use of internet. Breakfast better than expected. Shower facility and bathroom better than expected. No. For the price, in France, this was pretty good all round. If I tried I could probably find fault, as in any hotel anywhere!
This place is very quaint. It is in a great location next to the cathedral and is clean and comfortable despite being obviously very old (and by that I don't mean worn down - I mean that you can tell the building has been there forever but it is well taken care of). There is a nice court yard/patio with a very friendly cat and a nice breakfast. Would stay there again 100% The key system is a little old, other than that, everything is great!
Brilliant location just behind the cathedral, breakfast was excellent. Renovation work is currently being done on rooms.
Very central, easy to find, excellent underground secure parking, great for bikers. Friendly staff.
Good central location, within walking distance of the historical centre, bars, restaurants and tourist sites. Bathroom decor was very dark with a couple of tiles hanging off which exposed some mouldiness. Noisy throughout the night.
Very helpfull reception staff and very close to convenient parking. Offered smoking rooms. There was no shower curtain/barrier so the bathroom floor got very wet. Toilet seat was broken.
Good central location, Safe covered parking, Good value Breakfast.
Position of hotel was good for cathedral and shops Outdated decor of hotel, pipes leaking in foyer.hotel room nice size but tiles fallen of side of bath and toilet that stank like a portaloo I used at reading festival in 2009
I enjoyed the staff - they were most accommodating to us and our needs. They certainly rate an A+ in my book and all can work at a 4 star hotel
Close to the old historical pedestrian streets and close to the cathedral. Close to shopping and restaurants.
Location is good. Room was decent size. No blind. Hotel is pretty dark. Decor is terrible.
Very good central location with under cover secure overnight parking. Needs refurbishing, fixtures and fittings a little tired.
convenience traffic noise
We particularly liked the location and the friendliness of the staff. Rooms were comfortable and the breakfast very nice. There is no lift in the hotel and carrying a baby up 3 flights of stairs was quite hard work. Parking is quite difficult.
While, close to the Rouen Cathedral, this hotel is not really in a nice section of town.
proximity to old town and good restaurants + easy parking. Good rates and good continental breakfast.
The staff were very helpful and actively told us about events on in the city that evening and offered to book restaurants for us It was a little basic - for instance there was no air conditioning in the room
We thought the staff gave good service and really tried to make our stay enjoyable, especially when the portable cot collapsed and our grandaughter was given a private room across the hall. good job. Location was excellent for walking or getting out of town to visit other sites. The outside noise from the bar, but that is something you cannot control.
In the city and close to all the tourist sights
It is very close to the cathedral and the historic city. The breakfast was good and they had the best coffee during our stay in France. It is very small one-way street which can be difficult to find and there was no lift and some interior construction while we stayed.
Cleanliness of the room. The absence of elevator and heating.
Exploring Rouen Outside noise at night
The owner is very friendly and offers personnalized service. I enjoyed the bath (instead of commonly found shower). I was facing the street and it was not so quiet during the night, but I had 3 large windows for plenty of sun in the morning. The curtains in the bathroom wouldn't allow complete privacy. The lock of the door was hard to handle.
the staff were very helpful. the shower was faulty, and the room needs refurbishing. The direcections to the hotel were very poor. Value for money is poor, because of the exchange rate.
Good location to city centrum, clear rooms, good breakfast, friendly service There is a bar close to the hotel and it may be noisy
The hotel is ideally located near the banks of the Seine. We used it for a late evening visit to the huge funfair in Rouen in October/November. We did not eat in the hotel at all and made an early morning start for the Eurotunnel. The shower wall holder was missing. After a long journey I was looking forward to a good shower. Had to hold the shower head myself and shower as well as possible like this!
in citycenter old fashend, "schmuddelig"
Location in town centre Difficult parking, lots of noise until late from outside
The only positive experience was the staff. They helped us to change our booking! Cleaningness, too much distubance and poor quality.
Very pleasant and helpful "owner/manager" and the breakfast was good Shower was broken and street outside was very noisy all night.
The patron was friendly and helpful and always available. The rooms seemed to have been recently redecorated and refurnished and were in good order. The double glazing kept out most of the noise. The street noise at night was intermittently loud with shouting and banging of bins. The communal staircase was a bit dingy.
It was relatively inexpensive and very close to the center of the city. We walked three blocks to the cathedral. The staff was very helpful. It was not very comfortable. The street has bars that were open most of the night with noisy patrons in the street.
Central position, perfect to visit the city center by foot. Clean, nice furnishing. No air conditioning, it was really hot.
We found that all the major cultural sites in Rouen were in walking distance of the hotel and that it was close to the railway station. The staff were helpful and friendly. The water for makimng tea in the breakfast room was often little more than lukewarm.
Very convenient; close to center of town Parking somewhat inconvenient (in public garage 3 blocks from hotel)
Very good location, polite staff. My car parking space was tiny as they forgot. The hot water did not work in the morning as the pump to the boiler was broken. We were just unlucky.
the hotel staff was very helpful---the hotel was in a fabulous location---- parking was tricky
Very friendly, helpful owner and his staff. Very quiet room. Central location near many very good restaurants. Car parking is near by in the underground car park and is reasonably priced The rooms need some upgrading, but the owner is going to do this as part of his next phase. He is really a delightful person with lots of good ideas.
Accessibility to city centre. Security was good. Difficulty getting in to semi-pedestrianised area on arrival. Would've preferred to be given key/code for access to semi-pedestrianised area and garage parking during stay rather than having to contact hotel each time. Slightly seedy area late at night - drunks and noise - not the hotel's fault tho, I guess.
The location of hotel and also hotel staff was very friendly
Great location, best staff we experienced in France, fabulous value. Noise from street, try to book room in back of hotel.
Good location, helpful staff Walls between bedrooms thin, shower not ideal
Convenient location - easy to find and we parked outside the hotel
rooms smelling of cigarette smoke, however, the hotel staff did allow us to change rooms, but, the cigarette smell did overtake the hall and access corridors.
i liked evreything
clean, very helpful staff, proximity to historic centre and a lot of thought had gone into hotels decor
Friendly reception, everything worked fine, good breakfast
We were booked at this hotel for one night but upon arrival our car broke down outside the entrance which meant we ended up staying for another night. The staff were absolutely fantastic helping us to sort out our problems and rearranging rooms for us for the additional stay.
Convienient for city centre, secure overnight public underground car park, only 10 euros for 24hrs, a 5 min walk away. Friendly staff.
friendly staff, not intrusive
Location was very good. Used as a stop over hotel
The hotel promises a sight either to river or to Rouen cathedral. We saw a spire of the chatedral from our window but actualy it was rather unpleasant sight to a courtyard with garages. I know Latvian, English, German, Italian, Norwegian and Russian and a little bit French. A man at the reception during our check in clear English said that he did not speak English and requested us to speak with him in French or in any other language he knew. It was clear French snobbery with which we came accross in many cities of Bretagne and Normandy. French is very nice language but after the holidays in France I do not want to learn it at all. It seems to me that a hotel is for clients but not vice versa.
The personnel attention maybe the fact that there is no elevator or continental breakfast included:
Location is excellent, right in the middle of the city center, close to everything, around the corner from the Notre Dame! Bed was nice. Peaceful surroundings, so you could keep your windows open at night for fresh air without hearing much noise from outside. Friendly and helpfull staff. The hotel uses keycards the size of creditcards so you could easily keep your roomkey with you in your wallet when you went out. Sunday and monday there's free parking just in front of the hotel and for the rest of the week you can park your car around the corner for 9 euro's per 24 hours. In general, the facilities are in working order. Read more below. We changed rooms because the sink of our shower was clogged. The staff could've handled this problem a bit more accurately because we had to go to the reception 4 times before everything was fixed. The showers in both rooms are tiny!
The staff were very helpful No lift
The room is inadequated completly to receive 3 persons.
Central position Split site, exceptionally cramped room, no lift
Great view of the cathedral from bedroom!
Good value for money. No luxuries but comfortable and clean, thus no complaints No elevator
no parking facilities, close to a young persons area, street noisy until late
Desperately needs updating those tired rooms. Noisy location on busy square. Had to leave windows as weather was so hot but some people were noisy outside all night.
location. 2-3min walk to main tourist places. noisy. need soundproof wall.
location to local attractions, friendliness of the proprietors
staff were helpful and friendly, location good, use of parking space useful. bathroom very small, no shower curtain, some kind of chemical toilet which made a lot of noise when flushing, and when other guests in other rooms flushed.Walls very thin: you could here your neighbours.
The friendliness of the staff was exceptional. The bathroom was far too small. The rooms were also on the snug side. Beds comfortable, but not generously sized.
Newly renovated rooms. Wonderful owners!
Very friendly and helpful staff with a good breakfast and plenty of recommendations for out limited stay.
Hotel was within walking distance of Cathedral. The staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful, within minutes we had been given a map of Rouen in English with all interesting sights marked out. Restaurant recommendations were also offered, Chez Collette had fantastic food. Bathroom very basic, tiny bath and no real shower just plastic attachment but overall it didn't matter as they were such pleasant people and the location was great. If we had wanted more we could have paid more elsewhere.
Garage to keep motorcycles secure and dry, great location Bathroom very small and poorly lit, shower cold, toilet didn't flush. Managed to fix toilet with some tinkering, and apparently the hot water did come through after 10 minutes of running the shower, but it was cold to begin with and having had a cold wet motocycle ride all day, a cold shower was not very welcoming!
Friendly owners even though we arrived late, comfortable basic accomodation in a good location with parking facilities Although we were aware there was no bar it would have been nice to have one
it was located well for our needs
It is perfectly located and very quiet. The room was small but very comfortable and a delicious breakfast was available. We will happily return.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. no lift.
Location. Pleasant staff. Parking is difficult due to the one way streets and the lack of parking.
Hotel is very clean. They serve a wonderful breakfast.
Bon Petit déjeuner (très bonne qualité des produits) mais non inclu dans le prix de la chambre (+11€/personne) /// Good breakfast (very good quality of products) but you pay an extra 11€/person for it. Très Mauvais rapport qualité prix: je suis habitué aux hôtels de 60€ à 140€ et la chambre à 120€ ne mérite pas plus de 70€. L'ameublement est très bas de gamme, ma moquette comportait des brulures de cigarette et la couverture comportait des traces pas ragoutantes (changée sans difficulté) /// Very bad value for Money: I in general take rooms in range 60€-140€ in France, Room at 120€ does not worse more than 70€. Very low quality of furniture, dirty carpet with cigarette burns in my room, blanket not clean (replace without any difficulty).
Location was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful. This hotel is fairly basic, however it has been recently renovated and it is comfortable, clean and more than adequate for a night or two's stay. No. It is in the middle of the city, therefore there was a little noise in the street at night, but with the windows closed , it was not an issue at all. As a regular user of hotels, I would say that this hotel was good value for money and I would recommend it.
Location relative to historic areas Rooms small
Room was very clean Location was excellent in city centre Staff were friendly and helpful No Tea/ coffee facilities in room or hotel only mini bar in room Bedside light broken and not repaired as requested Insufficient towels in bathroom Bath had high sides , no grab rails so stepping out/ in was hazardous (I am tall and agile but even so found this a problem) Elevator was very small
This is a two star diamond!!! Large room, nicely designed and decorated. Friendly and helpful staff. A very nice breakfast buffet (as apposed to the standard French canned orange juice, yoghurt, and bad coffee). Nicely located in a great town with a parking area, Porcelle, just down the street. A pleasant surprise at the end of a 3 week trip. Nothing to dislike.
Good location nice facilities for short stay Lacked facilities in rooms for making tea or coffee. Parking was at nearby underground car park with ticket to reduce overnight stay charge from 9.50euros to 6euros, however leaving car park by different entrance left one a little lost a small map to show where entrance and exits were would help. Doors to staircase on each levelwould help to reduce noise and fire risk
Clean, comfortable, convenient and with good service. None
the helpful staff. it was quiet. i had to apgrade my room because the room i booked through the internet did not meet my expectations. i had to pay more than intended
