Location is central: close to the railway station, but far enough not to hear and see those people grouping near the station. Also very close to tourist office, old town and Hotel de Ville (just in front). The room was great - spacious, with a comfortable sofa in front of tv, a desk, enough room to even have a morning gymnastics)). It was very quiet which is definitely a plus! Beautiful lobby. The price af breakfast 18 euros is too high.
The hotel is right in the centre of Tours so very convenient for sight-seeing, restaurants and shopping. It is also close to the train and bus stations. It was clean and comfortable. Parking is very limited - there is a public carpark nearby but it was very full and we were lucky to get a space. The room we had was comfortable but being at the top of the hotel, it was dark with only one small window - a draw back on a sunny day.
Staff - very friendly and helpful
Location is fantastic, and the hotel staff friendly and helpful
The hotel room is newly renovated. It located very close to the Train Station (within 10 minutes walk) and the shopping centre (within 3 minutes walk) of Tours.
Centrally located and very pleasant surroundings
The location was just where we needed to be. The front desk was very professional and helpful.
Superb staff - some of the friendliest I´ve encountered. Breakfast finished at 10; restaurant closed on sundays (!)
Great staff. Great location. Seems to be run down and needs a face-lift internally.
Style of the hotel especially the bedroom. The availabilty of the garage eas a bonusu No
Very easy to find - great location. Very nice staff.
Very good rooms and breakfast. Do not be put off as you approach the hotel because it looks small and in a back street. It is actually large and in the heart of the city (5 mins walk). Would love to go back to Tours and would definitely stay here again. Watch the car park - it fills up and space is very tight for manoevering - be first in and last out :)
Excellent breakfasts and very helpful staff, especially the receptionists The shower tended to spray over the bathroom floor.
Helpful staff with onward booking confirmation etc. Street noise from apartments opposite, so we had to use double glazing to sleep
Our room was warm, quiet and comfortable. The hotel was in a side street very close to the station, but not affected by noise from it. Being on the fourth floor, there was a small balcony in the mansard; although the view was only of roof-tops, this might have been beneficial in warmer weather. Access to the lift was easy, and there was a spacious reception and breakfast area. There was a wide range of choices at the buffet. The dark decor in the room would not be to everyone's taste. Be warned - we were unable to use the underground car-park because of the restricted headroom. On enquiring, we were told that it was 2m, but our vehicle at 1.97m certainly would not fit, and so we were obliged to feed a fairly greedy parking meter a short walk from the hotel.
Nice hotel, very easy to find and convenient. Staff pleasant and good parking The air conditioning wasn't working
Found the hotel very central with easy access to tourist office shops and restaurants. found directions to hotel not quite exact it would have been handy to know that the train station was beside the hotel & would have been much easier to find. Tea and coffe facilites in the room would also be a great idea.
The great location to the city centre and near Tours railway station. The staff was helpful and free use of the internet.
The hotel is located not far from train station and a short walk away from the town centre which is great
Good hotel with reasonable price. Very nice breakfast, close to the train station.
No facility for storing soap & shampoo in the shower. Toilet seat wrong size therefore constantly moved around.
Best price offered ever matching perfectly for all backpackers! Not actually, but, we expect if the hotel'd provide guests more facilities as well as something's like the bathroom stuffs, that would be better!
Tours! Great Location, Breakfast pretty good value and decent offering, Once you accept the basics the room and the amenities facilities etc. are fair. Housekeeping in Tours was good and efficient. Parking was good too and the Five Euros spent for the basement was well spent. On arrival we found that one of our rooms was not booked even though I had received the conformation e mail just that day. The young lady in reception could not find the third room booking, but she was very helpful. a room was given for the night at Mercure whose receptionist was seriously in need of some friendly training. She was grumpy and rude and we think she just had a bad day for which our friends were the victims a Receptionist later in the day Some telephone system on each floor even since it is not possible in rooms. In case you have an emergency there is nothing in your hotel after the receptionist leaves, no telephone no connection no nothing. windows! It was seriously hot int he rooms and we could do nothing to open the window which only opened two inches or so. I know that the railway tracks make lots of noise which is why you must have two double glazed windows, but if only this can be opened a bit to get in more ventilation.
Clean, good location, wifi only in lobby and it closed early evening
Close to the station Unkind staff
Very comfortable hotel with friendly staff
Clean, always good to be able to say that, comfortable, good value for money, convenient location for town centre, helpful staff.
The access to WI-FI is only at the reception but not at the rooms. The noise from TGV is "something"...
Decor was attractive, staff helpful, setting nice. I thought dinner in the restaurant was a little over priced, considering that we were able to find other restaurants within a few miles of similar quality with lower prices.
The room was lovely, with fantastic views. The staff were superb and dinner amazing.
I thought your Chateau was gorgeous and well manicured I thought your breakfast buffet was lacking with only one hot item--eggs and the selection of pastries was fair, no availability to order from a menu. In addition, we ordered room serice of pasta and salad. The pasta portion was very soft and inedible. Because of this room service we chose to not eat dinner at the chateau.
The room and grounds were beautiful With a few notable exceptions the staff was unfriendly to the point of rudeness. They would ignore you when you came in, never smile, and were outright rude if you asked a question that made them actually work. I asked for a receipt showing that I paid at the end rather than one showing an outstanding balance and they refused!!
Beautiful chateau/rooms/space/countryside and quiet. Excellent food.Professionally managed. It took over 1/2 hour to get our wine opened even whilst our 1st course meal was served on the table. The sommelier ignored us deliberately whilst he bigmouthed/chatted about himself to other tables with the focus on him not customer service. We were very upset by this attitude.
Lovely location and building. Room was finewith a large, comfortable bed. The food was well cooked and nicely presented. The practice now in France (but not in Paris) whereby one has to order desert at the start of a meal.
Lovely location Excellent restaurant great breakfast good helpful staff Pillows could be better
The hotel has beautiful public areas that can be viewed by all. The staff are extremely friendly and charming. The restaurant did not meet my levels of expectation; I did not feel that I got value for money and the atmosphere was strained. The degustation in the cellar was an extreme disappointment- 3 tastes of mediocre local wine that was limited to still white and did not reflect the area's potential.
A beautiful chateau in a beautiful location. Nothing
Services at the restaurant as well as at the bar were disappointing. The bar was too noisy for such an "expected" atmosphere.
Had good quality bikes for rent, staff was helpful and friendly, other than bar, public spaces very nice. Just over 1 km walk into town from hotel. Expensive breakfast not included in room charge. Better rates, including breakfast, available for walk up customers.
convenient parking, quick and easy booking in, maps of Tours noisy room (railway behind). Room needs updating. Can't have shower without soaking floor. room carpet dirty and stained - needs replacing. Smell of cigarette smoke in coridoor.WiFi didn't work. Personal message in envelope left on bed was stained.
New hotel well appointed with clean comfortable rooms, small bar open till late, staff spoke good English, well appointed breakfast room and facilities. Car parking was charged.
Excellent breakfast and easy car parking. The hotel was at a fixed temperature. It was hard to cool the room because if you opened the window it was very noisy as the train station is very close to the hotel.
Convenient parking. Reasonable value. A bit away from the old town.
The hotel was comfortable, close to the train station, and within walking distance to the heart of Tours. Breakfast was very expensive.
Excellent, near train station if that is useful. Very good sized room.
It has a garage and it has wifi (but ... read on) The location is way too far from the cute city center. The hotel has wifi, but to get a password you need to register with your e-mail address and then check your mail before you get access (duh!). The girl at the desk didn't really seem to see the problem, but eventually just gave me a password.
Within walking distance of old town centre (10-15 minutes). The room was small and in need of repainting, the carpets old and smelly. It is generally in need of refurbishing from the ground up. Not cheap as breakfast is extra at 8,50€ per head.
The secure garage and the helpful receptionist. Only that on the night we were there the restaurant was closed for a function.
Good value for money. Good location for city centre. Good parking facilities. Rather tired decor
The location. You can walk to the city centre from the hotel. Very handy for visiting. We had booked a doiuble bed and ask for a double bed rather than twin beds. We got twin beds pushed beside each other, at every move, they were moving. Not very comfortable. The price for car park - 7 euro - Thankfully you can park for free in the area.
Excellent safe parking Very basic
Convenient to locate; secure parking; lift to all floors Further from the most interesting (touristique) parts of Tours than we had realised; lift does not descend to basement car-park
good location, fair cost
Only 5 to 7 minutes walks to the old part of Tours.
This was the first time we had used Mercure and it was superb, we shall definitely use them again. We ate outdoors in the lovely outdoor space and the staff were so friendly. We had booked the wrong date, and yet they immediately found us a nice room and away from where we might have been disturbed by a wedding party.
Friendly staff, clean room, nice selection of breakfast.
Quiet location and close to motorway. Too expensive for standard of rooms and especially for meals
Nice clean comfortable room with good size bed Not much in the way of seating. Two nice armchairs would have made all the difference
All staff were very friendly, and willing to help
excelent value for money - great evening food.........great breakfast ( but a bit expensive at 12.50 euros.) ............. need better directions to locate hotel - but receptionis t excelent at directing us to the building - !!!
Drunken guests screaming in restaurant, foyer & rooms went unchecked by staff. No sound insulation - you can hear guests in room above going to the toilet! We got up & left at 4.00 am. Staff ignored noise and were disinterested in our complaint. Room was utterly basic, grubby and the bed uncomfortable. We paid £75 for the night (breakfast not included) & £11 for 1 beer & 1 small wine
Staff were really friendly even though we arrived really late. Good breakfast and great location for touring the Loire. Good range of information with in hotel about surrounding chateaux. Also useful map on ale from reception.
easy to find, good room The resturant staff were very unprofessional ,rude and did not make myself or my 7 guest very welcome, we arrived at about 2000 hours and it became obvious that the resturant staff didn't want to work any later!
Everything was good. The staff spoke good English and as with a lot of French hotels we did NOT get that sense of being unwelcome because we were English. There was very little to fault. If anything the prices are a bit on the high side but the quality is certainly there. We would certainly use this hotel again.
Excellant restaurant Over priced compared with other accomodation in the Loire.
Everything I expected from the website: a very impressive building, delightful grounds, very attentive staff, a comfortable room and an excellent restaurant. None
It was like stepping into a romance novel. The room and the view of the Loire Valley was superb! The cuisine was some of the most enjoyable "gastronomique" that we have tasted. Coming during late September we got a glimpse of the fall foliage. Outstanding! Easy access to all the other chateaux of note. We are eager to return.
Fabulous experience. The staff were so helpful & friendly. The bedroom decor and fitting are of a high quality. The food in the restraunt was firs class as ws the service Shower screen was not ideal - got the floor wet, but tha was it!
The unusual accommodation, the ambiance, the restaurant, and the beautiful crocuses flowering in the hotel grounds. the quality of the shower in our room.
# Restaurant excellent - menu, quality, staff and service. # Hotel staff pleasant and helpful. # Convenient location for exploring the Loire Valley region, close - by car - to Tours, airport, train station, main chateaux etc. # Limited drinks range in hotel bar. # Lack of atmosphere and facilities meant an evening in the hotel/bar not a realistic alternative to travelling to town (which requires driving) # Lack of full room service facility. # Rooms (in outbuilding), while clean are somewhat tired and in need of overhaul and updating # Insufficient car parking spaces meant footpaths and public areas were full with parked cars.
The location. the building. the breakfast. the staff. the fires the view No kettle in the room to make tea and coffee. Hairdryer not strong enough
The Domaine was a beautifully situated chateau with large, comfortable rooms, a great restaurant and very friendly staff who provided great service. Only quibble is that breakfast was quite overpriced.
Peace, calm, lovely staff, location, and beauty of chateau and gardrns Food
it was close to main shoping area and the old town, staff were helpful, but we still had a language problem. our room was on the small size, we expected larger as we were staying 4 nights. it is a small hotel, as a result there was very little guest activity, also it is a nice walk from the railway station.
convenience and location bathrooms could be a little fresher
Difficult to find for tourists not familiar with the city.
Good location and helpful staff The dining / breakfast room has seen [much] better days. Go out for breakfast and find a nice boulangerie /cafe.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpfull. Checking in and out was simplicity itself. Staff were very knowledgable about places of interest and restaurants etc. Breakfast charges were quite high per person when a local cafe/bar could provide the same for a quarter of the price.
Staff were very welcoming, the hotel was ideally located and very comfortable Parking was not easy at the moment as building works are taking place especially as a charge of 10 euros was made, also the breakfast was fairly ordinary
The location, comfort, cost and assistance offered by staff
friendly and helpful staff. information readily given.
Well located, beautiful view of the whole town and of the cathedral from our bedroom window.
Just about everything, but in particular the friendly and helpful staff, the character of the hotel and its location. One thing: although our room was pleasant, comfortable and had a lovely view, the location of the toilet in a 'cupboard' right next to the bed (rather than in the bathroom, as is usual) was not really acceptable.
This hotel is certainly aimed at coach parties. Nearly all the breakfast tables were reserved for the coach tours and when they had finished staff left, tables were not cleared till much later, food was not replaced and one member of staff seemed to resent us coming for breakfast after a large party had left. She had assumed she had finished. See above.
Location is best as close to TGV station and rent-a-car offices. The room was a bit too small. Restaiurant was closed on weekend night.
No bar service after 12 midnight
It location in relation to the railway station. My room had been previously used by someone who smokes, and there was a chemical smell throughout the hotel.
Staff very helpful, looking up train times and getting cot sent to room within minutes of asking them. (Although it would have been nice to have it waiting since we did request it when we made the booking.) Restaurant closed at weekend.
The hotel was OK. It is situated close to the Tours St Pierre train station. The staff were friendly and the service was good.
Cheap for a stop over as only stayed one night for business. Communication was difficult however that is understandable
Check-in reception, quick and friendly airconditioning Parkingsystem not working well, second night european TV-channels not working, only the french!
It was more of a business hotel....the most convinient hotel to a train station that I have ever stayed at....literally from the front door of the hotel to CDG Airport-Terminal 2....My flight on American Airlines was only about 10 mins. to get to by foot .....soooo easy....avoiding all traffic!!!! Price: 75 euros for 1st Class / 45 euros for 2nd Class....would definitely leave out of Tours/St. Not luxurious at all .....but diffinitely convinient! More for the business traveller ....E
Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. They asssisted us with a restaurant reservaton and taxi service. The hotel restaurant needs to be refurbished. The breakfast is ordinary. The communal areas of the hotel need a freshening-up.
The location and the staff's helpfulness. The rooms need to be upgraded. I felt that the bedding and towels were not very nice.
Close to the old town centre, good price vs quality poor breakfast
THe staff were very pleasant, the room was clean and the food very enjoyable
It was spacious, very clean, the bed was very confortable, the room service was very good value. I liked the fact it was possible to make hot drink with a kettle in the room which is unual to see in French hotel, I liked the fact you could get cold water from the water cooling machine and hot drink from the coffee machine on the floor landing. I will recommend the hotel and restaurant. Nothing
Very spacious room, on a very good and quiet location though need a 15- 20 minute walk to the city centre
Quiet hotelm conveniently loacatred The restaurant has the same food day in day out and the breakfast buffet is very poor
Breakfast buffet good. Staff efficient but not friendly. When I booked it was stated that there was free internet access. The hotel denied this but allowed us 30 minutes for free. Entrance to the parking lot can be a nightmare at times of heavy traffic as it is almost impossible to turn in coming from one direction.
the reception staff were courteous and efficient and the room clean and good value . we thought the food at dinner was extremely poor and only moderate at breakfast .we also misjudged the distance to tours centre and the sunday bus service was limited .
position. close to center, but not right in.
Very friendly and helpful staff The Buffet breakfast was a little lacking.
Location Lack of Internet in the our room
Nice clean room. Spacious bathroom. 10 minute walk from Place Plumereau
We were delayed coming over to France and the Hotel and staff were great when we arrived after 01.00. Much appreciated!! NOTHING!!
Staff very good the lack of one refigerator in the room and/or a ice machine, but this happens with all hotels that we stay owne by Kyriad
The room is good and clean. It is too far from the train station.
Access to underground car park poor and dangerous to vehicle. Scraped rear tyre and wing mirror on exit. Difficult not to do so.Saw another guest do the same. Too narrow and turn too tight onto forty degree slope for modern cars. Will notify viamichelin website users of problem
The room and bathroom were spacious, warm and very comfortable with excellent cleaning each day. It was good to have a kettle. Breakfast was excellent but it would be good if it ended at 10am every day. On a break it is nice to lie in sometimes and not have to get up early especially when you are already adjusting to the time difference. The name is misleading as it was a long walk to the main tourist areas. We would have liked a mini bar in the room and also a waste paper basket in the bedroom as well as the small one in the bathroom. We had to get a cardboard box from a supermarket to put our rubbish in. This was the first hotel we have ever stayed in that didnt have a free street map in the room or available on the reception desk. There was no information about places to visit in Tours itself either in the room or in reception. Most hotels have booklets/leaflets in the room.
The wifi connection was very poor for the price paid
The central location of the hotel
The location and friendly, helpful nature of the staff. Not a thing.
Had an excellent stay; friendly staff; excellent breakfast No canal plus
Free upgrade to a superior room (very large and spacious!)! We assumed that since we booked through Booking.com that we would get one of the few rooms that have not been re-done - but when we checked in, the courteous staff informed us that we had been upgraded to a superior room - which turned out to be the largest room in the hotel - quite nice! For 77,20 euros, we stayed in an excellent room, with a booking that included the 12 euros per person breakfast - excellent! Slight difficulty parking...the hotel is in the same square as the train station, and being a busy city, the parking for the station was full. We ended up parking in another structure about a 8 minute walk from the hotel - same price as advertised though (8 euros for 24 hours).
the staff were very helpful in all respects. a bigger business centre and a gym would have been nice!
Nice hotel, convienient location city centre parking, TGV station, good food, nice staff - Internet WiFi did not work, (we were working, so important) otherwise excelent The WiFi, should have worked - they could fix that. Otherwise it was the best.
Very central location, being only meters from the train station. No
I felt the whole experience was positive and the staff pleasantly unobstrusive . Dearth of english language tv.
A relatively short walk to the city centre and plenty of parking places. Quiet location, Rooms clean and spacious. Very helpful staff
The staff were excellent even the cleaning lady there seems to be a great group of young enthusiastic people working at this hotel. The smiles and friendly faces were from what I saw a general attitude in the hotel. Room was clean and quiet and bed was comfortable. Walking into the centre of tours took me 25 minutes so not too far. Parking at back of hotel was handy and this hotel has easy access back to motorway a10. General for a budget hotel hard to beat and lobby restaurant area pleasent with outdoor seating.
It has been indicated in the introduction that the hotel is near the city center. But in fact it's rather difficult for the ones who havnt a car to go to the center.
Friendly and well maintained and very helpful receptionist Breakfast, had puree apple and yoghurt. Apple fermenting and was ill the day after.
None No air conditioning, it was 32, the windows let in no air, the room was unbelievably hot and it was impossible to sleep as there was one fan to cover 2 rooms. The restaurant was reserved for a coach party so we ended up at McDonalds. The hotel was in a remote part of Tours with nothing in walking distance. It was faded and run down, although it was clean. There was no overnight staff and in the morning we were ripped off by the vending machine which took our money but did not deliver the goods.
The hotel was basic and inexpensive. The staff was friendly and the room was acceptable. There was free parking on site. It's far from the center of Tours, so if you don't have a car, I wouldn't recommend it. The room was a little cramped, but for the price, it wasn't a big deal.
There was a good view over part of the city during a long electrical storm: the lightning was spectacular. It's a long way from the city centre but the receptionist on duty was not sure of the nearest bus to the centre: some information on how the buses and the bus ticket system would help.
Breakfast was good. TV was not working - Too noisy (groups of teenagers 1st night + another group on 2nd night !) - Almost 70 euros is too expensive for this kind of hotels -far from city center
Helpful staff and very comfortable room and located within walking distance of city centre.Excellent value for money
The relation quality/price nothing, I recomend
