Pros: Exceptional kind hosts in a specially isolated location. All the home made products and food were delicious. Such a treat!
Pros: Super lovely people who run a real gem in the mountains. Real lovely experience dining all together in the beautiful kitchen. Great homemade meals and breakfast. Close to great ski area.
Pros: Outstanding food - slow cooked 72 hour stew, organic products only from the garden, beautiful views and real comfort. Wonderful hosts with wonderful stories of an adventurous life. The experience of this place is magic - you couldn’t buy it at 20 times the price. An adventure, comfort, and stunning views all combined into one. Could not recommend more highly.
Pros: Hosts were wonderful, views magnificent, food and drink a marvellous voyage of discovery
Cons: It isn't the easist place to find or to get to once you locate it - but that is just a part of the magic of the place!
Pros: I recommend to join dinner. And If u like sauna, theirs is acceptable for Finns also!
Cons: It is not really even negative, but make sure you know the location, it is up there ;) We were travelling by motorcycle, and there was no problem to reach parking spot.
Pros: Great gite to start your Mercantour hike! Knowledge and super nice hosts and great home cooked food, couldn't have picked a better place! Highly recommended! I will be back for sure.
Pros: This is definitely the best place we have ever stayed. The location and views is breath taking. The proprietors were amazing beautiful people, well travelled/ educated and spoke many languages. They couldn’t do enough for us and their other guests. I wish we could have stayed longer because of the relaxing experience and to listen to the beautiful stories they had to tell of their wonderful journey. Definitely a place that every person should visit/ experience. We will be returning in the near future. Paul, Natalie, Nyrin & Loghan xx
Cons: Absolutely nothing!!

Cons: A very French experience, we have tried to learn and speak a little French also try to be part the culture
Pros: Very clean. Friendly and made very welcome
Pros: Very cute and quaint but big family room ! Handy to go skiing in Auron , a cheaper and great way to meet lovely French people . The food was amazing too!!!! We will definitely go again ! Thank you Alexandra and Patrice :)
Cons: Just the fact that they were cats as my son is petrified of them but Alexandra was great and made them go outside every time .
Pros: Fabulous location in a proper mountain town. Stunning little place with a low key, walker/hiker vibe run by a lovely couple who also cook for guests. We arrived late and with two very tired young children and our hosts were gracious and accommodating and helped us get settled.
Pros: Great home cooked meals and communal eating (maybe not for vegetarians however?!?). Very 'authenitic' experience.
Cons: It's a bit wierd not to have a bathroom / toilet door! Noise really travels between the rooms next door and from above.
Pros: The family run hotel is a fabulous experience in a beautiful little French village in the mountains. To stay here you will be warmly welcomed and have a great time.
Pros: Staying within the most friendly family, bringing back the feeling of being an exchangestudent.
Pros: Great friendly hosts - good company and good food. We’ll go back
Located beside a cable car in the centre of Auron ski resort, this hotel’s restaurant serves traditional regional food and offers panoramic views of the slopes and the Tinée Valley. Free Wi-Fi access is provided. An LCD TV and a telephone feature in the modern guest rooms. Some of the rooms also have a balcony with panoramic views. The en suite bathrooms include a hairdryer. You can enjoy crepes, hot chocolate or mulled wine beside the open fire in the tea room. A buffet breakfast is prepared every morning at hotel Le Blainon. Leisure activities in the resort include horse riding and an ice rink is open every day during the winter season. Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée is 6 km away.
Pros: Location perfect. breakfast was absolutely fine.
Cons: Roomes and building are just out of date...
Pros: Friendly staff, great breakfast and great location
Cons: Rooms very warm at night
Pros: Central ,clean and comfortable We had a 2 bedroom room and plenty of space and a nice terrace overlooking the mountains Breakfast was a good choice, good coffee, good kids price of 5€, ew ate one evening there and the food was good too, v friendly staff
Cons: Noise from other people slamming doors late at night or early morning when they came in and out, the main entrance door was on a heavy hinge so closed very loudly behind you
Pros: The location is fantastic. The hotel is in the main square right next to the cable car. Breakfast was limited but perfectly adequate. Rooms are small but very clean and functional. Staff were helpful.
Pros: Good food.
Cons: The hotel is next to a bar which plays very loud music until 0030. Impossible to sleep.
Pros: Lovely little hotel. Excellent location and great little local restaurant.
Pros: Good location. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Great espressos
Pros: Breakfast was great , had to pay extra for it , but it was worth it. Location was too good to be true , 10metres from cable car ,& in the town square. Room was smallish but fine , clean & I loved the auto window shutters to keep out the light & noise. I plant to return to Auron & hope I can stay in this hotel again.
Cons: the Coffee was my only complaint.
Pros: Staff very friendly as always. We also asked if it would be possible to have the room we had last year and the hotel said they would try. When we arrived at 9.30am it was ready and the owner remembered us and welcomed us. All very nice and made us glad to be there
Pros: Incredibly comfy beds, ideal location and lovely breakfast
With a stay at Hôtel Edelweiss in Saint-Etienne-de-Tinee, you'll be near ski lifts, just steps from Auron Ski Resort. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Lovely breakfast much appreciated
Cons: A lift
Pros: Friendly staff, excellent food and amazing location. I would highly recommend a stay at this excellent hotel.
Cons: I wouldn’t really change anything.
Pros: Everything. meals good value. With Friendly staff in comfortable surroundings.
Pros: Supa friendly staff! Particularly in the bar/restaurant.
Cons: Rooms were a little dated, but clean
Pros: Everything & the BIG dog
Cons: Table service very slow by one member of staff, even though not busy, otherwise perfect.
Pros: Nice bar and restaurant downstairs. We had an evening meal and the food was very nice. Lovely central location in Auron which is a lovely village. There were folk musicians playing in the bar all evening which was lovely to listen to.
Cons: The flies! There were so many. They were crawling all over the food, especially at breakfast. There was also birds flying in and eating from the bread basket among the breakfast food. The room is very basic and the towels, shower gel etc were not replaced despite leaving on the floor indicating I would like a fresh towel.
Pros: Great location, town center.
Pros: Great little Hotel with lovely staff and great vibe. Excellent breakfast and restaurant had a good choice with excellent quality. Use of a sauna and steam room was a bonus.
Cons: Rooms/bathrrom a little dated, but that said everyting was very clean and beds were really comfy with memory foam mattresses.
Pros: Beautiful location in a quiet town that’s right in the heart of the mountains. Incredible views. Breakfast was perfect and plentiful. The town of Auron has great facilities including bars, restaurants and the best supermarket I’ve ever visited. The staff are so welcoming and attend to every small detail. Thank you Julia, Michelle and Greg you are all brilliant.
Cons: I liked everything about the property and I will go again. Clearly more a winter resort so I’d love to visit in January/February next time.
With a stay at Le Chalet d'Auron in Saint-Etienne-de-Tinee, you'll be in the mountains, just steps from Auron Ski Resort. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request), and free valet parking is available onsite.
Pros: I liked the approach and the bed.
Cons: I didn’t like that the restaurant was closed. We were explained that the restaurant is not part of the hotel and does not come under their 4 star rating. I also did not like that the bathroom floor tiles were not grouted. The hammam smelt and the water pressure was very weak for the shower in the rooms. And lastly, the buffet breakfast was far from worthy of the €18 per person fee; they wouldn’t even boil an egg! I also didn’t like the attitude of the staff when we pointed out that, for the fee, we were not getting all of the hotel’s services.
Pros: Restaurant excellent
Cons: The village is currently a building site
Pros: Close enough to walk to the main lift, but easier to drive to the car park by the slopes. A smart hotel, nicely done up. Quite quaint, quite chic, not completely either, styling is comfortable. Outdoor covered pool is terrific. A good restaurant, interesting menu, well executed. Terrific warm, friendly and competent front of house staff.
Cons: An unpleasant odour in the downstairs corridor
Pros: Lovely facilities
Pros: Room a d design
Cons: Restaurant didn't work in the evening
With a stay at L'Ecureuil in Saint-Etienne-de-Tinee, you'll be near ski lifts, just steps from Auron Ski Resort. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Pretty, comfortable mountain hotel. We stayed only one night on our journey. Good value, nice staff and delicious breakfast.
Cons: The hotel seems to be clean and tidy, but it smells a little stale. Perhaps it’s the carpets. Fix the smell and you have a 5* recommendation for value for money and charm.
Pros: Great hotel. Perfect location to ski lift. Very friendly helpful staff. We had a great stay!!
Pros: Staff and location were excellent
Cons: We booked the last room, very last minute the bathroom wasn’t up to standard
Pros: Comfy bed
Cons: room was in the basement. smelt a bit damp. quite expensive in my opinion but it was fine.
Pros: The staff were friendly. The hotel allowed dogs to stay.
Cons: No kettle or tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The wardrobe door was broken and there were insufficient clothes hangers. The table had openings instead of drawers and they were very dusty. In the restaurant, dinner was expensive and when it arrived it was cold.
Pros: The owners are really very nice and the lobby and restaurant are very cosy. Good food in the restaurant!
Cons: The room was a bit too small,
Pros: Comfy main bed, decent secondary beds, clean bathroom. The host was very polite.
Cons: The two extra beds had a very low ceiling, that wasn't mentioned anywhere in the reservation (just one of the images of possible rooms). A bit pricey, but we booked with only one week.
Pros: Nice to have a lounge to spend time outside of the bedrooms. Good restaurant with a good selection of wine and cocktails
Cons: Rooms can be a bit small but perfect if you travel light
With a stay at Hotel Le Chastellares, you'll be centrally located in Saint-Etienne-de-Tinee, steps from Auron Ski Resort. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Beds were comfortable. Clean white towels. Amazing view from balcony
Cons: Main thing I didn’t like was the room keys were available on a board in the middle of the unattended reception area. Sheets were clean but had marks on. Only ever one toilet roll. No lock on reception toilet. The reception guy looked like he’d just rolled out of bed with his jeans hanging off him and flies undone.
Cons: Price and facilities
Pros: Nice place with a great view to the mountains. Room was clean, comfort. The staff welcoming.
Pros: Great location
Cons: Breakfast was pretty limited for 16 euros
Pros: This hotel is clearly on the way upward and the quality of food, whether for breakfast or diner is very good. The location is unmatched. The personnel is very friendly and eager to make your stay comfortable.
Cons: Clearly the renovation of the rooms floors in underway, while our room was clean and functional with a very nice balcony, the bathtub was "old style" and the corridors needed a bit of freshen up.
Cons: Nice place, nice view everything perfect!
Pros: Very friendly staff, great view from the spacious room terrace, very clean. Not luxurious, but very comfortable, with a bath and good bedding. Just a few steps from the Teleriou lift & sales office, shops, and restaurants.
Cons: A shower curtain /wall would have kept the bathroom drier, but we can live without it
Pros: First of all the owner was a very nice person. Let us in the room early even before 10am and at the Chek out also we stayed at the hotel until our bus arrival. The view in the room was fantastic. The location is great close to the teleriou, overall we enjoyed our stay in Auron.
Cons: Beds were not comfortable, room could use some renovation.
Pros: Location, balcony & view.
Pros: Good view
Cons: The fact that we had no hot water!!!
