Staff was very friendly and accomodating
It's in a fabulous spot. I love the Bradford Marina and being able to walk into the city centre. It has lots of places for food and drink in easy walking distance. The hotel is modern and bright, with nicely sized rooms, comfy beds and wifi included. I am a Hilton Honours member and this should have been checked prior to check in and it wasn't. A small thing, but it's nice to be recognised.
very nice room.excellent facilities and friendly staff.would recommend to friends and would stay again
Clean and comfortable.
Very good location. When I arrrived at the hotel,I was given a room which was already occupied, quite embarrassing when I went to the room.My sheets in the room which I was then allocated were not completely clean.
No Full English breaksfast, this is the first hotel we have stayed with no full english!! We are both very disapointed as we enjoy staying at various hotels throughout the country. We would stay at hotel again if you provided full english breakfast
Very new and contemporary.Room has everything you need Hotel well located for central Lincoln. Even though its just off a roundabout you cannot hear the traffic outside due to the excellent double glazing. Unable to work shower in room. Informed staff was'nt such a problem as only stayed one night
This was a new hotel ideally situated for our needs. Excellent car parking. The breakfast was very good. Beats Travelodge handsdown.
Location very convenient, room was of a good standard and plenty of car parking Breakfast was fine but bacon would have been a nice addition- unusual to not have it as an option. Stay was fairly good value but never had to pay for hotel parking before.
It was comfortable, clean, friendly and the location was good. The pet dogs that were in the hotel, clearly left alone in rooms to bark incessantly. One even began to urinate in the lift !!!. Breakfast was a bit of a disorganised free for all.
I found the room design very clever as it covered for quite small rooms. Very clean and excellent value for money. The car parking . separate charge is not so good.
Absolutely new so very clean and fresh aspect; easy access to wharf development area where there were several very good restaurants No explanation of how to get to the hotel from the south (mentioned this to reception); breakfast, though adequate, was unimaginative and very restricted
Great view of cathedral out of rooms 320-323, breakfast nice, cooked as you want it Evening meal (Fish and chips) too expensive for small portions (plus £2.50 delivery charge) had more bones in the fish than chips!! Filled in form but heard nothing
Great room, good price and friendly staff.
use of it in the bedrooms no
Location was excellent and the room was very comfortable. It was -7 in the evening so very welcoming to get in the room and heating was on and nice and cosy. Would definately recommend this hotel. The cooked breakfast was very small - no indication as to whether you could have an extra sausage or piece of bacon. Some of my group were disappointed in the small size of cooked breakfast. Seemed like you were only allowed one item of each sort only. Although the quality of the meat was excellent - great lincolnshire sausages!
Location, right in the heart of the old city. Work on updating the hotel was taking place while we were there, so facilities were limited.
The design and comfort of the room. The availability of the restaurant. There was a lot of noise from the street outside until about 4a.m.
I really enjoyed the location No thought given to vegetarians for the breakfast. Unable to get drinks in the evening as it was impossible to get past everyone to get to the bar
The Hotel is very well positioned. There is a lack of ambience - modernisation has taken away its historical character. The lack of a peaceful residents' lounge means there is nowhere to relax when there are wedding parties etc.
Excellent location of the hotel in Lincoln, England. Courtesy and friendliness of the staff. Excellent dinner at the Orangerie Restaurant, with superb asistance from the bar staff in selecting accompanying wine. The elevator was the tiniest one I've ever seen! And lined withe brown carpet! Might be time to expand and improve the elevator.
The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good. The location is brilliant. Well reccommended If I had to say anything it would be that there are no signs for this hotel it is not easy to find. But once you find it , its lovely
The ambience was impressive and the room was huge. Breakfast was also excellent. You could not beat the location and free parking. This was luxury facility with a modest price. I though the front desk staff were most college students who could use more training in hospitality management. But everything else was first rate so it''s easy to overlook this.
Gym and Spa facilities. Breakfast service and speed. Check in staff not engaged and poorly trained. Unimpressed by the canteen style carvery for evening dinner. As said by other reviewers the length my room was away from the bar, restaurant, leisure club.
Concierge was very helpful and obliging-facilities appeared to be excellent but we had no time on this visit to use them
Nice large room, decent beds. Room slightly tired in places.
Used the gym & the pool, also dined in the evening at the main resturant & bar. The resturant staff were very slow, we waited over half an hour for drinks and had to ask twice for them as the first waiter had forgotten.
nice pool/ gymn. very good supper. good, charming, helpful service. absolutely no noise insulation. was woken many times by people passing outside the door. heard every intimate detail of the man in the room above's night-time visit to the toilet. very poor night's sleep
relaxed atmosphere.luxurious surroundings.restaurant and bar staff extremely professional and helpful.nothing was too much trouble.
service was slow the rooms had not got any internal information in them. the bar prices were very high in the function room, lower in the main bar, why! and a £5.00 charge for room service at 19.00 was a bit steep as the kitchen was open. it was very comfortable
The leisure facilities, were very good. An excellent gym with machines and free weights, Squash ,Swimming etc. The restaurant served quality food, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The only minor point is it is a large hotel and it can be a hike to your room! But then the facilities are on a larger scale. So it's swings and round -a-bouts.
I thought our room was really lovely. The bed was huge and the bathroom was a very high standard. We had a very good night sleep indeed. The carvery lunch was below par, especially for the price of £22 per head.
The Staff were good, and the views and surrounding area very good indeed. Our double bed was very uncomfortable as the mattress needed being replaced as it had collapsed in the middle. That's very poor for a DE Vere hotel!
The pool and leisure facilities Our room was very near to the pool house and the pump room was rather noisy
The facilities were great and the staff welcoming. Room was clean and well cleaned. Breakfast buffet was outstanding - consistently good and well stocked, again with attentive staff.
The bedroom was great. The bed was huge and very comfy. The food was good, and the staff was very welcoming. The general atmosphere was very nice.
The staff were very friendly. And the facilities were very relaxing .
the draft drinks in the bar were awful. and there are no fridges in the
Very, very comfy beds and rooms. Reception and bar staff were very friendly. We didn't notice a lift!! No drinks in the rooms! We do like a night-cap.
It was in a location that was central for exploring that part of the U.K. Did not find the staff approachable or positive.
The king size bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were soft. Reception staff unwelcoming; pool/spa facilities cramped (web page has a misleading picture); breakfast was a shambles because staffing level inadequate for number of guests (no table ready, then chairs missing - had to rectify this ourselves. Self-serve food was old, cold and looked very unappetising. Restaurant manager over-ruled a waiter who wanted to provide us with fresh plates of food by insisting we use the awful self-serve bar)
Beautiful bed and great service. N/A
Welcoming and friendly staff. Swimming pool very nice (and warm)
Easy parking. The room was extrememly dusty, the waste bin had not been emptied from the previous guests. The expelair in the bathroom did not work. There were holes in the duvet cover. The room we booked was supposed to be 'Superior', but we were allocated a standard room. The cost on your site was the same for both types of room so we could do nothing about it. Also, the cleaner knocked to clean our room at 930am when we weren't mean to leave until midday!
the lady who greeted me; and the owner who allowed me to check-out late the lady who was working at breakfast on the last day of my stay. couldn't tell if she was painfully shy, or rude.
Very friendly and helpful proprietor (Martin). Very Clean rooms and excellent location for the City of Lincoln.
The fact that breakfast was available which-ever time suited one; also the lovely view from my room. No desk with light at which to sit and study/work
Good position near to Cathedral & Castle. View over city from bedroom window. Comfortable bed. Decent breakfast available. Smart bathroom. Difficult, narrow, steep access to property. Not at all obvious which house was The Poplars. We actually stayed at Crossways, the hallway landing etc needs a bit of tlc. Night storage heater in bedroom which was cold when we returned at about 5pm on Saturday. No one about to provide alternative form of heating. Hot water had gone cold both evenings. No hook, shelf or heat in bathroom
Location within the city. Of the road free parking. Unfinished misleading accommodation.
Nice room, lovely bathroom, thought gone into decor & guests requirements, excellent location & value for money. Access to hotel as the drive is steep & narrow, particularly difficult when icy & dark & there isn't much lighting. Parking not great as again steep & not much room. Cars get blocked in. Should perhaps think about turning some of the garden into parking space.
Attentiveness and friendliness of the staff Lack of parking spaces
I enjoyed breakfast, a good selection of hot and cold food self serve. Staff polite and helpful. There was nothing to dislike.
The hotel was very busy with weddings and christmas parties but the bedrooms were not affected with the noise. Extremely cold weekend and two of the three rooms booked were cold.
The hotel was very and the view was excellent
the location is excellent. breakfast was a tad dis-organised.
The location and the friendliness of staff.
We found the Cathedral Quarter where the hotel is located to be quiet and relaxing despite it being a busy weekend
on arrival I was told I did not have a reservation despite recieving a letter of confirmation
Sited perfectly for sightseeing in Lincoln.
Good breakfast. My bathroom shower knob kept falling off. Your high-speed internet was anything but high-speed. Not recommended for a business hotel, due to poor internet connection.
The location is ideal for a city break with all the major attractions within easy walking distance, overlooking the castle for instance. Dining room and car parking charge.
Fantastic suite - well decorated. We could adjust the heating as required. Two massive LCD tvs. Complimentary tea and coffee delivered from room service. Bathroom and shower were the best ever!
The room that we were allocated was really very nice, and the location is wonderful, you are in easy reach of some spectacular restaurants and some specialised shops. Unfortunatelly there was a wedding on a the hotel, which was not advertised on the web. It was explained to us by staff that we would not be disturbed in our room and that the music would stop at 11pm - It didn't and we were!!! At 11.30pm I called down to ask when the very very loud music would be finishing I was told that it would be turned down. It was but we could still sing along. I explained this to the receptionist in the morning who was not at all interested. We wanted a romantic night away and paid over £115 for this room, had we had wanted noise and disturbance we would have booked somewhere a lot cheaper.
the surroundings, position ambiance, wonderful bathroom only one chair for 2 bedrooms, lack of side table and lamp on one side of bed in one room
The hotel was beautiful and the staff were very friendly and professional. The shower was fabulous. We will definitely be visiting again. Our bed was very very hard and I found it quite uncomfortable, although when we spoke to the manager we were informed that they had a variety of different mattresses in the different rooms (to suit all tastes) We will just ask for a soft mattress next time we go.
An excellent quality hotel with very comfortable rooms and very helpful staff. Car parking could be difficult
Quality interior No coffee or tea in the room also noise from the bar area outside until 2a.m
The rooms were beautiful, especially with the view of the castle and cathedral! I would definately stay here again, its worth every penny!
Friendly atmosphere, comfortable room, a completely different and fantastic choice at breakfast
Monson suite great shower nice private romantic feel to rooms had a lovely time. restaurants nearby all good Bridge opposite best Indian food ever Cafe Zoot Bailgate area really good despite signs outside two good real ale pubs really close quiet attractive area in heart of ancient centre
Location, service, breakfast
the cleaness of the hotel and where it was in lincoln great location. none
Staff - very helpful and polite. Food - Very good quality and range Location - excellent with good scenic views front & rear None found.
the location was good being well placed for the city centre, ease of access from the main inbound route. Staff were smart and courteous at all times. Our stay was during a period of snow - the car park was frozen and dangerous to walk on - signs were put up to confirm this. The hotel should have arranged for salt/gritting to be applied particularly since parking is charged at £5 -
The closeness to the city centre, ease of staff Bit tatty, room had odour.
The position of the hotel is excellent
staff were efficient and friendly - all was clean - good location relative to Lincoln - good choice of Breakfast - hotel was noise free and the room not overheated I thought that as a resident the car parking would have been complimentry
being on the water front
We stayed as a goup of 17 women of varying ages and everyone stated how friendly and policte the staff were. Breakfast was lovely as well. Absolutely nothing to dislike. Meal on the Barge opposite was fantastic and great location.
It was close to the amenities. Poor facilities, decor needed greatly updating, bath and basin taps leaked all day and all night and everytime you went for a shower you couldnt get a constant temperature.
The customer service was excellent. It was obvious that the customer's needs were paramount in this guesthouse. The staff bent over backwards to look after us. Nothing. Couldn't fault it.
The landlay was fantastic, very friendly and helpful.
Very helpful and welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast. Clean and comfortable room.
friendliness of staff
Friendly staff, clean and nice room. Breakfast delicious. No hot water in evening though this may have been down to number of guests all going out to evening party
Manager Jackie was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Room was warm and comfortable, and we enjoyed using the cosy guest lounge where we could have coffee and read the papers (all free) in front of the fire. Location was quiet, but within easy walking distance of city centre
The comfort, cleanliness and warm welcome from the manager and the excellent breakfast. Free internet access was also an advantage. The website described the hotel as being near the railway station, but in fact it was more than 20 minutes walking distance.
The friendliness and attention of the House Keeper. Nothing was too much trouble. My room had wonderful views and the food was superb. Nothing
Fantastic room, great and friendly service and couldnt do enough for you. Really nice host - Jackie, great brekkie, very nice room, nice little touches and extras such as chocs in room, card to say thanks for the stay. Dont stay anywhere else,
the very warm welcome from jackie, also the small but very effective touches such as coffee/tea and biscuits available at all times in the lounge. Marvellous full english breakfast and anything else you requested at breakfast, nothing was too much trouble . the only thing was that it was quite noisy from the traffic on the main road but this would not deter me from staying here again.
The freindly staff and the pub nearby (The green man). No food available in the hotel on a Sunday night.
It was lovely and quiet, despite being quite busy the night that we stayed. The people were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. It was confusing as to which way to go in, doors were locked and it was unclear where we had to go.
Good service, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast!
Excellent rural location. The breakfasts were of a high quality both cooking and quality of food used None
The seclusion, peace and quiet. A very relaxing place to stay.
Friendly atmosphere, good breakfasts. Spotless rooms with sat Television. Quiet and unusual hotel Its a pity they do not serve food in the evening
Friendly staff, extremely helpful. Everything that we needed in the room Signposting could have been clearer to the hotel (minor criticism) Pillows were a bit hard
Comfortable room in a quiet location Staff were not very visible. Reception was usually unoccupied. Breakfast facilities left a lot to be desired.
Nice room, clean, fairly priced, good breakfast, personal touch. None
The seclusion Better if they could have an evening meal, not everybody wants to travel to get fed, plus you do need a car
Really enjoyed our stay, it was clean and comfortable. The cooked breakfast in the morning was gorgeous! Fully recommended.
the shower was unadjustable
Nice if you were staying a few days as there were a small fridge and a mirowave and plates and cuterley in the room so you donot have to eat out all the time
they had a fridge in each room, and a microwave! this is the first uk b and b where we have found a fridge. absolutely magnificant! we had the ground floor room which was great as we had heavy suitcases. the ensuite was huge, with a lovely shower. breakfast was good, and the staff were fantastic. nothing.
Excellent location; staff very welcoming and friendly. Room well equipped, including microwave and fridge, although we didn't use them as we were only there for one night. Pillows very uncomfortable!
clean and freindly
I stayed for a week and the staff did everything possible to make it a pleasant stay; extra tea, fresh milk. Room 1 was a very comfortable ensuite double room on the ground floor. I did not see the upstairs rooms. No negative comments
The Breakfast overcharged by £7
Excellent staff and warm, friendly welcome from Myrna. B&B's don't need to be luxurious but comfortable and welcoming. The Red House scored highly. Lovely back garden to enjoy if you have the time! No
The service was excellent, staff very helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
I got a good night's sleep As it was next to the metal staircase it was very noisy. I could also hear other guests talking on their mobiles in their rooms. Luckily everyone seemed to be in bed early so it did not disturb me during the night.
Made us feel welcome Being on the main road - noise of traffic
Very clean Had to come outside hotel and walk over the road to where breakfast was served
Friendly personal service, made to feel very welcome.
The staff were happy and friendly, the room was very bright and clean, and the bed was very comfortable.
Booked again on the strength of a previous stay and found it even better than last time.
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious!
The Breakfast was excellent, the room was warm/clean and comfortable We was made to feel welcome There was no where local to get food during the day, it was only available in the evening, also we could not get into our rooms until 3pm in the afternoon, and the Coach House was closed until then.
Room was comfortable, quiet and undisturbed by busy roads or other noise After leaving main road, I was not aware of any directions to access the hotel
Quality of room very good. Mix up about price. We were charged £45 per night on line but when we arrived rate had changed to £55. Not very helpful receptionist booking in but next day very helpful member of staff in bar / serving breakfast.
Having to clean the bath out before being able to use it. Lack of staff. Very noisy.
Conveniently situated, friendly staff Thought the room needed 'tarting' up
Pleasantly surprised. Although not as big, the rooms were as good as a Premier Inn and a half the price. Quiet and comfortable. Our daughter has just started a 3 year course at Lincoln Uni and we will definately be regular visitors over the coming years. Absolutely nothing. Would definately recommend
Everything about our stay was very good the hotel was very welcoming and friendly and a very good position for any direction of travel you wished to take
We liked the warmth of the welcome, the ease of booking in, the very adequate car parking, the size of the room and especially the bath. tHE breakfast was very good. wE would stay again. RHERE wasn't any thing we didn't like
Friedly staff, good food handy to our son's home. Would have liked more pillows.
Excellent and helpful staff. Well worth another visit soon. Ideal location for Lincoln or Newark.
Good staff Location
excellent staff and excellent food and service at restaurant cleanliness of room and massive bed
Convenient and booked a table in advance at the local resturant. The room was old and took some time to warm up. The interior was in need of a fresh look, but clean and comfortable.
good service and the attached resturant is brill
The restaurant was close by
loved the first night was faultless, food, reception staff, and restaurant staff were all perfect, even got a warm welcome from the cleaner. Restaurant service staff, and times were of a much lower standard than i would expext from Damons on the second night. Because of this i found the value for money to be very poor.
Very welcoming at reception and polite. Room was very nice and well equiped. I would stay here again. Non
Dated and scruffy rooms. No free internet connection.
Friendly welcome clean room good shower but decor dated and not really acceptable for the published prices. I booked online at a discount. I would not have stayed if I had booked at full price. Refurbishment is expected soon as the hotel has new owners The location is superb, good choice of restaurants right in the centre of the historic quarter. Some say something about atmosphere but it passed me by. Industrial vacuum cleaner and supplies piled in corridor
location and helpful staff/management tv could do with an upgrade ; not sure if there was a radio
The helpfulness and friendliness of all the staff.
Good service from staff, parking excellent. Room was very poorly decorated, shower was difficult to work and the walls were paper thin. We could hear everything next door were saying.
Olrasr write at least 15 words comfortable, friendly room adequate , good bed, very good breakfast, good parking Nothing to spoil my stay
