The building has been beautifully adapted to operate as a first rate hotel. The setting in the middle of Ubeda, the quality of attention to detail and the staff care were all excellent. The cost of room service and food was not at a reasonable level.
The inner courtyard is wonderful, and dinner was excellent. It felt rather strange not really having a window, despite the novelty of our door opening onto the beautiful courtyard.
The hotel was in a great location and the center courtyard was lovely. The service was non existent. We had to haul our luggage across a cobbled courtyard then up some steep steps to enter the hotel. We asked for assistance and were told that they did not have the staff. Their were few people to serve drinks in the patio. If was easier to go downstairs to the bar and bring it back up yourself. The most egregious problem was with the room. The room did not have a window. Only a door to a inner courtyard that everyone going to their rooms could look into our room from. So we wanted to turn on our air conditioner. It did not do anything but make a sound... no air blew out of it. When we mentioned it when we checked out... the staff said they knew about this. We did not sleep in the hot room.
The Parador is an old manor home which has been renovated beautifully, but still retains the old charm. It is well located in the old section of Ubeda and has an excellent dining room. The rooms are large with roomy baths.
Dinner in the Restaurant was excellent. Mixed starter for 2 was huge and well worth the €20. could have done with a longer break before the main course arrived.Location perfect for sightseeing.
The restaurant had a great menu.
We loved the courtyard of the palace most of all. Extremely beautiful. Also, the bed was extremely comfortable and pleasant. THe bathroom was exceptional and all the amenties were availabel in the bathroom. The parking was very difficult and we had to park th car a very far distance from the hotel. There is no on-site parking.
Central position and historic atmosphere. Excellent restaurant Parking facilities
Location in the center of Ubeda old town. Very good restaurant. 1. In the morning the water the water was not hot enough for the shower, it was only slightly warm. 2. Unable to connect to the Wi-Fi Internet: it was password free but required some special set up and the stuff was unable to provide any additional information. Set up is not related to my computer - the day before I was able to connect to Wi-Fi Internet in Parador de Mojacar without any problem
We were very impressed with the building and its location to the historical areas of the town. The rooms were large and comfortable but still retained the old world feel.
A very comfortable room with a beautiful view. The bartender/waiter was extremely helpful and our breakfast was a real pleasure. Free Wifi internet was very convenient. We asked for a no smoking room but the room had ashtrays so we suspect it was not always no smoking. The pool was closed despite it being late June and tempretures being in the high 30's /low 40's.
The room was very spacious and the public areas very nice. Lots of locals use the hotel. Had tapas in the bar that were excellent. About 15 minute walk to historical area. Breakfast was good but a little pricey.
excellent breakfast/ good swimmingpool/ nice rooms whole night heavy noise because of wedding party in the garden/ elevator dit not work / limited openinghours of the swimmingpool/ late breakfastservice
It was excellent value for money. It is a long way out of the old town, but parking is easy. You will need to take a taxi, as its too far to walk, but it was cheap enough. Good breakfast. Public areas a bit smoky !
Wonderful hotel, elegant, clean, with all comforts. Incredible save of money booking with Booking.com! (I wouldn't have gone there if I had to pay the full price)
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Free parking was available on the street.Buffet breakfast was excellent. A la carte evening menu was excellent Maid service was spasmodic-mini-bar and coffee not replenished.
The restaurant was very good and at reasonable prices. The swiming pool was also very good even towels were supplied.... In general our stay was very confortable and very enjoyable. Only a bit too far from the center (not much, 15 minutes walking)
Nice and clean room with a basket of fruit was waiting for us.The pool is about 20 mt long !! very clean and not crowded ( in August). A small breakfast at the bar is offered as alternative to large buffet...great whenever you do not need plenty of food in the morning. Park convenience. Nothing to report.Everything was perfect!!
The rooms were very nice and comfortable. Easy to find. Parking underneath the hotel. The hotel restaurant. The evening meal was very poor. We had to return a starter. The main course was very bland and the vegetables were cold and frozen inside. We mentioned it to the waitress and she just shrugged her shoulders. Breakfast was a bit better but, not in our opinion the quality of a four star hotel and not worth 9 euros.
Good location, and great food, nice pool.ask for a room overlooking the pool.
Lovely building with comfortable clean bedrooms, quiet and peaceful yet very well-located. Generous breakfast.
Great location, clean and comfortable Breakfast was a big disappointment. Don't need a big deal -- just good bread and strong coffee (bread was lousy).
Excellent hotel right in the centre of a fantastic city. Reception staff were very helpful and the ambience and character of the hotel were great. Really felt like staying in a old palace but with modern facilities. No complaints
Friendly staff. Perfect location. Water temperature was very unstable
Very convenient location in the historic centre of a very pretty town. Bedroom was fine and breakfast OK.
Helpful and courteous staff and location in the old town. No
Ubeda was a place we wanted to return to - after several years, your hotel was our choice. We enjoyed our stay, the hotel was a good choice, and the location was excellent. Will definitely recommend to friends who consider the city for a visit. nothing was a problem. the front desk staff were pleasant, and very helpful
Closeness to the old city. Good price. Nice room. Free wifi didn't work in the room, but did work in the lobby. Required difficult reconfiguration of DNS to work. Restaurant not open except for breakfast.
Beautiful building and a great location. The town is lovely and the hotel is right in the middle of it. Booking.com directions were really useful. Air con didn't work that well.
Excellent location and friendly personnel No Inter in the rooms end though it was advertised in their web site. Also, the international in the reception was very weak and working intermittently The water in the shower was either too hot or too cold, I could never make it work properly
The location and the appearance of the hotel. The location was certainly very noisy on a Friday night - I don't know about other nights.
Beautiful building. Lack of food on the day we arrived Monday, we were not told it was a closing day in the hotel and in the town. I am diabetic and have to eat regularly. We were unable to find anything open.Breakfast offered is a bit basic but that may be the Spanish way.
Fantastic hotel, great value for money! If ever again in Ubeda, I would certainly go back.
The hotel was almost new, very clean and the staff very helpful. The hotel is a little difficuly to find, but this caused only a little problem No
Staff is extremely helpful and directs you around town really well. Great room with a great view.
The Zenit is an outstanding modern hotel in the middle of the old city center of Ubeda. We stayed in a suite that had a nice view of the pool and the city skyline. The building is very impressive and the rooms are well designed. There is an obvious attention to detail in the rooms. The pool area was nice and the courtyard with the old olive tree beautiful. The hotel was very accommodating of our young children. Finding the hotel was a bit of a difficult, perhaps in part due to street closures from the Renaissance festival. Parking is possible though challenging.
The hotel had style yet was in a very cultural town
It was in a lovely part of town, within walking distance of all interesting sights. The staff was friendly and accommodating
The hotel is attractive and the decor is still in as-new condition. It was very quiet and relaxing (as it was the off-season in Ubeda). Once you got to know the layout of the town it was very easy to get to the main historic sites. The minimalism of the rooms borders on the uncomfortable, even for fans of this style. People with small children would I think find the hotel unattractive. The only major inconveniences are the lack of a hotel car-park or nearby on-street parking, and the warren of narrow streets to be negotiated around the hotel.
Without doubt the best 3 star hotel I´ve stayed in while in Spain. The interior design is simple but highly effective, all the reception were extremely helpful and the level of cleanliness just perfect. This is a fairly new hotel (opened July 2008) and it deserves more publicity. During our stay the hotel was very quiet.
Location of hotel Parking is a bit of a problem and breakfast not up to standard
Very central for the tourist attractions, staff friendly and room very spacious and clean. The outdoor pool was a real bonus !
A central, attratctive and comfortable hotel, an ideal base for exploring Ubeda. Its best feature though is the delightful manager who takes the time to make sure you have everything you need, to recommend local restaurants and bars and to highlight the best sites. Excellent!
personal attention. trying to please in spite language barrier.
It is a very small hotel, and breakfast was especially prepared with a good choice and local dishes to sample. Very centrally located. The room was a bit small.
very nice historic building and room very difficult ot park the car. There is no breakfast available till 9.30. Maybe a little late for business man.
Hotel staff couldn't have been more welcoming and were very keen to inform us about the city, the best places to visit and show us the best routes, they advised us of really good restaurants.
We liked the ambiance, decor and also the luxurious bathroom. It was also a great location for seeing the old city. Although it is a converted medieval building and we expected and liked the dark ambiance, some people might find the windowless rooms (it had a sky-lite) claustrophobic.
beautiful room, comfortable
Everything, best hotel we have stayed in. No.
Small hotel in interesting old building a short walk from from the centre of town. Host was charming and personal touch made for a very pleasant overnight stay. Hotel is down a narrow 1 way street in a maze of roads. We initially parked nearby and walked to hotel using a satnav. Subsequently moved car to on steet parking about 50m from hotel.
The quality of this hotel is superb. The bedroom I stayed in was traditionally furnished to a high standard but the bathroom was modern & immaculate throughout. The proprietor is keen to ensure you enjoy your stay. Make sure you also book breakfast; you will not be disappointed. Parking near to the hotel is difficult; there are limited spaces in the surrounding area but parking is available further afield and do not let this deter you from booking.
Splendid themed rooms, friendly staff and central location
Very chic - a welcome surprise Friendly, helpful staff
Hotel comfortable and stylish; very well located to visit the historic town of Ubedes and others nearby. Variety of shops nearby ; also bars and resturants (but latter very quite out of season)
great accomodation. Lovely hotel. Very comfortable. Easy parking.
This hotel was fabulous. It is filled w/charm and comfort. The location is great. Everything was very clean. The beds/linens were the most comfortable during our entire trip in Spain. The lobby was very nice, with an adjoining library. The room was well sized and very nicely furnished. The bathroom was clean, modern and well sized, with a full sized tub/shower. The complimentary toiletries were extremely nice. Each room has a different theme. The high quality hand-picked furnishings and decor throughout the entire hotel makes it a very special place to stay.
This was a very pleasant hotel with very friendly staff.
I'd like the style of the hotel. The position was excellent. Parking was not very easy close to the hotel but you could find some space in a distance of 100 to 200 hundred meters. People of the hotel were very friendly and try to help us in everything. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Free WiFi Internet, People of the hotel should speak more English
This is a lovely small hotel in a perfect location to explore the old quarter of Ubeda. It is fairly new and is clearly well taken care of. My room was large and very attractively furnished, with a very modern bathroom and excellent shower. The bed was really comfortable. The room, as well as the rest of the hotel, was spotlessly clean. The attendants were helpful with taxis and directions.
The hotel is a charming palacio with wonderful though warn antiques in the common rooms. The staff is genteel and friendly. The location perfect for experiencing Ubeda. There is nothing to not like, but an elevator and more on-site parking may be expectations that will be disappointed. We seventy-somethings with minor disabilities did fine.
The flexibility, friendliness and warmth of the owners, the fact that we could have breakfast until 14:00 PM, the breakfast itself, the room, everything really, it was just perfect. A wonderful little retreat.
Small bed, breakfast was o.k. but not generous/quite basic, the same applies for the evening meals.
Cosy atmosphere, friendly owner and staff.
A great place to stay. Very good host, lovely quiet location, but within 10 minutes drive of Ubeda which is a fine old historic town. Had an evening meal at Tito's which was very good, breakfast was also good. Rooms are arranged around a small courtyard and would suit family if they wanted to let kids have their own room, but still have them very close. The pool was also very inviting. Nothing was too much trouble for Tito, but the staff were never intrusive.
Warmth of the welcome from Margarina and the service provided by Tito. This was like staying in a friendly family home. The breakfast was a bit different - very tasty and the evening meals a delight. We very much enjoyed our stay and were quite sad to leave. The approach road is dreadful.
The owners are very sweet, breakfast was delicious and the hotel itself is adorable with an open fire and a very cosy room.
My partner and I stayed end of March 2010 and were both highly pleased with the choice, the owners were both extremely curteous and prepared a sumptuous dinner at a moments notice. Recommended.
A good break from downtown hotels. Very quiet, great food, attentive service. Just ignore the road in, it's worth it.
Grea,Tito and his wife could not have been more accomodating. We found it to be a great little country inn.
Fantastic - Tito and Macarena were the most wonderful hosts. The food was excellent, and the location perfect for visiting the Jaen area. If you like to experience rural Spain then it doesn't get much better than this.
I had a double room for single occupancy and it was very spaceous and comfortable. Well situated near the historic centre of Ubeda. The staff were helpful Breakfast not included. No phone in the room. No English Language news channels available on tv.
Hotel was very nice and good value. Restaurant was very poor. Used restaurant for 50th birthday and two people ordered fillet steak, it was the worse steak that I have had in a long time. Puddings also dissapointing, of the 4 fresh puddings on offer 2 were not avaiable. I chose the Temporana fruit which I assumed to be fruit of the season, the witer lead me to believe this would be Melon, Orange, Strawberry etc, but when he came out of the kitchen all he had on a plate was a solitary apple on a plate. I sent it back and had a frozen ice cream. At least we saw the funny side of that but would not recommend the restaurant.
The food was poor.
Central location Difficult to locate in very narrow back street, the breakfast was poor
The location was excellent
Good location. Nice staff explained points of interest in town. Hotel a bit difficult to find by car due to many one-way streets.
it has its own underground car park, always useful in Ubeda. No greeting, no welcome pack, no loo rolls in the reception toilets, no spa although it is advertised as having one and they had us booked in the wrong day. It was a special trip for our daughter's engagement and very disappointing.
I liked the secure parking ( auto elevator to basement), the large size of the rooms, and the central location as well as a pool. The hotel is hard to navigate to through the narrow one way streets.
Nice small swimming pool. Spaceous rooms. In the center of the historical city. No one of the staff speaks english, only spanish.
The convenience of this hotel being in the centre of this picturesque city overshadowed the difficulty we experienced in finding it. A well maintained, comfortable hotel with larger than average rooms.
Nice rural hotel The beds were very small and room has not window. They did not accept credit card
The receptionist ,the palace, the location next to the church and the castle,10 min.by car to UBEDA,the tranquility of the village !
The Palacio is tucked between a church and a castillo is the precious little town of Sabiote, about 8 km. from Ubeda. The proprietor is warm and welcoming; he makes visitors feel like members of his family, all of whom help make visits delightful. Their restaurant is superb, and they certainly know their wines. We look forward to the time when the Palacio incorporates a WiFi system into its Internet connection.
I enjoyed being in a small town and being part of a fiesta being held at the time and seeing the whole town turn out on tractors! The hotel was pretty and had been well restored with many attractive features. I did not feel very welcome and although I had asked for private parking I was directed to park outside the hotel in the street. The proprietor did not speak English and my Spanish is not so good so there may have been a misunderstanding. I felt the write up in the booking was over egging the pudding as there seemed to be more facilities than I was aware of.
