Pros: The room was clean and perfectly functional with a fantastic lake view. We stayed demi pension and the evening set meal was really good. It was beautifully presented, tasted good, and the four courses were all included for 22 euros a head. Wine was available by the glass at 3.5euros per glass. All in all excellent value.
Cons: The receptionist couldn't find our booking because she couldn't work the computer! We had to wait for 10 minutes not knowing if we would have a room or not. When a computer literate person arrived we were given a room straight away. We had to wait a long time for service at dinner. When we checked out we were asked to pay more than the amount we had agreed through booking. When the booking confirmation was shown (again) the original price was honoured.
Pros: A lovely hotel on the outskirts of a village, we had a balcony room overlooking a beautiful lake, breakfasts were good continental type with plenty to choose from. Dinners were excellent, the set menu of 4 courses was so good we decided to eat in every evening. Rooms were basic but very comfortable and clean. The Dinosaur museum in Condat is well worth a visit.
Pros: Bed was clean and comfortable. The view over the trout lake was beautiful. The breakfast was very good.
Cons: Room was on the second floor, no lift. Room was very small, very basic with no attempt to make it welcoming. Old picture hooks left in the wall and a wadrobe that had seen better days. Bathroom, clean however shower gel was rationed, the mixer tap in the shower was broken making it very dangerous. Handle on the inside of shower was missing. Daily cleaning did not include emptering the bathroom bin or cleaning under the bed.
Pros: Great food good bed
Pros: Nice hotel in a lovely location, rooms are quite basic but very clean, ours had a balcony overlooking the lake which was superb. The resturant was very good and reasonably priced, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. It is well located to explore the area.
Cons: The bill at check out was incorrect, but this was rectified promptly.
Pros: Good location, great food and wine, friendly staff
Cons: Gravel carpark was a challenge on a fully loaded motorcycle !!
Pros: The whole hotel was quite charming, Breakfast was very tasty, Croissants were good, Coffee was good. We had a great meal the night before. The view of the lake is worth the stay in itself. We were helped with our luggage to our room.
Cons: The bed could have been a little wider, The Wi-Fi was not good- The password was over long and when connected was not worth the trouble. I suppose internet is a bit rubbish in such a remote location and I reverted to using my mobile's data.
Pros: Good restaurant at the hotel. I had a room with a covered patio facing the lake. The view was lovely and the cover kept the room shaded from the afternoon sun and kept protected from the rain shower that passed through at night.
Pros: Location is beautiful, food is excellent and staff is welcoming.
Cons: Not many power outlets which can be troublesome if you have a lot of equipment to charge up.

Pros: The staff were the best anywhere and very very helpful but at check-in especially and also at check out. They should be commended!!
Cons: No taxis and very few restaurants around or open during our visit; none of which was the hotel's fault!!
Pros: Easy parking and a good welcome. The public areas and the bedroom were very clean and bright. Breakfast at 7 euros was good value and of a pleasant standard. Situation good for visiting the area of Monts de Cantal etc.
Cons: Limited storage space for a stay of more than one night, though the wardrobe was a generous size. Only one chair in the room. We had a happy stay of six nights, but finding somewhere to eat up in the town - after 19.30 - could be problematic. Really only two establishments. For variety in eating, you might need to drive out of town .
