Excellent reception. Manager very kindly lent us his map book. Theyh could not have been more helpful. Very polite. Room looked out over canal and our parked car. Spoke very good English.Thoroughly recommend Logis Heraclee Nothing
Hospitality was warming. nothing
kindness, hotel position little info about surroundigs available
Had air conditioning and plenty of street parking. Had balcony but no view since the walls were high. There was internet access but the connection was poor at times.
Very helpful and nice owner who spoke English, the hotel was well placed to explore the surrounding cities and countryside. The room was exceptionally hot and the air conditioning did not work, the bathroom had no ventilation which meant the room also got the heat and moisture from the water vapour making the room more uncomfortable. The town itself , St Giles, is not very tourist friendly and you wouldn't want to choose it as a holiday destination, but it is good as a base.
Family run hotel in a nice location on the shore of a canal. I was afraid it could stink in August, but it did not. Very friendly owner. reasonable price. No lift.
Position of the hotel overlooking the French waterways. The view from our window was of the high brick wall.
Monitored parking Handy location Friendly staff, good language skills For *** rating one would expect a kettle and some coffee making provision
welcoming and helpful
Family room was perfect for what it is.
The hotel was central and parking was easy. Nice to have air-conditioning in our room The room was quite small and darkly decorated
Ideal location for Nimes airport. Good, clean hotel with excellent food and friendly staff.
The staff were lovely and accommodating. The restaurant was superb, and the restaurant staff were equally professional and welcoming. This property is the classic French, countryside-type place where you can chill, use the free wifi (I was on business), walk, eat great food and just feel good.
The clean state of the room and the present airco.
Comfortable place to stay, excellent restaurant and good value for money. Very close to the Camargue for nature and wildlife, not too far from Nimes and Arles for history buffs. If sea and sand are required only 30 mins drive from Les Trois Saint Maries, a lively town with plenty of restaurants and good beaches.
very good breakfast, dinner and fair rooms
The situation, which was convenient. Our room faced the back of the hotel (some of them have to), onto a garden where a dog barked every morning from 5.30 or 6 am. (I've put this here because there's no more room in the next box!) The room, which was advertised as for three people, was smallish for two. The head of the single (third) bed extended halfway across the door to the bathroom; anyone in it would have been unavoidably disturbed if the bathroom was used during the night. The toiletries in the latter were basic, as was the room itself. We were next to a fairly noisy lift.
Hotel was central. Free parking on streets at Hotel ask the staff for details. Free Internet in Lobby. Small on Pool on Roof. Lift was out of action for our stay.
Central location, reasonably quiet at night,it is conveniently close to cafes and restaurants. Hotel completely taken by coach groups hence breakfast had to be taken at a nearby cafe because of the overcrowded breakfast room. The dinner menu for individual visitors had very little choice and only changed once during our five night stay. Fotunately there is a wide choice of restaurants close by. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to to eat there.
Perfect location for exploring Arles and surroundings.
excellent location, confortable and clean rooms, nice staff
Very close to the center of Arles
It was central with good parking Room was basic but functional, but breakfast was awful and waitress unhelpful. Receptionist was good and did not charge for breakfast. Initially we were overcharged for the room, the special rate not having been applied.
It was easy to get to the hotel and it was in the center of Arles. It is a very old hotel that badly needs to be renovated. The whole room design is out-dated and bears sign of extensive usage. This Best Western is way too expensive for what it claims to be!
Location is excellent
excellent location for centre of town Rooms were dirty, decor poor standard. Fire doors were locked on top floor- wanted to walk out but as I had pre booked, would have lost my money Could not get a drink when we arrived very hot - just wnated a soft drink from the bar, but not open until 7pm.
comfortable, quiet, clean, friendly location is convenient, but not pretty --not much they can do about that!
Convenient loation, not too far from old town of Arles Need more food selection at the restaurant
Employee's where friendly and helpfull A lot of the corners on the walls where banged up and we had to keep our daughter away from all the chipping paint.
Swimming pool, big hall Bad bathroom, with wrong solutions..
staff is polite and freindly, especially at front.room is pretty.and easy to access by car. nothing special.
Interesting historic building with poor quality rooms and facilities. This hotel is over rated and is not a four star hotel. In need of refurbishment.
The breakfast at 20 Euros was a great disappointment. At that price there should be a good selection of breakfast dishes. By comparison to other hotels charging similar prices it was not satisfactory.Whilst our beds were turned down on the first evening, they were not on the second. We arrived on market day and were unable to access the hotel by car until mid afternoon.
Helpful and friendly staff.Good atmosphere. Bed too small and uncomfortable.
excellent staff,. excellent restaurant, Meals were very well prepared and highest quality. Staff were very helpful. Wonderful location. Very pleasant atmosphere. Very pleasant common areas. Quiet, clean. everything was very good
There were a couple staff members at the front desk that spoke very good English and were of great help with local information. The rooms are adequate but need updating. The restaurant is amazing but come prepared with mosquito spray! All the staff is very polite and professional. The walls are very thin and you are able to hear conversations from people in neighboring rooms.
The staff was extremely helpful, courteous, and pleasant. We had a problem with a rental car agency and the staff was able to help us contact them and interpret.
The location was excellent, right in the center of things. Staff was quite helpful, accomodating and generous. For the price, recognizing the location, we were disappointed with the overall condition of the hotel. It is rather tired and looks it. The building is a charming old one, but could use some upgrades. These comments only reflect our views on the common areas and our room. Perhaps there are other, nicer rooms available.
The staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel was in an excellent location for seeing Arles. It was very clean and well maintained. Despite being in the centre it was quiet and the gardens and pool were very pleasant places to sit. Not applicable
Location. Hard to find on a narrow street, but right in the heart of the old town. Adaquate room, nicely appointed. Interior open-air courtyard was beautiful with old stone archways, had a castle-like feel. Not really. Parking was 100 metres away in a shopping centre parkade, but at 8 Euros/day it was cheap. And what do you expect in a two hundred year old downtown hotel?
Situation of the Hotel. We like the fact that the hotel is an 18 something years old building. The public spaces gave us a real feel of the age of the bulding and area where it's located. Overall, it was a good exeprience. No place to unload our luggages on the street. We had to park our car in a nearby shopping center and walk with our luggages on the street. The room itself was clean, the bed was good but it's a bit outdated and might require some refreshing.
price, location nothing
new building, self contained. the entire hotel was still under construction!!! it did not even look like it was open for business, i cannot believe a council would let such a business trade. loose wires everywhere, unfinished paths, the entire building was still a work site...had to walk over boards to get into reception. we even had someone else's dirty underwear left in the wardrobe...probably haven't got a cleaning contract yet! might be nice when finished....
The room was very nice, shame about everything outside it The hotel hadn't been fully constructed, lots of work noise, and was basically a building site
Plenty of hot water & clean towels daily! Brand new so everything was spotless. Location.Receptionist was very helpful. On arrival we were shocked to see that the building was not finished. The website photo' shows an apartment block with shops underneath, when in fact the builders were hard at work and the 'shops' were just shells. We couldn't find the door amongst all this! The reception area did not compliment the rooms - rather stark and not welcoming in appearance.
Good soundproofing. Proximity to train station as well as arena. Good housekeeping area and equipment and comfortable bed. Personnel courteous. Security issues: entry to hotel on side street poorly lit and isolated. Also, night watchman very young, maybe 17-18 years old. No use of phone at night, had to go across the square to the train station to use public phone. Also, at reception, personnel lacking experience, not able to give me a phone line, charged me for hotel room upon arrival and again upon departure and did not know how to give me a refund on my credit card for the 2nd time charged.
Nice stuff, well-equiped room. Location is OK, but in case of late check in - it is very difficult to find where the hotel is? Nameplate "Citea Nime" is not illuminated at night.
Clean, comfortable. Well equiped kitchen. Not being able to check in till 3pm
Good point to take train from station, situation near station, helpfuly stuff and comfortaibly room with all nessesarys for short and longer stay.
Located across the street from the train station, on the "backside. Exit the station, cross pass the busses, bear left and it's a huge "target in sight." Carrefour City next door. Small but functional kitchenette. Great WiFi in room. Functioning air conditioning. As a solo senior female (I was unable to adjust the filters for this review) I felt completely safe and secure. I overlooked the train station, but could barely hear the noise therefrom. Highly recommend. I would stay there again
Flexibility, location, cleanliness, breakfast was excellent value for money as was the whole stay.
The location was excellent being close to both rail and bus terminals. The provision of a laundry was a rare and appreciated facility. It was modern an well maintained. Breakfast was good. One of the receptionists was offhand and not at all welcoming.
peacefulness, location, friendliness, helpful, gardens were a delight and the pool/spa facilities good but not well advertised. I would stay again so long as I was in a garden room. Our room - 1 - was fine in itself but was overlooking the road - no traffic - but like sleeping under the eiffel tower. Curtains did not fit windows so bright street lights all night. Not a good nights sleep and not frankly worth the £200. A shame as it is not difficult to find curtains to fit. Also no information in the room about the hotel/area/dining etc. All we got was an envelope asking for a tip at the end....hardly condusive to good feeling.
Everything was great !
Beautiful building with a medieval feel, spacious, tastefully done up. Lovely large courtyard garden, covered swimming pool. Large rooms, very comfortable. Friendly staff. A really classy place where you could easily spend a week or two. Right in the centre of the incredible city of Aigues-Mortes.
I thought that staying at the hotel was a fantastic experience, it was a haven & a very relaxing experience, also the staff were extremely helpful & friendly. Hotel setting was also a bonus.
The whole experience was very very good, i would recommend this to anyone, the reality is far better than what you see in the 'brochure'. Simply astounding. once inside the walls of the town, then Villa. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were great =] loads going on in the main plaza, loads to eats and shop. I even found a local supermarket bought beers and bread and other yummies from the deli then headed outside the ramparts to sit and watch the world go buy and the sun set. amazing =] The roads nearby and the bridge got seriously congested, if you just chill you get in soon enough. It is a major attraction for the area so it is expected i suppose.
We loved the garden and adjacent swimming pool, room was nice and quiet; much care has been given to create a romantic classy atmosphere in the building. The price of the breakfast is not included in the roomrate and too high in comparision to that.
One of the bst hotles I have ever been. Very private and comfortable. A place to go again!
The overall ambiance and attention to detail, close to a wide range of restaurants. An oasis in an historic town.
what a lovely Hotel, right in the centre of the walled city,a super pool in a wonderful courtyard, very quiet location,a good but sligtly overpriced breakfast for just a continental one,a tight squeze if you have a bigish car for parking in the underfloor but very secure garage,we simple loved the stop.and would have liked to have been able to stay longer in that area.
Very comfortable clean room. The hot breakfast food is poor.
Great room, good staff and excellent value. The location was ideal!
Staff were great
Breakfast is poor and expensive. It seems that scrambled eggs contains everything but eggs. At diner, sirloin could have been tasty, but was cold.Fortunately, there are some honest restaurants around.
Very clean, quiet and air conditioned - just what we needed None
Quiet room very hard floor--thin carpet right on concrete--my feet hurt when I first got up in the morning to walk on it
the location was excelent. The weather was bad and we could not go out for dinner, restaurant was a good surprise.
Location of the hotel is very good, quite confortable, easy parking A little bit too expensive.
Excellent location, really friendly and helpful staff, free wifi!
The problem was that we spent the previous night in small b&b near Beziers. Quality and cservise was uncomparably better for exactly half the price. So if you need clean, comfortable bed to lean your head for the night very near the old town and you are not bothered by the money that much it's a reasonable choice. Remember it's just a place for sleeping nothig more As other guest previously mentioned WiFi not working (it was suprise for the staff when mentioned)- not a problem for us anyway
Location, cleanliness, airconditioing in very hot weather!!!
Very clean and very comfortable. Friendly staff. We paid for breakfast and felt it was good value for money. We would stay here again. Lack of drawers and hanging space for clothes.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good location. Stairs only. Bit noisy but didn't keep us awake.
Room was tastefully decorated and the bed was comfortable. The location was good, close to the sights and restaurants, as well as being easily accessible by car - always got a parking space in the square directly outside. Carrying luggage up to the third floor.
very good location near the city center with perfect room with balcony.
Proximity to attractions and balcony with view of Place Voltaire, plus a great bed with plenty of room. No lift meant getting baggage up two flights difficult but staff helpful in assisting.
Big room with balcony overlooking square, excellent breakfast, happy and informative staff Aware no lift but there were a lot of stairs to the 3rd floor!
Great location. Good layout and design, nice art work. Will be back
The hotel is in a very nice square, which is also very close to the city monuments, shops and the restaurants. Our room was a little small; the double bed covered almost the whole room, maybe comfort room might have been more spacious. Ont the whole it is a cute, clean hotel with friendly and very helpful staff.
Beautifull room, an oasis in the middle of Arles. Breakfast out in the garden. Staff wasn't that fast, we had to wait a long time for our luggage and car (after checking out).
food is outstanding, a very special hotel toilets too high, would be nice to have had the pool heated
A free upgrade to a suite was nicely provided by the hotel. Very charming hotel.
my daughter Danielle stayed at the hotel and she said she liked it. The staff were very nice
Myself, my partner and my brother had done a road trip to spain and stayed in this hotel for 1 night on ruturn overall we stayed in 3 hotels and they all were very nice, the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and tidy. we only had 1 issue with the hotel and it was the breakfast it said 14 euroes each for an american style breakfast and all we got was bread and butter with a choice of cheese and hams and some yogurts and crossants we needed a big breakfast before our next 6 hour drive so was disapointed with that. we would saty again but not have breakfast.
Staff were extremely helpful and kind. Likely to make up for the hotel's shortcomings. Tiny, cheaply finished rooms. Rooms stripped of basics (soap/waste bins). Feels like a cheap motel. 20-minute drive from Nîmes proper. Pool tiny and dirty. Understaffed. Food service on a porch only. For those whose prime concern is cost; no joy otherwise.
The hotel staff are very friendly. The location is perfect to make little trips in the area. This is the second year in a row, that we stay in this hotel.
great dinner , extraoridnery cusine
The hotel has a really nice design and was perfect for a romantic weekend without any hassle of getting to and from the airport (as it was only a 5/10 min drive away). It was also easy to get a cab to Nimes city centre. Although our room was lovely it smelt as though the guests before us were smokers. Not too badly though.
The room was comfortable & very clean ,the location was very quiet, the mini bar was well stocked . When I booked this hotel ,the website said there was a very good restaurant ,they forgot to mention it was closed for the season from October onwards . We arrived at 9pm by taxi after a long journey having only had a sandwich all day ,to be told there was nowhere to get anything to eat in the vicinity ,as we were not due to pick up a hire car until the next day it meant we had nothing to eat that night .We could not get a hot drink either ,no tea /coffee facilities. The hot water system was very poor ,you had to run the water for at least 10/15 mins to get any & on the sat night there was none at all.Staff were no where to be seen only at breakfast .
Relaxed atmosphere, good food, close to Nimes airport. bar facilities poor and lack of food if evening meal not booked
Nice setting, close to Nimes, pleasant surroundings, quiet, relaxed, nice and comfortable rooms with small fridge. We were given two rooms at the price of a family one as they were out of family rooms. We were greeted quite unpersonally and without information (wifi, breakfast) and that always makes you feel less welcome even if this is a nice hotel.
The hotel is tastefully decorated and spotlessely clean. The staff are so accomodating and it was so peaceful during our stay.
The room was very clean and not too big, but for French standards very comfortable. There is no restaurant or lounge area to relax in.
nice and peacefull, nice and warm people who talk a lot of languages the badroom was smalish
Rooms are very small but extremely clean, personnel very friendly Not easy to find, Wi Fi did not work properly
The rooms were beautifully appointed, and the hotel was set in a lovely peaceful rural location The hotel claims to offer a bar and restaurant offering gourmet French cuisine. The hotel forgot to mention on their website that these are only available 1 June - 1 September! As it's in the middle of nowhere this was a major inconvenience to us. Furthermore, the hotel offered no tea or coffee making facilities. We had to drive into Nimes to buy a cup of coffee and buy bottles of water. There was insufficient hot water for all the guests, the reception desk was unmanned, there was no heating in the room, and there was no-one on duty when we (and 8 other people) wanted to check-out on sunday morning. We had to wait for the owner to get out of bed so we could pay and leave.
Near to airport
room ensuite spacious and clean restaurant food excellent
Easy access to the Motorway. Seemed a little run down - room was a little shabby. restaurant was uninviting, ate next door at the Holiday Inn
The reception area is very nice, complete with good internet facilities, and helpful staff the room was a bit 'old' - also the corridor; lighting bad in the en suite. I believe we were in an older section of the building.
I liked the good contact with hotel staff - Sympathetic
Free Wifi Breakfast!
Helpful barman who provided us with extra milk for our room on request. The lack of tea and coffee making supplies in the room to go with the kettle. Only 1 plastic cup, and no milk capsules. The receptionist gavce us what she had from a toally inadequate stock of these items.
food application requested disabled room. first room allocated too small for wheelchair thick winter duvet for summer far too hot - we had to reqest a blanket instead
easy accessable with navigation system (industrial park) bathroom was not clean (toilette and door), view outside at the trash area
Clean, spacious rooms. The far distance from the city centre! And the bus from the city centre stops running at 8pm, even worse on Sundays. Walking is not exactly feasible either. Would have taken almost an hour to walk from city centre to the hotel.
Hotel rooms were dirty. Bins were still filled from previous occupants. One of the 4 rooms I had booked had blood smears on the toilet walls and blood on the bedspread and bloody tissues on the toilet floor. In spite of our complaints the room was still not cleaned upon our return later in the day. An alternative room was found for the night and this again was filthy. Complimentary breakfasts were provided by way of compensation.
polite attitude of staff all the time
The hotel is very well appointed and comfortable; we were very pleased with the hotel, our room and our stay! We did not realize that we needed to make reservations for dinner, which apparently ended up being full. That meant we had to find a place for dinner on a Sunday night; very difficult. It would have been nice if we had been advised to book for the restaurant when we checked in.
Friendly and Helpful staff
Good food, friendly staff. First room was not suitable, safe didn't work, window didn't close. We were given an alternative room straight away.
The hotel is nicely refablished but the hotel staffs are so primitive. They do not well trained and you can not expect any service in this hotel. However, the room decor was nice but very noisy. you can hear any sounds from corridoor.
Nothing Antiquated rooms, unconfortable beds, dirty towels , inadequate breakfast buffet, low level service. It is not a 4 stars hotel.
Friendly and helpful personnel; spa; restaurant
Very clean and comfortable and value for money. Staff very friendly Location not great and outlook was pretty average
The room and bed were great, staff were friendly and helpful, food was great Tried my hardest with French but a menu in english, too complex for what I had learned. Wanted bar service but nothing till the restaurant opened at 8pm
The size of the room and the balcony and bathroom. The shutters on the windows so that it was very conducive to sleeping at night. The soundproofing was excellent. We slept like logs. It was far from the town.
