The place is quiet and remote. The hosts are wonderful. The suite we had was large and comfortable. The bed was on the firm side but we slept well. The hosts make fresh rolls for breakfast which are very good and they serve top quality loose leaf tea.
Two small windows in our bedroom didn't have blinds or shutters. Given the wintertime it wasn't an issue but in the summer the light could awaken a light sleeper. Also whilst there was a common fridge for guests, some basic cutlery and a bottle opener would have been a welcome addition. Eggs for breakfast is not really their specialty so would give that a miss.
We felt extremely taken care of and welcomed.
There was nothing to dislike.
Excellent breakfast, lovely room and very friendly hosts
Charge to have a change of towels which I never experienced before
Lovely room and huge bathroom. Beautiful location and helpful staff. Great breakfast!
Some of our belongings got moved between the bedroom and bathroom - found it a little strange. Too many rules made us a little on edge and like we couldn't fully relax at the property.
Breakfasts were brilliant - all home-made food. We had an evening meal - a set menu which we booked in advance. It was excellent. Also used the jacuzzi - it was positioned high up the garden area alongside the pool - excellent views of the countryside. Difficult place to describe. I think there were 4 rooms, but they were very private, housed in a separate building to the main residence, with a lounge area which contained the fridge, tea coffee facilities. The terrace areas were sensitively positioned in the outdoor area allowing a degree of privacy and providing shade where needed. English spoken if needed.
Nothing really. I had visions of a conventional Bar from the description, but it wasn't like that - it was just a shelved area within a dining room.
