This Krone Assmannshausen Hotel is located in a district of Ruedesheim called Assmannshausen which consists only of beautiful historical buildings. Assmannshausen is about 5km away from the city center of Rudesheim. The local train station is only 5 minutes away. Situated on the banks of the river Rhine it is an historic hotel built in medieval style with very attractive little spires. The building dates back to the 15th century. It has a small lobby furnished with many pieces of antique furniture. The hotel offers a very traditional and unique product. The bedrooms are individually furnished to a high standard. The furnishings and decor of all of them is in country house style with chintz and floral fabrics and antique furniture. The bathrooms are luxurious with extensive use of marble and with many of them having gold fittings. The rooms located at the front of the hotel have Rhine river views whilst those facing the back overlook vineyards. Due to the age of the building the rooms vary a lot in size but on average they are medium sized. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are in very good condition. The restaurant is very beautiful with a traditional decor and subdued lighting combining to create a very sophisticated atmosphere. ***IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 13APR15 20APR15 27APR15 04MAY15 11MAY15 18MAY15 25MAY15 01JUN15 08JUN15 15JUN15 22JUN15 29JUN15 06JUL15 13JUL15 20JUL15 27JUL15 03AUG15 10AUG15 17AUG15 24AUG15 31AUG15 07SEP15 14SEP15 21SEP15 28SEP15 05OCT15 12OCT15 19OCT15 26OCT15 02NOV15 09NOV15 16NOV15 23NOV15 30NOV15 07DEDC15 14DEC15 21DEC15 28DEC15 04JAN16 11JAN16 18JAN16 25JAN16 01FEB15 08FEB16 15FEB16 22FEB16 29FEB16 07MAR16 14MAR16 21MAR16 28MAR16: HOTEL RESTAURANT IS CLOSED.***
Courtesy of staff, style of rooms, riverside location, breakfast overlooking the Rhine, opportunity to walk though the vineyards on Hoellenberg
the poor mark for comfort reflects dim bedside lights - so dim as to make reading in bed impossible. I did draw this to the attention of the hotel on check-out
Amazing rooms!!! Great value for money.
The breakfast buffet was rather poor. though the staff ready to offer better range on request
Traveled in Europe for 21 days, this was the best Hotel that we stayed in. The staff was beyond excellent, I would say Perfect! The suite was incredible. The Chef in the restaurant was a Master, the best dining experience we had on the trip. The wait staff in the restaurant was excellent. a very special thanks to Herr Boris, we arrived a day before our reservation and he found a way to let us stay that extra day. If we didnt have plane reservations already we would have stayed several more days. One final note The view of the Rhine river from our balcony was beyond description, I kept telling my wife, "Its good to be a King!" When we go back to Germany we will be staying here again.
Not one thing. People made comments about the trains, well its like that at 90% of the hotels along the Rhine. My suggestion is to travel with a sound machine, we do and we slept like babies.
We were delighted with your historic hotel.... our room was beautiful and well appointed. Our meal in your restaurant was world-class gourmet... truly a culinary experience of the highest quality.
The cleanliness of the room could be improved.... stained carpet and abundant spider webs inside the top windows.... not up to the standard of a hotel of your quality.
Being offered a better room than first reserved for us. Good service staff prepared with information on the time tables of everything moving and the "weinguts" in the area.
The towels had a sour smell - perhaps they were folded before entirely dry?
Surroundings are magnificant, hotel have great atmosphere, the "wine- lady" was more than excellent.
The train almost running through your room every 10 minutes, the old man at the restaurant was ironic beyond friendly, the food was ok but very German.
The building. The sumptuous furnishings. The decor. The rooms. The food. The dining experience. The breakfast. The dining room staff. The price. The free parking behind hotel. The collection of historic photos on the walls.
The reception staff. No help with luggage. Not told of the elevator. Not shown room. I have already written re these points to the hotel but they did not detract from the enjoyable stay. Smoking is allowed in the semi enclosed terrace, thereby denying it to non-smokers. When I ticked the "excellent" for staff, I was specifically referring to the dining room. Very noisy railway is only forty yards away.
The hotel staff was very kind. We arrive late when the kitchen was closing but they could offer us some salads and fish. The environment is nice and the decoration classic with old furniture.
Close proximity to River Tours
Train noise at all hours of the night was like staying next to an Airport.
Very nice food/dinner and good view at Hotel restaurant.
Room temperature was too hot and could not adjust it by my self
