9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice breakfast in a very stylish and dinstigushed breakfast room. Fresh fruits, delicious coffee, salmon and sweety things were great. All living rooms were installed in a very nice and selected style with personal atmosphere and working installations. The pool was nice, too. We enjoyed thenice room on groundfloor in a side building with direct access to the garden and a local spot, where we could take a small drink or quick lunch. We also could rent two city-bikes to make a short ride near by. The near-by city road was no problem during the night, and about 100mtr away from the room.
Cons: I would appreciate a small refrigerator in the room, especially during a warm summer for a fresh white wine or a beer However we could use a common fridge near the pool ;-)

Pros: Hospitality was first class, and room was stunning
Cons: Nothing

Le Coeur des Vignes - Pauillac - Bedroom
2
9.7 Excellent (273 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Pauillac, Le Coeur des Vignes is in a rural location, within a 15-minute walk of Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal and Chateau Latour. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, coffee/tea in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great location in Pauillac. The hosts are wonderful people who are always willing to help. We ate all meals here and they were very high quality. The host facilitated a wonderful wine tasting experience.
Cons: Nothing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We arrived on a Saturday so there wasn’t much going on in the area, which we did not expect. Luckily we decided to get the dinner that was offered to us by Pascale. Even though the email had not gone through with our reservation for the meal, Pascale still cooked for us which turned out to be an excellent meal. The room was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay very much. The location, when the Châteaux’s are open, is excellent. It’s within short walking distance to two very nice ones.
Cons: Nothing as far as the property goes, just know about the Châteaux’s hours before booking your trip unless you’re going to be there for more than one day like we only were.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place in the middle of wine yards. I recommend to have dinner in Le Coeur des Vignes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pascale is a lovely person who helps in every way she can. We felt very comfortable at her place. Dinner was lovely. I would recommend that you have at least one dinner there.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very helpful and friendly. They took extra care to help us plan our dinner and lunch reservations. Also, Pascale made a delicious breakfast for us. Although the weather turned hot this week, the cool pool was so enjoyable in the afternoons and evenings. Also, you are right next door to Pichon-Baron which is one of the best wineries in the Medoc. Treat yourself to a tour a visit there when staying at this B&B.
Cons: Air conditioning would have been helpful in the hot July heat, but the room actually wasn't terribly uncomfortable with the fans in the room and with the shades shut during the day to keep the heat out.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good room, clean and arranged with taste and love.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pascale and Alex our hosts had a full house but went out of their way to respond to all of our various demands. Rooms well appointed and tastefully decorated. Everything fresh and clean, lovely location în the vineyards facing a small château. Pretty garden with grand old trees and a vegetable patch. Pascale is a talented cook and served us a home-made three course dinner worthy of any good restaurant. Slept like a baby, only to be awakened by birdsong. Excellent breakfast buffet featuring rosewater rice pudding with rose petals and pistachios. We felt spoilt and privileged. Was on a short business trip but would love to come back for a more leisurely stay. Highly recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our garden room with the loft. My son loved sleeping up there in the loft. We enjoyed the pool and the breakfast was wonderful. Our host was so sweet and made a reservation for us at a vineyard on short notice. She also had good recommendations on where to go for dinner.
Cons: Nothing!

Maison de Jean - Saint-Androny - Building

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good quality accommodation and facilities run by v friendly and helpful owners.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place just won booking.com ... Spotless perfection. You even get a free bottle of wine from their vineyard and the next day you can visit their vineyard shop if you want to stock up. The wine is awesome especially the saivignon. The pool is great and the rooms and just amazing. YOU HAVE TO STAY HERE !
Cons: That I couldn't stay longer
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere in the chateau was tranquil and relaxing.....just what we wanted. The fact that the vineyard is across the road was a welcome bonus. The owner was very welcoming and even coped admirably with my schoolboy French. A wonderful place to rest and tour from.
Cons: It was rather difficult to find, given that it is a little off the main roads, but once found, I have to say, that added to the “local” feel of being deep amongst the wine making countryside.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about this bed and breakfast - it had everything you needed for an enjoyable stay. The hosts were very accommodating and with the inclusion of breakfast every morning - what more could you ask for. Exceeded our expectations!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was not a hotel or cozy B&B, it was like a “at home” like we were the part of Jean family spending summer vacation with relatives in a big house full of LOVE and HAPPINESS of previous and current generations!) You’re lucky if you’re on this page considering where to stay in Grand Bordeaux, Maison de Jean is fantastic place which bring you unique experience!! Talking on booking.com language the Maison de Jean has only advantages: HOST: charming Caroline who warm welcomes us and stayed with us in connection anytime LOCATION: Château is in calm and peaceful place. Vineyards are in one-minute walk, flowers and birds are everywhere)) ROOMS: adorable design, full of light, beds are extremely comfortable, sheets and towels are cloudly soft, no sign of previous guests. The cleanest room in the whole France! BREAKFAST: thanks to thoughtful Sabrine every morning we had very delicious breakfast with super fresh and local products. Thanks a lot for Caroline and her family for this lovely and sweet weekend
Cons: N/a
5.5 Okay
Pros: Lovely property in a quiet location set amongst vineyards and adjacent to a lake. Convenient for parking at the property Swimming pool Modern and large bathrooms, and comfortable beds. Clean. Tasty continental breakfast is provided The property is a convenient base for day trips to places like Bordeaux city, St Emelion, Margaux and the coastal beaches around Royan It's only a 5 minute drive into the lovely town of Blaye, with its nice restaurants and its prominent Citadel.
Cons: When you arrive at the property you'll more than likely find that there's no-one to greet you and to check you in. If you look carefully enough you'll eventually find a note on one of the doors that advises you to telephone the owner if no-one is present. However that's when you'll find that you can't get any mobile phone reception to be able to complete the call. So the second part of the note on the door says that you can go across the road to the winery to get someone from there to check you in. The phone reception however becomes usable when you get to your room up on the first floor. There is poor Wi-Fi reception in your room as the router is located downstairs and there are no repeaters throughout the property. It's also difficult to get the connection password as it's not listed on any material in the rooms, and as there's no-one around during the day you may have to wait till the next day at breakfast to get the authorisation. There was no cooling fan in the room, contrary to the booking agreement. When asked if a fan could be provided as it was very hot at night, and since it was listed as being one of the room amenities on the contract, we were simply told that there were only 3 fans available at the property and as there are 5 rooms then we couldn't have one. So if it's summer and you need your windows open at night due to the high temperatures in the room, you have to note also that there are no insect screens on the windows in your room. Consequently there will be large numbers of mosquitoes and other insects coming into your room at this time of year. So you'll probably be sweating, and also getting attacked by mosquitoes.... not the best conditions for a good night's sleep. The owner, contrary to what a some people have said, is pleasant most of the time but was quite rude to myself on one occasion. It could have been more noticeable to us due to the fact that we stayed there for 10 days.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very friendly and welcoming ,the house is beautifully furnished The breakfast is good with fresh bread , fruit ,cereal and yogurts. , The room was very comfortable with a modern en suite. BIKES FREE.

7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely host ( she really cant do enough for you) and outstanding Breakfast. Handy location for local area, though a little difficult to find in the dark.
Cons: At 70 euros we thought this was over priced, having stayed at an apartment not that far away for considerably less the previous night. Our opinion is that there could be better deals to be had locally. We're with 'Jean from Senegal' ( see previous comment on this site) re the decor; it is 'odd' rather than stylish or even quirky. The bathroom set up is also rather unsettling, with a glass section ( albeit it not entirely clear, but not frosted) in the dividing wall with the bedroom, allowing anyone in the bedroom to see any toileting by a partner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room and shower. Great breakfast.
Cons: Had to drive to restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Estelle a fantastic hostess. location glorious, lovely premises. everything you could want in facilities (even a pool (pop-up) in garden not mentioned in spec. nothing too much trouble, she's really lovely. you might want a car, everyone else had one, but we were being transported by family so no problem for us (we knew in advance and used taxi when we preferred)
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, clean and functional with a warm welcome. Hosts have taken every care to provide all that guests require including air conditioning which was much appreciated during a heatwave. Large period home set in landscapes garden in the country. Perfect mix of being tended to and given privacy. No question I would stay there again!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property . Very comfortable room
Cons: On booking.com site the hotel price was advertised as including breakfast (why we chose it ) . At the point of booking it disappeared as an option . Antionette who was very helpful then rang me to tell me if we wanted breakfast it would be 12 euros per person . She explained we would be the only guests and the hotel was almost closed for the season . So for us there were two issues - related to booking.com not the owner . It was disappointing as the hotel & breakfast had good reviews .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous old world surrounds, a lovely breakfast buffet as well as a charming and helpful hostess in Antoinette. Our kids of 6 & 8 were delighted to be able to cool off in the outdoor pool and the groundsmen seemed to enjoy seeing young kids getting value from the place.

Pros: The location is beautiful - very quiet tucked around behind the road-front buildings, you would think you were in the middle of nowhere.
Cons: The only negative I would mention is that there is no air conditioning, not a problem as you can open the windows, however to sleep the windows are either wide open or shut tight - creepy when you are on the ground floor in a strange place. Some simple window locks so that you can open the windows without being insecure would make it more comfortable.

Pros: The (Comfort Double) room was reasonable size and a small area to sit outside. Bed was comfortable, with good pillows & sheets. Restaurant food was good but limited menu never changed.
Cons: Breakfast was below average - mediocre bread. Paulliac has few restaurants and all seemed to be very similar so we ate at hotel every night which due to unchanging menu was not very good after 2nd/3rd evening. Staff could have been more cheerful & friendly.

Pros: The hotel is in an old, stylish building. The rooms are very simple, bathroom large, but with a tub, but it had Grohe armatures at the showers. Good restaurants and the hotel manager speaks very good english and is charming. The hotel has a small bar.
Cons: Even if the hotel is lying at the waterfront, Gironde is a grey fjord/river not pleasant for those who are used to the ocean. The beds could be better.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The management were lovely and allowed us to upgrade our room . The Manageress was great at sorting out problems and difficulties with keys .
Cons: Parking is remote and unsupervised in a public car park . They need to be clearer the difference from standard rooms which are not modern or nice and comfort rooms which are of a modern standard
4.3 Okay
Cons: The room had the smell of not being aired . All badly in need of updating. Too many steps and in strange locations. Dinner very expensive and poor quality. Breakfast poor.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location right on the river. Public parking was very close and there were always spaces. The room was clean. The balcony was very nice with great views.
Cons: There was not any shampoo in the dispenser by the shower. The room decor although clean felt dated. On our second breakfast, because the hotel was very quiet, the breakfast was not laid out for us but we had to ask for each item which was then slowly given to us. It felt like an imposition to have breakfast!
10.0 Excellent
