Pros: Very quiet location, hard to believe one is so close to Paris. Nicely decorated facilities, beautiful garden, delicious breakfast (probably the best I had lately) and very nice host.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Patricia, the hostess, is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent and Patricia goes that extra step with pancakes, fresh orange juice and home made yoghurt. This the second time that we have stayed here. The location is very attractive but very near to the motorway connections. It is a good stop over to Calais and also near to Paris.
Cons: We liked everything. We had to go out for dinner but Patricia recommended the only restaurant in the area open for dinner on a Monday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Le Four a' Chaux is in a beautiful setting. We were made so welcome and everything about the room and the facilities were explained so we understood about the wi fi connections and all the other details one needs to know when staying in a new place. We only stayed 1 night as we're were travelling much further south and wanted to break the journey up. The attention to detail was superb, the top quality shower and shampoo , the obvious top quality bedding: they had even supplied plug in mosquito repellant. I had the double room which was so elegant and beautifully decorated . The breakfast provided consisted of homemade jams made by Patricia from their own fruit and freshly prepared fruit salad as well as the usual croissants and crepes. I was blown away by their hospitality and the overall experience. I would truly recommend them and will happily use them again. Amazing. What a wonderful start to our holiday.
Cons: There wasn't anything to dislike about Le Four a' Chaux. It was amazing.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The host was very kind and went out of his way to make sure my stay was good. He also was very flexible about allowing a late breakfast. The first night he rang up local restaurants on my behalf to see whether any were open past 10pm...unfortunately none of the local ones were. The house was very pretty.
Cons: I stayed on a very warm evening and there was no air conditioning unfortunately so i didn't sleep very well
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I loved the hosts, the house is lovely, I’d love to visit for longer and in the summer, if it is lovely in February, being able to use the little Patios and outside seating and garden in summer would be wonderful. Good breakfast, typically continental, no hot food. But I didn’t want this anyway, I only mention it in case some do prefer a big breakfast, they also knew I was late and going to work so did not have as long as I’d planned for breakfast.
Cons: Nothing. It was lovely and I will stay here whenever visiting my customer in Le Perray. One down point for me, maybe that I hadn’t found this place sooner!!
7.9 Good
Pros: Quirky, clean ,decoration, very good for visiting Paris and Versailles, walking and a lot of lovely countryside.
Cons: Had to travel to eat or drink nothing within walking distance . Bar in the village shuts quite early, and its a bit rough.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly host, lovely location
Cons: Difficult to find. The description on the site should have detailed precisely where it was
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant owners. Room clean and well furnished. Was in ideal location for our visit for the Ryder Cup.
Cons: Chairs in the room

Pros: Catherine was a wonderful , friendly host who made our overnight stop a treat. The dinner she cooked was excellent , and she made allowances for my dislike of cheese and chocolate admirably. One of the best meals we had whilst away due to both the food and company
Cons: not having a proper door separating the bath/ toilet from the bedroom (but maybe that is an English thing?) However it wouldn't stop us staying again if in the area
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Katherine the hostess was lovely and her cooking was superb, especially the lovely chocolate cake. The room was quaint but we'll equipped with everything needed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner Catherine was very nice and welcoming. She offered a beautiful homemade breakfast (fresh chocolate cake, homemade jams, fresh bread etc). She took our pastry order when we checked in which we really appreciated. Also the extra coffee/water/sweets free for us w as a really nice touch! the bed was very confortable. Gorgeous house/garden with a lot of charm!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a gem of a place. My room was beautiful, clean and the host Catherine was amazing. I arrived late after a very long drive from Northern England but even though it was 10.30pm she cooked me an amazing meal, nothing seemed an issue for her. Breakfast was delicious with croissants, ham etc. As I was here for business wifi had to be good and it was. Her kitchen is very quaint, rustic and homely, a very nice place to sit and enjoy her wonderful cooking and glass or two of wine.
La Passacaille - Grosrouvre - Building

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was superb, from the friendly welcome to the tasty breakfast ! I liked the large walk-in shower, and the fact that you could sit outside in the garden to relax. It was, from start to finish, a wonderful place to stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great hospitality, excellent breakfast
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The host was always smiling and eager to make my stay pleasant. The room and bathroom was huge and functional.
Cons: The location. There was nothing within several miles. To eat or anything else. However, the host came to my rescue and promptly made me some dinner for a very modest fee. All that said, if your looking for a countryside getaway away from everything, this is where you want to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This boutique hotel is tucked away in a quaint, very-quiet, little village located in a forest preserve. The room had a pleasant pastoral view towards the back of the hotel.
Cons: There did not seem to be a way for us to control the room heat individually.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous place and lovely host.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good breakfast but we know breakfast in France is limited. Some sorts of bread, jam, 1 cheese and yoghurt. We Belgians put more enegy and variations into our breakfast. But it was enough.
Cons: We booked one standard and one comfort room, the comfort one has a tv and sthe standard one not. No problem but prices for both rooms were the same. Internet was not working, i notified the owner and according to her it worked. Anyway, no internet from arrival to departure and cellphone connection is not good due to it's location.

Pros: Wonderful owners very friendly and helpful. Take very good care of their property.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location with good breakfast
Cons: Peeling paint in bathroom and hallways and slow WiFi connection
5.8 Okay
Pros: The helpful attitude of the staff particularly the night porter. Despite not being able to solve the problems they did try.
Cons: We arrived to discover that the superior room was in another building about 100 metres away from the main building up a cobbled hill. This building appeared to be a disused conference area. The communal areas were not very clean or tidy ( although our room was clean). If this is the only location for superior rooms they are totally unsuitable for anyone with limited walking ability, difficulty with stairs. The rooms are up a spiral tiled staircase with no lift. The building appeared to be forgotten by the main hotel and we felt forgotten as well. Provision of a cylindrical fan does not constitute air conditioning.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building in a great location. The staff were most welcoming and extremely helpful. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated.
Cons: Nothing. Just a very small detail, for such a beautiful place, although there was a kettle provided with tea and coffee sachets, it would be nice to have a proper coffee machine. People on business spend a lot of time in hotels and appreciate and welcome a decent cup of coffee. However, I thoroughly recommend this hotel and intend to use it again.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very nicely decorated room. Room and bathroom (in the annex) were very large.
Cons: Room was too warm. No shower. No Wifi in room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were really helpful (e.g. restaurants tips, bookings etc). Breakfast at the hotel was lovely. Our room was perfect, comfy bed etc. Would recommend staying here and hope we get to return one day.
7.1 Good
Cons: A bit too expensive for the place
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Love the hotel, have stayed before, although it is a bit on the expensive side, it is worth it and the staff, rooms, and breakfast are all great. The town is lovely and it is in a great location. The staff were all really nice (especially Renaud) and they all helped me with my French and suggestions of places to visit. The town is lovely and it is well worth doing the walks around the landmarks (from the Office de Tourisme) Can't fault the rooms, layout, cleanliness, parking and food. Would definitely recommend
Cons: Nothing - we have stayed in the main hotel and in the other building about 150m away and they were both superb
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff, always helpful (getting food appropriate for pregnancy) Very nice garden
7.1 Good
Cons: Old style need to be renovated

Pros: Location was great! Staff and facilities were excellent
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice owner
Cons: No restaurant on Sunday.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly open relaxed wonderful stay .
5.4 Okay
Cons: It was very clear from the first minute I arrived that the owners were not happy with my presence at their gite. I was in the region for a wedding, and had travelled alone from Switzerland by train. When I needed a taxi to get to the wedding, it was a huge problem for M. Robbes. When I slept in late after a long night, the owners refused to leave breakfast out for me. And to top it all off, I was asked to leave the following morning at 11.30h quite rudely by M. Robbes, as they "had somewhere to go". I had to frantically call taxis and friends to come and pick me up as I had not planned to leave until after midday. He mentioned they wanted to sell off the gite and that they had had enough -- it really showed in their attitude towards me.

Cons: Dinner was poor, I would recommend eating somewhere else.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendly staff made everything that was already good even better.
Cons: I think everything was fine. I can find nothing to improve upon.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location and comfortable room.
Cons: The hotel does not have a dedicated check-in counter. And a person for checking-in operation was only one. As the day was the day before Paris-Brest-Paris event, the check in queue was so long and I had to wait for a long time.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location and atmosphere at hotel
7.5 Good
Cons: The decorations in the bedroom corridor was very tired and the carpet was stained.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: All was good, we enjoyed and would come back. Very nice was as well the possibility to play games and billiard. The hotel is located near to the park and allows for wonderful long walks.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was really comfortable and exceptionally clean.
Cons: We had a few issues with the air conditioning- being on the 3rd floor it was difficult to get the room cool. The restaurant was also closed on arrival - very disappointing as we had booked a table and were very much looking forward to not having to traipse around the town looking for an open restaurant... being a Sunday evening little was open.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location in the city. Splendid old building with large exterior terrace. Quiet room was requested and provided. Everything to a good standard.
Cons: We had asked for secure bike storage for 2 electric bikes. We were offered a space at the rear of the hotel but the bikes could not be secured to an immovable object as required by our insurance. A helpful member of staff provided a basic bike rack but as this wasn't fixed it was not much help. The area was used by a large party in the evening and we felt the bikes were vulnerable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location in Rambouillet was fantastic.

Cons: The little extras in the room, like a tea towel and toiletries were missing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Convenient to town centre. Quiet. Accessible. Clean. Spacious. Excellent value. Pleasant and helpful staff.
Cons: Room had a “dark feel”. It was at basement / garden level and the lighting was dim. The noise from the extractor which ran 24/7 and I was not able to turn off, annoyed me more than I expected. Notwithstanding, I would highly recommend the property.
7.5 Good

Cons: No internet in rooms, only reception. No opportunity to get a tea/coffee after breakfast. There are more facilities than shown. Everything seemed to be closed up. No lighting left on in the communal rooms which were really good once you find them.
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: The staff were rude and unhelpful. After cancelling my booking last minute. I turned up to a rural farm and there was no one at reception.. I phoned the lady she demanded payment straight away without being polite. There was no drinking facilities (tap water or kettle!). I was starving hungry, tired and upset at their rudeness. They tried to charge me twice for breakfast during checkout. Never stay here!!

Pros: Ever so close from the Abbaye where the reception was. Very isolated in forest
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The ambiance and location beautiful. Rooms clean and comfortable and thoroughly rustic. Perfect.
Cons: Breakfast started too late on Sunday and confusion meant none at all on the Monday. Also, be aware... it’s a long way from stuff and taxis need to be booked in advance.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The hotel is located inside of the forest so the scenary was quite good but that's it.
Cons: Hotel floor was made with thin woods so whenever you(or your next door) walk on the floor, very noisy sound comes from it. Also, sound proof is very poor so you will hear voices(and floor squeaking noise) from your next door. FYI, wifi is not working in the room at all so you should get out of the room to use the internet.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location was good for our onward journey to Ryder cup . Some may feel very isolated as no near places to eat .
Cons: Our room smelt very musty and the carpet was badly stained . The bathroom was clean but the rooms desperately need updating as the walls are paper thin . We were kept awake by people in the next room most of the night . We had no Wi-fi in our room.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: The breakfast times were not as advertised meaning that on 2 of the mornings we were not able to have any. Eg Advertised breakfast to start at 08.00 but not ready until later .
4.6 Okay
Pros: Surrounding area of the hotel is super beautiful, very peaceful and green.
Cons: Very poor service- we arrived at the property at 8pm(the property had been informed about our arrival time in advance), and there was nobody at the property, the keys were left for us at the reception desk. It was difficult to find the room ourselves, being an old property with different buildings-there was any signs. Rooms were outdated. However the surrounding area of the hotel is simply breathtaking- we loved going for long walks around.
6.3 Good
Pros: When we arrived our forms said check in was between 3pm and 6pm - we arrived within the times but there was no-one there that worked there. A very nice man sorted us out, but he was not a member of staff. We eventually found a cleaner too who was lovely but we got by with my French! The rooms were clean and comfortable but the curtains let all the light in. There was no-one else staying there and no facilities e.g. drinks, bar, restaurant. It was very creepy because of this and a little odd. Having said that it was clean, all facilities were in the room and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was 15 euros each so we did not partake.
Cons: The fact that we were left to our own devices and it was empty. It was quite frightening as my friends were not anywhere near me and there was no mobile signal in the room so one felt very isolated.
