Pros: Attractive house
Cons: It was described as a Relais, so we had the expectation of an evening meal. No. We asked where the nearest restaurant was - 8km. this was too far after cycling over 40 miles. Could a little something be provided? No. There was not enough hot water for even a luke warm shower. Breakfast was poor, the worst of our trip and this our most expensive accommodation.
Pros: My partner and I were cycling the Loire a Velo route. We booked here as it was a rural village near to the cycle route. It was a little out of our way but we were not disappointed! The host was extremely hospitable and served a delicious breakfast, with coffee and selection of home made jams. She even coped courteously with our terrible Frenglish. We would make one recommendation to all who are staying there - and that is to have somewhere booked or at least planned for dinner the evening you arrive. (And consider that some restaurants don't open on Sundays/Mondays!) We ended up cycling a further 12 mile round trip at the end of a long day to find food and drink. However, we were glad of our comfortable accommodation at the end of it!
Pros: Place looks great from outside. Hosts husband offered lend of a torch for us to cycle back in the dark from Blois. Secure premises for parking either car or bike.
Cons: Host wasn't too friendly. We arrived on a Sunday evening by bike from Orleans. We were not prepared for all restaurants or shops to be shut. Our host informed us that the nearest place to eat was Blois (8km away). I asked would she have a banana etc (didn't mind paying). She said "No". Room is far more basic than appears in photos. 1 bar of soap (no shower gel/shampoo).No tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was bread and jam, spread cheese (no plate, just a disposable place mat), no juice , no cereal. One yogurt offered between us both (lucky one of us). Coffee was served in an open topped lg milk jug.
