Pros: The hosts were very accommodating as we arrived late in the evening due to a long journey and wanting to eat before we arrived. Our room was large with an ensuite bathroom and beautifully decorated with lots of little touches. We felt immediately comfortable and had great conversation in the morning whilst enjoying a super breakfast!
Cons: There was nothing we disliked.
Pros: Pet friendly. Property is beautifully presented.
Cons: Practical issues let this property down. Bathroom door would not close. Breakfast was very basic and the parking extremely muddy.
Pros: Clean, the rooms are large and the design is great. Annie and Jean Claude are incredible hosts.
Cons: Google maps locate the place 50 yards too far and it’s a bit difficult to locate when you drive in the village.
Pros: Very comfortable and clean. A beautiful quiet location in the country side. Annie and Jean Claude are wonderful and generous hosts. The dinners are superb. We wished we lived in France so we could stay more often!

Pros: They had a large garage and charged us 5 euros per night to put our bicycles in. We have been cycling in France for 25 years and have never, ever, ever been charged for keeping our bicycles secure.
Cons: Making a charge to keep bicycles secure. Breakfast not available until 10.30 a.m. - far too late. Noisy industrial kitchen fan spoiled a tranquil room at the back.
Pros: It was clean, tidy and comfy. The bar downstairs had a good atmosphere and the food was delicious.
Cons: We were charged an extra 11 Euros above the price we had paid when we booked it. The reason behind this was that they had upgraded from a 2* to a 3* and we had to pay for the privilege, which I thought was a bit of a cheek.
Pros: Location, atmosphere, excellent staff and food
Cons: No air con could be an issue if hot
Pros: Its a beautiful part of France.
Cons: We had booked to have breakfast but this was not provided. The cost of breakfast was taken off the bill though. After 16 hours travelling this was not good news! We would not have booked, knowing breakfast was not provided. The rooms are above a pub so was quiet noisy late at night. No A/C so had to have windows open which didn't help.
Pros: Easy location , nice atmosphere , clean , comfy beds lovely staff
Pros: Such a nice stop for traveling through I have never had before - even a bit idyllic!

Cons: No airconditioning on the ground floor and much noise from the motorway if you open the window ( and not very secure..)
Pros: Emilie spoke good English & welcomed with a smile, free WiFi, clean room, good parking & accepted pets. Allowed pet in restaurant & food lovely. Emilie was now the waitress & translated very well. Good food.

Pros: A gem in the middle of nowhere. Hotel, spa, pool.three restaurants all great.
Pros: The bistro has very good food. We used the spa and liked it very much.
Pros: Clean. Modern. Comfortable. Quiet
Cons: A walk out of town. Not clear on the whether we could eat at the brassiere.
Pros: Good location just off the A75 clean comfortable accommodation Staff were friendly and personable
Cons: Had little sleep as room backed on to an open restaurant seating area where a group of residents kept us awake until 4 am and then proceeded to prattle on for a further hour after they finally went to bed..as we were off first thing on our way to Spain could have done with a few hours more kip ☹️....we are heading home in November but will have to find an alternative stop over
Pros: Excellent stopover hotel on way south. Very comfortable and with two outstanding restaurants.
Cons: Staff in the Brasserie were a little overwhelmed on a Friday night.
With a stay at Le Boufadou in Le Malzieu-Forain, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Church of St Alban and Castle of St Alban. Free self parking is available onsite.

Pros: Breakfast was good.
Cons: Room very small.
Pros: Very nice breakfast.
Pros: Room was clean and bed comfortable
Cons: Wfi facility
Pros: We booked this hotel at the last minute when we realised that we had not given ourselves enough time to travel on some of the twisty windy roads in this area. The reviews were positive. There was plenty of parking. We were quickly booked in by the friendly staff. Taken up to our room on the 2nd floor. It was on the small side but very clean and functional. Nice bright curtains and covers on the bed. Twin beds, side tables and lamps. Small desk. Hanging and cupboard space. Tea and coffee and a kettle. Much appreciated. The beds were comfy and we were warm and cosy overnight when it turned cold and the cars were covered in frost in June! As we were up under the eves we struggled a bit with the overhead shower in the bath, but it was manageable and we got away without any head banging issues! We ate in the restaurant. Dinner is served from 7.30pm. Lovely restaurant room. Barn like room with rustic like finishing touches but with a bit of class. Treated ourselves to aperitifs. Can recommend the Kir Royale de Maison. Very tasty. We chose 3 courses at 22 Euros. There were nice choices and it was more than enough for us even if I would have loved to have have had the 4th course which includes cheese. Well priced carafes of wines and the wait staff automatically bring you a carafe of tap water. It was good service throughout. We thought the meal was very good for the money. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. As always it's a case of working out how it all works. We were puzzled when there was no fresh bread, but having worked out other choices, a basket of fresh bread and toasted bread appeared on the table! Very nice stay. Would like to return for a couple of nights to explore around the area as well as having the chance to explore the dinner menu!
Cons: The wifi! We logged in, it dropped off. Went downstairs to query what was going on as there was a wifi signal, a family member helped me out, as soon as I went upstairs, it had dropped off again. That was the only niggle as we hadn't planned the route for the next day. Moral of the story, don't leave it to the last minute!
When you stay at Les Granges de Bigose in Rimeize, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Gevaudan Statue and Church of Saint-Etienne. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: That was a great place with beautiful surroundings and the Aligot was delicious!
Pros: Very welcoming - the owner very thoughtfully made an evening supper for us, even though the restaurant was closed. Interested in the weekend break opportunities and obvious walking region
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. We had pre booked dinner then one of our guys changed his mind which could of caused an issue but was no problem at all. Try the sausages, very good. Views and facilities were great!
Cons: Bit of confusion over breakfast but that's clutching at straws.
Pros: this place is very quiet
Pros: A lovely little hideaway with clean stylish rooms and the food was delicious. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Pros: Lovely hotel located in a beautiful area... very friendly staff/owners. Excellent food and service.
Cons: There was nothing to complain about
Pros: Location, facility, staff, their attitude, meals are all excellent. Hike the Chemin St. Jacques
Cons: They didn't have a masseuse to massage out my hamstring cramps from hiking the Chemin St. Jacques.
Pros: It's located on the Camino in France. Great spot, beautiful views.
With a stay at Hotel Des Voyageurs in Le Malzieu-Ville, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Church of St Alban and Castle of St Alban. Featured amenities include laundry facilities and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very friendly reception staff
Cons: No AC
Pros: This was a great find in the heart of a very cool village! We didn’t have much time to spend, but wished we did. Spacious room with a nice hot shower!
Pros: Our second visit, we love the location and the room with covered balcony looking over the town. Excellent evening meal in the restaurant.
Cons: Everything was excellent
Pros: All of it
Pros: That we paid and left
Cons: We arrived on Monday evening at 21:30 hrs. Many people in restaurant but nothing to eat for us. Even not bread with cheese. Asked if there is a restaurant close to them but no help at all. Almost dead cat on the stairs, dirty bathroom only French TV channels. Shower you have to hold by yourself. Bidet under table. Better take a terrible F1 hotel or budget ibis. My advice to sleep in the car.

Pros: Owners were exceptionally helpfull in arranging an early morning taxi, and in the end took us themselves to ensure we met our deadline. Restaurant was very good, with excellent choices and dishes. Overall very well run and excellent value for money
Cons: The only problem was that there was a racist full scale model of a slave boy and his field wheelbarrow in the reception area, which was unacceptable.
Pros: Good overnight stay, friendly helpful staff.
Pros: The hotel is on the main road at the edge of a small village. Easy to find and with lots of parking. It has a good, popular and busy restaurant serving local seasonal specialities such as mushrooms and a very good cheeseboard. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable with a bathroom that had a good-sized shower and fluffy towels.
Pros: For a two star hotel, the Hotel de France provides excellent accommodation at a very reasonable price. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was warm and very comfortable. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
Cons: The price of breakfast was too high for what was provided : self service coffee machine etc.
Pros: Friendly easy-going check in and lovely room with spacious bathroom. The food was excellent. Had a delicious meal which included wild mushrooms picked by the hotel oweners. They were deliciuous-and I am not a vegetarian! The breakfast buffet was fabukous-with the usual fayre, plus cake, boiled eggs and a lovely fruit salad.
Cons: It was a bit off the beaten track for us, as we were walking the Stevenson Way. Foie gras was on the menu, which,as animal lovers, we didnt like,as it's extremely cruel to produce. Many UK restaurants have banned selling it,because of this. Could do with more vegetarian options. Menu was heavy on the game /meat front.

Pros: Good lunch restaurant attached. Excellent breakfast !
Pros: The large room
Cons: The staff. We thought that the receptionist was a bit surly, until we met the lady at breakfast. My goodness. We were quite scared.... perhaps a lovely smile would have helped. Not much to eat and we had to ask for more coffee.
Pros: Bar and restaurant, room was comfortable with large window
Cons: Not in centre of town, staff not very friendly or helpful
Pros: it was handy for the start of camino walk. Bed was comfortable
Cons: that we had to ring the day before to get a code from the hotel, as hotel closes at 8.00pm. The person serving breakfast next morning was very surly. She could have been more friendly.
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast!
Pros: The food was excellent and the room was clean, but hot. No air con or even a fan. Signage is poor and we had to ask directions twice, even right outside the hotel we couldn't identify it. Only signage is etching on the window, which is not visible if the sun's in the wrong direction.
Cons: No tea / coffee facilities.
Pros: Everything except the do not have a sign identifying it so it was hard to find.
Cons: A lack of a proper sign out front identifying the hotel. The signs on the awning identify the restaurant bar but not “Hotel Linette” so it was very difficult to find the place.

Pros: What a find. Off the beaten track but easily accessible. Fabulous dinner. Lovely host. Nothing was too much trouble.
Pros: It was quiet

Pros: Restaurant is really excellent.
Cons: No aircon and incredibly stuffy rooms on the south side of the hotel.
Pros: Great location. Lovely rooms, great food and pleasant staff.
Cons: Everything was great.
Pros: staff were lovely and helpful not their fault but guests need telling if a facility not available. We would have booked elsewhere
Cons: We booked it for the pool so kids could swim either evening or morning whatever the weather. We weren’t told the pool wasn’t open at any point and time and came a slower route through France as have stayed here before. Was disappointed.
Pros: Coñvenient location
Cons: Not as gastronomic as expected.
Pros: Local food and wine
Pros: Close to highway Quiet neighbourhood Nice setting
Cons: Very basic rooms - need for modernization
Pros: Very good location, near to the motorway in a pleasant rural village. Great rural views. Very clean and comfortable. Restaurant rather pretentious, but v good food for dinner.
Cons: Fight hard for the house wine if you want it at dinner, and they will very reluctantly let you have it! Breakfast poor for the price.
Pros: Staff were very helpfull, Room was Clean & comfortable; The¨"Le Rocher Blanc Experience" was one to be repeated when I am next in the area, preferably for more than 1 night
Cons: Unavailability of Wi-Fi in my room (Due to location I think)
Pros: We have used this hotel several times as a one night autoroute stop and the owner always remembers us. The general atmosphere is friendly, the rooms are comfortable and the food is excellent.
Cons: NO !!!!
Pros: The staff at Le Rocher Blanc were really friendly and helpful. The decor was quirky and fascinating. The rooms were individually detailed and the beds were very comfortable. The dinner menu was excellent and we thought good value for money. Great advice on wine choice too. We were travelling through France and the proximity to the motorway was very convenient - easy to find.
Pros: Good access to motorway, unfortunatly arrival was after dinner,(11pm) and there was no oppotunity to experince the restaurant facilities
Cons: The buffet breakfast was the same as continental, but cost more
Pros: The hotel was nice and clean and the staff were friendly
Cons: The location of the hotel was quite remote, also the restaurant was expensive.
Pros: the food and the swimmingpool
Cons: christmas decorations in the summertime
Pros: We chose this hotel as a stop off en-route to the South of France, we didn't want an F1 or similar but didn't want to pay a fortune. It is only half a mile form the A75 but in lovely countryside. It has a comfortable, friendly bar with a few locals in. Good relaxed atmosphere, after a long drive on a hot day you can have cold beer at the bar or out on the terrace. Welcome was friendly but efficient, room was very comfortable with an excellent bed best I have had for some years. Be aware the restaurant menu is not cheap but the food is very good. The cheapest was €20p/p for 2 courses With the room @ only €58 for 2 you soon spend more than the room. It is a great stop-off and we would use it again. Hope this helps.
Pros: Swimming pool
Pros: The very nice indoor swimming pool in the neighbouring barn. The overall decoration of the hotel and rooms.

Pros: The meal was excellent. Staff very friendly. Made to feel very welcome
Cons: Breakfast a little basic, no milk offered for cereal (minor problem as asked for it and got), Toaster but no bread ??
Pros: Very close to the motorway & has a superb restaurant! The staff us very friendly and helpful!
Cons: The bathroom had a bathtub with a shower, but it was fitted too low so needed to hold the nozzle.
