Easy to find, friendly check in and food was good Bed was terrible, like a saucer.
Good hotel for a night stopover-ability to park and a good breakfast an advantage when travelling to the south west of france a nice town as well
Cosy hotel, friendly staff, good location, easy to find. Noisy, neighbors watched TV all night, and we heard everything. Difficult with English language for the staff.
The hotel provided basic and adequate facilities. The bathroom was clean with reliable hot water and not too small. The bed did squeak a bit! Plenty of people at the evening meal which for the price was good. The furniture is not too comfortable; a padded chair would have made an improvement and the outside woodwork needen some attention. Somewhere to hold the shower would have been useful and a shower curtain.
Proprietor cooked food excellent - buffet style starters and desserts with choice of served main course. Many local workers enjoying this €13.50 meal. Motel style lacking character and the town looking very run down.
Food superb Bed very uncomfortable,
do not stay, booked in another hotel accomadation was not to our liking, depressing room in need of renovation immediately which i think is in progress, not before time
Very comfortable motel style with parking outside your room in most cases, very convenient. Easy to find and nice standard given the price, better than we honestly expected.
Very friendly welcome and consideration at meal tiomes. Food excellent. Location in Sable fine too far from Le Man's (my error( Was there at the height of a heat wave. Should have booked somewhere with Air Con!
Very friendly and helpful staff, room was spotlessly clean every day and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was expensive at 9e, not great value for money. The hotel next door does breakfast for 6e.
Campaniles are usually a reliable and consistant standard, with the same themes and choices, but Sable sur Sarthe Vion provided not only that, but also a bit more. The staff were willing and polite, with genuine interest and smiles, and the buffets, which are one of the common themes of a Campanile, were more original and individual. We stayed here to be near the Le Mans 24 hour race, and it proved to be an excellent base. Campaniles provide a consistant standard that do not pretend to be anything more than a good value package for a reasonable room and a reasonable meal. This is one of those that can be trusted to provide that "simple" standard, but they do it well! So for some this would be a bit plain and ordinary!
A very good allround hotel, have stayed there before.
Good restaurant, good parking, good location, excellent security. Clean overall, but see below. Everything worked in the room, staff good. Ants in the room and centipeeds, room generally tired compared to others we used on this holiday. With a quick re-furb hotel would be good.
Clean basic facilities, good selection at breakfast Lack of crockery and cutlery at breakfast
Easy safe parking for bikes, clean, good food and pleasant staff.
Helpfulness of staff, cleanliness of hotel and rooms, food and varied choice of menu One of our party is a vegetarian and found it difficult with the menus offered.
We liked the quiet, the lovely gardens behind the hotel, and the fine restaurant. All of the staff were very helpful. We liked everything about the hotel and would stay there again.
We liked the charm of the old building and the care that was taken of the guests.
Very helpful reception staff. Well furnished bedroom with very good quality bedding and good bathroom facilities.
This is a real French hotel close to Le Mans and the motorway. We stayed for one night on the way home from a holiday in the South West and wished we could have stayed longer. The owner was charming and his english excellent. We arrived slightly later than planned but instantly were welcomed into a calming atmosphere even though the staff were serving dinner. We were not rushed into dinner in any way and were able to freshen up and have a walk around the well kept gardens before we ate. It is a gourmet restaurant - the food is high quality and therefore not cheap but there are set menus. The little extras i.e the canapes, the amuse bouches, the choice of bread, the petit fours all made the meal memorable.
We arrived on a cold spring evening after an outdoor activity. The entrance lane of the manor and the natural beauty landscape around the house surprised us, the rooms were warm and comfortable and the availibilty of a cosy saloon on the groundfloor with a grand piano ready for use gave us a very familylike feeling. Breakfast basic french, dinner in la Flece at 10 km distance.
Very friendly staff!! Good recommendation for a dinner! Nothing
The most beautiful setting for a relaxing stay. The hotel staff were so friendly and accomodating. Wish there was a restaurant at the hotel but there's a lovely little town locally and staff at the hotel can recommend some nice restaurants.
convenient for local area we came down to breakfast at 0915, choice was poor and water for tea was cold
The staff all talked very good english and they were all very helpful
garden I didn't feel 1yr old was welcome in the restaurant.
Room adequate and very clean with beautiful outlook across rural France. Dinner (nouvelle cuisine) very elaborate but not cheap! (Not out of the way either, though). Service was friendly.
The helpfulness of the staff Not applicable
this hotel is in a really sleepy part of france the small village is picture postcard a la carte menu does not suit all.
We only stayed one night because we were en route. However, we were completely amazed at how nice it was. Next year we will definately stay there longer.
Lovely spacious rooms with good views and swimming pool. Excellent food and breakfast. Nice to have free enclosed parking. Lovely hotel. Nothing to dislike!
The setting, the lovely gardens, the generous toiletries and cute little Jack! The bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned and smelled of urine.
friendly staff, secure parking, swimming pool. lovely setting, very quite village, u can only eat in the hotel or a small creperie down the road, other than that theres nothing there. If u only want it for a place to sleep then its perfect, we travelled to Le mans every day so was perfect for us. We would go back here again. booked a double bed got two singles, also led to believe tea/coffee facilities in the room and there isnt, these were a disappointment, but we delt with it, food although nice we felt over priced and not much of a choice. Breakfast doesnt start til 8, really we needed it by 7 as we were out early each day.
Beautiful setting and fairy tale chateau.
It was an experience for a lifetime. We have never tried anything similar. The hotel is a fairy tale - the managment is top professional. Outstanding.
The cuisine,location,hostesses and sheer uniqueness
This chateaux makes those dreams, of living in a castle, come true. The location is good, when you want to get away from it all. The staff and owners are great company and very helpful. The rooms are very well decorated and furnished. The gardens are wonderful to walk around in on a summer evening.
spacious, very clean, very nicely decorated rooms reflecting the authentic setting and highlighting the beauty of the castle, available parking, large garden one can sit in, or sunbathe, very quiet lack of meals (except breakfast) or the possibility of preparing at least a snack oneself; in fact, one can have dinner but only if ordered in advance, which is not convenient when one is on a holiday (one cannot always plan where one will be or the time when one will want to eat); it would be useful if there was at least a refrigerator in the room, so one could buy some food to eat (or juice or water to drink) when one wishes; also, it would be good if there was a kettle and a coffee machine, so one could have tea or coffee anytime during the day and not only for breakfast and not have to disturb the owner in her home to request a cup of coffee or tea.
Beautiful and quiet location. Price quoted when I booked was 40 euros per night, but upon checking-in this was hiked to 60 euros per night (because it was the weekend of the Le Mans 24 hours-which I was going to) The shower worked and had good hot water, but the clip to hold the shower head was broken, so it was showering one-handed, also the shower door opened inward and was spring loaded so made for difficult adjustment of the water temperature.
The hotel was clean and situated in a quiet area; the room was spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Not really a hotel, more like a large house with a few rooms for guests. Limited food for breakfast Additional charge on leaving with no real explanation
Clean and basic Very basic ,no bar, breakfast only
