Pros: We had such a wonderful time staying at Château La Thuilière which is stunning and beautifully decorated with a lot of historical preserved original elements / decor dating back to the 18th century. Once there, you drive up and see this fabulous house at the top of the hill. The rooms are wonderful and staying at the Chateau makes you travel back in time. The Chateau is located in a wonderful park which is inviting for relaxing. Eating at the Chateau is a social experience. Dinner is held in the main dining room and all of the guests are seated at one large table. There is also an outstanding living room to relax with a drink from the honesty bar. Breakfast is served at the old Château’s beautiful kitchen at the basement with a “industrial” look. It's a lovely way to make things feel more homely and encourages guests to speak to each other. Really outstanding, however, are the owners Stephan and Leila. Both were wonderful, always making sure that everyone was alright, always up for a chat and very helpful for tips what to do in the area (and there is lots to see and to do!). There is also a little chateau dog and the cat, making this place feel even more like Home. We are so grateful for the experience and thank you for a fantastic evening - we will definitely be back.
Pros: Stefan was an excellent host, the chateau was beautiful and the pool was an added bonus! We had dinner both nights of our stay and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We felt very relaxed during our stay and will definitely return one day!
Pros: Great place for a break in the Dordogne. Very friendly people, nice ambiance an very good food. We had an excellent diner experience. Good to book it in advance.
Pros: That is just a perfect guest house: a historical villa in a fairly good shape with light and friendly service at proper price. Be ready to appreciate vintage and homey atmosphere. Book dinners at the property in advance.
Pros: When I was a child, as every young person I had a dream to spent one night, sleeping in a castle, where dukes or kings lived. And now, when I'm grown up and doing a tour through the Acquitane region, accidentally I found this place on booking- fantastic one! So it is owned by a nice cat, who was really kind- made a tour through the mansion, territory arround, woke me up in the morning and prepared nice breakfast, also offered us big bar menu in the evening. It worth it, speciallu for families and couples. It was the best hotel experience I have ever had, and of course have a plans for coming back. Thanks, Stephan!
Pros: Great atmosphere Great staff Great design Awesome room Fantastic surroundings Great food and breakfast Thanks a lot Stephane and Leila
Pros: What a wonderful place! Super romantic and mysterious guesthouse in its own park, warm hosts and excellent breakfast, diner (request upfront!) and wines! Will definitely return!
Pros: Unforgettable experience.. was totally surprised. So personable, felt like we were guests of the owners themselves. The dinner shared with other guests was superb and fun!
Pros: The history of the Château is so interesting and the setting so beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful place.
Cons: Nothing! - Only that our 3 night stay was too short!!
Pros: Nice property. Quiet location
Pros: We stayed just one night with these nice and friendly people and when we were leaving we had a feeling that we have known each other for years. Very nice and calm place surrounded by the forest. A place to relax for your body and mind. Home made breakfast cooked with care made me feel I visited my grandmother.
Pros: The room was very cosy and comfortable, the hosts were welcome and attentive, they met us quite late, showed us the room and all the facilities including the water pool that we could use late in the evening and early in the morning. The hotel is situated in renovated old country house, there is a beautiful garden, and parking. Certainly it is recommended place for one night rest o vacations escape.
