Comfortable and elgant hotel, exceeded our expectations. Staff were attentive, very pleasant and helpful
we ahve returned to the westminster 20 years after our first stay. he had a lovely relaxing time and the staff were lovely, polite and friendly. My only concern , I tried to speak in French and now they all politely respond in English - ha ha, we wont leave it 20 years next time.Kindest regards,Lisa-Jane Fraser
Beautiful hotel in superb location. Our room, a classic double, was comfortable with two adults, child and baby. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit limited and expensive.
Good location, relaxing ambiance
Think some proper pillows would help and obviously some shower curtains or shower screens on the bath, otherwise it's like a shower room.
The hotel is near the town Hotel room was quite small and the restaurant prices are very high. I have stayed in other hotels in the area which I think are better value for money.
It was part of a birthday trip for my wife and she enjoyed it so it was a success.
Excellent situation close to the centre of town - free courtesy car parking - spacious size of the bedrooms
Cost of eating at hotel restrictive for a family of four
Location, friendly staff, pleasant corner room Would have liked to have had an enclosed shower in the bathroom. Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in room.
it's comfortable, easy access to the town by foot. no
Staff were very friendly and the room was clean. We chose not to have breakfast as we felt it was extremely expensive. The beds were very hard which meant we didn't sleep very well. The indoor swimming pool was very cold and was full of children most of the time.
facilities, staff, room layout and furnishings nothing
Didn't stay at the hotel long enough to form a complete opinion, a one night stay is hardly sufficient to be able to judge, however, the very short stay was enjoyable enough and the hotel facilities seemed adequate. Very comfortable room although extremely hot without any real facility to adjust the heating, it was either very hot or hot... Having said that I would not have any objections to staying at this hotel again even though it is not exactly on the economical side.
spacious and bright
Warm and cosy room with good bathroom facilities. Very good breakfast, lots of parking and friendly staff. The only downside was the distance from the town centre, although walkable on a fine day, not so on a very wet november week end.
The is a nice sweimming pool, a tennis court on the roof and location is very good.
Thoroughly enjoyed the peace and relaxation at the hotel. It is conveniently located within easy reach of many beautiful villages and towns in the area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Original and interesting architecture. Hotel staff is attentive and friendly.
Excellent on site facilities A liitle inconvenient for the Town Centre, but since the hotel can't be moved it's the price ti pay for the other benefits.
very good value
Very small room, shower had to be hand held and decor in general shabby.
for the price we paid, via discount the hotel was good value for money
Rooms very nice and clean No tea making facilities
Good location, pleasant room but not luxurious Thin walls therefore a bit noisy. No key for safe - they did try to find it - so couldn't use it
The rooms were decorated very nicely, comfortable and very clean... The tea and coffee tray didn't have any milk and teaspoons missing also no bin in bedroom area, breakfast was lovely except the boiled eggs were tasted awful....Would also have liked one english channel on TV maybe CNN....
Staff were friendly, excellent location, convenience offree hotel car par fantastic, very easy to get to. Referbished rooms very nice. Would stay again. Thw only 2 downsides were no tea/coffe making facilities in room & all channels on tv were french.
The young lady who welcomed us, and looked after us during our stay was charming, and very, very helpful. The hotel is central, and 3 times a week there is a market immediately beside the hotel, which we found fun, and very interesting. The hotel is minutes away from the boutique-type shops and the sea-front. A wonderful location! We'll be verty happy to return to BE Cottage. It was a very enjoyable experience, but it was November, the weather wasn't the best, and there were road-works going on. However, when completed the results will certainly enhance the area.
Location was ideal, room was ideal and good value for money. Location was 2 mins from beach and 2 mins from bars and restaurants. Hotel was modern and clean, perfect little hotel for an easy relaxing stay. Doesn't have the facilities of a larger more expensive hotel, but certainly a great little place for what is only a 2 star. It has everything you need considering there's so much on your doorstep there's little point in paying for the extra's in other hotels. Due to the hotel's building, noise can be a bit of a problem if you're a light sleeper, creeking floorboards, neighbours etc. But no real issue.
Close to town centre and sea front---easy walk to everywhere! Noise from street market setting up on Sat morning--no tea-making facilities in room.
Right on sea front good position Friendly helpful staff Good resturant Parking facilities Room & bathroom a bit small especially the shower
Ideal situation for a stopover on the way to Callis Hotel not as attractive as it looked in the brochure but in side it was clean and breakfast was good
Great value for money. Spotless room and bathroom with balcony overlooking the beach. Evening meal in panoramic roof top restaurant included was very good, well presented and great value. Breakfast a 'help yourself'was also of a high standard including cereals, fruit, yoghurt, boiled eggs, ham cheese, toast etc. None really, except few staff spoke any English at all so translating the menu was fun and no English tv channels at all if we had wanted them which we didn'T. Word of warning Resort renown for being breezy so jacket or jumper advisable for a stroll. It is an old fashioned resort full of 'beach shops', cafe's a few restaurants and ice cream places. The beach very safe for all with tide going out a long way so shallow water.
Room was reasonably clean and quiet. Lovely view to beach. Smelt a little musty on arrival, but put it down to not being used much over the winter. Leaving the window open for a couple of hours seemed to sort it out.
This is the second time we have stayed at the Hotel Neptune, and we simply cannot fault it. The view from the room gives an uninterrupted view for miles along the wide firm sandy beach in both directions. Do get a room with a sea view because they really use their beach all year round and even on a winters day you can watch kite flying, land yachts and various activities, (check out “leblog” at www.berck-leblog.com) and if you just want to chill out and watch the world go by this ones for you. As a summertime base for a beach style family holiday it is perfect, lots of restaurants and fast food outlets to please all tastes, and if like us you have experienced the nightmare of fussy kids with the meal time mantra of “I don’t like it, it’s not like the one we have at home” and “where’s the tomato sauce” (bless em!) then relax, chicken nuggets are available, throughout the resort. The staff are helpful and friendly and the rooms are comfortable. One last thing because of it’s geographic location your sea view room faces west which gives you the most glorious sunset over the sea, so don’t forget your camera.
THe restaurant and bar. The sea front location. Friendliness of staff. good menu and high standard of food. The room was very basic and felt grubby. The bed was noisy and uncomfortable. i feel teh room needed a refit.
Ability to park car off street. Very helpful and polite staff. Hotel is conveniently located on sea front and easy to find. No bad points thje hotel was as described. The room was compact but served our purposes
We had the choice of eating out either in the hotels own roof top restaurant or numerous others within a few minutes walk & cooking ourselves in the small kitchenette
Situated opposite the beach and we were lucky enough to get a room with balcony and sea view. It is in need of decorating and new carpets.
The room was warm, the bed was comfortable, there was a reasonably priced restaurant in the hotel There were no relaxing chairs in the room. The card to enter the car park did not work.
the location entertainements in the evening and the size of the room for the value
The relaxed atmosphere, the quiet, the excellent beach location, rom service, quality of the food. The price of breakfast.
We have stayed there before and just like the ambience and the view of the sea in the morning when you draw the curtains.
The beach beside the hotel - it's lovely The swimming pool only was open during the day, so we couldn't go for an evening or morning swim which we'd planned on doing. The live music in the bar was far too close to the bedrooms and meant that my 4-year-old struggled to get to sleep.
We liked the situation next to the sea.
Lack of reasonably priced food and vending machines
Excellent mattress. Food much better than expected. Excellent choice at breakfast and dinner. There was only a Bar area and no "alcohol free" Lounge area.
Very comfortable hotel. Staff were really polite and wecolming. Breakfast has a great selection.
Eating in the restraunt while looking out over the beach and sea. Not a wide choice of menu
THe situation of the hotel, and the friendly nature of all the staff we encountered. Good car parking The decor of the dining area was unusual not to say bizarre for a hotel of the age and situation of the Mercury, and same could be said of the other public areas
Good quality Hotel, a little expensive but in keeping with the quality. Restaurant was a little too formal for younger children
Greeting was excellent, service excellent., Restaruant and its service excellent
I liked the furniture in the foyer, very relaxing, nicely laid out with pleasant atmosphere. We stayed in room 406 recently refurbished but understand a lot of the rooms on other floors are not so nice from the reviews
A wonderful hotel, a real gem of a find ! Loved the artwork all throughout the hotel as well as the overall design - very spacious rooms. The swimming pool / spa is also worth a mention, much bigger than I had anticipated. All in all, an excellent hotel. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Le Touquet. Can't really think of anything we didn't like.
size of room, wi-fi, comfortable bed, easy to park car. too hot in the building as a whole, shabby decor, worn out fittings in the bathroom.
relaxed atmosphere, well trained staff,no pressure to buy, well laid outeasy to find.Plenty to do none
its location its decor and services were not what i would expect for the price
The bar and restaurant were well and unusually designed. Looby area comfotable and hotel staff very helpful. Double-glazing effect so room was quiet. Tempur-style mattress was a new experience. Room fittings very tatty, tired and worn; e.g. loose handles, no toilet-roll holder, cheap shower curtain, safe not attached to wall, very thin curtains so room not dark at night. Carpetting in room and corridors marked, wrinkled and looked old. Downstairs restaurant buffet expansive but food quite mediocre, mains course was good however.
The room was comfortable and the evening meal in the restaurant was excellent. I would have liked parking to be included in the room rate. To be fair the hotel staff when asked where the entrance to the hotel car park was located said I could park free in the square in front of the hotel.
Very welcoming. They have renovated a bit since our last stay a few years ago Room thermostats not turned up before arrival
Peaceful atmosphere, courteous staff, beautifully appointed room and ensuite, comfortable public rooms. Free parking in the square fronting the hotel. Central location in a town full of history and charm. Did not have its own resturant but there were plenty of reasonable eating places in the town. The TV in room did not appear to have English speaking channels. A mini bar would have been useful.
Position Room was small and plain. Things worn. Needs redcoration. No power plug at the desk.
It's comfortable, spacious and very central to the town. It's the second time we've stayed there this year. It was primarily to visit the town, but had the hotel not been good, we'd have selected another on the second trip.
Building itself is very attractive and there is good parking in the square just by the hotel. English speaking reception staff if you need this. Not very good value for money - rooms were fairly ordinary, some shabby paintwork and bathroom tiling in the rooms - we stayed in 2 different ones plus were allocated a room which we asked to change because the window didn't close securely on the ground floor. There was nothing wrong with this hotel, and the location was great for what we needed, but I probably wouldn't stay there again.
Very nice, large, spacy and quiet hotel. The executive double room is large and comfortable. Nice location in old city, central for many trips to other places of interest along the coast and inland. The adjacent restaurant is very good, superb food (but not cheap). Breakfast OK.
It was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Some of the furniture in the corridors was broken and the displays looked tired, otherwise it was fine.
Excellent and comfortable room, pleasant and very helpful staff, very good buffet breakfast with the one reservation below Unusually the offer of bacon, sausage and scrambled egg on the buffet, likely for a largely British clientele. But unfortunately the British influence extended to the scrambled eggs, which were awful and worthy of an English hotel.
The meal was excellent but the room was poor
It is utterly charming, well situated in an interesting and historic part, and the staff and courtesy and design of the rooms are excellent. The rain!
A very French experience, lovely suite, traditionally decorated. Excellent food, wine and restaurant service No access to room till 3pm, but as we arrived early we were told that we could get in at 1pm, so waited around 45 mins, then told not ready, be another 30 mins, then told come back at three. We wasted a couple of hours doing this.
The rooms were excellent and the building is very special as is the location near the town's ramparts
Beautiful setting with lovely grounds making for a relaxing stay.
rooms were cold and staff not very helpful but I guess as all we wanted was a cheap room it was OK
Wonderful welcome. Well-appointed room set out perfectly for a family
Staff were friendly and tolerant of my appalling French; the facilities in the triple room were more than adequate and the hotel was spotlessly clean. Good sign-posting made it quite easy to find as well.
Room was functional and good for purpose. Nice location. Breakfast was far too expensive for what you got.
Internet connection (Wi-fi) no
Great to have our own kitchen facilities, perfect for our needs Would have liked a microwave in the kitchen
Although basic it suited our needs andthe fact that I could cook a snack for my children was excellent The floor in the apartment could have been swept better.
Nice and quiet, big rooms with kitchenette was a bonus. There was no kettle in the room, so could not make tea.
The staff we helpful and friendly, the rooms were more than adequate and the surroundings were very pleasant and quiet, the breakfast was good but basic, my party would use thia hotel again, as it was cheap and good value for money. the rooms could do with a bit modernisation and the tv were a bit small
We didn't stay long because we were going further south and the weather was poor. The hotal restaurant was excellent.
No pretensions. Got what you paid for. Very relaxed.
Location and staff excellent. we dined in the restaurant and as always it was fantastic. I think the car parking charge at 14 euros is too high. We paid the firstnight but parked in the square adjacent the second, a more reasonable rate and we would have parked both nights.
The reason we coming back to this hotel is the fantastic resturant - makes it a great weekend treat.
Our room was nice and clean and the heating system was excellent. Breakfast was good, with excellent service. The location is great, being only an hour and a quarter from Calais and half an hour from Le Touquet. Montreuil, and Hesdin, which is half an hour further inland, are both excellent for shopping and eating out. Lock-up parking was offered at €14 a night. We declined and parked by our room. On leaving, our bill included €28 for parking. They said parking by our room was also chargable, and a notice displayed outside stated that. Unfortunately, the writing was small, so we hadn't been able to read it. We'd booked a table for the Saturday night and were greeted cordially, and offered an aperitif on arrival. After our 2 Dubonets arrived we found out they cost €8 each - you can buy a litre for €8.25! We chose the cheapest menu (€40 each). After our starters, it took over an hour for our main courses to arrive. My fish and my partner's beef were both too tough to eat. Sad - we stayed and ate there before, really enjoyed it, and didn't feel overcharged.
The food The room we had on the first night was cramped and uncomfortable.
The room was okay but we did not eat at the hotel too expensive 14 euros to park overnight was expensive parked on road outside
cheeful plite staff
Food excellent - menu terroir interesting and good value - excellent cheese table. Attractive courtyard layout - quiet rooms . Bathroom decor
This is a fantastic, stylish hotel with very helpful & interesting staff who went out of their way to make our stay a pleasure
Friendly staff and perfect position for bars and resturants. Will stay again
Clean, comfortable, great location Staff warned us about not parking just outside the hotel on the evenings before market days (risk of being towed) but a reminder notice on the reception desk would have been suficient rather than a 2.30am phone call to check we'd moved the car
Excellent location; modern style rooms. Airconditioning didn't work; no walk in shower (bathtub only). While the room was comfortable (although a bit small) and the hotel in good condition, I wouldn't rate this as a 4 star hotel.
modern and clean, good location, friendly helpful staff small room for the money
The decor was very good, the location excellent. The staff were very good too. We had the continental breakfast in the room which was delivered very quickly and tasted great. As a small boutique hotel there was very little to fault it. Parking was nearby, the market is on Saturday, but the other carpark wasnt far and 15 euros for two days was good. I would reccomend the loft as its a large room, plenty of space though the lift doesnt run all the way up there so it wouldnt be great for someone with 50kg bags. At the rate we booked the room it couldnt be seriously faulted. honestly the only thing was that seal on the shower door was loose, in all probability the result of a heavy season Im sure it will be fixed asap.
Helpful staff, comfortable beds, great style. Auromatic lights on the landing often left us waiting for the lifts in the dark.
Stylish hotel in a good location. Very helpful staff.
The location of the hotel was excellent and parking the car was right outside the hotel We could only get internet on the landing and not in the room. There was not any tea making facilities in the room
Clean, comfortable rooms, good situation Staff not very friendly
Small and perfectly formed!! Small rooms but so expertly fitted out. Everything you could need. Comfort very good. The staff were very accommodating. My French is not good so we had some French lessons. Thank you Elodie!!! If you want a large bedroom then this is not for you but the comfort and kindness of the staff more than makes up for room size. Adequate lounge and bar so you don't have to sit in your room!!!
we loved the room, small but clean ,very modern, nice large shower & excellent bedlinen.Good breakfast, plenty of parking spaces & friendly staff.Good value.
price small rooms .no english menu
All rooms very well appointed if a little small. Very nice reception area but bar closes at 10pm so do not expect a late drink
The staff were welcoming and friendly, the rooms are small but well designed and spotlessly clean. Perfect for a stopover without having to be in central Calais. Nothing!
very pleasant and helpful staff who genuinely you felt wanted to assist you with any query,
The Hotel was in a good location as we required and was clean. The staff were all very helpful even though our french was limited and the people on reception sorted us out with all we wanted The only criticism i had was the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the room which after a long journey as we had , a good relaxing drink in the room would have been nice
I was very impressed by the decoration of the hotel and the rooms. The pictures on the website did not look as good as the real thing. The price of breakfast was expensive. It would be better value if a full English breakfast was offered.
Excellent and friendly service nothing to complain about
Location to town centre
The very pleasant receptionist who doubled up as the bar staff and kept serving us late into the evening.
Easy access to main town Our hotel room overlooked the car park which was very noisy at times
very central, comfortable and the blond receptionist spoke very good english and was very helpful in recommending places to eat etc. no
nice room, large double bed. very clean. nice courtyard breakfast quite pricey at 10 euros
Very friendly staff, who were helpful.
Great central location Unfortunately there was a large noisy party on a golfing trip who showed absolutely no consideration for other guests by coming back to the hotel very late and very drunk and then getting up early and insisting on knocking on each other's doors to check they were awake. Not sure why they did not use the phones to communicate with each other.
Very friendly efficient service The tiny shower room
location noise outside through the night - possibly air conditioning unit? parking was advertised on website, when we got there was told there is a height barrier which was too low for our discovery
Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, comfortable rooms at a reasonable price.
Location ie proximity to town centre. Refurbished bathroom.
Friendly and helpful Receptiion Staff. Comfortable beds. Nice bed linen. The breakfast was very expensive for what was on offer. No bacon or cold meats. We would say that it was just 'adequate'
The staff were very efficient and the location of the hotel was absolutely spot on Parking was a little difficult
Location was perfect.
The quality of the fixtures and fittings were excellent. Room and en-suite were on the small side but location made up for that. Highly recommended.
Good location in town centre, very helpfull staff and comfortable room.
Spacious room with good facilities but in need of redecoration. Very run down building with wallpaper peeling off damp walls etc.
Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Would definitely return On the boking form it only asked for no of adults and not children which led to confusion over rooms.
Nothing The hotel seemed very shabby.
Having stayed at the Hotel Regina for only one night it is not fair to provide an in-depth assessment of this establishment. The Hotel is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment and will be superb when finished. It was clean and comfortable and the food, whilst not gormet was none the less quite good. The receptionist was helpful and spoke excellent English. Nothing in particular springs to mind
Hotel clearly having a major overhaul but that did not detract from our stay. Friendly staff who were very helpful. Dinner was very good in the restaurant and the breakfast was varied and excellent value for money. We would certainly stay here again.
Very friendly and helpful staff Bathroom very small. No coat hangers in wardrobe.Television not working ,although in fairness we didn"t report it at the time so do not know how promptly this would have been rectified had we done so.
Location. Size & cleanliness of room. Very friendly staff
Lovely clean hotel, excellent location. Staff very helpful & polite. Great food Nothing really!
very private, kids welcome was nice, hot water there, seemed very safe, the kitchen locked there, when it could of been great use for long journey people that would of liked to eat,
Good breakfast, friendly staff. Car park area could be improved.
Staff was very helpfull.
Nice design and good proximity to the high street and beach. The room was too compact and the breakfast was not good value for money. Very expensive for what was on offer and no hot food. The toilet in the room was very small.
Good location, ideal for one night.
pleasent staff, quite location unable to get wifi signal in room
Good, cheerful reception. Very good breakfast - at the price. Bathroom rather cramped, and unused t/roll dispenser should be removed.
Good clean basic accomodation. Staff all friendly and hotel close to main amenities. Town very quiet. Number of bars and restaurants closed. Fine for us for an overnight stay but not many options if you were staying a longer period.
polite and friendly staff. very helpful toileetries were poor. Room small. only one bedside table. the price should have included breakfast, which was very basic for 9euros
Staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good English None
its a nice little hotel, however during autumn and winter its like a ghost place. you would have to walk about good 5 minutes to the nearest bar and good 20 min to the beach.
Very quiet, good location for beach & restaurants. Very helpful and attentive staff.
Lovely staff, very traditional style farmhouse with delightful dining room and good food. Great breakfasts in particular. The bedroom was a little dark but had a space to sit outside with table/chairs etc. and was clean and comfortable. Child friendly. Rooms were a little dark.
Charming accommodation. Excellent cuisine! Very welcoming. Room had a bit of a damp smell but it didn't spoil our stay
We have stayed at rhe Hotel a few times and have always been comfortable although the rooms are small.
The genuine farmhouse surroundings and an excellent 5 course dinner. Having to leave.
The peace and quietness coupled with friendly and unobtrusive service. The warm bath and log fire after a very wet day. Personally I have a small appetite and the servings at dinner were too large but I realise this would be an advantage for many.
It's relaxing countryside location, yet within easy reach, (15 to 20 minutes) of the nearest town.
peaceful rural location - delightful grounds, with picnic tables and chairs, some sheltered - warm welcome (we arrived too early)and friendly helpfulness by all the staff - clean comfortable rooms with good ensuite facilities - excellent meals (some of the food no doubt coming from the farm) - ability to understand & speak French a big advantage Rooms rather dark - flies (inevitable when staying at a farm!)
