Efficient, friendly, helpful Should have twin beds available
The hotel was clean with good facilities, x-box 360 in reception and a PC. We would stay there again. Thanks Novotel...
We have come to rely on Novotel for our stopover breaks and they offer a good service and accommodation at a fair price Finding this particular hotel was a nightmare and more should be done to give all bookings, a detailed map as to how to get there. Even our satnav could not find it. The evening food was poor. Better, fresher ingreients; less oil for cooking would improve the food. It felt pre- prepared and something simpler and fresher, would have been preferable. The breakfast was large in quantity but the components were not good. Freshly cooked eggs instead of what looked like a scrambled egg mix, it was also lukewarm. Perhaps some fresh sliced tomatoes etc. Too much tired looking stuff for what is an expensive tarrif for breakfast. You could do much better than this.
Facilities in the room Nothing
Well designed rooms with a good layout. We had no complaints about the accommodation
friendly staff and efficient service a fitness suite would have been good
Easy to find, on route to the holiday
excellent in every way very difficult to find needs clearer directions
comfort and food
Conveniently placed for Autoroute A26, restaurant open until 10.30 pm, quiet and comfortable, staff efficient and spoke very good English, everything worked. We will be staying there again on our journeys through France to the south coast. No
Friendly welcoming helpful staff, good location and parking, lovely breakfast. Tired air-con system.
The excellent location in the hart of the city center. Public parking is near the hotel, there is the direct accesses from the parking to the hotel reception. The standard room is small but pleasant.
The hotel is very well placed in the centre of Troyes, making it easy to walk out straight into the centre for coffee and meals. It is a comfortable and welcoming hotel, and is an ideal stop for us on our way back to Switzerland from Calais. The shower screen leaked water everywhere !
Very comfortable, very convenient hotel. Charming owner operators steered us to the best restaurants and the highlights of the wine region. Our kids loved the dog and the rabbit.
Exepreince of a Medieval Town
Location of car parking, friendlness of staff/owners A bit expensive, no restaurant
I have stayed here several times and will continue to do so, the staff are wonderful, the location perfect for Troyes' old town and the accommodation very comfortable. An enjoyable stay each time.
Perfect location, very stylish, small hotel with very friendly and helpful staff.
the size of the room and the staff no coffee making facilities in the rooms
fantastic place to stay -building amazing, staff so friendly and helpful. on site car parking if you have resevred a place. rooms so individual will go back.
stunning hotel. beautiful building and extremely comfortable room
Beautiful setting in quiet location within easy reach of all interesting locations.Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room with all necessary amenities.Restaurant closed Sunday evening so we could not try.Overall expensive but worth it.
The hotel is a converted old building, wonderfully done and our loft room was just lovely. The location is great, very close to the cathedral and little more than 5 minutes walk to the centre. The staff were all friendly and helpful, with maps and restaurant suggestions readily provided. There was a cosy little lounge for drinks and the garden was picturesque. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the restaurant but the menu sounded very tasty! We didn't go for the breakfast as 17 euros seemed a touch expensive, however there are some fantastic bakeries very close by.
The general ambience was delightful, the room magnificent and the location terrific. We would definitely consider booking here again. Unfortunately the hotel's restaurant was closed but we hadn't been informed in advance - however they recommended an excellent local restaurant and booked a table for su which proved a great success.
NIce building, recently renovated Currently there is a lot of noise due to construction sites in the vincinity. Compared to other 4*-Hotels in the city the price was to high
the medieval building was exceptional and well preserved lovely garden nice atmosphere 100% france
Beautiful building, filled with character, in a superb location Breakfast is very expensive!
Staff very helpful and polite.Building stunning and renovation first class
A very luxurious hotel with unobtrusive but efficient & friendly/helpful staff. Ambient restaurant.
The friendly and helpful staff
Great location. High standard of equipment, furnishing and decor of rooms. Good furnishing and working order of equipment, cleanliness and provision of consumables in bathroom. Secure parking. Good breakfast. Private Parking is not adjacent to hotel, difficult to get to with one way streets and confusion with public parking.
Helpful, friendly staff. Comfort and convenience for city centre.
breakfast - a good stop between Switzerland and home - a lovely City no
All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
In the centre of the city with nearby parking
The servoce, location, and huge room.
The comfort and cleanliness of the room It is a pity that they do not do evening meals in the hotel, however we found that we could get to the best restaurants in Bayeux by just walking, so that was not too bad
Good central location, reception staff excellent, very comfortable room, great for stop over enroute to UK.
The staff were lovely. The breakfast was good, if expensive. The location is ideal, right in the old city. The hotel was decorated in the 1980s and has not been redone - but they keep it very clean. It doesn't cost much so it is acceptable. Try and get a room on the top floor with the vaulted ceilings and huge bathtub. So much nicer.
Easy location for a stopover. Parking. Several restaurants and even a cinema around th hotel. Rooms are due for renovations. A lot of them are very stuffy and don't smell fresh. We have stayed several times in this hotel out of convenience of location.
the aircondition is not working when outside 40 degrees Celsiusץ
The fact that it was genuinely wheelchair accessible, incl a large bathroom. Well done Mercure! The toilet was too close to the side wall, making access difficult for right handed carers to clean a disabled person sitting on the toilet. Drop-down side bars on either side of the toilet would be useful and safer.
Large airy room with separate bathroom & toilet - always a good feature when sharing a room. Staff very pleasant & helpful & took pity on my poor attempts at French. Good buffet breakfast available for reasonable additional payment, as was secure parking. None detected
Although no restaurant the steak house next door is good and plenty of places to eat within 5-10 mins walk. Breakfast was quite expensive.
Complimentary use of internet. Friendly, helpful staff. Convenient car park. Spacious room. Easy access to city.
I normally stay closer to the centre of Troyes but this hotel is quite close. Staff very friendly and helpful. No in-house restaurants but quite a few within short walking distance.
Very impressed with the staff on reception, most helpful and charming. Lovely, clean, large room, with the added luxury of a neat balcony from which we sat with a glass of wine to watch the 14th July fireworks, an unexpected treat on the way back from the Alps! No it was wonderful, although breakfast included in the price is always a bonus.
Clean, comfortable room with morning tea facilities. Good breakfast and generally relaxed atmosphere.
The hotel was very stylish and comfortable the shower screen was useless and we flooded the floor, as did our friends in the next room, you should fit shower curtains!
Luxury, tranquility and central location (within walking distance to centre of town) and fact that they maintain good standards in their hotels - Troyes was not different form rest. It gives one peace of mind to book at an Accor hotel knowing the service and quality will be good Yes the fact that English is not spoken by most staff and that advice required eg on toursim recommemndations to scenic places, etc could not be given due to lack of English proficiency by staff members - waiters in breakfast room could also not understand English and most TV programs were in French
The location was very central, and I felt that the area was very safe.
Location is convenient. Shower is broken.
Very comfortable hotel, with easy access / location, in an excellent position to visit the medieval town centre.
just an overnight stop in a long trip I found the bathroom a bit too poor.
The hotel was convieniently located and good value. It was comfortable for a short stay. Room and bathroom were both large and clean. a cot was provided foc for the baby and was already setup up in the room before our arrival. Parking was not a problem for us it was right opposite the hotel and was free after 6pm and on sunday. Some of the decor was a little dated and worn
Polite service, comfortable room and a reasonable price. Soundproofing could be better.
Easy to find being near the station which is signposted throughout the city. Good price and lovely large bathroom. Friendly service and free wi-fi. Near town centre and easy to find overnight and weekend parking.
The woman at reception was friendly. The location was an easy walk to the historic center of town. It is a budget accomodation and fine for the price. We don't believe the room or bath had been vacuumed before we arrived as evidenced by hairs on bathroom floor etc..
its location is ideal for the Old Town. Duty staff were very helpfull The Hotel shows obvious signs of wear and could do with new carpets here and there and a splash of paint. But for a one or two night stay it is fine. Maybe a little over priced with the above in mind
Location was very good for both station and town centre. The woman on reception was friendly and pleasant. The road outside was noisy and I had to have the window open because of the heat.
Excellent location within walking distance of cathedral and centre of town. Beatifully restored building. Nothing
This is a very quaint and charming hotel wit a bilingual staff eager to please. I would highly recommend it.
Clean efficient close to motorway simple - fabulous art gallery opposite, nice walk to river
Very friendly and helpful staff and good central location.
The location was good just a short walk into the centre. The pillow was useless and there were no spares
Comfortable bed, good location, secure parking Appeared to have been badly painted during the 70's and not touched since, ingrained dirt esp in bathroom, Tv had one channel only that worked, shower didn't work properly, en suite was a cupboard.
Good 2-Star value. Clean and comfortable. Near centre Bedroom wall a bit thin. Luckily neighbours switched off same time as us.
Clean, quite, close to all city landmarks. Very confortable from this point of view.
Staff excellent and friendly..good secure parking. Bathrooms rather small, and a slightly musty smell...as if we were the first guests of the season...but very clean and warm.
It was near enough to the town centre and restaurants to walk. Also there is secure parking with electronic security gate, but you do need to book as space is limited The room was very basic but comfortable. The showerwas really small. it is under new management so the new proprietors may do some upgrading.
Secure parking. Friendliness and helpfulness of staff (one gentleman that we saw - Very small hotel) Room a bit tired and basic.
garage facility. colour scheme in room horrific. tiny television too high on wall and leading to torticolis.l bathroom extremely small. wonder how they got the 2 stars rating.
clean, comfortable and value for money
Cleanliness of room and travel cot ready with bedding The room was very sparce, pillows were lumpy, tv was tiny for the size of the room, one tiny bin in the bathroom, no instructions on how to use the heating or window blinds. The air con allows them to have no radiators but there was nowhere to hang your towels. Our shower attachment had broken so we had to have a bath in the morning.
Secure parking garage for guests. Friendly staff. Close to motorway. The location and overall appearance isn't great. I suited us for one overnight stay on our way to Switzerland. I wouldn't recommend the hotel for a longer stay unless you have to be in the area.
Location one could call it is vintage, I would say it is terriblle, but since I paid 50 for night it is my problem
Close to city center
The hotel is beautiful, quaint and unlike any other hotel. We love that it is family run and not a chain. The breakfast is excellent, the staff were very kind and willing to help. The room was kept very clean and the linens smelled wonderful. The location is perfect with shops, restaurants, the city center and free parking all within blocks. We loved every minute. The beds are a bit small for my 6 foot 5 inch husband and mattress is very firm but fairly comfortable.
Excellent location for touring the old part of Troyes. Basic but clean, excellent value and friendly staff. Free and easy to access parking in large municipal lot. Good idea to find out where the lot is before you arrive in case you can't find parking right near the hotel for check-in and/or arrive before check in.
Big room for France. Good Breakfast.
Very clean and nicely decorated. Very central. When booked we asked for a cot but not provided. On arrival we asked for an extra bed (instead of the cot) but was told no as the receptionist was on their own.
Room decor No high setting for shower
It was fairly central and provided adequate rooms and breakfasts. The lack of parking facilities next to the hotel, and the lack of a loungue or bar in which to relax after walking round the city, before retiring to one's room.A lift would have been a great boon, particularly if one's room was on the 2nd floor!
This Hotel is basic but is clean and in a great location in a very unique city.Great value for money.
Cheap, clean. Access to some rooms is difficult because it included passing outside the building. However the room was ok, and clean.
No Tea or coffee making facilities in the room
Good location Rooms very small and although we booked a non smoking room the room smelt of smoke. I mentioned this to the receptionist and she told me that there was nothing she could do as the hotel was full!!
The location was good. Parking oposite the hotel. The staff were helpful and excellent. Bathroom and linen were clean. The carpets in the room on 4th floor were not clean although everything else was and rooms a little smaller than was desireable.
Nothing exceptional We found the overnight stay very expensive and did not give value for money , taking full account of the pound/euro exchange rate. The quality of the accommodation and meals was not of a standard we would expect from a simlar category hotel in th UK. We have travelled very extensively in France for over 30 years and note a sharp decline in quality and value for money in recent years.
Reception staff at the hotel were excellent. After a day travelling, the choices for the evening meal were very good. Breakfast was expensive.
It was good value for money. Opposite was a restaurant which had a varied menu. Breakfast was basic but plenty to choose from. The hotel needed decorating which seems to be taking place. The shower cubicle was incredibly small.
The refurbished room - but why not refurbish the adjacent shower room as well? Friendly staff and good value breakfast and dinner. We were not aware that the hotel was being refurbished when we made the booking - certainly the exterior was way below the standard I would expect. There was no secure parking. There was no working extractor fan in the shower room - so that room and our room resembled a sauna. The shower could have been much cleaner. No mirror in the main room.
Room smelt smoky
specially the staff they where all underfull and nice, the beakfast as very good and fresh, the schedule ok
Room smelled of smoke, even though it was supposed to be non-smoking.
The Hotel represents good value. Inadequate lighting al;ong corridor areas made for difficult if not dangerous access to rooms. Several of the corridor light switches did not work at all.
The helpfulness and friendliness of the staff
Staff were helpful Hotel was being decorated, so doors were off and floor was uneven. looked very shabby. the resturant was not in use.
comfortable beds Rooms were very warm and need re decoration
Very clean and comfortable.
Pleasant Hotel for overnight stay. Within reasonable walking distance of delightful town centre and good range of restaurants.
Large room (we were in 3-bed rooms); breakfast was OK. No elevator (but there are some rooms at ground floor). Apple juice distributor was empty and they had no more in stock.
The Owner moved his car so we could park motorcycle undercover. Secure parking for motorcycle. Cleanliness of Hotel and room, good shower. Taxi to centre of town cost 6 euro's! No
Central to town centre. Easy to find.
Very helpful staff and an easy bus into the town centre. Breakfast was a bit thin and the man upstairs was very heavy and noisy.
The hotel was very comfortable and clean lack of resterent
Fair hotel for the price The small size of the shower area
The location with secure parking was an attraction. They were kind to accept a dog. The room with shower en suite was very comfortable. The recommended local restaurant Le Sarrail just up the road (5 mins walk)in La Chapelle St-Luc was good. The shower was not very clean.
The manager/owner was very friendly. Our (too) late arrival was no problem. Rooms aren't well shielded against noise from other rooms.
Very friendly proprietor and wife. Room clean and compact but very fair for price. Stayed en route from South of France to Calais. Neither kettle nor tea and coffee in bedroom
Plenty of free parking and easy to find Receptionist very unhelpful. Wanted some hot water for Lemsip in Evening and morning, but told hot water was not available
Clean and spacious rooms, friendly staff
Cleanlines Parking Restaurant Having to pay on arrival
Its close proximity to Troyes historic centre,(3 Km). Read the hotel small print!!! They do not open until1830 hrs on sundays and bank holidays.i arrived in a storm on bank holiday at 1445hrs to find doors locked.ileft message on answerphone to say I had gone elsewhere and was charged full rate!. (Bookings .Com should really advise of these abnormal conditions where they occur)
Just a overnight stay which the hotel was adequate. On arrival, after a long journey the hotel could not supply us with a simple coffee.
It was the off season but everything was adequate.
Very friendly manageress.Next to restaurant.
Very welcoming, clean, bike/car parking off road, value for money good location for main routes and easy to find.
Nothing really, as there was no comforts. The nearby town is beautiful though. Arrived at the hotel at 15.00hrs and a note on the door stating you can check in at 18.30hrs, so went to the town centre which was beautiful. Came back and the gardner was there, but still no owners. Finally another guest rang the owners and the doors were opened. Went to room and as my husband suffers from severe sinitus, we went to put the air con on, it was disabled, went down to reception and was told that it is cold and they do not use the air con, it was 25degrees outside!! With the language barrier we accepted this and opened the window instead. My husband chose this hotel as it specifically stated it had air con. Through the night I could hear the air con in the other rooms running, the fact is ours was broke Not enough towels
