Ultra modern funky room with space age feel. Very convenient for overnight stop over while travelling. No air conditioning and no kettle to make a cup of tea
budget price Poor maintenance of rooms, bathroom door broken, no soap in shower dispenser, window blind broken, generally a bit scruffy (but cheap rates)
Breakfast was good and a perfect location for a number of eateries
- Furniture in rooms is old, carpets need to be replaced. Rooms were hot, with open windows you keep hearing trains.
Could not find the hotel. The map which we printed off this site was very poor. We rang to ask directions but the stated they did not speak english but when we got there the english was very good but then he prentended he did not understand us again when we stated we rang for directions. The breakfast was poor for over €5. We also had a 18 month old with us and his bed was a bunk which was not really suitable.
It has a very idealistic location, close to Macdonals,Careffour super market and a Tank station... It is very good as a stop point for a trip to the south of france or Spain.
Quality/Price ok. Nice view from the rooms and breakfast area. very helpfull personal, on our departure, they recomand us to visit Cluny, which was a very good choice, to get the fealing of old time France. Thank you.
The location. The air conditioning system was completely insufficient and even setting the system at 15 degrees we were unable to cool the room down. This was very disappointing considering how much we paid to stay at the hotel
It is very difficult to write 15 wards about things I liked about this hotel. I think it is possible, that is the worst value for money hotel that I have stayed in. Where do I start? Steep steps up to reception - very friendly. Room uncomfortably hot, bath-room grubby. Hot food at breakfast, finished at 9.45am, when breakfast finished at 10.30. Toilets for general use, by the reception, were disgusting at10.00am and when I reported it to the receptionest was told they were clean at 8.00am. I also noticed the disabled toilet is down a steep flight of stairs. I did ask to speak to the manager and was told - He was on holiday!!
restuarant was closed - it would have been nice to know that in advance
The receptionist was very welcoming; we liked the decor and the atmosphere and we enjoyed the breakfast. It was easy to find the hotel and the surroundings were very pleasant.
Staff were very friendly, especially the restaurant waitress. Our room was very warm when we arrived. Outside temp was close to 30C, room not much different. Someone from reception came up to take a look at the air con, said to turn it right down (to 15C). This we did but no joy. Complained next day again, was promised an air con engineer would come up to room. No sign of said person. Another uncomfortable night, and when complained once more, was told that we could have been offered another room if we had complained at time of checking in! Were offered a 10% discount for one night only as compensation.
The reception clerk was particularly helpful and drew us a map of the restaurant we wished to go to.The situation of the hotel near the River Saone was excellent. The area was quiet at night and we felt safe walking back to the hotel at night. Macon is a clean city with beautiful flowers and a "romantic garden" walk near the river.
Secure car park and friendly staff
Design of the rooms, location, personal note
Fantastic, friendly owners/staff
Excellent staff who were very helpful. Good location on the river and close to the city centre. Rooms well decorated, cleand and with a spacious bathroom.
We enjoyed a brief, but excellent stay. The owners could not have been more welcoming.
Lovely hotel in a nice situation. Superb rooms and facilities.
Room, service and breakfast excellent, as always. I have been wondering for years now why the food in all the Novotel restaurants (called Coté Jardin) is so bad and overpriced. Could the Novotel management please decide to turn all the Cotés Jardin into nice brasseries with good food at an affordable price? The faithful Novotel customers would thank you from the bottom of their hearts!
Ease of access from Motorway. Poor quality of food, i.e. overcooked and cold. General service in restaurant I would consider poor.
this was an average hotel but the location was good for us as it was right off the highway. the service at the restaurant was very slow and the food was not very good. The beds were not very comfortable.
Very professional staff. Excellent restaurant
coffee making facitilties; gated parking very poor and overpriced breakfast
it was noisy in the night, the food was a bit dry and cold
Well-equipped, helpful staff, easy to find, convenient. Room in good order. Nice breakfast. Why do you require a minimum number of words?
Very convenient for the trip to Italy. Just of the motorway but no road noise at all. The last time I stayed at this hotel was some 12 - 15 years ago. It still looks and feels the same as it did then with little or no updates. On my return to the uk we stayed at Reims Novotel. A much nicer and more modern hotel and room. Again I had stayed there before , however this hotel has moved with the times and has adjusted to the modern needs.
A convenient hotel, (stopover on journey to Provence). We like Novotel for it's consistent quality & comfort etc. The cuisine! Nothing changes really! Poor choice, expensive & could be better.
Good location, good food in restuarant, clean, spacious rooms (in annexe). Friendly staff.
a bit noisy on road-side room
Perfect position. Welcoming staff. Garage close by. Good breakfast.
Excellent location, friendly helpful staff, good parking, lovely traditional hotel.
convenient stopover location pleasantly situated near river no air conditioning and rather drab decor
Clean, comfortable, exellent service and location, good food. no
A traditional hotel in a lovely town in the heart of Burgundy. Great service, excellent food, and comfortable rooms.
Slightly old fashioned decor but good restaurant and comfortable
It was reasonably priced and conveniently placed. It was adequate for a one-night stop over. the rrom was clean, if a little basic. The staff were cheerful and helpful We stayed in the Annexe and it was a little dark and one of the outer doors didn't lock. We could secure the room only by using shutters
Clean and well positioned Didn't expect to be in an annex - should have been told the room was not in the main hotel at time of booking
The room, large and comfortable, with a nice bathroom, good beds and very quiet during the night. The dinner at the bistrot was not fully satisfactory. The breakfast was too expensive.
Comfortable room, and quiet. Very pretty town. Impersonal staff - and a 20 Euro charge for the dog
Lovely hotel suited in gorgeous old french town in the champagne area, warm and welcoming, lovely open courtyard restaurant with cover in evening, really sweet, good food, very enjoyable stay Toilet light is on timer, which goes out too soon
We enjoyed our stay in double room.Very modern and confortable rooms: right size, advanced bathroom, safe deposit in the room, air condition, magnetis card keys. The one of few hotels in Burgundy which offers free WiFi. Polite receptionists (instructed us to visit right place in Beaujolais village Julienas). Buffet breakfast for 16 Eur seems too expensive. Choice of food and volume is less than in other hotels for the same or less price. All the rest in hotel is just excellent.
The staff were very courteous and helpful if a little serious. The room was excellent for our needs; 2 adults, 2 children, 1 infant. Very well equipped comfortable and clean. The location was also very good, just off the motorway but on the edge of a quaint little town (Tournus) The dish we ordered was one of the worst the worst things I have ever tasted (andouillettes). Both me and my wife are both fairly accommodating and adventurous when it comes to dining but we both took one mouthful and sent both meals back (the first time we have ever done this)To be fair the hotel didn't charge us and replaced the meal with a second dish which was fine.
Easy to find from the autoroute I would not recommend it as a 4 star hotel. If you really want a bourgogne hotel, I would look fo r something else.
Mme Marion was a pleasure in arranging local wine tastinfs and providing input into activities. The restaurant is a must!
I felt welcomed at check in, the room was well appointed and new. One of the best rooms that I found in my 3 week trip to France. The food in the hotel restaurant was expensive; although it was delicious and well prepared.
Very well positioned to explore beautiful Tournus with its Abbey, good shops and many restaurants Overpriced for what they offer. Breakfast is extra, parking is extra unless you leave your car on the street. Our room was in an annexe which did feel rather second best and reaching it was a trek - up in one lift, down a corridor and down in another lift. The food in the bistro was very average
good room, quit, well maintained , spacious and clean The bistro food was ok, but nevertheless expensive for the offering.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Too expensive. There qre cheqper otels in Tournus which you did not tell us qbout.
Very comfortable room, with shower including body jets and hammam feature Rather difficult after an excellent dinner, to be asked to place your order for breakfast next morning. Breakfast at 26 euro, far too expensive
We just had a quick overnight stay but we had a lovely night. Excellent breakfast. Room were comfortable with lots of very nice little touches - sweets, mustard and overy toiletries in the bathroom.
Very friendley staff There is no inside connection between the hotel and restaurant.
Location is excellent. Superb restaurant. No drawer space.
The friendly reception,,lovely room with nice touches like chocs and pots of local mustard, excellent presentation when we asked for afternoon tea and also for breakfast. The hotel restaurant is indeed special. Hotel is easy to find and so convenient for the autoroute
It was clean, service efficient, the hotel is convenient with a large off-road car park and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was an odd shape with no views.
The staff was generous and cooperative. They offered the use of their computer when I needed to send an important email. They were helpful and friendly.
The constant warmth of the place and the nice location
Elegant "ambiance", kind and efficient service at the reception, good cooperation with the restaurant, quiet surrounding. All good qualities you expect from a French hotel. We missed the sign for the hotel on the Route National 6, but this might be our mistake.
Friendly welcome from owner. Clean & comfortable.
The hosts were very welcoming and charming. The room was basic, but comfortable and very quiet. The setting was peaceful and very pleasant. Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The setting is beautiful, the location quiet and the hotel is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Very good value for money. I am planning to use it gain in the future which is always a reliable recommendation.
Very nice owner. Great service and relax atmosphere
The reception people
Very welcoming and helpful hosts, a most beautiful location, excellent breakfast. Nice clean functional family room. The lack of a wall fixing for the shower head.
comfort of rooms and the lovely surroundings.
Very welcoming hostess and pleasant relaxed atmosphere. No
A nice picturesque hotel, close to the motorway but far enough to be very quiet. We used it for an overnight stop traveling to the south of France. Pleasant reception, the owner was very friendly. We stayed with two young children (0 and 2), the room was big and comfortable enough for the four of us. The breakfast was not so good, little choice and no fresh croissants!
First of all the staff and the services.
We were made most welcome by everyone. The room was nice and roomy and very warm and comfortable. The food and the service from the M'd was really excellent. We will definitely return there soon.
We were in this area for business, and took a pot-luck stab at this hotel, we were not dissapointed at. I would with out doubt return to this lovely hotel, but this time with my wife! no
Beautifully situated in rolling hills of vineyards, the outlook is superb. Nice pool in garden. Decor was tired, wallpaper threatening to peel off, paintwork in need of renewal. The restaurant was ambitous but failed to deliver against a pricey menu with flavour combinations which just did not work. With a price for continental breakfast of €18, the hotel was trying (unsuccessfully) to deliver a package of luxury but instead must be classed as pretentious!
Excellent location. Great view. There is also a superb restaurant with very friendly service. Need to reserve before arrival. The pillows are not very comfortable.
We thought the location was splendid and the room with a view was first class. Breakfast was fine. The bar staff were non existant. Being old fashioned we thought the dinner was very disappointing.
location Didn't take Amex cards
We have had a beautifull time at the hotel. The room was good, the staf was very gentil and we will certainly recommend this hotel to our friends. We were looking for something in the neighbourhood of Taizé, and this was a good place. Ehhhh.... no.
Nice environment - excellent food - great views - it lived up to our expectations Room was crampt for 3 people
Helpful staff, excellent breakfast and comfortable room
Friendly, accomodating staff. Location ideal for 'mid France' stop over, good places to eat nearby but not ideal for a look around the City. Pool was nice and very welcome after a long day in the car.
Breakfast was excellent and the pool was a big hit. Staff were very helpful. Location good for onward travel. The rooms were small but we were hardly in them, so wasn't a problem.
Simple hotel on the entry of the city, far from the city centre. Simple rooms with basic furnishing, all clean. Very good and rich buffet breakfast.Dinner is offered in the hotel restaurant (daily menu). Suitable for the stopover in the area.
Private parking - Buffets Very small rooms and very small beds
It was everything I expected for and was lloking for
Attitude of mmanager and reception. Very pleasant
The best Macon hotel is ok for a stop over if travelling across france, rooms ok but bathroom could be cleaner. Has lcd tv with dvd ideal when travelling with kids. Breakfast very plesent. we arrived at 13.00 hrs but nobody at check in till 16.00hrs not good when you have tired hungry kids.
the hotel is far from the town center; room and toilet are small
Good location, helpful staff, nice buffet style meals Small room, dark furiture, bright yellow bathroom.
Cuisine first rate. No bar.
The hotel is loceted in beautiful surraundings.Hotel from outside is nice as well. Hotel needs a litle bit of renovation.
Very helpful owner/manager. The hotel had a feel of a dilapilated place - rather gloomy.
Very clean and comfortable. Great service and food. Quiet and pretty but also convenient for travel. Good value. Beakfast should be optional not included. It was good but we felt we had to eat it and skip lunch which made it a long day before dinner.
the food was good and the breakfast was abundant Staff unprepared (were not able to properly serve dinner) and disorganized (they have begun to clean the room before we checked out). The swimming pool was dirty. The dinner was very expensive.
Friendly staff in good location. We enjoyed our meal in the garden with quality wines available by the glass - although we had to try bottles !! The property is hard to find - Sat. Nav. DOES NOT pick up this hotel for some reason ?
the food and size of the rooms noisy air conditioning and not adequate
ambiance and good menu have stayed before on journey from spain and hope to do so again
Friendly staff, nice clean hotel in a french Chateaux, very good food. Over all a very nice stop over on our drive through of France. The only negative must be given from the pool, which still wasn't available due to the floods in the area three weeks earlier.
nice setting, swinning pool, very good menu for lunch/dinner When checking out, hotel personnel started discussing the original price booked
Hotel clean excellent selection of breakfast - tea and coffee facilities in rooms No bad points really
The hotel was easy to find and included free parking. The staff were very friendly and tried there best to speak English. The location was quiet. You have to hold the shower because there was no where to clip it on the wall. The pillows were a bit small.
We arrived at the hotel at 4.30p.m. on Sunday afternoon and it was closed. A note on the door said to enter our booking confirmation number. This was not acknowledged. We then had to ring an emergency number and 10 minutes later someone arrived but the hotel booking no. was not compatible with the booking com no. We paid for the room and breakfast via a machine and a key dropped down with a room number on it. Although the bed was clean the room was tired and toit was 38degrees we had to open the window and the room was filled with small flies because there were horses in the field to the rear. We discovered that the restaurant was closed and there was nowhere in the vicinity to get a meal because it was an industrial area. The above says it all. We went for breakfast the following morning and left without even seeing a receptionist. Needless to say we will not be returning.
enough parking places in front of the hotel; very friendly staff that speaks very good English; recommended only for passing. room and bathroom very small; much too small double bed; not a single German television channel; no toilet broom; the maintenance of the breakfast buffet were very sloppy, the price is too expensive.
Free wifi Bathroom dirty Restaurant closed
It had beds to fall asleep on and a shower sort of, so we were just about able to get clean and have a sleep. The hotel was absolutely filthy, the room was inhabited by half the local spider population, which obviously didn't bother housekeeping in the slightest, the maid decided to come into the room one morning, she didn't even bother to knock first! Just opened the door and started coming in till she realised we was in there still. The shower only had a holder at bath level, really handy that, least it hooked in the towel holder.
Food reasonable but not spectacular; room cheap; one member of staff very helpful Room very basic; one member of staff not very helpful
It was good to reach it after a long journey and it is pleasantly situated with open country view to the rear. The dining facilities are basic but acceptable. Not really. Maybe a wee bit impersonal appart from the reception.
We arrived for dinner at the same time as a coach load of visitors but we were still attended to quickly and efficiently.
One of the easier Campaniles to find. Just off the motorway junction.
Close to large city and motorway Staff was reading newspapers in the kitchen instead of attending the reception on Sunday morning.
The hotel was obviously in the process of upgrading the bedrooms but still maintained a high standard of service.
quietness, proximity to the motorway
Staff were super and very helpful.
ease of booking in friendly staff
Friendly helpful staff, restaurant convenient and good Room was smokey
It was very relaxing. Our bathroom had a sewer smell that got worse every day.
The hotel is quaint. The food was excellent.
Quaint and different but very warm and pleasant staff. Rather unusual
Nothing!!! One room could not be locked at all, and in the same room the bathroom window had to stay open all night because of a missing lock. Bathroom not sufficient. No heating. The other room had a broken glass door. Highly overpriced. Rather poor breakfast.
A well-run small hotel with plenty of character, close to but not in the centre of town. The breakfasts were a little sparce, and we were a little disappointed to be served stale bread on a Monday morning.
The rooms have a lot of caracter. The room was extremely cold - stay not recommendable during winter.
Bed not comfortable
Olde world and extremely antiquated The food was average
Very helpful staff and a magnificent room with a great view in a unique setting.
The dining experience out shone the sleeping one. The room was rustic, with flimsy door locking padlock. The rooms are located in what looks like an old stable and the windows are full length, requiring the curtains continually closed whilist in residence. There was no hot water in the morning!!!
Smelt of gravy. food in restaurant was inedible and expensive
good size room, good breakfast
environment audibility, necessity of elementary small repair.
Nice clean room, good bed, pleasant breakfast. Indoor parking, by the hotel staff. Unfriendly welcome by indifferent hotelmanager, in contrast to good service by other personnel. Heavy traffic noise (cars and trains) throughout the night. It was impossible to keep the window open, which made sleeping difficult, because the room was very warm. The stair- carpet was totally worn out, which makes using the stairs very dangerous.
Hotel staff/ services/ breakfast and dinner
I missed a restaurant
The relax atmosphere, nice environment in the wine yards and the festivity of two musicians on Friday evening No
It was very peaceful and quiet. Exactly what we wanted after 4 days in Paris. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the wine on offer. The apartments are very modern and the beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in. We spent 4 days there but could have stayed considerably longer.
A very peaceful stay and very comfortable beds. Studio well designed. Breakfast delivered to our door was a treat! Shame there is no restaurant.
Incredible castle located in the heart of Burgundy. Historical monument where modernism perfectly harmonize with the ancient. Apartment was like the work of art, very large and comfortable. Stuff - open and helpful. Golf club reachable in just 5 minutes. The price is more than adequate, because for us, it was more than just a hotel, the spirit lives there. Thank you for making our holidays more special as well as this beautiful region . PS. The castle vine is perfect :)
