A comprehensive buffet breakfast inclusive Lack of coffee shop facilities/snack bar as no room coffee making facilities are available
Very friendly and helpful staff. Well furnished and maintained. Bright and airy. Good general comfort and cleanliness and a really nice location for a city hotel. The room was rather too basic for the price - no kettle or iron and very small. Based on my own recent experience an equivalent room would be cheaper in London, Paris, Munich, New York or San Fransisco. I did like the hotel though.
An established hotel in a lovely parkland setting with Oslo fjord close by. Excellent helpful staff and large room with comfortable beds. Nothing to complain about but the hotel is quite old now and some of the furniture and fittings could do with replacing. However, this added to the charm of the place.
We booked this hotel as our other choices were unavailable due to a conference. We knew it was not centrally located, but we did not expect to find a hotel with such limited dining and drinking choices. Luckily town was only 10 mins away by bus. Buffet breakfast was poor to middling. There was a huge section of unavailable tables (reserved) but noone filled them before breakfast finished.Hotel decor is very dated, with patchy, worn out carpet. The elevator was disturbingly rickety. The "beach" was in disuse, even though it was the middle of June. This hotel is more suitable for conferences etc, but without some renovation, we wouldn't revisit it.
The time I booked, all Oslo was booked, and that was the only reasonable option I could find. The bed was very uncomfortable. The location is really not for a tourist; it is outside Oslo.
The restaurant The location is difficult to find. The amenities are sub par and the rooms are in desperate need of remodeling
Comfortable beds Location not ideal. No pool or spa.
Neigbourhood - quiet, nice place with a lot of greens. Close to sea. Compact, narrow hotel room. Poor ventilation / ac. Old fashioned design from early seventies.
nearby bus stop very bad breakfast buffet (empty bowles, no service, no refills, etc.)
This hotel is close to Oslo Downtown
Very easy to get to the city
Breakfast Buffet was good. Location is good if your only interest is to be near the Telenor group headquarters. Room very small, worn out, & cold. Bed very small and uncomfortable. Bathroom was dirty, especially shower curtain
I arrived late( 2Am), but staff was very kind. And when I leave early morning, staff arrange my breakfast.
Very comfortable, modern hotel with sleek design and spacious rooms. Relaxed atmosphere, lovely breakfast. Obviously Norway is an expensive country compared to the rest of Europe even, but the price we got was quite reasonable. No major complaints. We arrived very late and left fairly early.
staff was amazing. the views are amazing. It is far from the airport. Probably have to pay $200 with taxi to get there but worth the money.
Beautiful location. Rooms were very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Tight spaces driving in but we always found parking.
It had a good location, handy for shops and transport links at local bus and train stations. The reception staff were very helpful. More variety for cooked breakfast.
there is an amazing island nearby it's in between several noisy motorways.
A person who I was meeting with, was arriving late & I was able to arrange some food to be in his room when he arrived. (Past resteraunt closing time)
very good breakfast and good location the room was too hot!!!! we hurry out as soon as possible. next time we deffenently want a room with a window........
Everyone was nice and especially the breakfast staff. The hotel is also very quiet and very peacefull for late and lazy mornings.
First experience is with the receptionist who was very rude insisting I had not paid for both nights. I actually did not stay there, but had a friend from Germany, and this was handled in such a way that is caused much embarrasement for me and my guest. Will not choose Thon hotel in the future when my friend comes next month.
Proximity to business district in Sandvika Windows opened to inner atrium of hotel - claustrophobic and airless - much prefer windows to outside of any building. Facilities good but a steam iron in room would be much preferable and more effective than a hot iron - also it was awkward with too short a cord threaded through ironing board. Who ( I ask ) is really going to steal an iron?? The room coffee maker had no operator instructions in English and I had no enjoyable coffee among several attempts - too much technology not enough basic good facility like a kettle and sachets of coffee. This technology glitch extended to the restaurant facility 2 mornings out of 3 when the coffee machine failed and I had to miss coffee again.
The foyer is amazing, very attractive, and the facilities generally are very nice. We found the staff helpful and pleasant. The food in the restaurant was excellent, especially the breakfast in the morning. There is a lovely walk from the hotel down around the bay and up into the town. The hotel is also incredibly close to what we were told was, the largest shopping mall in Scandinavia. It was about 10klm from the centre of Oslo and about 80 from Oslo Torp airport. Transport from the airport to the hotel and vice versa was very expensive. There are only 2 computers that are available for access which meant it was often difficult to find one to use, and when you were on you were frequently harrassed by other people.
Very comfortable bed. Spacious room. Friendly helpful staff Poor (temporary) breakfast facilities
The open dining area with coffee and waffles, available during the afternoon, was a nice touch. The fact that all meals were included in the price was good, too. Limited choice of evening meal - just one hot course. Internet use needed WiFi scratch cards (which had to be collected from reception each morning and evening) - free, so why scratch cards?
- Hard to find. Address not available on TomTom GPS. Parking very expensive. NOK 23,-/hour during both night and day... Nice, but really small rooms.
The hotel was nice and the staff were very helpful No bad points really, just that for a british traveller the price is eye- wateringly expensive.
We found the member of staff on reception Lasse very helpful and polite it was also very nice having a buffett at the hotel FOC after a long journey. Would have liked a bigger bed
Easy to do Expensive for the type of hotel (eg very small and with no facilities).
Coffee and tea at the room! Much noise, no individual thermostat in the room ( it was either hot or cold in the room), simple breakfast
Excellent breakfast - far better than expected, both choice and quality. Staff in the hotel was nice and responsive. Location is good. Hotel needs renovating - rooms are a bit worn out. Bathroom infrastructure was old: it took minutes to get the shower water temperature correct - and it kept varying also after that. One of our rooms had a really smelly bathroom - another room was offered, though - hotel staff was responsive and created solutions for the customer. Air conditioning would be a must - this hotel did not have that.
It was a functional hotel. I appreciated that you could bring dogs and especially without paying extra fees.
Good and silent. Polite service. Good breakfast. The girl in the reception mixed the rooms: She gave the bed for two to our friends (Men, normal) and separated bedt to me and my vife!
location and access from highway when traveling by car entrance/hallways area somewhat run down
Very convenient location for the centre of Drammen. The decor of the restaurant and bar area was very nice. Breakfast was excellent with a very wide range of offerings. No tea and coffee making equipment in room.
Breakfast very good choice, however the cooked items were cold, pillows were good The was not compleley refreshed during the day, and there used shampoo bottles left in the shower rack
There was a good standard of food in the restaurant, especially for evening meals. Only one person on the front desk - had to wait, when checking out, for the phone to be answered (a 5 minute call from somebody needing information that had to be looked up, and then a booking).
That it was located near the city centre + the price was not too bad. And the breakfast buffet is really nice! The hotel is a kinda old, and looks a bit "worn down".
The gas fire in the breakfast room was the best feature of the hotel. Asking for a 500 NOK deposit when I paid in cash. This was to "cover the trashing of the room" but at the check out the room was not inspected. I was ready to pay in full at arrival, but still wouldm have needed to pay deposit. So we settled on the 500 only. Weird.
showers in 2 rooms flooded the floor
the landscape and the courtesy of housekeeping staff. the room was way to small, nearly no space between my side of the bed and the wall. the bathroom was incredible small as well, and the shower did not work properly. breakfast was not that fresh as expected.
Nice staff. Good food. Small room.
wonderful organic breakfast lights in bedroom didn't work properly
There was no food available until after 21:00 because the kitchen was busy with a big function on Saturday night and the kitchen was closed on Sunday night.
