10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tomaria was a fantastic place to stay when we were going to carfest. Room was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed, The games room was an added bonus - it kept my teenage son occupied! Vicky and Dave were lovely - couldn't have been friendlier and made sure we were looked after. Breakfast room was great and the choice was fantastic - I have a very fussy teenager but plenty for him to eat. They've certainly thought of everything. Gardens were beautiful although the weather wasn't great when we were there, it would've been lovely to sit out. Plenty of parking spaces too.
Cons: I couldn't fault anything.

Pros: It was everything we needed for our stay. Comfy beds and good service.
Cons: The only thing the bathroom had a musty / strange smell which I have noticed once before at another hotel. Must be old drains?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifull building and location, lovely staff. Fantastic value for money and so much nicer than your supposed low cost chain hotels.
Cons: Nothing to say here
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very accommodating staff, helpful and friendly. Agreed to change our booking at the last minute although they did not need to. Lovely grounds.
Cons: Breakfast was good but there could perhaps have been a greater selection of fresh fruit.
6.8 Good
Pros: Went for a quiet rest!!!!! Picked for location, which was as expected.
Cons: Room 18 was picked apparently as we had 'special needs'!!! As we are required by law we had told them that 'while asleep' we would both be unable to hear a fire alarm. BEFORE we arrived! We have always in almost 30 years had very good responses from hotels etc. - these varied very excellent to good, but they always appreciated knowing this fact. Room 18 has very large kitchen extractor fans outside the windows. During our visit the weather was very hot & humid. The noise was loud even with the windows shut. I explained my particular difficulty because of a specific type of hearing loss to the receptionist, she ensured me that the fans went off during the evening & there was no need for us to change rooms as I had requested on seeing the room. Stupidly I believed her! At 11.15pm the fans were still going & I went down to reception again. At this point I was told that we could not move as we had 'special needs' that required us to be in that room!! The room was not set up for 'special needs' - no bath hand rail, in fact it was difficult to reach even the 'bubbled' part of the bath floor as the shower screen even covered the standard hand rail on the side of the bath! The hotel actually states it is not suitable for wheelchair users! So why 'special needs' for us. Only that we were known to be DEAF & wouldn't hear the noise like other guests. So ignorant. So the fans went off at 11.30 & came back on at 7am!!! Wonder which room we would have had if we hadn't told them. Picture of fans available - the window sill (over 3ft high) was the emergency exit, then negotiate the small passage between wall & fan system!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel grounds are lovely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing

Pros: booked here for cheshire oaks stay, hotel was amazing! we got such a good mid week price, grounds are stunning with birds and rabbits running around :) there was a wedding the day we were checking out looked beautiful! would definetly stay here again for a romantic stay with hubby, room was nice and modern weather was very hot when we stayed and staff had opened windows and a stand fan circulating room for us so wasn't too hot in room when we entered. breakfast brill cooked if wished plus continental. 15 min drive from oaks. excellent stay would recommend
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful grounds, beautiful house. Good facilities in the room. Very warm so fan was brilliant.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location close to the office. Lovely setting, country like feel.
Cons: Sat down in an empty room to eat my afternoon lunch. Was told to move into another room where everyone was drinking and not eating and had to eat off my lap. Why could I not make use of an empty dining table??????

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location but Nice room but thin walls with noises from other rooms regular.
Cons: Noise from other rooms.
6.3 Good
Pros: It had a lovely bathroom
Cons: The key would not work and I could not get into the reception at 11.00pm to enable me to get it sorted. I had to telephone someone to let me into the room. They then let me in the room and could not provide me with another one. The ceiling light was hanging from a wire which was a fire risk. I had to ask for it to be fixed. The room smelt damp and the beds (Twin) were basic and hard. There was no shower Gel in the bathroom this was broken, the sink plug was broken and a rubber plug was provided instead. TV remote did not work.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole experience was fantastic stayed many times before and always have had great service . Food superb.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff were very nice, we enjoyed the food, breakfast was lovely, location was excellent and our bed was very big and comfortable. Room was large and nicely decorated even though it needed a bit of sprucing up.
Cons: Down points were the poor quality of the travel cot provided, we'd have brought one if we'd known and ended up putting the baby in bed with us. The mattress was thin and hard but what was worse is that they didn't have a bottom sheet that fit so had wrapped a flat sheet around the mattress which of course was loose. Anyone with a new baby knows that a tightly fitted sheet is so important and i wasn't happy to let my baby sleep in the cot. Other poor point was that we were above the kitchen. It was really really loud, and a bit smelly. I ended up going downstairs to ask them to turn the fans off around 10pm, which to be fair they did and it was much better. The room itself had been beautiful at some point but was a bit old and shabby and needed a spruce up, the bathroom especially. Breakfast was charged separately to the room and I'm unsure really if all together it was worth what we paid but it was one of the better value hotels in the area for the date we needed to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff great breakfast evening meal In restaurant Relaxing quiet, ideal location for chester Merseyside and surrounding areas The price of rooms, clean and very comfortable no faults at all
Cons: Leaving

Pros: Bed was very comfortable and the staff were pleasant. Breakfast is a continental serve yourself style, but for the money, that's fine. Shower had lots of power and the water was hot.
Cons: A little noise from the bar downstairs filtered up, but was quiet at a reasonable time. Curtains could be improved, but were adequate to keep prying eyes from watching into the room

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Small hotel with the friendliest landlord ever, 5 minutes drive from the airport, clean and tidy, comfy bed, good continental breakfast!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good sized room which was clean and comfortable. Owners very friendly and helpful. Little noise at night despite being over the hotel bar. Continental breakfast quite extensive although would not suit some people as was set up outside of, and had to be eaten in the room- this suited us as we had to leave early and bits could be taken with us. Would happily stay there again were I in need of accommodation in the area.
Cons: Slightly off the main routes and the area had a little to be desired. Be wary of first impressions as the hotel and car park at first sight seemed very tired looking and this was confirmed by the bar area inside. However the friedliness of staff and locals together with room quality removed any reservations that we may have initially felt.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Modern comfortable and friendly people in the bar. Extra heater in room as very cold night. Great value for money
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were clean the beds were comfy and having a separate front door to the rooms and not having to go through the bar to get to the rooms and car packing at the back of the pub the landlord was very pleasant
Cons: Shower couldn’t get the hot water only cool tried for 20 mins to get the flow gave up the effort in the end room above the bar we were staying got quite nosy in the bar we went out about 8pm and came back at 2am so it was very quiet Room was cold the radiatos didn’t come on to later in the evening as we were going out put the fan heater on it the room to take chill off but had not been used for a while so the smell was not very nice and had to turn it off Breakfast was very simple but ok to set us off on our travel home

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great bed. Amazing TV. Girlfriend loved the Jacuzzi bath and there was a wedding on and it made us think about how great it would be to have a wedding at this location. The garden was great and loved the little walk way down to the river and water fall!
Cons: There was a wedding on that we did not know about until we got to the venue to book in but this generally didn't disturb us. Only downside was that it was raining and there was a wedding party there who had kids that were wandering around the grounds, with our room being on the ground floor we had to close the curtains to have privacy as there were no net curtains.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Beautiful location and gardens receptionist Gemma was lovely
Cons: • Music playing until 1:00 am • decor was very run down • Room was very dusty and when the jets for the spa bath were turned on there was an awful smell. Arrived later in the evening after a horrible journey wanted to get to our room and relax. Had music playing until 1am in the morning had to call to get them to turn it off. Was Reassured the next evening it wouldn’t happen again to find out that they actually have a licence for music until 1am. Which if we knew we would have never booked due to wanting a quiet relaxing weekend. Also the room were terrible dusty and being asthmatic this completely effected it all weekend. I would not recommend this hotel unless they begin to update as this is very much needed.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Evening staff and entertainers
Cons: Cold worn room with no heating grim interiors

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Choice
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean, good location for us, good breakfast choice.
Cons: Although the staff were very nice and welcoming, checking in and breakfast were a bit chaotic. The room wasn’t ready although it was after 2pm, then the receptionist couldn’t allocate it to us until she had changed something on the computer. It all took about 20 minutes. Then the room key didn’t work so had to return to reception. Breakfast - no one to greet and take room number, had to search for cups, teabags and teaspoons, no pastries etc were available and a long wait for fried eggs meant we didn’t bother. Just seemed to need someone in charge!! No organisation. Having said all this we would stay at Runcorn again and usually try and stay in a Holiday Inn when we can.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Cleanliness fair.
Cons: Lack of staff at the breakfast, no cups, no milk for cereals and no juice. Ran out and did not replenish quickly.

Pros: The staff and the hotel were excellent. It was our wedding anniversary whilst we were there and we happened to put up our cards to one another in our bedroom. The chambermaid left us a lovely message of greeting that night which was so thoughtful and showed they cared about what they did.
Cons: Think it should be listed as Frodsham not Runcorn as Frodsham side of the M56.. we knew where it was before we booked and actually wanted a place near Frodsham!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff where amazing. The ladies and gents really helpful friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Especially Julie, Molly and Steph who serviced our room and ladies on reception. Lovely stay. Thank you.

Pros: Good location. Close to main roads but in a quiet area.
Cons: Breakfast, food and drinks expensive.
6.8 Good
Pros: Staff on reception were exceptionally friendly and helpful
Cons: Housekeeping was poor (rooms dusty, our mugs were not cleaned and none of the tea / coffee items were replenished). Breakfasted just after 9am on a Saturday (published times stated ‘available till 10:30am’) and many items were no longer available. They struggled to locate a table for 4 as most tables had not been cleared.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Needs updating shower paint was peeling off and some breakfast staff slow. Everything else good. Food very good. pool , air conditioning and price and breakfast times and departure time.
Cons: Breakfast food running out some staff slow

We stayed with the meal deal and it's the only place I can say that the deal was worth every penny . It was 3 courses every night or the 3 we stayed the menu changed . . My partner is wheat and gluten intolerance and they couldn't of been more help full. The rooms are little old fashioned but they where clean and the room was cleaned daily.
Cons: The check out was lo g winded as they hadnt put something on the bill ... we had to move rooms as the one we had was noisey for some reason but they where more than helpfull.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Location. Great breakfast. Great room - room was upgraded.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff were excellent without exception, attentive thoughtful friendly and professional. Reception staff were brilliant with alot of thoughtful touches which were very much appreciated. Breakfast comprehensive and staff really friendly and helpful.
Cons: Awful smell of drains in both bedrooms. Bath didnt drain away (water still there in the morning?) in one room and water bubbled through sink when bath drained in the second which was a little disconcerting.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fab staff especially Nicola the restaurant manager. Such a great lady and nothing too much trouble. Reception girls very friendly also. Food fab too.
Cons: Little touches in the room make a 4 star property. So black bits round bath, dirty shower head. No fan or air con. Frayed cord on blind. Little things that require attention really. Room needs a little tlc. Apart from that great hotel. But needs water fountain pool side.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast
Cons: Decor a bit tired
5.8 Okay
Pros: Had to move rooms, first had disabled bathroom unable to get under the show
Cons: Staff eating at receiption, no cover for breaks, no knowledge of the type of room we had been allocated or its restrictions, poor management training.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff gave the sense of togetherness, they had a great sense off fun and good humour with one another. This created a great atmosphere in the hotel. The breakfast had a great and varied choice? From porridge with honey, fresh fruit, pancakes with syrup, kippers with black pudding to the traditional fry-up. Nothing was too much of a bother to any of the staff at this hotel. My husband ate already looking to return to frotsham in October for our anniversary.
Cons: The rude, nasty arrogant landlord of the CHOLMONDELLY ARIVIS public house!! STAY AWAY from this pub! There are lovely places to eat and drink where the staff are just so friendly and warm. This public house really had no reflection on the lovely people in this wonderful village.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, staff very helpful & breakfast was great! Will be back !
6.8 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, excellent breakfast.
Cons: The hotel is old and very tired. The electrics in the bedroom were poor. Lamps and lights were not working . There was no hairdryer and the decoration was in very poor condition. That said we managed O.K. At the time of our stay it was extremely hot weather , we had taken a small electric fan with us ..a good job for the hotel provided no such facility .
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was good for our needs as we were going to Tatton Park Flower show and Chester. Breakfast was brilliant, great choice on the breakfast menu. Could just help yourself to coffee. Maybe a wider choice of cereals would be good though. Also had a meal in the hotel. Good choices and great food, good service. Staff were attentive and saw to our needs .
Cons: Would have preferred a pot of coffee at the table at breakfast, but otherwise you could help yourself to the coffee that was on the warmer.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was excellent - cooked as we waited and came quickly. the porridge was especially delicious. The room that we ate breakfast in was well decorated Staff were friendly and helpful when we could not find the guest WiFi The complimentary drinks tray was well stocked with an actual cafitierre for the coffee and a luxury hot chocolate. There was lots of hot water for the bath and the shower was new and worked well.
Cons: The TV, apart from being small, didn't work - kept getting 'no signal' No welcome folder so didn't get told about facilities The toilet was squeezed in between the wall and the bath leaving no room either side and was uncomfortable to use sitting down There was a large hairball in the sink Only one bedside lamp in the room and that didn't work (but staff did change it) Overall, the room (room1) we stayed in was poorly decorated and had lots of odd electrical sockets that were obviously ancient left in the wall.

7.5 Good
Pros: Room was comfortable and clean. Stayed at hotel for a wedding. Staff ok.
Cons: Being woken up at 8.20 am, then 8.40 and again a bit later by a fire alarm. Had deliberately not booked breakfast so wouldn't have to get up early as had been at a wedding in the hotel all day. When I mentioned it at reception I was informed it was due to guests having their shower too hot. Obviously this had happened previously as the receptionist said it was a nuisance.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good.
Cons: The room we stayed in on the first floor was mouldy and smelled bad.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Room needs refurbishment, 2nd bar area tatty . Outside area was messy with lots of used glasses and cigarette ends
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Leaving .
Cons: The wedding on the Friday night which involved adults and children screaming , in the corridors , slamming the doors , resulting in a phone call to the on duty staff at 12.40 am , this had lasted for over 4 hours . The poor staff did their best . There was another wedding on Saturday night when at least it was only the music which could be heard above the TV .The 3rd night there were no weddings so we settled to have a drink in the comfy sofas in the lobby whilst reading the newspapers .We were then asked to move to our room 12 minutes later because the staff were about to deal with an ongoing incident .So if you wish to stay somewhere you can sleep , enjoy a drink from the bar and stay in peace .Do not stay here . Breakfast was cooked and then just left out uncovered until it had become wrinkly .
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean friendly hotel
Cons: The tv in my room would only recieve one channel (BT Sport) when mentioned at reception i was told "we're in the process of upgrading the tv's)

Pros: Love staying here me and my girlfriend stay a lot just to get away for the weekend a change of scenery we enjoy our stay every time
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, tidy and comfortable. Friendly staff and a suitable location for local amenities and motorway links.
Cons: A little dated, but for the price no complaints.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Easy access, ground floor room. Budget friendly.
Cons: I understand it's a 2star hotel, however, having mould and stained carpets is just general cleanliness? We booked has we had stayed at the Liverpool one however this one is in need of a lot of repairs, the room was ready for a good paint n refresh. Staying as a couple we had to go and ask for a 2nd towel, the bathroom floor looked like it hadn't had a good mop in a long time, and the carpet was in desperate need of replacement, full of stains, and extremely worn. Yes the price is good however once again we stay at the Liverpool one for the same price and that was in a lot better condition.
7.5 Good
Pros: Parking and location for where we needed to be. The room was much nicer than last time, in that it didn’t smell and the mattress was usable. If you like your rooms to have that 1970s Prison feeling. You will love this hotel. If you get it for a decent price , it’s OK.
Cons: All it needs is., new carpets, new beds, new paint job and a new bathroom ( or at least a mirror that didn’t have brown stains on it, a toilet that flushed and taps which didn’t feel like they were just about to break off ) and it would be almost acceptable. It’s a Campanile and it’s in Runcorn - that should really tell you all you need to know !!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: After a tough day and a last minute cancellation, it was such a relief to find a room here and Dean from the hotel staff was the most welcoming and helpful person ever. I would recommend this hotel!
4.3 Okay
Pros: Not much

6.3 Good
Pros: The staff were amazing and the breakfast was great value for money
Cons: The mattress was awful. Had to sleep on top of the duvet so we didn't feel the springs so much
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff , clean and quiet , my room was at the back of the building so we also had a garden for ourselves, i spend really wonderful time , i would stay longer if i only could
Cons: nothing , honestly everything was just great
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It's very relaxed . You can come and go as you please
Cons: I booked 3 rooms and didn't realise that the payment was coming out off my account. We had planned to pay individually.
