Late check in; Surprisingly comfortable bed and free wi-fi. Black mould round the bath
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpfull. We have had dinners at a Campanile Hotel (not stayed at a Campanile before) in the past and the service and food was comparable with others. The general condition of the decor of the hotel, internal and external, was extremely dissapointing. The fabric has not been maintained to an acceptable standard. The whole hotel looked 'tired' and 'dated'.
location. Easy to find. Clean and good service
comfortable friendly staff welcome pets and assist the disabled very very satisfied with all aspects of the stay.
Accomodation met the usual adequate Campanile standard. You generally get a hastle free experience at Campanile hotels – which is why I choose them often when on the road. This generally includes the food where a decent meal at a reasonable price can usually be guaranteed. However on this occasion we had to wait nearly half an hour in the restaurant just to be spoken to and then it transpired that the usual daily special menu was not available and we were offered chicken and chips! There were two problems. That evening the hotel was grossly understaffed and the restaurant was reasonable busy (not full but the majority of tables were occupied). The one man on duty had to cope simultaneously with new guests checking into their rooms and taking orders in the restaurant. Something had to give!
Good location near to motorway links, and supermarkets. Good car parking and staff efficiency. The room was adequate and comfortable. Too near a noisy club/restaurant with loud music.
The very pretty view from the dining area. The convenience of its position.
A good place to stop off while travelling through France. Free Wi-Fi. Coffee and tea making facilities provided.
Restaurant facilities at the hotel. Convenient location.
Good rooms for the price. Can eat on site.
Clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. I didn't realise that there was no hotel bar where we could buy wine. However, that was more than compensated for by the recommended restaurant in the village.
I broke down and my bike had to be fixed. They organised everything. Brilliant. Vincent was excellent.
Helpful staff, willing to take time & explain things. Watching people exercise! wore me out just wayching :}
I thought the Hericlea Hotel Sport was in a prime position and I enjoyed the views across the valley. A lovely place to stay. Nothing.
The man running the place was very attentive and freindly. The views from our rooms were brill'. Breakfast was a little slow in materialising, but when it did it was very good and comprehensive. The rooms are a bit tired looking. Decor is basic, and badly finished. I was very comfortable in terms of room tempurature, and bed, but if you are put off by a bit of mildew on the bathroom tiles, or bent coat hangers, then it's probably not the place for you.
Warm and friendly welcome The peak season rate was too expensive
Enjoyed the swimming pool which was not really hot but so nice after 3h driving. Next morning we enjoyed the hamam after breakfast and the swimming pool was good too. Was a bit strange to see people on training machines in the reception of the hotel but the value for money was really good and we both enjoyed our stay there.
The staff were nice and the breakfast quite good Rooms were situted behind a gym & workout room. very noisy during aerobic session and more Motel than Hotel.
Good location Toilet seat wonky
the manager was helpful the room was next to a gym and there was no reception as such.we had to wait for the manager to arrive to check in.
Great view of the Millau Bridge (if you ask) Good location for shops, bars & cafes. Limited parking which was full on our visit, breakfast & evening meals expensive.
We went to Millau to see the viaduct and by chance our room had a balcony from which you could see it, albeit at a distance You are not made aware of the difficulty of parking, if you are driving. There was no room in their garage and we were very lucky to find a space in public car parks near by.
food mediocre. air conditioning in bedroom inadequate.
Convenient location. well presented and staffed.
Centre of town, excellent facilities,
Room was excellent, bed very comfortable and the view of the Millau bridge first class. The restaurant looked basic and more like a 'cafeteria'. Offputting. I did not eat there.
Our room on the 8th floor had a wonderful view of the old town & the Viaduc & Causse. It was very comfortable & the hotel is in a very good location with parking available.
The room was spacious. Staff friendly but unhelpful. The hotel seemed to turn down exhaust fan from bathroom resulting in back flow of sewerage smell. Quite disgusting.Carpets very dirty. Expensive parking and had to pay for internet when it was free for Ibis customers in the same building. We stayed at same rated Mercure in Albi and had a wonderful experience.
Position, quality of furnishings & tea making facilities ( could do with a more ) Breakfast was very good ... but expensive !!!! Wouldn't have it again. Restaurant closed early.... And it did lack atmosphere !!!!
hotel position, with great views and on edge of town, excellent . pool very clean
everything was okay
The hotel is in a good location for the Millau viaduct, which was the main reason for the trip. The swimming pool was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was also very good.
The distance to the Millau Viaduct. The on site restaurant was reasonably good.
Location & parking Uncomfortable bed and bathroom in need of a lot of TLC.
Convenient situation, close to city and main roads
Well placed within walking distance to the centre of Millau
Very good service, meals, and room.
nothing small room, too expensive
Room was nice and clean and comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good lots of variety and well worth the money. We went to a barbecue buffet meal with a group entertaining the visitors and locals alike on the Saturday night and it was really good. The music finished at a very good time although we could not hear it from our room. I would definitely stay again. We were travelling but next time I would like to look around Millau and the Tarn Gorges.
location, out of the busy areas. Links to restaurant. No english channels or opportunity to pay to view films etc.
It was handy asa resting place for the night It was basic
very good value for money. The final little touch would be coffee and tea in the room, otherwise first class
The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and the shower good. The staff were helpful. It was quite adequate for the price with a pleasant restaurant adjoining. The room was rather spartan.
Location and restaurant
Check in was easy no fuss English better than our French. Up the hill from the main town but we had a car so it was fine only problem was they advertised wi fi and wehad a itouch which was not compatible as they gave Mac only wi fi. Did not have the breakfast as we self catered with banana on a baguette plenty enough with good coffee from in town just be careful though as we got lost at night time coming back from the town to the hotel and there is another Detour hotel but older and near the bowling alley . would recommend to anyone
The attached restaurant. Difficult to find. Should have more directional signs.
Beautiful location close to the new Millau Viaduct (a marvel of modern engineering). New hotel with small pool beside a nice grill restaurant offering a varied menu. Very nice breakfast area. Chambermaids begin room cleaning at 7:00 am making an unacceptable level of noise (shifting furniture around). Chambermaid opened our room door without knocking.
viewed Millau viaduct
The staff were helpful and friendly, the hotel was comfortable and clean, and the best value for money in France.
A totally satisfying experience. One of the best I have experienced in my loig life of international travel (I am 82 years old).Far superior to the impersonality, and international "sameness" of most large, modern hotels. No.
This is a charming hotel in a lovely village and with much potential, but ... The madame director chose her priority over customer service, and consequently, over one hour after requesting that the pool cover be removed we left, disappointed and dry. On leaving the matter was brought to her attention; the reply was - I am human. With a shrug of the shoulders, the inference was - you are not so important.
This is a small, friendly family run hotel in a beautiful medieval village. In early July it was quiet and comfortable, and there is a very nice secluded garden and pool. The food is absolutely lovely - great regional dishes and meat and fish charcoal grilled in the restaurant - terrifically good value for really gorgeous meals. We would definitely go again, and highly recommend it.
The food is truly excellent. It's a lovely location in a beautiful out of the way town.
They were very welcoming even though we arrived at a late hour. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The hotel is in a beautiful location. Wish I had more time to explore the town and the area. This was just a stopover on my way to southern France.
Location and restaurant
The location and the food Mix up on when dinner was served - you had to ask
staff welcoming, friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast more varied than the normal french offerings. Evening meals delicious. Garden and pool well maintained. Location of St Rome de Tarn is excellent to visit Millau and surrounding areas. Town has many narrow winding streets to wander around. Tried to stay for an extra day. Fully booked - book early. Very large bed actually two single mattresses together on same frame. No tea/coffee facilities.
The tranquility of the location, the service, the food all was wonderful
Very pleasant staff, clean rooms and excellent food. Asked for twin bedded room and got a double bed.
Extremely good value for money in a clean and modern environment with friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend it as a base for anyone wanting to tour in the region. A pity that it is a little far (2-3kms) from the city centre restaurants.
we were just passing through and had chosen this route to see the Millau bridge and wanted a fairly cheap, clean and comfortable stop nearby for a few hours exploration, this hotel fitted the bill admirably on all counts. It is handy for the bridge and the lovely town, also easy to find. The price of the drinks in the bar was outrageous. We would definately use this hotel again, we were really pleased with it but we would not be bying any drinks there!
Location and conveniently placed on journey
Excellent value for money with perhaps the most comfortable beds I've slept in. Didn't bother with the breakfast following other people's comments but enjoyed a good meal in their restaurant. WiFi access was excellent. Poor selection of TV stations and the bathroom shower could have done with a screen to stop water flooding the entire floor.
As a cheap overnight stay, just to sleep, it was satisfactory Charge a little more for breakfast and improve the standard
Cleanliness, comfort A curtain or screen in the shower would be good.
It was well placed for the Gorge de T we would have used the bowling and snooker facillities.had been rainingarn and the bridge. If it Staff were very off hand
good food at reasonable cost on site .comfortable clean rooms. I would have preferred more choice at breakfast.
good food at reasonable price
the beds were the best ever
The restaurant Lack of outside space for hotel guests, not good for smokers
Situation suited our needs First room had a leaking basin drain. Restaurant was closed on Sunday.
Practical Only reacable bij freeway
price The food in the restaurant was very poor. Tinned potatoes and tinned beans!
All every thing was really nice.We have been using this family run accomodation to stay for 6yrs which was before the alterations which have improved the Hotel. Only one small point, we were told if we showed our breakfast vouchers as proof of stay over night we would get a reduction on our evening meal. The boy on the till did not do this so we just paid which was fairly reasonable. Not a too major mishap we will continue to use this hotel
Room was basic and a bit tired looking, but with nice crisp laundry and plenty of toiletries and towels. Excellent hot powerful shower. Lovely opening windows so much better to have fresh air than being forced to have air con! Location off the motorway very good, easy to find for over night stops etc. Very good self service cafe, inexpensive. Also restuarant attached to hotel. Bit of a musty carpet, unaired smell in the room but disappeared on opening windows. Our room was above the cafe terrace and was noisy on arrival, thankfully as it was cold night the diners went inside otherwise may have needed to ask for room change.
nothing!!!!!!.The room was dirty and smelled musty .There were no chairs to sit on.When we used the toilet some hours after we ocupied the room it was very soiled.not been cleaned since last user(to late to complain)The service and cafe area was very dirty..floors was filthy. everything .as i said it was the worst hotel i have stayed in.
The ease of access, due to Motorway location and the simple, yet comfortable rooms. Oh, and, the good value. No negative comments at all.
Lack of full bar facilities
An inexpensive hotel ideally situated for a night stopover on a long road trip through France and Spain. In my experience, the staff were unusually pleasant and helpful for France. One member of staff was very helpful indeed. All in all, a very pleasant stay. I will be staying there again for sure. After 10 hours driving it was impossible to get a beer until the restaurant opened at 7pm.
godd basic clean hotel value for money !!!
Good location, for travelling in the area. Nice size rooms. Free secure parking. No Air conditioning. It got really hot. Opening the windows helped a little bit, but let in all the street noise. Breakfast is basic bread/coffee.
Good location near to Millau centre (10 minutes walk). We were able to park our motorcycles fairly safely in car park which was locked at night.
Easy to find. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is in need of a major update. The bedrooms (room 40 in our case) need air conditioning as it was extremely hot, the bathrooms need major work try sitting on the toilet, our knees were touching the wall in front, the shower tray was very slow to drain.
The room and bathroom were very clean, the beds were very comfortable. The staff were very helpful. We arrived with an extra person and they gave us a family room at no extra cost.
Overnight stay travelling through so ideal for this purpose. Owner/proprietor most helpful re. finding somewhere to eat in the evening, things to do in the town etc. I imagine they will have accessibility problems for disabled in the future - 3 floors & no lift - didn't worry us but could see it could be a problem although they do have ground floor rooms
A budget hotel with very friendly staff. Within easy walking distance of the town centre.
A good, inexpensive stop-off point for visiting the Millau Viaduc and exploring Millau, the Tarn gorge and the surrounding countryside.
The fact that it was quite handy to walk into the town center, also it was handy to drive into the local countryside. We did not like the fact that there was no Air Conditioning in the bedrooms, the weather was too hot making sleeping uncomfortable.Carparking wasnt as good as we were led to believe
Reasonable location, helpful owner, convenient to supermarket and free on site parking.
We paid when we arrived for 3 days, then when we checked out we were asked to pay again for tax. We were never told we were going to have to pay extra, all payment should have been made at one time, either before or after the stay.
Fantastic location. Really comfortable. Good facilities in chalet. None
The chalet is great, the kitchen is really complete. The view is awsome and everything was really clean.
The position with beautiful views. Individual chalet rooms.
Location was first class. Restaurant was first class. As this was a chalet in October, we feel this was expensive, as we had stayed in 4 star hotels, for less money.
Charming French chateau with beautiful views of the Millau viaduct. Staff very helpful and restaurant served great food in atmospheric restaurant in the old guard room. As my partner is in a wheelchair a lovely breakfast was brought to us in our room Access into hotel a little awkward especially in the dark. Adapted bathroom in disabled room good except bar beside toilet at wrong angle for someone confined to a wheelchair.
The superior room with the added bonus of a view of Pont du Millau. Also the traditional room but with up to date facilities. It was also a very spacious room. The restaurant was expensive but very good. Car parking was good being within the grounds.
We liked the situation over looking the Bridge of Millau. The dinner and the breakfast were excellent and a great abiance They didn't speak English in the dining room
Great hotel, great location. Rooms were clean. Staff were very friendly and attentive. They went out of their way to ensure we were looked after. Dining experience in the restaurant is well worth it.
Very comfortable room, full of character, easy access to room from car parking via patio doors. The tiles on the bathroom floor are lethal when wet. Although the hotel is fantastic I would not say the same about it`s pretentious overpriced restaurant and it's unhelpful staff, which spoiled the stay for us.
A good location, out of the centre of town and overlooking the Millau viaduct. Old section of the hotel is very interesting and characterful. Very good value - fortunately the clock in the adjacent church did not chime at night. Soundproofing in the room was not great and lack of a shower curtain - minor quibbles for the cost. Main complaint was with the restaurant. Very nice atmosphere and excellent food let down by sloppy service: took one hour ten minutes to get our (cold) starter, one starter was wrong but I wasn't going to send it back after that time and, almost a first for France, I ordered a medium steak and it arrived very well done. Not what I expect of a reasonably expensive restaurant hence we only used it once.
Dinner was strange.
NOT A LOT Unfriendly staff and very pretentious attitude in restaurant.
comfortable accommodation, good breakfast. Easy access into Millau
The building was fantastic and the views over the town of Millau were excellent
room had air conditionung as it was hot when we stayed.staff were helpful
helpful staff at the reception being in the disabled room in the annex, there was quite a bit of noise from people parking late at night
Overall, a good standard for a budget hotel Breakfast arrangements were rather chaotic, especially the coffee service and the arrangements for bread.
Good breakfast and friendly receptionist. Ground floor room without safety mechanism on window so unable to have fresh-air during the night (ie if window left open, anyone could climb in). No facility to get a hot drink.
Clean room, polite staff, ease of use and the beautiful receptionist in one of the hotels! I would recommend the Deltour to other bikers. The fact there are two hotels confused me little. The WiFi didn't work because of the 'clouds' whatever that meant.
Driving tours in the area, visited the town of Millau, and photographed the Millau Viaduct. The Hotel staff was only spoken French. The internet did not work.
No wi fi access as mentioned at time of booking. Large cracks in bedroom walls. Carpet very dirty. Whole hotel very run down.
Staff Very noisey during the whole night
One of the worst hotels I have stayed in for a long time. Could only recomend it in an absolute emergency. Be careful there are two Deltour hotels the other one looks much better. Room was smelly and towels dirty. Very poor decor. Not a nice place.
Helpful receptionist; lots of information in the foyer; good shower; good parking. Further out of towm than expected
we chose the hotel because it was convenient for an overnite stop and we were delighted with our choice. We were made welcome and the patron was helpful in arranging a table in the excellent restaurant even though it was very busy. The service was attentive and the meal was lovely, the whole experience was beyond our expectations for a budget hotel. Recommended. Nothing I can remember.
Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant first rate and attentive service. A superb location if you want to visit the Millau viaduct information centre. Beautiful restoration of this old templar town.
It is a small, but a pleasant and very clean hotel. It has also a restaurant, which we haven't tried. We loved the location too; La Cavalerie is a very small Middle Age village on an arid plateau quite fascinating.I would recommend it. The buffet breakfast is ok, but quite basic.
The clerk didn't speak any English only French but we managed through gestures, the same when checking out. We've lived overseas for 5-6 years and can figure it out even if the staff doesn't speak our language.
It was useful to be so close to the motorway and the Millau Bridge. We had a meal in the restaurant which cost 83 euros, my steak was inedible and chewy and there was a hair in my sauce. I complained but was still made to pay for a meal I did not eat, disgusting, yuk!!!
Very basic, motel style hotel. Good central location with nice terrace and voews over the Tarn Gorge. Expect to pay for parking in the nearby public car park as there are no parking facilities on site. Toilet and shower facilites are communal. Breakfast was too expensive at 6Euros per person. Totally not worth it for a cup of coffee, small juice and 2 pieces of baguette. do not order this!
Great location, excellent value for money, good breakfast
Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Rooms clean and decent size. Breakfast good. Parking close to hotel was difficult.
A lot of noice during the night and at the morning, very noisy
1) Close to the center of Millau; 2) easy to reach from the highway; 3) value for money the beds, especially for the children the quality of the beds was very poor
Close to station & city centre but also beautiful countryside easily accessible.
Very central for Millau town and a good base for seeing the bridge and countryside around Millau. No
The position of the hotel was good We were made to feel as if we were imposing rather than our presence valued. The person who checked us in was very friendly and helpful, but either later that evening, or the next day when a different person was at the desk the response to requests was not as helpful and positive.
Lovely open spaces, centrally situated, convenient to all the shops. Keen prices. Lack of air conditioning. I would recommend only if people were on a tight budget and weren't due to stay during the very hot summer months.
The hotel was very central to Millau and therefore an excellent base It was very basic and quite dark inside, the facilties were along the corridor so take a dressing gown if you are staying there. It is basic and cheap so if you want central/cheap and cheerful its for you
Hotel full of character with friendly and helpful staff. Convenient for exploring old town and countryside and viaduct beyond. No parking except, maybe, in the road at night.
Easy to find, very nice people who wanted to help and were very helpful, central location to view the Millau viaduct and the central masif which was simply stunning. no
not a lot .the hotel needs to be completely modernised. facilities and decor is pre 1960`s. yes see notes above.
Very quaint in caricature good basic rooms for overnite stay if going to see viaduct dining room stunning and breakfast good continental typical French style Room was rather stuffy and toilet had a bit of a smell
Very little This hotel needs refurbishment
Great location in centre of town, friendly very helpful staff
Very pleasant welcome, and help Room very small and basic
The lady at reception was helpful regarding what to do in town. Our room was described as a superior double room but was in fact a motel-style cabin in the interior courtyard, with a door but no window, leading to ventilation problems.
This is a family run hotel and the owners were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel has historic connections and offers a nice change from the usual chain hotels. It is also just a short walk from the centre of Millau. The bedrooms are just a little basic but this is just a minor quibble, it's all part of the experience.
A sweet, characterful (although not cheap) french provincial hotel. Suited our needs for a family room, in a fab location.
Food in restaurant was good Quite a long way off the autoroute. Not particulary clean
Good location; easy to find. Staff very welcoming. Excellent restaurant, but a bit pricey. The bedroom was disappointing; just a shower 'cabin'; not a proper bathroom.
