easy to use facilities location of hotel was away from main tourist area
Lovely apartment Check in was very limited
Good clean rooms, double sofa bed & bunk beds. Walking distance to shops & the beach. Off street parking using a key system (£6 per day). Staff friendly & helpful. Reception was closed when we arrived so had to phone up to find out
Everything was fantastic - great appartment at a great price.
Studio was larger than expected, a very nice surprise...
Our room was very clean and the kitchen well supplied with utensils and dishes, etc. The parking lot was large, although we had to pay 5 Euros per day. When we arrived, the reception did not have a record of our reservation. Luckily, they had a room available. Unfortunately, we have had three separate charges for the room and our credit card company considered our card compromised by the reception and canceled our card. I do not know if this was actual fraud on the part of the hotel or was just incompetence, but I would highly recommend confirming your reservation and any charges.
The fact that it was within walking distance to everything. Clean, good facilities and pretty friendly i did not like having to make our beds up after arriving from a very tiring journey. No towels either.
Proximity to town centre, swimming pool, access to parking, good value for money The studio room was a little small for 2 adults and two children.
Very comfortable rooms, good bathroom and handy kitchen. Good value for money compared with other accommodation in the region. Unfortunately the residence charges optional extras for everything from sheets to towels to TV.
Location was good with access to St Malo shopping and food. Good connections to main roads. Kettle would have been useful !!!!!! Needed to close shutters because we were on ground.Did have a fear that we and a warning to residents that closing shutters at night could mean you are trapped in your room in the event of a fire.
We liked the hotel but find it difficult to link it to your set of options above. It is a hotel with lots of character and significant historical perspective. The staff were first rate and serve the largest croissants in France. the bolsters were not conducive to a good night's rest- recommend pillows
An old characterful French house with large rooms and helpful staff. A large, pretty garden for sitting out and private car parking. We stayed three nights and would stay there again. A bit shabby - dead light bulbs, loose sockets - a bit of a housekeeping overhaul needed. Breakfast not good value. There are cafes in the square round the corner for a better value breakfast. Not much choice of evening restaurants nearby but a fifteen minute walk gets you to the ramparted old city where there are lots of eating places and shops.
The garden around the hotel, the evidence of having been a grand manor. the large bathroom and bedroom area, the antique style furnishing.Good off street parking.Staff pleasant. Bit hard to find, difficult to enter parking-gates very narrow.Location hard to find in area out of main St Malo centre- confusing roads.Furnishing a bit dated- faded glory, and beds old compared to others we have stayed in.
Generally good value, exceptionally pleasant management and most helpful. Convenient, comfortable and quiet, we will also make use of the facility again if required.
This is a delightfully traditional French family-run hotel. It is situated in a nice quiet area, within a half-hour walk of St. Malo old town. Very pleasant breakfast room. A bit pushy about taking breakfast with them, but not a real problem.
Quiet and relaxing within easy walking distance to town facilities
Room was large and spacious and could accomodate a family of five comfortably. There were sitting areas and games available (good for older children). The furnishings were period and lovely. Staff had maps available and were fluent in both French and English. The hotel staff said they normally didn't rent rooms during summer unless breakfast (11 Euros per person) was taken at the hotel. The website rate did not reflect that extra cost as a requirement.
The family room was very spacious and clean. Good secure car park included in the tariff. Hotel close to good restaurants. The breakfast was very limited, no variety. The fruit was past the point of being edible. Be aware that breakfast in high season is compulsory at an additional cost of 11 euros per person.
the building is magnificent as is the surroundings. rooms are good and very spacious. about 1 min walk to beach and bars
The hotel was a real oasis in the main town, extremely quiet with beautiful gardens and very stylish rooms with a grand charm. The staff were welcoming and helpful at all times. Nothing to dislike at all
Style and quality of room. Nearby parking Limited parking on hotel site.
Luxurious bedroom with tea making facilities, plus splendid sea/harbour view. Easy parking in front of hotel
We booked a seaview room which was very spacious ,unusual for French hotels. Private parking which is limited but was reserved for us was a big bonus. Would have loved to have been able to order food to eat out on the veranda but the hotel does not provide resturant other than breakfast,
Our spacious room looking out to the sea was the calm we hoped for. It was a 15 minute walk to the Walled City yet we were able to leave that congestion. The bathroom was quite luxurious. There were always helpful people who spoke English on staff . A small market and bakery are down the street and it's ideal for walks on the beach. A leaky pipe in a wall created a damp spot in the rug. However, since we did not want to leave our ground floor room, we simply stepped over it. The hotel does not supply washcloths (common in Europe) so a tip to Americans is bring your own. We did not opt for breakfast based on other reviews.
Comfortable and convenient for my purpose but expensive for what it is.
Great location but quiet - easy car parking - and a comfy bed
The Hotel is ideally situated close to the ferry and the lovely walled town of St Malo so perfect for a good weekend or in transit. The toilet situated in the shower area
the staff were excellent & had car parking, rooms very dark overall disappointed Shared balcony, which I was not expecting & room extremely dark unable to leave a window open at night
Excellent location close to port and walled city. Room was spacious and clean. One overnight stay waiting for ferry.Value for money concerns when compared other hotels we stayed in at close to half the price. Did not partake of breakfast
I like the location (you do not have to battle with parking in or near the old town of St. Malo), the friendliness of the staff and the relative quiet. The breakfast was appalling - and cost 10 euros! I was brought a pot of luke warm water and a piece of bread and jam. I had to seek out someone to ask for hot water + a tea bag to put in it. I would definitely eat breakfast 'out'.
