The Hotel was Dirty & the approach to the Hotel said so, the Hotel needs updating £150 is all that it takes to update the room and make them look presentable, the Hotel needs to get rid of all the stuffed animals and money needs spending on the decor
The room we had was spacious, the view was excellent. Lots of wardrobe space and plenty of hangers! Needed re-decorating and bathroom needed a definite upgrade.Nice to meet locals in the bar and the bar food was very good. The hotel generally looked 'tired' but as I understand, the current owners have only been in for a few months, so maybe this is understandable. Restaurant food not as nice as bar food, but was more expensive! All staff very pleasant, but some very young and inexperienced. Some 'in-house training' would be useful?
very clean godd food to remote
Peace & quiet! Food was excellent! The fact that pets are allowed in all rooms! (There were dog hairs in our carpet)
Lovely hotel good food nice staff and lovely open fire in bar.breakfast good and served early for us to leave for appointmentno Nothing not to like.
We were able to get a family room with separate bedrooms.
The food at this place is spectacular. When people find out about this hidden gem it will go nuts. Try the restaurant.
Very pleasant hotel in picturesque area . Good breakfast and bar food . Good size car park . Comfortable rooms and good guests lounge . Would recommend for walking or relaxation break Some of the decor slightly dated .
Very freindly staff Room in need of re-decoration, wallpaper peeling, spa bath in poor condition.
It was a lovely country hotel, not commercialised, lovely intimate bar area with open fire and lovely food.
Very Friendly, good size room, lots of towels. No hand soap in en-suite. Remote did not work on tv and volume button on tv broken. Although room with b&b on arrival at breakfast this was stated as continental breakfast only and full english was an extra £5. This was not made clear at booking.
Location, offsite parking Dirty breakfast dishes (spoons and knifes with some dried spoils of food), they have recently changed from full english to continental breakfast.
The hotel and its staff were very accomodating to us as a family...the attached wine bar is excellent.
Nice plce nice people and given two double beds in a pleasant and airy room...Good value and excellent brekky Access poor and not enough parking..arrived to find reception closed and went for a walk until she returned ..lunch ? no note etc ...no one their on checkout either so left keys by door !! securuty?
central location continental breakfast was very poor quality
Excellent customer care. Enviroment within hotel is very comfortable. Access to local amenities is ideal. Like the historical "feel" of the hotel. Have stayed several times and will continue to visit. Thank You. ! Carpets seem a little worn in stair areas. Difference in size from room 7 and 8 is surprising. Room 7 (for a Double room ) is small compared to 8, even though the price is the same.
Good location, amazing food and lovely wine. Very friendly staff who would stop and chat. No bad points!
From the time my wife and I arrived the staff were friendly and extremely helpfull. The room was clean and tidy and the quirky slanting floor gave it character. The complimentary glass of port was also a nice touch.
The location was perfect for us. The staff were great. They cattered for our coeliac diet. We had a great time.
Travelling for business I really appreciated the quirkiness of this hotel. Value for money was execellent. Room was huge and well equipped. Location excellent and car park useful, though I needed to do a 20 point turn to get in!Breakfast excellent staff friendly Feel awful saying this as everything else was so good, but could do with a deep clean. Took the shower head off and the holder was really dirty underneath. Quite a bit of dust and the carpet had seen better days. Didn't bother me, but others may
The breakfast was very good, the staff were very helpful. West Arms has a very friendly atmosphere.
Quiet friendly Hotel and staff with no mobile phone reception! The Chef is out of this world.
Friendly and warm staff especially at breakfast
The location is excellent; situated at the head of the Ceiriog Valley. we arrived very early but were made most welcome and shiown to our room desopite this. In fact, we recieved a room upgrade which was most apprecaited. The breakfast was of suoerb quality.
Food was good - but wait for dinner was far too long (over an hour). Location very pretty and remote The room rate was far too high - i would expect boutique type standards for £150 per room per night. No return planned!! Plastic dispensers for toiletries? Please!
Helpful staff and peaceful location None
Friendly atmosphere; Excellent food
Very plesent staff, very friendly N/A
The whole experience was fabulous from start to finish. Log fires, comfy armchairs, superb food and staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. I'd unreservedly stay there again anytime and recommend the Hotel warmly. A wonderful opportunity to escape the bustle and relax.
Warm, comfortable, atmosphere. Nothing
We stayed a couple of nights, arrived as strangers left as friends as we were made so welcome. It is an 18th Century Coaching Inn so it is not luxurious but everything we nedded was there. It is the village Pub and the locals are so friendly. We laughed the whole time we were there and nothing was too much trouble for our Hosts. Will definitely be going back. No
