10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and wonderfully attentive owners. Excellent food and local knowledge.
Cons: No big deal, but some more local wines on the wine list please?
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Calm place for people that wants to rest among wineyards and away from hotels and crowd. The owners are friendly and helpful. The object is far away from bigger cities on the other hand you have things that you need fairly close. There are some restaurants in area (20min by car). You can also eat dinner with owners and other guests. The place is located right next to a cogniac destilery (that do not disturb your stay at all) and so you can have the local speciality really easily. We really advice a trip to Cogniac to visit local food market or one of great destilleries (like Courvoisier).
Cons: The couple that runs the place are Germans and they still need to learn that France is a place of good food and high quality ingreedients (at least I think so). To make the place perfect I would expect local products. Instead for the breakfast there was cheese from supermarket!!!, ham, marolade etc. as well... One more surprice: margarine offered instead of butter...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ariane and Peter were wonderful hosts, friendly and keen to make sure our stay was enjoyable. We enjoyed a lovely meal with them on our first night, sitting in the barn and looking out over the beautiful country side. We stayed in the Amethyste Double Room, which was all that we could wish for, very clean and with a luxury bathroom. The swimming pool was very enjoyable and breakfast was the best we had during our trip.
Cons: No towels were provided for the swimming pool. A drying area would be a help for drying towels and swim wear. We were not aware that cash would be required to pay for the meal as credit cards are not accepted. This is understandable but this should be made clear prior to visit. Luckily we had sufficient cash!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ariane and Peter were incredibly friendly hosts and we couldn’t have asked for more, they were happy to give recommendations and help with bookings at restaurants, etc. The dinners and breakfasts they provided were delicious. The pictures don’t do justice to how amazing the room was in reality! Overlooking very picturesque vineyards, and the pool was perfect given how hot it was! We would definitely love to come back!
Cons: Nothing

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel, friendly staff and a warm welcome. Lovely evening meal with great desserts. Central position in Jonzac and a great stop over hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: NIce hotel, well located with helpful staff
Cons: It was closed when we arrived in the rain!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is situated in the heart of a delightful town with safe and easy parking nearby. We did not use the restaurant, though it is highly rated and I am sure is very good. The room (#5) was extremely spacious, tastefully furnished, comfortable and clean with a separate modern bathroom including a walk-in shower. We really liked it. Breakfast was simple (bread, croissants, jam, orange juice and coffee), but ample and delicious. This accommodation is very highly recommended.
Cons: We arrived at 1715 to find the hotel closed (doors locked and shutters down). A scribbled notice stuck on the restaurant / bar window said it would open at 1800 and gave a phone number to ring. We tried ringing this number a couple of times without success. When it did open (promptly at 1800), we were told by the owners, with a Gallic shrug, that they had no phone reception that day (though the number we rang was a land-line!!). No matter, it was certainly not our fault that we were left standing outside for 45 minutes. A simple apology would have gone a long way, but was not offered at any stage. I suspect that had we arrived at any time out of bar / restaurant hours (at 1600 say) the result would have been the same. If so, this restriction of arrival time is unacceptable for a "hotel" unless made absolutely clear during the booking process.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely central hotel. Big comfortable rooms with great bathrooms. Bed and linen superb. Continental breakfast with good bread and pastries. Spotlessly clean and charming host and staff. Highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s situated in the centre of a pretty wee town. Everything for the property has been carefully chosen, right down to the light-switches. Parking for the motorbike right outside the front door. Good food in their quiet bar downstairs. Lovely.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located.
Cons: Hosts are a bit uptight. Mainly the entry system is a pain. You get a code to enter the hotel which is secure but you also feel like you're intruding when you come back very late. Doesn't feel private like residence des vignes. A bit expensive for what you get. Lunch and dinner hours are ridiculous

Pros: warm welcome in a very nice cambre d'hotes. Very nice room overlooking the beautiful garden, good bathroom. We had a really lovely and memorable stay. Fond memories of talking to Jean and the other guests, the lovely (homemade) apperatives we had, the good diner and wine, the good breakfast, Jean showing us round the old distillery and garden with gorgeous over two hundred years old walnut tree. Jean speaks English and does his utmost best to explain everything. We had a great time and highly recommend Le Vieux Noyer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Although it was late at night when I got to the hotel the owner was at the door to welcome me and show me to my room which was very clean and spacious as was the bathroom and shower. I was given the option of what time I would like breakfast which was very good and there was more than enough. I stayed for two nights and could not fault anything a very comfortable and pleasant stay and the owner spoke good English and was very helpful. I would definitely stay again if in that area again. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner of the property was extremely welcoming, helpful and very pleasant to talk to. We had a wonderful, unforgettable evening meal cooked by him and learned a lot about the area and the history of cognac and wine making- this added to the whole experience of our stay. We would love to make a return visit and would stay longer next time!
Cons: I wouldn't have changed anything - except that I hadn't fully appreciated that the owner only accepts cash or cheques. This was not a problem at all - I just wish I had been more organised!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jean, gave us a personel service, cooking dinner (as he is a fully qualifed chef) and joining as us at the table. Told us about the area, his family are 3rd generation, although now they don't produce Cognac any more, they still own the vast fields of vines, now least out. Great stay, with person touch.
Cons: We could'nt stay longer.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was ideal for me. between Pons and Jonzac and quite handy for picking up the A10 Autoroute. Leclerc supermarket within a few minutes drive. The staff were very accommodating and cheerful. Nice sizeable car park so no trouble parking. Travelled early December and the hotel restaurant wasn't open for dinner. However they arranged and delivered dinner to my room on the 2 nights I stayed in. I had breakfast in the very comfortable restaurant. Plenty of hot water. Bathroom had a very good radiator which warmed the bathroom very well. Wifi connection was very fast and reliable.
Cons: No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. No drawers to stow clothes. The bedroom heater didn't work so the first night was cold but the next morning they delivered a convector heater which was perfect. No USB connection for charging mobile etc (luckily I took my own socket adaptor etc).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little hotel, nice rooms in a fairly new wooden extension with a patio over looking the garden. The night we stayed the restaurant was closed as they had a special music night with a live band. they could only provide light meal of cooked meats, pate, salad and bread served on a board which we had, with a bottle of wine and was excellent. Good breakfast the following morning. Will go back again.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It had everything we needed on our journey through France; welcoming, comfortable, easy parking, good restaurant, dog friendly, close to the E5 roadway.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely, accommodation was clean and tidy, would have been good to have dinner in restaurant but we arrived late.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the room was really good, apart from the comments below, Bed comfortable, Bathroom good.
Cons: The facilities in the room were a bit lacking. there was no hairdryer, An addition of a kettle in the room would have helped as after we arrived at 5pm the bar and restaurant closed. so we had to drive a couple of miles to get a drink and eat, although the lady on reception made a reservation for us.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was fine although undertaken by one member of staff who seemed to be doing everything. Calls/Check outs/Table service etc
Cons: The hotel has a down at heel feel. We have stayed here a few times over the years but this was a poor experience seeing a once good little hotel so poorly run
5.0 Okay
Pros: Not a thing
Cons: Gone down hill rubbish food alfull when booking out a mix up with Bill charge more than a first payment. Do not intend to use you booking.com or them.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff is very nice Place is quiet Rooms Window doors onto the Terrace bring a lot of light Rooms relatively big Conveniently located near Pons Big carpark
Cons: Breakfast way below average (tea or coffee / croissants / bottled juice only) Window doors can be unsafe for those who carry lots of expensive stuff (though the area itself is safe actually) Materials used in the room are old and cheap. A good renovation with higher end doors / handles / shower / bed would be good. Beds are very soft...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel in pretty countryside setting.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent food.
Cons: Perhaps better overall quality

Pros: Very dog friendly, nice comfy bed and a good breakfast to start the day. Also the staff, including the maintenance man! Were super friendly
Cons: If you are tall, the rather small toilets are a rather tight fit!
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Room was very, very basic. Toilet so small you could hardly sit down. Don't like the booking system, staff more interested in their needs. A hotel who wants your money but does not provide value for money
Cons: Accommodation poor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a one night stop in Jonzac. Never been before. This was an old building in the centre of town with good private parking. The room was clean and quiet, facing the back of the property. You walk out of the hotel into the town, in the end we decided to eat in the hotel, Our simple dinner was great value and tasty and the local wine was very pleasant. We did not have breakfast as we were making an early start but it looked and smelt nice.
Cons: The ensuite was fine with a separate WC which was a little cramped, but that is being picky
