Convenient to the main road without having to navigate into the centre of Niort, automated check in, decent breakfast, clean and modern decor in hotel room. It's basic but does the job well.
comfprtable room, clean and easy to locate. no facility for evening meal
travling from spain back to england
We used this hotel as a stopping off, en route to the south west of France. Good location for us. No
Handy stop off the A10 from Paris to Spain and the Basque country. Free wi-fi, late check-in up to 11pm. Children under 9 eat free breakfast if the parents eat Location was the middle of a complex of warehouse stores on the edge of town, with two bad restaurants next door.
access to good television. wi~fi. quiet overnight good bathroom facillites all areas clean and tidy. an extra coffee satchet was requestd as there was only one in the room, and we were told each room was only allowed one satchet even though it was a double room. false economy ? breakfast grossly overpriced for selection offered.
The Kyriad Niord was a pleasant surprise after our stop in the Kyriad Saintes! The room was adequate for 2 people and the breakfast was good. The Buffalo Grill, next door, was not quite what we would have wished for our evening meal.
Clean room and situated in a fairly quiet area with shops and restaraunts close by. Bit far out of town to walk in.
The location is perfect, balcony overlooking the town and its beautiful lake (if you book the slightly more expensicve room - well worth it in my opinion). Parking is excellent, but at back of hotel (bag drop off at front if required). Pool looked good (but not used). The restaurant was OK, but probably better places in town. Breakfast was expensive and the coffee was poor (from machine) - service was good though.
Clean, comfortable, good value. Nice breakfast. Great for an overnight stay.
very relaxing in the midst of an unusually lovely large town
location and private parking, nice restaurant, breakfast has improved a lot, friendly staff.
Location to lots of restaurants in walking distance. Distance from motorway very good and easy to find.
Good location and competitive priced room. Staff helpful with good English
friendly staff; parking at the hotel; excellent restaurant breakfast too limited and fruit was more than overripe...
Its location, the private on site parking, friendly staff, good restaurant, breakfast has improved a lot perhaps the quality of the fixed menu at the restaurant in the evening has gone downhill
I liked the quiet of my room - even on 14th July.
The hotel was excellent we stayed at 2 other hotels which were much more expensive but we rated this hotel the best we stayed in. The staff were helpful and the food good to excellent. The comfort and cleanliness of the rooms was to a very high standard. Well done all at the Niort Mercure. Perhaps more food on the menu main course could be less spicy.
Nice clean room, big comfy bed, bathrobe, quiet place.
Used the hotel as a stop-over on a drive from south-west France to the northern ferry ports. This is a very good hotel for this purpose, easy to find, good private parking, efficiently run and clean.
Friendlyness of the staff
Very close to the beach and sea and especially the excellent restaurant Dubray The shower
Very good family room all ready. Very good food. Good service.
Friendly and attentive staff who created a relaxing atmosphere.Secure parking and easy access to all rooms No
Stayed here with a friend and used the hotel as an overnight stopover. We were on our motorbikes. Good, secure parking, part of which is under cover so ideal for bikes. Good size room, excellent comfortable bed (which made a change in France), and a very good shower/bathroom. Used the restaurant in the hotel as it is highly rated and one of the best in the town. Overall, very good, and would definitely use again.
The resturant and food
Clean hotelroom (we stayed in a renovated room), good breakfast with a lot of choice, free parking in the hotel
We stayed at the hotel on an overnight break as we travelled to the south of France, It was east to find and having parking was really useful. Nice restaurant.
The fact that it was in town, but yet we had secure parking. Air condition was not in all rooms.
Easy parking, friendly reception, comfortable room, good evening meal and breakfast
Enjoyed our stay. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff. Restaurant to be recommended:very good buffet breakfast. Would be happy to stay there again.
Good size room and very large bathroom, well equiped.very clean, staff pleasant and had good english Poor pressure in shower
Friendly staff and good food
Friendly staff and excellent restaurant, the latter being the reason we chose the hotel having visited before. The weather!
Excellent bed and the bathroom was spacious with a very good shower. Nonslip shower tray would be better still.
beautiful location good staff excellent food
Good Hotel with friendly helpful staff. None
The hotel is welcoming, clean and staff are helpful. The buffet style dinner and breakfast was very good. The room was quite warm
Comfortable bed and room. Staff were helpful and kind.
Very good Nothing
Beautiful boutique hotel. Very clean and charming. Fabulous continental breakfast and very relaxed atmosphere. We stayed there with 3 small children and whilst we were the only family, we were made to feel very welcome.
The quality of the hotel and attention to detail Extra charges for car parking
I had major tooth ache and they found a dentist for me on a Sunday! Superb service from charming people. Thanks very much.
The garden. Private parking. Welcome from staff. Smell of paint in the room. Decoration of room (dark). Aggressive bats in the surrounding streets.
Great location, lovely room.
Well located, friendly staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. The parking is really small (place for 5 cars) and closes at 22:00.
My wife and I were very pleaseed with this comfortable hotel. Very pleasant staff, clean, nice breakfast and very well run. We would not hesitate to book again if we return to Niort. Thank you all very much for making our stay a good one. Everything was all OK
Great little hotel, well renovated by it's proud owner. Good position in the middle of town and very good value. Could perhaps improve the breakfast but believe these facilities are being improved the week after our stay.
The central location of the hotel is excellent despite some major construction work that is taking place nearby to a large municipal car park. The lack of an elevator proved a problem for us as we had to carry our suitcase up the narrow and twisty staircase.
Friendly helpful manner of the owner and staff. Secure car parking is most welcome in relieving any concerns about damage to vehicle left on street. Central location of premises is excellent Driving into Niort this hotel is extremely difficult to find - this is due to recent changes in road access. Whilst the owner mailed a map upon receipt of our booking blocked access road(s) had the GPS unit in a spin.
Very helpful staff Not hotel's fault but access was very difficult due to extensive public works which removed/closed a number of streets in the city
A perfect setting for a break, the ambiance, peace and quiet were really relaxing. This hotel is a little gem, no wonder it's often fully booked. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
The decor of the rooms and the view from our room in particular was excellent looking out over the canal with a detached cottage on the opposite side nestled in amongst trees.
This is a refreshingly different hotel with contemporary design and a positive approach to the environment.the breakfast featured some fine local produce such as home made yoghurt.
Wonderful hotel beautiful location, all the little finishing touches just right. Great concept fantastic breakfast, the best we had in France.
Very welcoming atmosphere, lovely village and the most comfortable bed ever in a hotel.
Easy booking on line- easy access - simple and clean room, adequate and ideal for overnight stay enroute to holiday Gite.
The credit card didn't work at the front desk machine. After calling the attendant everything went ok.
The lack of any identification of a phone number to be used when experiencing difficulties 'checking-in' after 9pm was a major problem. The check-in procedure was deficient, it read my credit card and showed the reservation but asked me to swipe my card again, and when i did it did not accept it and wouldn't give us our access codes. After a long journey this was not at all helpful!!!
The automatic system for booking a room (outside reception service hours) was not accepting foreign cards, only French ones. I was lucky that a kind French person accepted to pay for me with his card in exchange of cash.
excellent staff assistance and clean, modern spacious accommodation in attractive countryside location.
Very attractive hotel. Quiet location. Very friendly welcome and staff.
Fantastic setting amongst fields of sunflowers. We had the most amazing suite with far reaching views over unspoilt countryside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was first class. The bar was not open, although we were able to order drinks from a member of staff until 9 pm.
A comfortable, quiet Relais du Silence After a day's travelling we were very disappointed that the hotel did not have a restaurant and the nearest restaurants were about 15 kms away at Fontenay le Comte
contemporary design/style inside historic restored chateau
Clean, spacious rooms for a very fair price! Nothing
Small room with very nice bathroom The hotel is far away from 'life'. Reception closed during afternoon. Although it looks like this hotel has a restaurant, please know that is does not!
Lovely staff. Beautiful restaurant. Child friendly.
The hotel facilities were non existant as the block housing them was closed, due to fire.
The food was excellent value for money and the staff very helpful. Bed very comfortable room a good size. shower room and toilet very small and uncomfortable. 2 Very small pillows for 2 people could do with extra pillows. No soap at the wash basin, no shampoo or conditioner available, no shower cap. no tea or coffee available in the room
The actual prcice charged at arrival was about 15% more than in the printout of the reservation through booking.com. The staff insisted that booking.com has made a "mistake" in the reservation so we could pay more or leave.
It was clean and functional. It is what it is - a budget hotel at a budget price - no more, no less. Quite a lot of traffic noise being near a roundaboot. Also, the loo is tiny -you have to leave the door open when yoi sit down
Hotel is very well maintained. the staff were helpful and friendly and the food was very good. Great place for a stop-over.
Arrived on a Sunday and found the restaurant was shut. Could have stated this on the website - wouldn't have chosen it.
Easy acces from motor way and dining room facilities were excellent No comment
Breakfast good The automatic checking in system failed to work. Both for us who were pre-booked and someone who arrived on spec. No phone number or access for help, but fortunately you had included the hotel phone number and we were able to get hold of someone.
convient location easy to find when travelling Misunderstood the name and did not realise it was a business chain - not what we wanted. The place itself was fine for what it was and the staff work extremely hard.
