Pros: Beautiful setting in a former silk factory. Lovely modern rooms. And wonderfully welcoming friendly and knowledgable owners.
Pros: Modern clean hotel in an old shell. Very professional staff who went out of their way to help
Pros: Fabulous staff, brilliant setting
Pros: Comfortable rooms, clean and breakfast was great
Cons: Noting to mention
Pros: Nice pool, helpful staff, good location, clean, comfortable beds and A/C
Cons: The town is not much to see - not the hotels fault, of course!
Pros: This is a very pleasant hotel in an interesting French town.
Cons: All OK...or better
Pros: Very quite room. Very kind and flexible host.
Cons: No place on the wall to hang the shower, and it took long before the water was warm. I prefer a duvet instead of blankets.
Pros: The situation of the hotel right in the centre of St Jean du Gard was perfect, the staff welcoming, efficient and charming.
Cons: The hot water takes rather a long time to arrive when the tap is turned on.
Pros: Very clean and comfortable, great location
Cons: Would have been nice to be able to make a cup of tea or coffee in the room but nothing available
Pros: The hotel is well above its two stars with immaculate, refurbished rooms plus new bathrooms with walk-in shower. Pleasant gardens with swimming-pool and very agreeable staff/owners. Breakfast was good as was the central location.
With a stay at Auberge du Peras in Saint-Jean-du-Gard, you'll be a 1-minute drive from Cévennes National Park and 7 minutes from Jardin Arboretum Bonsai. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The staff were friendly, and the meal we had in the evening was very good. The outdoor area was very well equipped with comfortable chairs scattered around, and a pleasant outside dining area.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
Pros: Location and an excellent lunch
Cons: Breakfast “ok”, staff not too friendly
Pros: Parking easier than in many auberges. Manager was extremely helpful about walking suggestions. Staff were obliging when we picnicked on terrace tables
Cons: Stairs leading to room were irregular and stone. We needed to pay careful attention to avoid tripping.
Pros: I very much enjoyed the ambience of the dining area as well as the excellent quality of food. The auberge left an old-world, yet well-maintained, impression.
Cons: Happy with all aspects of my stay.
Pros: The dinner was excellent and definitely the highlight of my stay.
Cons: The attention and politeness of the staff was variable, e.g. when I mentioned a big leak coming from the air conditioning which disturbed my night, I was greeted with indifference and no apology was offered. However, one woman carried my bag downstairs for me, which was appreciated.
Pros: Lovely setting as a classic Cevennes stone farm house. Cool in the heat. Breakfast (8 Euro) was good. The village is interesting.
Cons: For the solo traveller arriving by bus at the Post Office (where all buses stop) you then have a walk of about 1km to the Auberge Du Peras which is situated on the edge of St Jean du Gard. The restaurant at the Auberge is excellent but quite expensive in that it is a set menu with a number of choices but at a minimum of 23 Euro and drinks extra. Be nice to be able to just order a main course. The bathroom was very adequate and clean but had no shower just a bath and hand shower with no curtain so I had to sit in the bath.

Pros: nothing the whole experience was a shock but it was too late to quit
Cons: The top bedsheet was missing on one of the bed When asked for one, the landlord didn’t apologise but he said he was going to “Spank the girls on their bottom “ completely inappropriate answer He just trow the bedsheet at us and left with banging the door The hotel reception took a long time to find The bathroom floor was marked by the previous occupant falling short at aiming the toilet bowl
Pros: Fairly basic hotel which was OK
Cons: Just a basic hotel.
Pros: Town centre location, secure parking for motorcycles, good breakfast. The guy who ran the place was friendly and helpful.
Cons: The weather
Pros: Great Location. Nice rooms, quaintly laid out.
Pros: Pleasant and obliging owner/manager. Fantastic situation in the town centre but no noise - wonderfully calm.
Pros: Location was good
Cons: Terrible breakfast, doors and window shutters need replacing, garage difficult, over priced. Tired and dated. WiFi signal needs booster.

Pros: Beautiful location, lots of charm.
Pros: Very little yo say as positive & I will try Bed linen clean. Swimming Pool clean & refreshing
Cons: We did not have car as hiking. Location is inconvenient from town without a car. The way to lodging is up steep hill & driveway. There is no taxi service in St Jean du Gard. You may get a taxi to come from Ales if you pay for total return kilometres. Manager / owner offered to pick us up from town after meal for a fee €. The owner manager did not have any town maps or transport timetables. We were very hot & tired on arrival at 5 pm & he took phone calls & did not attend to us until it was convenient for him. As expected being a Château / manor house wifi is limited to lobby & reception room. Staying here did not meet any of our expectations & we should have stayed in town centre. Read exact details about property. Definitely would not recommend to solo travellers.
Cons: Do not have the dinner.....cash only and not part of the hotel...terrible food
