We liked Borja, the stunning views, the food was good, especially good.
Great views and very nice junior suite. The food was good. It was very very hard to find and the directions you get from Bookings.com (mapquest) were not even close to right. We needed to ask directions many times as we got closer and closer. Gps in the rental car would have helped a lot.
no tea or coffee making facilities
The peace and quiet of the surroundings Whilst the food was quite good - there could be room for improvement
Have visited the restaurant before for lunch and it is the location that attracted us for a return visit Fee you quoted was not correct, hotel did phone in advance and advised of increased fees for the weekend part of the stay. Your figure of 206.00 was incrreased to 103 for the Thursday and 136 for the Friday.
Only 5 or 6 guests at hotel. Therefore they could not present the full menu in a fresh cooked state. It was obvious that it had been microwaved. Not good. Curtailed our stay
location is its selling point plus value for money getting the same menu two days in a row
The position of the hotel - fantastic views - uncommercialised - good walking area. The food was not brilliant.
The location was ideal with beautiful view, food was excellent especially breakfasr buffet. The air conditioning didnt work properly & the room walls are not well insulated, as we were continualy disturbed by a family with young child next door!!
I like the bungalow type room with the lounge upstairs. The room position on top of the mountain was great and hence there good views from both the lounge and the bedroom together with the balcony. The shower had no screen or curtain over the bath hence water went everywhere.I viewed the rooms in the main building and thought they lack character and were basic.
A nice confortable friendly hotel, pleasant staff and English speaking manager who was most helpful. We booked breakfast which was extremely good for the extra 2 euros each no problems
Close to glorious beach and marina.Pleasant staff. I thought I had fridge and balcony was disappointed not to have balcony and pay for small fridge which iced up.
close walk to the beach, we had a good stay.
Friendliness and helpfulness
Price and location are especially good for beach lovers who dont mind crowded beaches. For me Gandia beach is not the place to be, but the hotel is ok.
Friendly staff and an excellent pool area which was quiet. Beds and pillows were not the best.
Good location for us. Clean and quiet. Breakfast was not great, but staff were very friendly.
I attended a conference the air conditioning I wasn't very good.
Perfect location, proximity to the beach and bars/restaurants
Our stay at Hotel Albatros was one of our best hotel experiences....ever. We had to change reservations at the last minute...no problem. Great directions to our restaurant in Denia from the night clerk. A super bright, clean room with a great view. The most comfortable hotel bed ever. A real bathroom with a real bathtub. Awesome real breakfast with the best orange juice I ever had....and I am from Anaheim, California. Oh....and everyone working there smiles all the time....a pleasant change from Barcelona!!
Location is good and service was good
balcony view, easy convience to the beach, clean room elevator service, it says indoor pool but you had to pay for the indoor pool/spa and its not applicable to kids, good breakfast but too expensive, not enough staff for check in- took over 30mins
Third degree trying to get into the casino! Staff were friendly and offered free drinks in lieu of hassel.
Probably because of the time of year the hotel was deserted and therefore had no atmosphere. This was compounded by th esize of the hotel which is most likely full with tour groups in the summer. Although internet access was free it had to be renewed every day. The staff seemed incapable of using the computer system to the extent that it took nearly thirty minuteds to produce a bill at the end of a meal in the restaurant (which was empty except for myself and my colleague).
I didnt see anybody it was so quiet, no barman in so called bar in the afternoon, restaurant not open till 8.30, another restaurant didnt exist and I dont go to a 4 star hotel to eat pizza at pizza hut, so all in all not very good See above
Clean comfortable rooms, gorgeous pool, nice quiet location. Lovely spanish bar staff. Some reception staff were consistanly rude. Very thin walls between rooms...not pleasant!
I loved the fact that we were only a couple of blocks from the beach. The room I had was nice and was very spacious. All the restaurants in the hotel were also nice, especially with the young kids. The indoor pool is only for the spa so we were not able to go to it with the kids. The outdoor pool is not heated, so again in the Spring it was too cold to go in.
location and breakfast didnt open till 8am - so not a business type hotel
friendly helpfull staff, although most of them only speak spanish. clean room and bathroom with enough space for 3 adults although 3rd "temporary" bed was rather small. reasonal breakfast buffet. ordered non smoking room but got room on 1 of the 3 smokers floors, but room did not smell bad so we accepted the room. swimming pool almost all day in the shadow between 4 walls so useless, excess to spa and fitness area only via shopping area. hotel is only equipped for spanish speaking guests, including menues, leaflets for trips, manual for the spa equipment and other announcements etc.
We had a wonderful view of the ocean. the beds were very hard and breakfast buffet was not heated properly and selection poor.
Location and proximity to nearby beach along with great view on seaside Ethernet passwords resetting every 24 hours is a bugger, you know I have a room, I did not check out yet, keep my acccess valid
The view, cleanliness and courtesy bottles of water were all pleasant. The staff were friendly and tred to be helpful The wi-fi was inoperable or of such low signal that it wouldn't work. There was only one lift to the 6th floor and I waited 7 minutes for it one morning.
The food was cold, badly cooked and greasy.
Price Not for business traveler (wifi practically was not working, quality of the breakfast not appropriate for a 4Star)
room interior very nice 99% of guests - old people
I liked the simplicity of the room, the lack of clutter but also the comfort. I also liked the atmosphere in the hotel, there was a good buzz. I would certainly repeat the experience.
view from the bedroom to the sea, qualty of the room, politeness of reception, choice in restaurant refused coffee/juice with evening meal - told to go to cafeteria area and buy our own. staff generally not interested also at breakfast
The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful. Location, just one street back from the beach is excellent. The food is typically Spanish but then thankfully, it isn't an English resort like Benidorm My only comment is that the gym doesn't open until 9am - it would be nice if you could go for a work out before breakfast.
For old people. Choose the other one RH Bayern front of the sea.
The hotel is pleasant, comfortable, and very clean. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The hotel facilities are excellent, and it is well positioned to enjoy the beaches, local restaurantes and shopping areas WiFi internet access username and password needed to be renewed frequently.
Hotel located on the beach Food was poor
Close to the beach, own pool. The hotel room was looking a bit shabby, linen had been darned, mini bar lock damaged, drab room decoration.
The views of the beach and pool food was better on some days than others. Some hotel staff were very helpful others rude.
The location and sea views The buffet food was limited to Spanish preferences and not replenished often enough. No access to the lifts from the car park and in an adequate demonstration of Spanish logic were sited at the extreme opposite end of the hotel to reception. Much baggage = hard work.
Hotel was in a wonderful location just across the road from the beautiful clean beach. We had a lovely balcony and sea view. Room was a good size with a large bathroom.
Sea view, good size room, comfortable and excellent breakfast buffet. Good value for money. No complaints!
The food was tasty at the hotel. What I mentioned in the first question, and in addition to this the staff were not too nice and helpful, and in the first night there were a band in the lobby in one of the conference room, they played until midnight and it was impossible to sleep, we heard everything in our room! It shouldnt happen in a supposiliy four star hotel, where people come to rest...We asked them to turn the music down, it didnt help at all. Also the bed in the room was really uncomfortable, really old and very soft, you could feel the spirals in it and made sound every time you moved. Also in the fitness room everything is broken and very dirty.
personel almost spoke no english. breakfest started at 8 that is late when you travel with small kids. hotel is too expensive to what was offered.
The staff were very helpful and the location was good although not easy to find if arriving by car. NIce restaurants locally. Meal prices in hotel restaurant very fair Lack of Internet access. Only WiFi. Fine if you are a business man with a laptop with wireless capability but no good for the average internet user. ie picking up e-mail. Tea/coffee facility in the room would be nice.
Location,helpfull staff, rooms
Staff were very friendly and helpful
I was surprised and disapointed to have to pay to use the indoor swimming pool at a 4 star hotel.
Beautiful pool and close to a long lovely sandy beach. Good breakfast, although with lousy coffee. Good service. Clean and green parklike resort, geared to golfers and their families. Fair prices for food and drinks. Beach Bar and facilities only available from 1 July to 15 September. The 2 restaurants do not offer lunch and dinner of 4-star quality. Nearest towns are at least 7 km away, so you absolutely need a bike or a car. Hotel is part of a large golf village with 100's of apartments and houses which by September 15 were already almost all empty which makes it feel like a 'ghost town', especially when night falls.
good hotel, pool & beach, free wifi internet for longer stay, meals (especially dinners, but breakfests also) were boring... 2kms from Oliva, you have to use your car if you want to go there
The space, peace and quiet even though the hotel was quite full The hotel hadn't confirmed if the Spa was included in the rate and wouldn't change even though it was a clear request on their printed copy of the booking.
Well laid out and equipped resort hotel. Good rooms, very spacious all round and very clean, well maintained. Easy access to beach and sea None
Vieuw from our room, beautifull and clean beach, , lovely pool, great golfcourse . The menu of the restaurant is absolutely value for money. Remoteness: no other restaurants nearby, you need a car. Only one small supermarket in the neigbourhood with very limited stock and quiet expensive. Very noisy during the weekends. They kept us awake untill 06.00 hours. The beach "bar" and poolrestaurant close after 15th of september.
The great, friendly staff was the highest standout. They had us settled in with no fuss and lots of smiles. There was nothing we didn't like about this hotel - we were cursing that we didn't have more time there.
The beach, the swimming pool, the golf, the GP and the cash point in the resort. The restaurants are poor and there is nothing else around which means you are stuck there in the evening. You will have to go to Denia to have a choice of many restaurants. The best restaurant in term of food and service is the one at the golf club.
Stayed for three nights, breakfast great, beds comfy, staff very helpfull and friendly. Downside tv channels were rubbish first two nights not much english and reception poor. On third day came back to room to find two brand new lcd tvs and we had some sky channels. Maybe they noticed our dvd player we took. Better late than never See other box sorry
Beautiful small hotel set in an orange grove with the mountains as a backdrop. There is impressive attention to detail throughout the hotel which leaves a lasting memory.
Hidden gem well worth a visit. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Small and select former farmhouse in pleasant grounds - off the beaten track, but easy access to town and beaches. A car is essential if you want to visit the surrounding area. An authentic Spanish hotel in a nice area - we will return.
It was very rural so felt like staying in "real Spain" rather than the tourist areas, which is what we wanted to experience. However it also had a nice restaurant with a good menu and a swimming pool so provided facilities that meant you didn't have to keep leaving the hotel and driving. The only suggestion we can make is that the hotel is very difficult to find from the n332 and is not actually signed until you turn off. We had to stop and ask at the Tourist Infomation office in Pego. Without her directions we would never have found it. It needs to be signposted from the main road.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Location was perfect. Room was clean and comfortable. Very noisy. 2 nights I had trouble sleeping, once from street noise and once because of obnoxious guests next to me.
the hotel was clean and staff were very friendly, this was after they had made a mix up with our booking!! but everything was sorted out in the end. Really enjoyed the atmosphere during the evening at the bar.
Location was excellent
Great location right on the beach
Close to beach. Full board variety and quality.
Position and size of hotel. Fantastic sea view if in rooms facing beach as we were Lack of parking available throughout the resort - only once in 7 days able to park within 0.5km of hotel
One of my friends' mobile phone disappearde after being forgotten in room. Following morning he found it wisely hidden under matras.
Friendly staff, location close to the beach. The food offered in full board was good as for this kind of hotels, especially lunches and dinners. A vast majority of the rooms outlooks 15 store high ugly apartment building on the other side of a very narrow lane. There are two disco's in this building. During our stay one of them was in operation with people gathering in front of our room and talking loudly up to very late hours.
Food a bit bland - catering for the elderly Could be very noisy at night from outside
Cleanliness, friendly staff and convienent for town and beach. Breakfast good. Buffet meals in evening not the best.
Even though no members of staff spoke english, they tried their upmost to accomodate us and our baby girl. They were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was great, plenty of option and plenty to go at! The rooms were cleaned impeccably and the pool area was spotless. The queue for the two lifts every mealtime! Seems other customers do not like to use the stairs so when we had the pushchair we sometimes had to carry it upstairs as the queue was too . Also some people may not like the fact no-one speaks english, for us it made the holiday more authentic.
The proximity to the beach, nice pleasant staff and the food
friendly staff no one speak English. i very not recommend that hotel, every thin was on a very low level. nothing was sorted for us, everything was difficult. staff make lots of mistakes. they not serving almost nothing for vegetarians, and even they now about this they leave us sandwiches with meet!. every day lots of problems. first time something like that heppend to us.
A really nice hotel, location was very good for the beach too Just that the beds were very hard, otherwise was really good
very closed to the beach. and lots of restaurant around . The restaurant staff is a bit unfriendly.spacial morning breakfast . the breakfast was not so good.
Proximity to the sea and good views from 10th floor
The room was wonderful and views fantastic. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to our friends and family and hope to return again in the summer ourselves. We were very disappointed that the spa bath in our room did not work and we did not feel the evening meal was very exciting. It would be excellent if the hotel also had a restaurant where food was cooked fresh (at extra cost of course)
Good location near beach. Breakfast was good. Lovely views from balcony. Basic room for 3 star hotel. One elevator was broken for 3 days. Safety box not free. No wifi in room.
We have felt great, thank you for your kindness and conditions offered. We will recommend this hotel to our friends.Congratulations offered to cook for food. It was excellent. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are very clean.Certainly, we will come back here.
Quiet and very good places to eat a spanish holiday resort.Didnt meet any british.
Clean modern hotel in a quiet area and conveniently placed for exploring the coast & country Our final nights sleep was marred by noise owing to large numbers of schoolchildren talking in the corridors and slamming doors till 2.30am. If we knew parties of children were booked, we would have asked them to accommodate them away from us! However, we'll still stay there again.
breakfast was excellent with a huge variety of foods from which to choose it was a little bit hard to find/ not really a problem though
The room was quite big and clean with a nice balcony. There was English TV channel - SkyNews - that was great, as most of Spanish hotels we were staying at had just Spanish TV. The breakfast was quite poor.
excellent value for money good heating as it was winter off season not very busy but first class buffet beakfast as good as the paradors comfortable rooms all with sea view only about 100mtrs from sea
price and comfort of room the resort of miramar itself is terrible
pease and weather no
clean and practicle
For the price it was excellent value, staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was good given the overall cost of the room!
The room was warm enough and suprisingly quiet in spite of the traffic in the street outside our window. There could have been some small bottles of wine in the frigde and some drinking glasses.
The room was very large Everything rather old but adequate
Nothing at all The hotel constantly smelt of cigarettes, including the bedrooms.
Staff are helpfull & facilities are good. Breakfast is adequate. The carpet in our room was dirty, worn & ripped. However the room itself was clean.
Central hotel within 5 minutes walk of the old town. Front rooms have proper balconies overlooking quite wide street. Despite requesting non- smoking room, this room had been smoked in. We did not eat or drink in the hotel. Free street parking near.
The worst bed ever. It's like you sleeping on a ston floor. I couldn´t sleep.
It is located in the city centre and has public parking places all around, which during the weekends are free.
The location during a fiesta was excellent to visit everything on offer in the town. Despite the festival, the hotel was quiet, the breakfast was excellent and the atmosphere was friendly and efficient. A feel good experience and superb value Nothing - for a 3 star hotel, it punched above it's weight
Nice location in the historic commercial part of Gandia. Quite good cafeteria with cheap menu. Breakfast buffet is also good. Reservation was not found (immediately), but fortunately there were sufficient rooms.
we ordered non-smoking room, but got the room for smokers
The bathroom was renewed
convenient stop over rooms minimal, food basic price high for what we got
Nice hotel not fare fron the sea. With good pool. Some rooms with seaview. Upon arrival receprion suggested us room on the first floor with the balkony door on the root. This door could be easily opened as the lock was brocken and our neighbours can easily come to our room. We asked to change the room and they gave us pleasant room with seaview. For 5 nights our staing towels was not changed as well as linen. The eatingroom is too crouded.
Beautiful, tranquil setting. High attention to detail - luxury touches in the room; fruit and gift set including slippers, tea making facilities, newspapers. Polite and helpful staff, and above all, excellent food. Not very easy to find/poorly signposted.
The hotel is one of the most beautiful I have ever had the pleasure to stay at, and I have stayed at many five star hotels in the past. I will be booking again, for gettaways, weekends etc. If you love natural surroundings and outstanding cuisine, and beautiful stone buildings furnished very tastfully, this is the place for you.
Great ambiance, lovely setting and grounds both historic and natural. Excellent food and wine. Helpful staff. Our room was small Only one bedside table with no bedside light. Airconditioning worked very well.
The room, view, hospitality and restaurant.
The hotel has so much character, and the grounds are lovely. Our bedroom was comfortable with a good bathroom. Good breakfast, great staff. We really enjoyed eating outside in the evening. It was very hard to find the hotel and the directions were of no help. The restaurant produced lovely food but expensive.
Excellent hotel but suffers from inattention to detail. Drain in wash basin not working, plug off chain in bathtub, inadequate lighting, cold plates served with hot meal. I would readily return, but I think your hotel lacks demanding management. I pass over the fact we had not hot water in our first room because the personnel immediately moved us to a better room.
very pleasant place and nice view over the city of Xativa.good cuisine at restaurant
fantastic. loved the hotel, staff friendly and helpful. beautirful location had gourmet meal which was excellent. will definately return for a longer stay. breakfast was expensive
Attended a Wedding in Xativa on Sat 12/09/09 no
It is without a doubt one of the most outstanding hotels that I have ever stayed inand I have stayed in fine hotels all round the world. The unique tranquil setting, fabulous multilingual attentive staff and a superb kitchen . It is a true Gem and in my opinion deserves an extra star.!
Lovely hotel and nice setting. Stylish and tasteful. Excellent food recommendations. Very friendly owners. We were the only people staying for the first two nights but it did mean we got good service. When we arrived we were told that we'd booked a cheaper twin room (though it was shown on booking.com as a double). The double rooms were more expensive though we were upgraded for the same price as the hotel wasn't full.
Absolutely fabulous hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, sensational setting. Host made us feel at home straight away. Can't say enough good things about this hotel.
The hospitality was great. The place is a gem, situated in the hills of Alcoy. The owners go for quality all the way! It is really a place to stay longer than for one night! Don't forget to visit the town of Alcoy when there are great festivities for 3 days (two weeks after Easter). We will come back!
