Pros: Everything - ambiance, bio products, animals. super hosts, farmhouse, peace, remoteness, fabulous breakfast. Guests should remember this is a country residence some distance from supermarkets etc, however there are some good restaurants in easy driving distance. We will go back again for sure.
Pros: We booked this last minute as we we’re travelling back to England from the costa Blanca Spain and didn’t know how far in France we would be. We arrived a little later than anticipated as the traffic was heavy but the hosts were amazing. My children were hungry and they couldn’t do enough and have them a healthy and nutritious snack all produced by their farm. Our room was spotlessly clean and they welcomed our little dog too with open arms. We loved all the little quirks and personal touches added to the accommodation. Breakfast was out of this world. Everything was homemade fresh that morning. Bread, plum crumble, smoothie, bread, cake, fruits, tea and coffee. It was incredibly peaceful and scenic and we will definitely come back again when we drive back next year. Maybe we’ll stay a couple of nights. Thank you for a lovely rest stop.
Pros: Amazing place, lovely surroundings, ftiendly hosts.
When you stay at Chambres D'hôtes Chez Tiane in Saint-Flour, you'll be near the beach and steps from Parc Naturel Regional Livradois-Forez. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location and friendly hosts. Also the breakfast was very good.
Cons: All good
Pros: Both hosts were very kind! We loved that after a long drive we were received with a drink at the bar. Such a nice gesture. It immediately made us feel welcome. The room was nice and we loved the way the toilet and bathroom were placed in our room. Small, but just perfect. The wide array of jams (confitures) at breakfast was amazing!
Cons: Just a small suggestion for the owners to offer at breakfast to travelers from outside of France: fresh fruit and something savoury like eggs or cheese. That would make the breakfast perfect ;-)
Pros: Extremely helpful proprietor who offered guidance for our onward travel. Knew the local area very well. Attractive location. Great place for star gazing.
Cons: Only one local restaurant close by
Pros: Very nice for a stop over. Quiet and peaceful location. The oweners are extremely helpful and a very nice couple. They made a reservation in a nearby restaurant for us. Simply perfect!
Pros: The owners/hosts of the property are very friendly and helpful. The most impressive aspect of this hotel is the quality of amenities and craftsmanship of both interior and exterior of the building. Linens, beds, shower, toilet, windows, doors, glasses, utensils are all top-of the line. Every detail of the rooms is high quality and perfectly maintained. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast (included) is served with love and has everything you need to start your day.

Pros: Tim and Ingrid were lovely and very welcoming. We booked fairly late notice for an evening meal and they couldn't have been more accomodating. Tim took time to talk us through the different cheeses to taste. The food was excellent and the children loved their meals too.
Pros: We stayed at Chabanettes Hotel & Spa for one night on route to the South of France. We had a large family room which was excellent, two double beds and one single bed. The room was extremely clean and very comfortable. We also had the pleasure of having our evening meal at the hotel and it was absolutely delicious. I had emailed ahead to advise that I didn't eat meat but I ate fish and would it be possible to accommodate this, nothing was to much trouble, the meal was outstanding. We would highly recommend the Chabanettes Hotel, the owners are so friendly and welcoming. Thank you
Pros: Tim and Ingrid were excellent hosts. Friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Gorgeous fluffy towels in the bathroom! The evening meal was absolutely delicious, as was the breakfast. Chabanettes is worth every penny and we would definitely return if in the area again!
Pros: Great 4 course dinner and a really authentic French breakfast in the morning.
Cons: All was good

Pros: Astrid and Walter keep a very relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Dinner and breakfast were great with plenty of delicious local, organic produce. Wonderful house and location, incredible views.
Cons: Next time we’d like a room with more of a view and a double bed. But will definitely be going back
Pros: Everything was wonderful !
Pros: 1. An old farm barn (stone walls) converted into a rustic Auberge, yet totally modern facilities, bathrooms, rooms, new roofs, new wooden stairs to the lofts. Owners are adding new rooms into the adjacent farm buildings. 2. The overall ambiance of the place, they even have some farm animals and peacocks. 3. Cleanness superior. 4. Decor - the owners traveled the world and the place is decorated with folk art collectibles. I slept in "zebra theme" room. 5. Located on top of a mountain - panoramic views of mountain chains and volcanoes (extinct) are breathtaking. 6. The night skies are fabulous, because of remote location and no air or light pollution.
Pros: I enjoyed the warm welcome, the comfortable accommodations, and the peace and quiet. The views are spectacular! Dinner was delightful--attentive service in a convivial atmosphere.
Cons: Dinner is offered in the style of "table d'hôtes." It was my first experience in the family-style service that brings together both guests of the auberge and private parties who dinner reserved separately. As a solo traveler and one whose native language is English (the other 13 were French speakers), it was a bit of a guessing game how to proceed and where to sit. It worked out fabulously in the end.
Pros: An amazing location on a beautiful farm with 12th century buildings. Gorgeous views and lovely grounds. The owners are really friendly! Feel very fortunate to have spent a night there!
Pros: Location, quietness, and the dog!
Pros: We liked the beautiful natural setting, the warm and friendly attitude of the owners and the excellent home made ecological cuisine.
Pros: Very hospitable place, peaceful, spectacular views.
