Helpful staff, clean rooms, location Object to paying for gym. Size of comfort room was too small compared with the one we stayed at previously- Room 218 v 206 to 209
location! breakfast was too expensive
Location and the restaurant next door
It is not often that you get such friendly people working at an hotel in France! So this is worth mentionning it. Everything was nice although the hotel is looking a bit old but nevertheless perfect.
All the services that you provided were good and the rooms were large and clean. The bar area was rather small and there was not spare tables at times.
Although on the edge of the small town it nestles up to the acres of vineyards. Easy stroll into typical picturesque old town. Stylish but comfortable bedroom. Shower room compact but efficient and lots of shelving. Separate little 'lobby' for wardrobe and storage of luggage. Good parking. Breakfast expensive but a lot of choice e.g. variety of cereals, conserves, teas, breads etc
Convenient location. Quiet. Free parking. Pleasant staff. Binders are available with information on restaurants, places to see, things to do, etc. and useful. The evening reception staff has always been friendly and helpful in making dinner reservations and answering questions. This is the third time visiting Best Western Hotel Le Schoenenboug. Limited breakfast items and rather expensive for what is offered. Prefer to have the breakfast price included in the room price vs. a separate charge.
Location very good. Swimming pool a good plus. Friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet. N/A
Free internet access. Free Parking. Walking distance to town. Room does not have view. Toilet is so small that if you are tall, you will hit the wall. The front desk is friendly but they refuse to help to change for a room with view of the vineyard.
location is perfect, parking very convenient, staff very friendly, surroundings and decor very pretty room very basic, breakfast very basic, both more expensive than they should be
the hotel is located in a main spot along the wine rout in a quiet village.the rooms are nicely decorated and large.nice bathroom. the hotel closes everything by 10 pm and there isn't any option for even a cup of coffee.
A charming very French inn with a fabulous location and view of the vineyards, mountains, and nearby castle. The food was gourmet.
1)friendly service and 2)location (quiet and nice view) even though very friendly, slightly slow service at the restaurant
Very friendly staff, nice buffet breakfast, very clean rooms, pretty architecture. Beautiful location on the Alsace wine road, near historical locations and walking trails.
A very comfortable and friendly hotel. Reception staff were very helpful. Try to get a room overlooking the village with an amazing view of Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle. A bit on the pricey side compared with some other hotels we stayed at in Alsace.
The location was good. This hotel has a great view too bad that the porch was closed to us so we could not enjoy it. Also there was no staff during the evening so if there was a problem you could not ask for help. Also the tv had a special turn on button which was unknown to us and we were not told how to turn it on.
Had a very nice room with balcony overlooking the vineyards and Kronenberg Castle. Dining room was closed Mon. & Tues. nights (low time of the week?) although you could book ahead and reserve for dinner if convenient.
this was an overnight stop over travelling from Tuscany to Rotterdam. it was a bed for the night and so we really did not judge it more widely. no complaints though!
Friendly and helpful staff. There was no bar. Needed updating/modernizing slightly.
Nice hotel, beautiful location, good service
Friendly staff, reasonable price, calm
The kindness of the staff, the order and clearness of the hotel and its central position in Ribeauvillé.
An very good hotelin every way, location, near restaurants and in the centre. I would highly recommend this hotel for the price and the catergory
They gave us a great room with a private entrance. It was like our own little apartment. THe owners were really nice and helpful.
Riberville is one of the prettiest villages along with many others in the Alsace region-and theHotel de la Tour is in the most perfect location. It is a family run hotel with the owner speaking very good English. We didn't have the breakfasts as there was a superb pattisserie just round the corner where we were able to sit outside- so can't say whether it was good or bad value. We upgraded our room as the one offered was quite dark and small and were fortunate to be able to. Had we been wanting to change the first Sunday in September ( two days after we left) that wouldn't have been possible as there was a fete on in the town and they were expecting 20,000 visitors! There was a small gym with jacuzzi-which my sister and partner used and enjoyed. All in all would thoroughly recommend.
Very centrally located with spacious clean rooms. Free easy wi-fi access. It was impossible to move across the bedroom without the floorboards squeaking very noisily at every step. Our bedroom windows opened on to the central square. With windows open the bells chimed every 15 minutes throughout the night!
Our crib was set up in our room before our arrival. The front desk was extremely kind and helpful in referring us to a yummy restaurant (The Black Horse) for dinner.
The location was very convenient. No kugelhopf in the morning.
The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city. All the shops and restaurants are walking distance. The staff speaks English and was very helpful and even stayed up late as we arrived after midnight.
Central location! The circular stairs were difficult to use; especially with luggage. Hotel staff did not offer to help with carrying luggage up the stairs. Room had very dark wood, very poor lighting and was depressing. We canceled our second night. Bathroom desperately needed remodeling.Hotel photos do not represent the actual rooms!! There was nothing to like about this hotel!
Spacious, calm room with view over the garden/parking lot. Friendly staff, uncomplicated and diligent service. Great location in the middle of the village. A bit difficult to access by car (pedestrian area). The bathroom needed some repairing.
Friendly staff and good central location
The very central location, the good parking, the ancient romantic style, the helpful staff and the generous breakfast. Due to steep stone stairs in the old house the hotel is not convenient for handicapped people and small children. Help with suitcases should facilitate this problem.
Hotel is uniquely situated within the old city walls and right next to major pedestrian walking streets. Parking is right next door.
Fantastic service, top location and private parking!
everything about the hotel was o.k. but not more. the receptionpst in the morning was very helpful and kind. the rooms were not convinient for people over 180cm but this is an old house so....
Wonderful place for staying during the trip on Alsace. Very friendly and attentive staff, nice and clean room. Without any doubts there is hotel with character and kind atmosphere insind.
The room was very nice, the location of the hotel is perfect and the guy at the front desk was also very nice. Breakfast was quiet poor.
great location, large room, wonderful scenery in the courtyard buffet breakfast--not enough wait staff, over priced, small selection, no hot food
This is the perfect place. We use it as our home base when are enjoying the Alsace area. It is owned by a wonderful family. They also grow their own grapes and you can taste their amazing wine. On several occasions we have stopped in to taste wine and have been given a lesson on the wines and the French people. we love this place!!
atmosphere of hotel and village
The Courtyard and pool. Hot tub was too cold. Room was chilly to start.
Cozy, clean & fully equipped with mini kitchen. Well worth the money. Good location, close to different villages in the area. Better if they have a shower place rather than just the bath tub.
Charming hotel in lovely village, conveniently located with modern comforts, affordable, easy free parking nearby, well equipped kitchenette, helpful staff.
It was charming and very centrally located There was only one mirror in the room which was in the bathroom and the bathroom was very small
We enjoyed everything about our stay at this hotel. Our room was spacious, clean and decorated with exquisite antique furnishings. The swimming pool was heated. The food at the restaurant was prepared by an excellent chef. The decor of the old style building was absolutely charming as was the entire village.
It's a very interesting hotel, great having the kitchenette, but otherwise quite basic. I don't know if the restaurant and hotel are closely linked, but we found the service in the restaurant quite sloppy, though the food was quite good.
The view on the Alsatian valley is really remarkable The hotel is over 1 km of hard slope out of the town. It's not a downward, it's a pleasent walk between the vineyards, but without car could be a problem
It was in a great setting right in the middle of vineyards. The room was very good unfortunately not able to take advantage of the terrace as it was so hot when we were there. The air conditioning worked fine in the bedroom but the bathroom and toilet were very hot. Great food in their restaurant with beautiful views over the countryside.
Serene and beautiful setting. Staff is excellent; they provide specialized attention to your desired travel wants and needs.
Very friendly staff. Well furnished and comfortable rooms. Views of vineyards and valley from terrasse. Nice pool and spa/sauna. Excellent restaurant at reasonable prices. Very relaxing place to stay. Nothing. You do need a car or be reasonably fit since the hotel is located high up in the vinyards.
the service was great and the staff was very helpful. Also if you eat in the dinner is of excellent value and quality.
Transport to and from local restaurants.
staff, locations, room size, decoration and cleanness. A real good hotel in a country where hotels are below standards
This hotel has a central location in the heart of the Alsace region close to all the major villages located on the famous Route des Vins d'Alsace. It is located on a hill in the middle of the vineyards with a beautiful view on the surrounding villages and mountains. Large rooms are very nice and employees are very friendly. I am afraid that I do have the same negative comment as many other reviewers about the beds: the mattresses are very thin and the feather bed cover (couette) is too small, thus not covering the whole bed and body while you sleep.
Great location. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. There was a "sewage" type smell in the room. Staff tried to perfume it away. It would clear with opening of the windows, but would return.
The hotel chaufre services to excellent restaurants near by in the evening
Peace, quiet and delightful loc.ation; excellent facilities
Nice view on the vineyards and ideally located for visiting the small villages of wine routes.
Very pretty setting and cleverly laid out lodging arrangements. Taking breakfast on the shaded in terrace with a stunning view was particularly enjoyable. Garden and pool also very nice. Rooms/studios roomy and comfortable. Staff very freindly and service minded Two separate beds pushed together does not constitute a large double bed as advertised!! In addition, the mattresses in our room were extremely soft - possibly due to wear. Whilst the general standard of cleanliness was high, the chair in our bedroom was very badly stained and really shold not have been left in the room in that condition.
The best in the hotel are the bed stuff. It miss a restaurant.
Rooms were very comfortable, quiet with great views. While large suites were pricey, the size and amenities in the end made the stay good value. Highly recommended, we will visit again.
Like most French hotels regret no tea-making facilities.
The hotel was nice and comfy. Perhaps some rooms a little bit outdated, but this was overcomed by cleanliness. The free parking lot and the location is what made up our desicion to stay. Despite that we had the updated version on our the navigator, it did not recognize the address that is provided by the hotel or maybe by booking.com (to our surprise neither did google). The very same address with the very same ZIP also applies to the city Colmar (thats what google says). So basically we started our trip to hotel without knowing hotels exact position. As recommendation to the others if your navigator does not recognize the address, use the map on booking.com site in order to find the hotel.
great food but no vegetarian choice. small and uncomfortable double bed.
Setting, great view and balcony
The location in the middle of the vineyards is fantastic, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is good and the wine list has a good selection of producers from the immediately surrounding area.
overdue luggage arrived 4 days late and we were not called when it arrived...probably just a language problem with French staff & English only guests
The building was a very attractive one that made us want to step in and stay. The rooms were clean and well kept. The doors are closed by midnight and if a guest shows up after midnight even with fully pre-paid reservation, there is no way to enter the hotel. We had to spend the night in our car in the car park despite a fully paid reservation since we showed up too late!!! When we did make it to the room at 0630 hrs the next morning, we found the bed to be rather small.
very good restaurant, attractive location
Excellent breakfast (European style) Elevator is a bit slow and noisy
A hotel and town with a difference! Stepping back in time but retaining modern comforts makes a most refreshing stay.
The location and the charm and decor of the hotel. It was like a scenes fro a Hansel and Gretel story. We liked it so much we stayed a second night. The reception staff were a little slow to attend and one chap (the bar man from downstairs) was particularly awkward when we mentioned that the light fitting from the shower was left sitting on the toilet.
Good location. Uncomfortable bed.
The authentic nature of the hotel which is situated in a beautiful medival village.
Very nice location, beautiful city, beautiful old building. The personell was not very friendly. Not a real familyhotel.
Lovely position in the centre of the beautiful town, full of character, breakfast outside in courtyard Room was very hot (no fans or air conditioning) and bedroom furniture a bit 'tired' - needs updating
The charm of the medieval hotel, the way modern conveniences were retro-fitted into the original very old building. Very colorful and friendly. The extra charge for the breakfast was too much, though the breakfast was nicely done.
Location excellent, room was spacious and comfortable.
Proximity and good ambience
not a complaint but tea making facilities would have improved things
Very nice and comfortable room in the newly opened annex. Hotel well placed in a quiet village with easy (car) access to nearby villages and wineyards.
A very nice place to stay en route. rooms were very clean and well presented. restaurant was very good. only issue was lack of staff available on leaving although this was a minor issue
on the internetpage it says 24 hrs reception, but apparently they would like to close around 23 h. I checked in at 23:15 h, the room had a temperature of approximate 13°C and the radiator didn't work. the radiator just started working at 7 in the morning, means they automatically cut the power off during the night. even more they don't foresee a room temperature above 15°C, that's extremely poor!!
Pleasant hotel in centre of pirotesque village, acceptable price.
Charming hotel with dedicated staff. Food was excellent (dinner and breakfast) and the location was amazing. Worth the stay. Parking is restricted and very limited.
The Hotel is situated in one of Alsace's most beautiful villages. The hotel staff are wonderful and made our stay there to a beautiful memory.
The location was charming, inside and out. A lovely stopover and a perfect one-night place during a long car journey. Parking was not easy, but we found a spot--just had to walk a little.
The hotel was located in the heart of Ribeuaville and yet it was very quiet. Although not fancy, it was very clean and priced very well for it's location. The bed was confortable as well. no.
Athmosphere, food and environment.
Surroundings were beautiful, right in the middle of Alsace vineyards. Food was excellent and the service and very good. The rooms need serious updating. Having said that they were very clean. The remodelling has started, the lobby and dining room are really nice; quite boutiquey.
Very nice view!
The location was very convenient and easy to find.
The location suited our needs for a relaxed stay and at the same time close to castles of historic interes and pictoresk villages within bicycle reach.
the landscape, quiet lugar, wineyard restaurent closed on Sunday and Monday
Great location. Easy to find. Good parking. Helpful and friendly staff. Our rooom had a lovely view of Zellenberg and the surrounding vineyards Good selection of wines from local growers. Good menu choice. Starters and main course were well presented and tasty. The desserts we had appeared to be frozen. A fresh range of desserts would compliment a good menu.
Comfortable hotel. Excellent restaurant.
Typically French hotel... Clean and reasonably well appointed. 1960S decor. Great views within lovely village. Typically French hotel... Got a lecture from the receptionist because we were late arriving, and another lecture on the same topic when we left! The restaurant was "complet" at 9 with only half the tables occupied
The views were stunning...the staff very hospitable
Service minded and attentive personale. Minor misunderstanding regarding the meaning og a quadrouble room. It turned out to be a family room and not for 4 persons and separate beds. Incident was managed superbely by the host.
What a perfectly situated hotel in the most adorable village in the Alsace region. We met the most wonderful wood sculptor and his Dad while walking around the village. Pefectly situated for wine country as well as visiting the Haut de Koenigsburg. The dinner and breakfast buffet were superb.
Excellent dinner and breakfast. Helpful staff. Beautiful pool and hot tub. WI-FI weak. Could receive but not send email, tough for business. Thick beach towels would be nice for pool.
Service was absolutely fabulous!!! We arrived close to midnight and were totally tired after driving six hours and also after a minor misstrack when trying to find the hotel. Welcome was awesome! Even though Hotel´s kitchen and restaurant was closed, friendly gentleman saw that we were tired and propably hungry. He offered us very good local onion pie, salad and excellent wine! Rooms were small but comfy and clean. Our price was 49e/night which turned out to be excellent value for money. Will definately stay here when I´m visiting Alsace next time. If you are planning a trip to Alsace car is a must. Our bed was a bumby and actually a bit broken. AC could have been better.
We got two separated beds unstead of one doublebed
Staff were available but did not crowd guests No
The town where is placed the hotel is very calm. The swimming pool is open at early in the morning and in the evening. The Structure is very clean and very equiped for a 3star hotel. The restaurant is good and very useful for a full total relax.
The place is great. Great view...
Helpful staff who even anticipated when WiFi access was required and provided the pass word. Knowledgeable and helpful waiters who made excellent wine recommendations. Evening meals in restaurant were excellent and good value. Breakfast, included in the tariff, was not to the high standard of the evening meals and coffee was ordinary.
The new pool and leisure facilities are excellent. The hotel would be a great place to unwind for a few days. The room tariffs are high compared with other hotels we used in the Alsace. If there is little or no time to enjoy the facilities (we stayed only one night as part of a walking holiday) it offers poor value for money.
Friendly staff nice food
