short drive to Mt. St. Michael via the "back roads" excellent bathroom, adequate breakfast.very quiet. the very smart restaurant seemed pricey so we dined out which was no problem at all but this is not a criticism of the hotel.
It's easy to park the car. It's not so close to Mont. St. Michel.
Very nice room and bathroom. Quite area, 20 mins to St. Michel. Looked popular among the locals- the restaurant was full in the evening. Check -in times very weird (15.30-18.30!!). Some staff did not speak good English and menu in the restaurant was in French only, so we had to go to some other restaurant just few minutes away where the menus were translated. Nothing against French people- they all were very nice during our trip, but if they advertise on an international website, they would have to expect foreigners come to their hotel that do not speak French. It was very cold in the room at night.
Clean room but slightly on the small side. Excellent restaurant serving top class food at fair prices. Breakfast far too expensive
I got to my hotel at 7:00 pm and no it was closed and locked. No body was even staying there. It was in the middle of a desolate area, not a soul in sight and no way to check in. They would not refund my money because check in was at 3:30. I would never book with these people again. I didn't like anything about this hotel. They seemed really desperate to keep my 50.00 Euros that I paid to reserve the hotel. Would Not reccomend a stay to my enemies.
No transport I cam expressly to visit Mt. st Michel and this hotel is too far and tansportation is poor
Charming hotel in the countryside. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean. The hotel was in a quiet location so provided a good nights rest. An approx 15-20 minute drive to Mont Saint Michel.
Excellent restaurant! Highly recommended. Extremely small simple rooms. Far from St. Michele.
very good menue and service without car or bike one has to use Taxi to come and go, -even to the le mont St. Michel
Friendly staff, nice, clean room
Free on-site, nearby parking. Campus type setting. location
Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Quality
the location, short walk or 2 min drive to Mont St Michel; rooms very spacy and quiet surroundings
The location was great - just a three minute drive from the parking area right at the foot of Mont St. Michel. The hotel room and bathroom were very clean and the beds comfortable.
Very convenient. Windows that opened. Shop nearby. Would have liked coffee making facility in room. Cheaper hotels in area when actually arrived.
Comfortable place for a short visit to the area. Able to walk the 2 kl to Mont St Michel. Great convenient restaurant.
Helpful staff, clean rooms, wonderful restaurant. Thank you for an excellent stay.
Easy to get to and on the main street going out to LeMont St. Michel. We were able to simply walk across the street to a varity of resturants. Parking was free and the location was safe and secure. The site was very pleasent and very much like being in a small village in the country side. Good location and atmosphere. The toilet was in a small room off the main bathroom seemed a bit odd but all the rooms had the same design and it was a very modern style. Really no problem. The rooms were large and well equiped but I would guess the architect had been a naval cruise ship designer at some point because of several design features like the use of fiberglass, doors styles, stairs, and halls all very well done.
Location, excellent facilities.
stuff was extremely unfriendly
We had a very large room with an unobstructed view of Mt St Michel. Our bath was very large due to the fact it was handicape equipped.Save yourself some euros and stay elsewhere , because we felt the premium for the view was unwarranted , but I must admit the breakfast room view of the Mt was superb.
Dinner and good view from the room.
The view and the location to Le Mont-Saint-Michel The shower head was broken. I hope a better maintenance.
The hotel's facilties are of the highest standard and the buffet breakfast, and restaurant for the evening meals are excellent.
The location is the best. I was impressed with the beautiful view of St.Michel from the room.
Excelent view and location. Staff very helpfull Meal service slow and unreasonably priced.
The views over Mont Saint Michel were great. Too expensive for what if offered. Staff wasn't very alert. Very American hotel with no atmosphere.
Windows with a view of Mont St. Michel.
help of th staff
The hotel is clean and well located. Breakfast is abundant and nice serve. Unfortunately, there is not internet service available. In addition, if the guest arrives before 2:30 pm the hotel is closed, therefore it is not possible to leave the luggage and come back later to check in. A room for two was booked, double bed, and the room assigned was had two single beds.
The proximity to Mont St. Michel was excellent. The triple room was large and very comfortable. Nice bath room. Reasonable price.
Quiet and clean; near to Mount St Michel, good restaurants and supermarket nearby. Stairs to climb with suitcases:
Nice, quite, comfortable no
The room is very big and very clean and bright. I especially like the bathroom counter top. With the money we pay to stay here, I would highly recommand this hotel. The staff recommanded a restaurant next door. That restaurant is really for the tourists that they charge more and food is really so so. I would hope they recommand the guesses to the restaurant that local people will go to, so we get a better value.
location - Le Mont St Michel around the corner!
location within walking distance of mont st michel so saving car park charge at the mont hotel suplies reflective jacket to walk down road at night to see mont st michel lit up recomend taking a torch with you as well many eating places near hotel
Clean. Close to Mont-St.Michel. Quiet.Good for family.
What a nice surprise to walk into the hotel and our room. Beautiful decoration, great beds, superior quality of the linens, spacious room, clean and the best location in Honfleur.
Good location. The lady at reception was very kind. No elevator is available. We had to use stair with suitcase, baby and baby buggy. I had to go up and down to bring up all our belongings. The breakfast is poor.
Hotel was clean and staff spoke english. Food was medium price but was extremely good. Very very close to the mont saint michelle Wifi didn't work
Comfortable room and close to Le Mont St. Michel. Restuarant at the hotel serve brillint food especially dinner.... No elevator for 3 stars hotel?? and i have to carry my big luggage 2 floors up :)
I felt for tthe price the comfort of the beds and bedding were more than expected. Although the room quite small, it was clean and comfortable when I asked about touristic information, the receptionist responded that it was a hotel and not the tourist info office in sort of a snooty way. Also, I feel that the price of the breakfast should not be the same for a preschool age child as an adult. 9eros 50 is pretty steep for a 3 year old who nibbled on cereal at best.
Appreciated the clean bedding and extra beds added to the room for our two children.
The hotel appeared to be recently refurbished. The beds were wonderfully comfortable. The TVs were new flat screens on the wall.
Location of the hotel is very nice - only 20 mins walk to the Mont St. Michel. Overall, it's OK for a short stay. There are two points that I would recommend improving: 1. a curtain in the bathroom, over the tub, so the place would not be flooded every time you take a shower; 2. explain hotel staff (cleaning personnel) that they sould make their conversations/communications at the hallway at least 2 tones lower, specially at 8am, when some guests are still sleeping
Very close to Mt Saint Michael. Clean hotel and room.
Very good breakfast at "La Mere Poulard" The room was very modest and small for the price paid
The views from our room were spectacular. Though they aren't fancy, the rooms are comfortable and have all of the amenities needed for a wonderful stay on Mont St. Michel. Breakfast, which is served at La Mere Poulard, was both extensive and delicious. No elevator in the annex building.
Being able to have dinner at the Mere Poulard 92 stone steps frfom the reception to the building with the bedrooms
Room was clean, location was convenient, price was very competitive
Obviously the position, and the breathtaking sight. The room was very comfortable and perfectly clean.
It was incredible to stay in such an historic place. The views were inspiring from our room.
Amazing location, large room and very clean. Front desk staff was a bit standoffish and not particularly friendly.
Greatest place of a 5 country tour. Staying inside the Castle was great. Lots of area to explore (especially at night). Easy to find and staff was very nice.
nice view! We cannot check in on time!!!!! We wait more than 1 1/2 hrs in reception! because the room not prepare well!!
Location was excellent and the room where we stayed which was not part of the main hotel had a marvellous view of the bay and the Abbey. This part of the hotel was quiet and one which I would prefer. The room needed a serious refurbishing to keep up with modern facilities and comfort (pillowcases were old and smelt, linens needed to be upgraded, etc). I also felt that the receptionist was tense and not too accomodating to its hotel clients.
Localization, as it is very close to the ocean. Bad information about check-out time by staff, who said we should live 1 hour earlier than information by booking.com.
The location which is just situated centrally in the Mont itself. Very convenience. The parking, there is no clear indication as in the parking for hotel guess, so we paid €4 for the parking and rather far a distance to walk into the hotel.
The location is terrific. You get to stay "on the rock" which means you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings before/after the tourist buses arrive. Very friendly staff. Old world charm (read: not a luxury accommodation), but we're glad we stayed there. The rooms are older and there are a lot of stairs to get to your room (pack lightly!) Hallways smell of the omlettes made downstairs; luckily the rooms did not. The restuarant is expensive for what you're getting.
Mont St Michel was a great place to visit. Too many stairs, but I knew that going in.
Taking a walk along the deserted streets in the morning.
The location was perfect and the people at the bar, restaurant and front desk were very friendly. Staying the night in Le Mont St Michele is definitely the best way to see the island w/o tourist overload!
This hotel is on Mont Saint Michel. Staying here allows you to explore the Mont at night. This is a magical experience. As expected on the Mont, there are many many stairs. Pack very lightly.
Staying on the Mount was wonderful! It was really nice being there when all day trippers were gone
The location was really interesting. Maybe the price was too high. Not everytime you can enjoy the see there. Ask before.
Nice room, goodining amenities. In-room coffee pot would be nice but was provided downstairs with breakfast. No wifi. Didn't know we needed dinner reservations, dinners are early on Mont Saint Michel.
Location is very convenient, staff is helpful. The hotel needs a complete renovation. The restaurant does not reflect the quality it charges for its prices.
La Mere Poulard has an excellent position on the main entry road to Mt St Michel. The hotel is very atmospheric and rooms comfortable, however, some guests may need to be aware that there are no elevators available. The dining room is classified as three star but was overpriced for what was actually on offer. A choice of table was not an option although the room was never more than one third full. Staff were not welcoming and tried to hurry us through the meal, suggesting coffee be taken in the piano bar.
Being right there is extremely dramatic and night on the island is worth the price. Lots of steps, but that's the nature of the island
Little accomadation of elderly travellers. Were offered no help in carrying heavy luggage up to 3rd floor, although I appreciate the fact that the hotel switched us to a lower floor.
The hotel exterior was a little tacky with 3-4 plastic style signs. We had 3 flies in our room.
The rooms very clean and the staff very friendly. We would recomend this hotel to other tourists No
The location is great. You can walk to Mont St Michel if you like. There is a supermarket just across the road and a number of restaurants in the vicinty. The room was very basic for the price but we expected that due to the touristy nature of the location. We found the staff to be quite indifferent and not very friendly (although not rude). For this reason we chose to eat at another hotel.
Location The airplane bathroom
The hotel was charming and the young girl who showed us our room was so nice. No complaints
The hotel was convenient for the visit to Mont St Micheal The staff were very friendly and helpful. The whole area around the hotel is in chaos with road works and building works. The room was basic but comfortable for youngsters but not suitable for an older person. There were a lot of young Japanese Tourists who were polite and friendly but we felt that we were part of that school trip. The dining facilities were rather basic.
Location on mainland right by causeway to Mont St Michel; good varied breakfast; very good restaurant featuring local foods and dishes; friendly and helpful staff; clean and comfortable room. Nothing.
Nice hotel. Good breakfast and location. Be awared that in the city there is no place to eat after 21:00, except Pornston in 7 km.
Proximity to Le Mont St Michel. Bit faded and overpriced for its 3 stars.
The staff was great and the locaton was excellent, nice lttle basc hotel to visit the Mt St Michel, I highly recommend it
Very nice hotel at Mont St. Michelle. Great location, small but nice rooms, wonderful service and very clean.
The reception staff were lovely. The location is fabulous - loved the private route onto the castle wall. The food was good. The restaurant staff were pleasant. I bought two gin and tonics in the bar in the evening and they cost over €18!
This is a beautiful hotel in a totally priceless location. Yes, there are a few steps- not for the weak of heart or spirit...but wow.. it's worth it!Lovely room, spotless facilities. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
Very comfortable & clean.Great location.
The location of the hotel is its biggest asset. The pillows.
Proximity to Le Mont St. Michel abbey and ambiance of the village Yes - being right on top of the shops and restaurants we were disturbed in the very early morning by deliveries and refuse removal and the pre-fabricated form of the en-suite to our bedroom was poor
The location was incredible...! No elevators...but no big issue.
The staff was nice and welcoming. They charged the amount that was advertised on the back of the door even though I booked a more expensive room. I did not receive the room I booked.
family room was divided into 2 areas, thus allowing privacy. Also 8 yr old was allowed extra wothout charge. Lovely location and friendly staff.
The wifi! The hotel was very old and lovely but modern where it needed to be. Our stay was very nice.
Consideration of the hotel staff; especially the arrangement for our late arrival due to transportation problems. Lack of a lift to the floor where our room was located. We are in our 70s and it was difficult to move our luggage to the room when checking in and back down to the lift when checking out.
Very helpful and frienfdly staff. Restaurant food was excellent quality.
Staff spoke good English and were very accommodating with all requests.
Beautiful and historic, friendly staff No restaurant even though it had been recommended in the Lonely Planet guidebook and was one of the main reasons why we chose this hotel
Don't eat at the hotel, the Italian restaurant round the corner is amazing and much cheaper!!
The hotel is well located if your travels require an overnight close to Mont St Michel. The hotel is walkable from the train station where buses can take you to Mont St Michel. Hotel staff was kind and helpful with our logistics. The room we had was somewhat cramped but ok for a short stay.
Very attractive building well situated in a cute town (Pontorson). Lots of space in the room. Staff was attentive and helpful. The breakfast was in a lovely room and the food was great.
Great costumer service and advice Bed a bit uncomfortable
The location for the area we were visiting and the friendliness of the manager when we arrived and had any queries
This historic hotel is lovely and we only have two small complaints.... The pigeons were quite noisy all night and there was no air conditioning to cool the room after a 30 degree day.
The overall impression was good, and the location to Mont Saint Michel is convenience. No. of staff is too few in the hotel.
The restaurant at the main hotel across the road. The food was awesome - beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. Great value too. Being close to the station was essential for us (too much luggage and travelling by train) and this fitted the bill perfectly. Nothing .
the hotel was cheap and fantastic, what a cute little town
Friendly, mature staff. General level of cleanliness. Convenient location.
The restaurant at 1st floor must be one of the best in this small town. Annex, in which we stayed, was old and not very clean. No elevator. Broken shutter. Main building (just 2 min walk) seemed nicely renovated.
Quite close to the train station. If the rooms are equipped with hair drier, it would be better.
Transportation connections are ideal. This hotel is right next to the train station and the bus stop for bus route #6 to Mont St Michel. We picked this hotel for that reason, and the bus connection worked very well. This hotel does not have wi-fi but the staff allowed us to use the wi-fi in the lounge of its sister hotel across the road. Very nice people.
Staff were friendly
Good convenient free parking. Close to high street for restaurants The shower was tiny and there was no attachment for the shower head in the shower. Road noise outside - cars crossing rail tracks, luckily very few trains.
room is clearn, good value for short stay. train could be noise in the morning, if u plan to sleep late.
staff was accomodating and friendly, ready with great suggestions for places to dine or watch the sunset over Mont St Michel. Also helpful in trying to secure a reservation for another B&B the following day.
Very nice the family who runs the place. Clean and quiet. The worst coffe we ever had. Better ask for tea, it"s english. Small rooms with a funny smell of old furniture.
The owner was very accommodating. She recommended a small bar for supper not too far away. The curry chicken was amazing.
Price, location close to Mont-St-Michelle, nice breakfast The only accepted form of payment is cash. Good thing I read about it in a review and was prepared (the reservation says that credit card is accepted).
Nothing. The hotel was extremely basic. The bedrooms had showerooms that had been created by building partitions. The level of furnishing and decoration was very poor. The place is run by an English couple who were not very welcoming. We cringed when we heard the lady owner asking a French couple whether they wanted tea or coffee in English. Breakfast was simple, with English prepacked jams. Altogether an experience that made us ashamed to be British.
charming, quaint bed was a bit uncomfortable
very nice coutryside hotel. Price very reasonable and give you good access to surrounding areas.
Hotel owner was extremely nice and friendly, an English native, so good place if you are struggling to get by in French and need some English language and a simple place to sleep. No place to sit and relax, no soothing ambience. Room was small with one chair. No lounge area. It was merely a place to sleep. No good restaurant alternatives.
The English owners were lovely and friendly. The room was quaint. Three different types of breads for breakfast plus yoghurt etc. About a 15 min drive to Mont St Michel. Need a car.
Room was clean except for toilet (it was filthy). Close to shops. Room was overlooking train tracks but very quiet (Host said there was a train strike and no trains). It was not '5 mins' from Saint Mont Michel as advertised. The Mont is 8km away - about 10-15 min. drive on narrow road. We thought from the ad 'only 1 room left' in the category that there would be people around but the hotel was deserted.
We arrived late, but after a phone call to the hotel, they agreed to stay late. While they appeared unpleasant during the phone call, upon arrival, they were very friendly and accommodating. There is a 8:00pm latest check-in which we did not notice until 8:30 and 200 kms away. They agreed to stay but was a little difficult. Our fault really for not noticing the last check-in time.
Price was kind of cheep compared with the other hotels near Mont St-Michel. It's soundproofing was so poor that we couldn't sleep with terrible noses from upstairs. Many group tourists arrived late at night and their noise of steps, using showers, even flushing the toilet bothered us so much. We complained about that next morning. The owner said there would be nobody over us that day, so we decided not to cancel another night. But unfortunately, we were bothered by the noise from downstairs again which was helpless. The corridor was always full of bad smell (maybe sewage?) which was uncomfortable. It's kind of small family run hotel so we expected warm friendly atmosphere but Hotel staff was not friendly with no smile. One lady didn't say even hello when we happened to see in the garden.
Friendly staff. No restaurant
The room (for me room/bathroom/toilet quality is of utmost importance when selecting a hotel) - it was way better than what i had expected! n/a
The owner was very friendly. Close to St.Michel. The room we stayed was for triple, but bit small. The bathtub with no shower curtain is uncomfortable.
large family room difficult to find even with GPS
