The cleanliness of the rooms and the bathrooms. n/a
Hotel was clean, our room was clean/tidy and the bathroom obviously fairly recently been refurbished, shower was excellant and the added addition of the hairdryer was a bonus, however it may be an idea to add this to the room specification, as this is something we look for when booking a hotel usually. the view from mroom 321 was great
The hotel was very clean and well presented. The rooms on the front have a great view of the Castle and lake. The two rooms my daughter and I were given were large enough, but would have been very crowded if two people were occupying each of them. The shower cubicle was the smallest I have ever stepped into in many years of travelling. Any movement to soap yourself made your body push off the water tap. The receptionist gave us the wrong key code for the front door, therefore, when we returned at 10.30pm, we could not get in. The bell for assistance had been turned off and, had we not been lucky enough to be around when other guests with the correct code arrived, well, I hate to think what we would have done.
The situation of the Hotel is excellent with views and lake and castle from the front. There was lots to do in the surrounding area. The Castle is well worth a visit, as is the site of the signing of the armistice a short drive away. The welcome was less than effusive. The rooms were adequate but basic. The room tab system was chaotic. Check the bill carefully to make sure that you haven't been charged for meals and drinks you haven't had. The restaurant food was poor and overpriced. The villagewas very touristy during the daytime.
The room was big and has had a convenient bathroom. Nothing
The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect, it overlooked the lake and castle.
Very clean room, mattress with good support (not self-evident in French hotel rooms in my experience), a magnificient view of the castle from the room, several small cafe around the lake (which is 10m from the hotel) to spend the evening.
Superb service, the host could not have been more helpful. Stunning view from hotel window of castle and lake. Excelent value for money ensuite rather cramped. Let them know in advance if a guest has mobility probems.
Perfect location with a lovely view of the castle and the lake. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large and appeared to have been recently redone. The wifi worked without any problems. We had no problems with public parking across the street from the hotel (November 1st). The downside of having a room with a view of the castle is that it is on the street side and it is a little noisy, but in no way a deal breaker.
i had booked 2 double rooms and before i went there i tried to change one for a single room as one of the people could not travel and they said they had none, but when we were checking in another couple came in looking for a room and the girl at receptionist said they only had a single. my mum ended up paying for a double room and my 2 friends ended up staying in a double room.
size of the room was great, good parking, good location too expensive for what you get, also children were a bit scared as the hotel was a bit creepy with red wallpaper and very dark
the flat screen tv. the receptionist was very kind and helpful. the bed had slats broken and it was not comfortable at all. the rooms were not entirely clean, and it was overpriced for the amenties received.
We stayed in a family room, more an appartment. Very good value for money. Confortable, clean, quiet. Beds were good. -
Nothing in particular stands out some peeling wallpaper in the bathroom
A nice location near to the centre of Compiegne, but by the river. There was a smell of paint because they were decorating.
spacious room and warm room no kettle and no late check out. Unfriendly staffs.
3 star grading seems generous for this hotel. dark interior, hot , no air con
staff were very pleasant the rooms smelt of cigarette smoke. They were badly lit and the decoration was very dreary
large room compare to the price.
Convenient location, as it is 10 min walk to the train station.
Excellent Accor Group hotel. Great view of the countryside. Modern, clean, well-designed. Walking distance to cinema, eating (in an out-of-town shopping zone). Good breakfast. Everything included in the price - WiFi, TV, breakfast. Spacious room - I took the family room (28m2) for two people for 119 euros and it was great value for money. Can't think of anything.
Roomps were very clean Hotel does not register in gps and was very difficult to find
Big rooms and nice design. Friendly people great car parking nice sauna
Desk staff excellent. Cleanliness. Gym. 10 mins from E15 so great for north south trip. In an out of town shopping centre. Quiet no wall between bedroom and bathroom
The hotel offered us value for money with a clean room and shower. However ir was not too easy to find given the street address was incorrect.
Made my stay very enjoyable None can think of
Very friendly and helpful staff. Modern hotel - very clean. Very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast included. Secure car park. None!
The shower!!! and the hotel cleanliness, overall the facilities of the hotel were good. The bed was very comfortable too! The location of the hotel can be a trouble if you don't have a car, although you can always call a taxi (11 euros cost a taxi from the hotel to the train station). Also, the lack of enough hooks to hang towels in the bathroom make the space available near the basin a bit messy.
Quiet and comfortable with helpful staff. Good link with local restaurant for evening meal. Difficult to find SatNav and many locals did not recgonise the address. The cinema next door would be a good way to locate this hotel.
Clean room, very good and modern bathroom. Staff could be more forthcoming. Value for money. Reception staff not particularly friendly or willing to answer questions.
clean functional rooms, good bar area, buffet breakfast v good. would have appreciated being able to book a family room - because of cost.
The hotel was confortable, clean and well equipped The closing door in the aisle was noisy when closing
Nicely located wrt Compiegne, Pierrefonds
They accommodated us and our bicycles extremely well. Unfortunately it is/was a little too far out of town therefore not close to many nice restaurants.
I was nicely surprised by the hotel. It was much better than I expected. The rooms were nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was O.K. with a traditional continental style. The staff were approachable and friendly.
very clean and up-to-date, set away from traffic noise, good breakfast, plenty of parking well suited to travellers with a car, but would be difficult to get to if relying on public transport, as it it 4km from town centre
Nice hotel well placed close to main roads , very friendly staff . Breakfast expensive and gates on car park not working
very clean hotel and friendly staff restaurant not open in the evening
The staff were helpful with the problem we had. We had insects in our room and had to change rooms twice
Welcoming Staff, very clean room and public areas, excellent breakfast and free Wi-fi . Would recommend this hotel.
Very new hotel so everything in good condition. Room size adequate. We stayed hear as it was an hours trip from Charles de Gaulle Airport and it was still very much in the country. It has free wifi accessed from your room. Only a slight critisism, but spoken English was limited.
Reception staff very helpful, printed map for us to find friend in Compiegne. Breakfast staff very friendly None
Very clean and tidy with friendly, helpful ,staff who were also efficient. Secure car park too. No tea/ coffee facility in the room.
Very clean room and all furnishings and fittings in first class order. Would have appreciated a kettle or drink making facilties in the room. We would have liked to be able to book in a bit earlier. Reception did not open until 17:30.
The hotel was fine, with everything we could need for a night's stay. As previously mentioned, there are few local restaurants.
Value for money only french speaking tv stations, small pillows
Very clean, comfortable with good sized rooms. Breakfast was good.
Clean room -good beds-nice bathroom-lots of towels Check in was automatic as we arrived late-luckily I rang ahead before to let hotel know we would be late and they gave me a ref no to use when checking in automatically-don't know what others do who don't ring ahead if late as all my other booking refs didn't work on machine-The shower in our room leaked and wet the bedroom carpet -this was wet when we arrived- no one had sorted this problem out before we arrived
The room was very comfortable.
Just think that compared to other hotels it is very expensive for very basic accommodation.
dirty, broken third bed in a family roon forcincung 3 to sleep in a double bed... even though we made the reservation 3 months earlier... uncompetant staff.
Value. Very difficult to find.
Food in restaurant okay 2 main complaints - room had a very strong stale odour that would not go (damp or urine). Bathroom was unclean and inadequate.
Difficult to find, situated on an industrial estate out of the town. Soul- less. Were it not for the air-conditioning we would have checked out.
We stayed there en route to south of France, so did not really see the town. There was a nice restaurant close to the hotel which we used. It was very basic, but clean and the breakfast was good. No frills but a good place to stay the night on the way to the South.
It was clean and had bar and restaurant on site. It was available as a late booking, was reasonably priced and I do like the policy that late cancellations up to 18.00 hrs would not be charged. The staff were fairly efficient but rarely smiled so did not make the guests feel at home. There seemed to be no sign to reception, which was finally found in the restaurant. The food in the restaurant was ok but not as good as expected. - one of our evening meals was not freshly cooked but tasted re-heated and breakfast meat and cheese was not covered so dried quickly.
Good restaurant on site and parking available close to the rooms
nice stopping off hotel we didn't feel that it was welcoming
typical Campanile, outside town near highway, excellent for one night stay, good fairly priced food. everything was fair - good .
The hotel moved us to an Ibis as they had a group booking - this was fine.
A bath! A rarity in French hotels; very convenient stop on the way south; can park just outside the room Lack of clear directions from town centre: we ended up in the forest on a road occupied by deer.
advertised with no parking when there was able to get a evening meal and breakfast none
No Hassle from Staff
Location The signposting to the hotel at the major road junction (5 roads)coming out of Compiegne on the se side of the town was very misleading. It pointed the wrong way. Not all motorists have SatNav. Yet!
leaving Noisy,dirty.Poor breakfast
Efficient check in, rooms basic but clean and just what was needed.
Had all facilities, air-conditioning, wc, shower etc, TV, reasonably comfortable bed, free closed parking. Cheap price for travellers passing thriough. Unappealing colour scheme and poor lighting. Bathroom space inadequate, would not be easy for larger people.
Self check in after hours. No staff available if there is a problem checking in, you could be left outside all night!
We were surprised at the low price, and found it very adequate, clean, quiet, and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was good, with enough choice. Nothing, apart from banging my head on the bunk bed frame!
Very small rooms, like cabins in a ship. This hotel = motel.
service of a night porter ( we arrived after 9pm after reception was closed) and he was very helpful
easy to find, good location, friendly receptionist. basic but excellent value for money not enough plug sockets and no english channel on TV
Clean and quiet room Poor breakfast, insufficient heating
Cheap The room was dirty and the batjhroom was not clean only 2 towels for 3 people.Mould on walls. No plates for breakfast food only a tray.
Automated check-in procedure Breakfast was also good value for money Smell of smoke in non-smoking room Airco did not get the room very cool
The location with river view and easy access to town. Very warm, hospitable welcome. Also easy parking.
quietness, hospitality towards me and my dog, parking facilities, breakfast no
- parking lot reserved during reservation process, hotel didn't seem to know about it - wne making the reseervation asked for quite room: room provided was facing a very busy main street --> couldn't sleep - breakfast was listed at 7,50 in booking, but was cahrged by hotel at 8,00 (new prices as of 2008)
good reception, good place and good service
Great location and comfortable room. Our one problem was that the previous guests had smoked in the room. The odor was difficult for us. It would be good if the hotel specified non-smoking rooms.
Being so close to the centre of Compiegne The room looked very dated, was on the ground floor overlooking a parking space and passers-by could look into the room unless we had the shutters closed.
The parking and convenience to the centre of town
location and confort
Nice room with a view on the Oise river
Good central location. Clean and spacious room. A lift would be handy rather than lugging suitcases up and down
The hotel was located in the city center, close to attractions and dining. Parking was convenient; just a block away. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean and of adequate size, even for 3 people. Beds were comfortable. Our room was located on the second floor (one floor above street level) and there was no elevator.
Breakfast was reasonably priced room was dirty.Stained sheets.Extremely noisy room and very hot though there was a fan available. Was rather concerned that there was no member of staff available overnight.Fire safety questionable.
Convenient for the railway station, fair value for money.Fine for one-night stay. Decent continental breakfast. Very steep stairs, street noise. Strange weak patch of floor, covered by mat.
Useful stop-over hotel for us travelling south
in my room was no wifi access posible
Location of hotel. The proprietor carried our luggage. The two rooms we rented on the third floor were nothing like the one pictured. The very small single room had a twin bed, no hangers or place to hang clothes, no mini bar, and no desk. The one dormer window had a broken drape. We had to pay cash because our credit cards were refused since they lacked a RFID chip. On very noisy street.
the staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and tidy the position was excellent - right in the middle of town but not noisy no
The staff were very helpful and the hotel was very central for restaurants.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is in a good size and clean. It's close to the train station. One of the best restaurant in town is just opposite to the hotel. It's also near shops and bars. It's on main street so it's ok to walk/sight seeing at night though the person is a girl. None
Staff very courteous and helpful; beautiful setting and decor of rooms and dining room etc. lovely
Room was just redecorated in a very nice fashion. Nice bathroom. Large secure parking. Very quite. Very friendly service. Very good restaurant, clearly upmarket. Breakfast was not great. Choice was o.k, but quality was not up to the standard we did experience the night before in the restaurant. We left the scrambled eggs on the plate. The choice of meat did also not look to fresh. A definite dissapointment. Restaurant and breakfast area will hopefully soon get the same fresh look of the rooms .
the room looked straight onto the mature well maintained garden, it was quite and peaceful, private and secure car parking, bed was comfortable, room a little small but tastefully decorated. Well maintained hotel. Breakfast was very expensive. No kettle but there was a fridge.
It suited us as it had parking and the room was fine. The buffet was poor and supplies kept running out, it took time to replenish and the dinner was poor value: pretentious. It was cooked well, but have had far better measl for the price charged.
The room and the oustide surroundings No chance to make coffee in the room
Everything was clean and of a high standard,. comfortable beds. Very friendly staff. Would recommend other travellers to stay there
Hotel was clean and comfortable with good food. The room was overlooking a garden and quiet and there was private secure parking. Nothing
Everything was perfect , Staff ,Clean hotel , safe Parking and Calm the hotel is not located in the center of interests, we went by car to everywhere .this is my only concern.
Clean and well presented. A quiet setting and a pleasant view over the grounds. The secure parking was very convenient. The room was a little on the small size for the price.
Very high standard. None
A lovely charming hotel with a friendly owner who makes you feel most welcome. The town is just beautiful, with many excellent restaurants close by and gives you a great experience of 'rural France' if you are limited for time.
The picturesque location (small town, old redone building)
Charming courtyard, comfortable room, good location, courteous and helpful owner. Breakfast was minimal.
The proprieter was charming and multi-lingual and his attention to our needs as a family was faultless. The room was large and comfortable with lots of character, which reflected the hotel as a whole.
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Central location made it easy to walk anywhere. Lovely situation. Breaksfast was a bit skimpy.
Excellent family suite-spacious and well appointed. Very good breakfast. Very helpful staff.
the friendly and helpful staff, great place to stay
Spacious character bedroom, four poster bed, and super new bathroom.Secure parking in courtyard. Reception only in attendance after 5.00pm and in morning.Very helpful though.
Great location at the center of Villers-Cotterets. Free parking in the courtyard. Very friendly French/ English/ German speaking staff aiming to make you feel welcome and sharing the history of the region. Clean, functional rooms. Very nice overall atmosphere. Good breakfast for French standards. Good value for money! Beware of the attic rooms in August ... Il fait chaud!
Everything - a simply lovely hotel. No!
The ease of parking and a relatively quiet location. Not as good as other Mercures. No Mineral water in room and standard of decor not as good as some.
The room did not have a safe, which is quite important for business travellers.
Easy to locate and good value for money rooms. Noise from above - may influence whether we stay again.
Excellent hotel, friendly staff and in a very good location. It was also very easy to find
The location was reasonable and the security seemed quite good. The room was what we expected. It was a pity the restaurant was closed.
It was comfortable, clean and in pleasant surroundings. The man on reception was helpful. I had no information in advance that the reception was closed in the afternoon. Similarly there was no evening meal available, and this was not made clear in advance. I feel that the hotel is in need of more modern decoration to attract visitors.
the hotel was very clean and rooms were great for a very good price tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom
Friendly efficient staff, some very good english spoken. Quiet location .Small but adequate comfy room. Good security using keypad system on main gate and hotel front door.Easy to find signed from route N2 Restaurant closed FRI SAT SUN evenings Alternative some distance into town center Limited Public transport did not use car due to Drink Drive brought in cold snack for evening meal
We were there to go to the Memorial Day Celebration at Belleau Wood.
We arrived at 6.15am in the morning after a wedding to takes the 3 rooms we had booked. But impossible to get into the rooms before 7.10 because the machine outside was out of order + none at the reception before 7am. It's purely and simply unacceptable even for low prices ! + Staff not very polite as we had to leave the room. I think they should keep in mind we're still customers even wheb we're 10 minutes late to leave the room. It's not acceptable once again.
did not like staying in a cupboard for a room, look at premier inns in britain they are half the price and better rooms. the size of room and bathroom, too small for a family, also the smell from the bathroom
Good location. Ideal for a single night stopover. No soap in the dispenser. Hot tap in basin did not work. Shower room door did not close. No time to register formal complaint and language barrier would have been a problem.
convenience of location ideal for our needs hair in bed sheets, toilet & washbasin badly stained, bathroom had unpleasant odour, noise from other rooms clearly audible, secure parking gate not closed as advertised.
Well set up, excellent location, easy to find The bunk bed, this was advertised as a room for 3 people, it should be explained that the bunk is only suitable for children.
Clean, good internet connection. Small bathroom, rough towels.
It was nicely situated and easy to find. It is just very difficult to sleep as it was very noisy.
