Pros: Wonderful position, great time spent in both indoor and outdoor pools. Big room with comfortable beds.
Cons: The buffet dinner was not so great compared to the money spent.
Pros: The bed was comfortable but definitely not big enough for two people (queen bed). Clean bathroom. They provide lots of towels for the pool and lots of toiletries. The staff was nice. The view in the restaurant was beautiful. The breakfast itself is average.
Cons: The hotel looks a bit dated, but the rooms look newer. Everything was written in german (instructions in the room, welcome note,...), so at least adding english for a wider crowd would be nice.
Pros: Wellness area
Enjoy stunning views at the family run (since 1914) Best Western Hotel Rebstock at Lake Constance. Magnificent views over the Lake Constance are the best way to end a hard working day or to relax from an impressive leisure trip and offers the perfect setting to relax your mind. Numerous excursion possibilities lie at your doorstep, whether in direction of the Santis in the Appenzell region, around Lake Constance, or in the close old town St. Gallen with its world-famous abbey library, there will be something for you close by.
Pros: Quite a number of 4*-hotels (including some famous brands) could take classes on how it‘s done from the hotel Rebstock. Service, cleanliness, parking spots, food, spaciousness of the rooms. Impressive performance (and I‘m spending 160 nights/year in hotels).
Cons: The one and only thing I can think about/noticed is that the there were problems with the water pressure and keeping the temperature constant (turning from very warm almost hot to cold and back), but that‘s all.
Pros: Helpful and friendly staff, great restaurant, excellent view, great parking
Pros: excelent brekfast and perfect location.
When you stay at Hotel Hecht in Rheineck, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Evangelische Kirche Heiden and Rhein-Schauen Museum and Railway. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The room was a great size and very clean. The staff were polite and the town was nice.
Cons: Unfortunately the room was very noisy. We could hear the nearby road / rail networks all night long, plus there was an event at the hotel on the Saturday which people started unloading things for and arranging a function room incredibly early in the morning. These things could be fixed by some soundproofing.
Pros: The lady at the reception has been extremely kind and welcoming. We were the only guests of the hotel and she opened just for us, gave us the hair dryer even before asking it and in the morning prepared a delicious and rich breakfast
Cons: The tap was broken (but still working) and the shower door creeked while closing it
Pros: The hotel is in a picturesque village, only about 200 metres from the Lake Constance cycle path, Perfect if you're cycling around the lake. Very nice café-restaurant right on the premises.
Cons: The bathroom was a bit cramped, but after all the price is reasonable for Switzerland.
Pros: The staff were very helpful.
Cons: Over priced for a 2 star hotel.
Pros: Hotel is close to Train-station and not too far from the lake
Cons: Room and bath should be renoviert
Pros: Very friendly hotel reception! She helped carry my bags up, and even offered me a hair dryer to use before I could even ask. Very comfortable room. Everything was clean. Fan in room was awesome. Secure bicycle room.
Cons: Bathroom was tiny and shower was difficult to access--you have to squeeze sideways to get in there. Someone overweight or with mobility impairments would have a difficult time. The exhaust fan in the separate toilet area didn't work very well.

Pros: Spacious room with lake view, very nice pool and whirlpool bath inside and whirlpool bath outside with a magnificent view on lake and mountains. Great breakfast and delicious dinner. Very friendly staff.
Cons: unfortunately, I did not have time to visit SPA. Ongoing construction of the hotel expansion but it did not disturb my stay in the hotel.
Pros: -excellent view over the lake from the bar
Pros: Location is excellent. The private access to the waters of Bodensee is a real asset. The spa facilities are also excellent.
Cons: No air conditioning in a rather tired looking bedroom. However, the view from the same makes up for it.

Cons: We are cyclists and this property is very remote from any other facilities. It’s between the lake and a very busy road and railway. Maybe it’s seasonal but nothing was available within a 2km walk. The property itself is very tired and needs a bit of a touch up. The wifi is non existent. We ate at the hotel restaurant and were surprised that they charged money for serving tap water. The serve itself only half filled two glasses. Overall very disappointing.
Pros: Beautiful view of the lake! Very friendly staff, who helped us with any questions we had. Our children enjoyed the paddle boat at sunset and in the morning, as well as biking. Thank you for the help!
Cons: We stayed during a very hot week. The apartment was warm during the evening, even though an extra fan tried to help cool things down.
Pros: The beautiful view
Pros: The breakfast was brilliant as it always is! Very polite and helpful personnel at the reception helped us with problems regarding accommodation without hesitations. We will surely come back during next business trips and recommend the place to others!
Pros: The evening meal was very enjoyable indeed having opted for the hotel's speciality and we really appreciated the helpful staff. Given the very cold weather we certainly enjoyed the really warm bathroom.
Pros: Safe Garage for the bike.
The Hotel Hof Weissbad is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Appenzell. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. A pickup service can be arranged for guests upon request. There's never a dull moment at this hotel, our guests indicate that the facilities are excellent.
Pros: Very professional and welcoming staff. A welcome drink is offered to you at check-in. Very quiet room (330) and beautiful bathroom. On each floor there are drinks (mineral water, orange juice, tea etc.) offered free of charge. The breakfast buffet is impressive: dozens of cheeses, pastries, croissants, several different types of bread, fruits, a wide choice of yogurt and real fresh orange juice. Electric bicycles available free of charge. If you stay overnight you will receive a card that allows you to use the trains, buses and cable cars of the region free of charge. Very nice stay in this hotel that I recommend without estimation.
Pros: The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, and the hotel facilities were very nice
Pros: Wonderful breakfast, excellent service, very pleasant staff Appenzell is a great area for four-five days of travel and rest especially for adults, not for young people...h Excellent (and expensive) gourment dinner !! mmm Great SPA, for both relaxing and therapeutic treatments Spacious rooms, very quiet area. Perfect for a wonderful relaxing vacation

Pros: The pool(s) were great
Cons: The room was a little small for the price
Pros: Very convenient location, with a very nice view on Bodensee!
Cons: A bit noisy from the corridor.
Pros: Basically this is a hostel next to a great swimming location. Clean. Breakfast was ok. Staff friendly.
Cons: Very expensive for basically a room with four bunks and a basin. The description of ‘family room’ was not appropriate, there was not even a chair to sit on.
Pros: Very clean room, shower and toilet. They even have a garage for bikes.
Cons: It was great!
Pros: The swimming pool and the views of the lake were excellent. It was well located for the restaurants etc in town, and the train station was right next door.
Cons: The breakfast was very basic, there was no car parking and lots of kids and school groups in the holidays.
Pros: - The room, linens, bathroom, and hallway were generally clean. Not many people were there when we stayed the night, so it wasn't crowded or noisy at all. - The location was really good. From the window of our room we have a very good view of the lake. - There is a swimming pool (but we didn't use it). - The breakfast was good (bread, yogurt, cereal, orange juice, coffee, milk, cheese, salad, etc.). It wasn't fancy but it definitely met our expectation. - The staff was enthusiastic. - The price was reasonable (much better than the other places in the neighborhood).
Cons: - We were provided with 2 wifi accounts but one of them didn't work at all. - There were only two electric (wall) outlets in the room and neither is close to the beds. - The quilt wasn't very comfortable. - The check-in and check-out windows are both very short (e.g., 4pm-6pm for check-in).
Pros: The great location. close to the train station and the views to the lake, as well as the services it had: swimming pools, etc.
Cons: I didn't expect to pay a tax when being there. However, it was really small, like 2Euros
Pros: Location couldnt be better. There is a beach on one side and parking on the other side of the building. It is not the fanciest but the location makes it all worth it. Would definitely consider again if Im coming to Switzerland!
Cons: During the daytime it might be harder to get the parking spot because there are a lot of daytime visitors to the beach.
With a stay at Quartier4u in Au, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Rhein-Schauen Museum and Railway and Dornbirn Exhibition Fairgrounds. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, laundry facilities, and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Comfortable, clean, well equipped apartment, super friendly and helpful owner. It was an excellent basis for us to discover North-East Switzerland and Lichtenstein. The kitchen contained everything, we needed, the bathroom was clean, the whole apartment created a high quality feeling.
Cons: It was a bit noisy at night, because we had to keep open the windows due to the extraordinary hot weather. The internet speed was slow. It was OK to surf, and Facebook, but too slow for route planning.
Pros: Location was great - really close to the highway
Pros: The host was really nice and helpful, apartment sparkly clean and in a good location to start exploring Switzerland. Can definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to wisit the area.
Pros: It was exactly what it represented
Cons: Every thing was great
A stay at Hecht places you in the heart of Appenzell, steps from Appenzell Museum and Appenzeller Brewery. Featured amenities include a business center, express check-in, and express check-out.
Pros: Central location. Very friendly staff. Great buffet breakfast.
Pros: Rooms were nice and very clean. Breakfast was good, it was a standard continental breakfast buffet, but with some local varieties (Appenzeller cheese). Location was quite good too, just a distance away from the main square and approximately 5 min (10 min with luggage) walk from the station.
Cons: The hotel is near a church so you will hear the church bells frequently, even at night. Would also be nice to have a kettle in the room.
Pros: Great location, friendly staff and amazing wine list in the restaurant
Pros: City, atmosphere
Cons: Everything was OK
Pros: Great location, nice breakfast, friendly staff family room was bigger than most in Switzerland. Highly recommended.
Pros: The card for the trains and trams was excellent
Pros: the location was great as far as being very close to everything we wanted to do...the only negative thing was that the church bells (which were right next to the hotel ) go off every morning at 6:30 am and wake you up !!! otherwise it is a great place...

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a 24-hour business center, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Everything! Really great with small children (2 years old) and for sure without too
Pros: Restaurant is superb and so are the views from the upper floors. Very friendly staff.
Pros: We loved our room, simple, but very comfortable beds and lovely linen. Great park and lake view. The restaurant is amazing, really good food, breakfast super delicious. We also loved the tea kitchen and the staff, very helpful, unobtrusive, but very friendly. The castel in itself is also fun to walk around.
Cons: Our bathroom was a bit smelly. Probably from the drainage. But nothing wich effected our relaxing stay.
Pros: Everything perfect. View perfect. Atmosphere perfect. Wish we could stay longer
Cons: Everything perfect
Pros: The exterior, location, and garden are very beautiful. The restaurant is quite good.
Cons: The interior is merely functional. The price is relatively high, but Switzerland is like that because of the strength of the Swiss franc.
Pros: Friendly check-in, organic food, the down comforters, the beautiful Christmas tree, the lake view, honor system for drinks after hours
Cons: Small room, awkward shower, uptight vibe
Pros: Everything is great. Beautiful setting, great park, walking distance to the lake, nice food. Wonderful for small kids as the have an amazing playroom!
Cons: At this time of the year (end of summer) there are quite soma wasps in the park, which make less enjoyable eating in the terrace.
Located in Grub, Landgasthaus Bären is within a 15-minute drive of Evangelische Kirche Heiden and Passy Plaine-Joux Ski Area. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Pros: The staff were excellent as was Dinner in the restaurant .
Pros: The location is very nice and confortable. The staff is smiling. The restaurant is very good and so is the breakfast.
Cons: On the checkout I asked for an Invoice (which I need for the company I work for) and I got the reply that they dont issue invoices. This is something that I just dont understand and would like to have an explanation for.
Located next to the car-free centre of Appenzell, Hotel Adler is set in a beautiful traditional Appenzell-style building. It offers free Wi-Fi and wired internet access, a breakfast buffet, and a charging station for electric cars. The rooms all provide a private bathroom with shower and toilet and a wide range of free digital TV and radio channels. The Alpstein Mountain nearby is suitable for hikes of all levels. St. Gallen and the famous Abbey can be reached in a 45-minute train ride. With a minimum stay of 3 nights, the Appenzeller Ferienkarte is included in the rate. This card provides many free benefits and reductions in the region.
Pros: One of the most welcoming and hospitable places I’ve ever visited. Such a nice and friendly atmosphere, and the rooms are clean, cosey and like “coming home”. Great and friendly service on all levels! We will definitely come back. Appenzell is amazing and this family-run hotel is the icing on the cake.
Pros: Loved the bed and down comforter. Staff were wonderful with good advice about hikes and restaurants.
Cons: Your bar could benefit from having a good (German) riesling.
Pros: Lovely family run hotel with two good restaurants-very gemütlichkeit. Great walking/hiking area. If time allows St. Gallen, a short train ride away, is worth a visit.
Pros: We came in late and the resturant was attached to the accomodations. The location was fantastic.
Cons: We liked everything.
Pros: A very friendly welcome to a nice family run small hotel & pizza restaurant directly in the centre of Appenzell. We liked the fact that it was located within walking distance of the station and the main street in this lovely small town. Nicely decorated traditional Appenzell bedroom. Good breakfast. Definitely can recommend it. Bonus: We were lucky enough to witness the morning after arrival the descent of the cows from the alps. Quite an experience.
Cons: The morning after arrival being woken up very early by church bells from church next door. Oh well, if I'd known I would have put earplugs in overnight.
With a stay at Säntis - Das Hotel in Urnaesch, you'll be 0.1 mi (0.2 km) from Saentis Cable Car and 15.1 mi (24.2 km) from Iltios Unterwasser Cable Car. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location and room were good.
Cons: The door key would lose it's magnetic identification after twenty minutes completely away from any electronics. After being stuck out of the room for an hour at 11pm in pajamas, the night clerk finally made his way to resolve the issue. I’m not sure if he didn’t speak any English or if he was just being intentionally difficult, but after attempting to explain to him with every conceivable charade gestures for ten minutes my partner used the same phrase from the beginning and immediately comprehended. He insisted that you couldn’t check out for another 12 hours, as if that is something people do in the middle of the night on a mountain 30 minutes from town. Maybe it’s also Swiss custom to walk up into 6 inches of your face and stare at you, but it didn’t happen at any other time in this country. This also goes for starring and sighing with impertinence for an additional 10 minutes. One of the two key cards only worked and he specifically gave me the one that didn’t. I say this because as I attempted to take the both that he handed me, he clamped down on the bottom key, smirked, then languidly handed the other to my partner. Both keys stopped working after 12:30 am. We attempted to get food while we were stuck out of the room, the restaurant closes at 12 but they said they were closing at 10 because their weren’t enough people. The two wait staff that did interact with us acted as though we were being outrageous for even attempting to get food. They charged us something like $30 for some deli meat and free bread. There are no stores anywhere close to this place and the ones in range close early. The staff in the morning without a manager offered us a drink ticket and two free $15 passes for the lift for our inconvenience. Mind you this visit took 2 hours to get to from Zürich and cost about $270 for one night. I would never return nor recommend this hotel to anyone, rich or poor. It was not worth the money, and the attitude of the staff was infuriating.
Pros: The spa facilities were state of the art!
Pros: This is a special place because of the location. The room was modern and clean and the layout of the room was really good. We were afraid that the hotel would feel big and unpersonal but it wasn’t. The breakfast up on the mountain was amazing and something you wouldn’t want to miss
A stay at Hotel Mozart Rorschach places you in the heart of Rorschach, within a 15-minute drive of Grand Casino St. Gallen and Abbey Library of Saint Gall. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, laundry facilities, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: The hotel was clean and staff was friendly.
Cons: The hotel is way overdue for renovations. Also the location (next to a railroad with heavy trains in the middle of the night) is very noisy.
Pros: Nice clean hotel
Cons: Price is expensive compared to the facilities. Poor breakfast, no aircon, no coffee/ tea facility in room.
Pros: The room was a bit on the small size for two people. However the location was wonderful, steps from the boat launch, the lake of course, and the Rorschach Hafen rail station. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The hotel is located in the area of many stores and a Coop food market.
Cons: There was nothing that we didn’t like.
Pros: This is one of those places you feel lucky to find: a small hotel in a good location with friendly staff and a good breakfast.
Pros: Spacious room, very comfortable. A bonus was a voucher for a free welcome drink in the cafe. There was apparently a voucher for free travel to St Gallen, but as I already had a rail pass I didn't need it.
Cons: Choice of food in the cafe/restaurant was a bit limited. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been appreciated.
Surrounded by hills and mountains, the family-run Landgasthaus Neues Bild occupies a historic building, a 10-minute drive from the centre of Appenzell. It features a restaurant with a summer terrace, serving Swiss and international cuisine. All rooms at the Landgasthaus Neues Bild come with solid wooden furniture. Many free parking spaces available directly in front of the hotel.
Pros: Beautiful country location and great staff with a really good restaurant. I really enjoyed my venison dinner!
Cons: Can't think of a thing.
Pros: Bring ear plugs. The church bell ring every half hour
Pros: Friendly and efficient welcome, attractive setting in bucolic Swiss village. Wonderful church bell-tower across the road but those not used to massive bongs every quarter-hour will find it nocturnally intrusive.
Cons: Gloomy (shared) toilet-shower area up the stairs.
Pros: We liked the location close to Appenzell, peacefulness, within our budget and the hosts were lovely.
Pros: Nicely located in the old town.
