good value for money , clean and well presented , free parking
The hotel was cheap, the location was ok. Staff were nice and helpful. Room was clean. Room is really small, ok for 2 people, maybe ok for one 1 for 3, but you really have to work/walk around each other. The whole room has a plastic feeling, like formule 1 hotels, but ensuit.
No Parking! No help or advise on where to eat. Beds had dirty sheets!!!!!!!!!!!
The security on the car park we liked, could have done with a few more spaces though. The staff were not very friendly it was as if we were a burden to them. we asked for a non smoking room but were given a room with an ashtray
This made a highly suitable stopover on our way to normandy
its near to our favorite restuarant buffolo grill n/a
Apalling attitude of the staff for a late arrival due to ferry delay. 4 children could not get to the hotel until 2.30 am and the trouble to get someone to open the gate, get two rooms ||(already confirmed) was awful
the only thing that i thought was good about the hotel was the cleanleness of the room i was very dissapointed with this visit to the hotel due to many reasons, on arrival with my wife and child the receptionist was were arogant to myself to the point that my child felt a bit worried of which i would not expect any child that has been taken away for a weekend to go from being excited to being very upset and worried. When we were booked in i tried to get the airconditioning unit working but it was only blowing out hot air of which i and my family felt very uncomfortable, when i went down to the receptionist he did not care and said there is nothing i can do of which i feel is ot the attitude to have. i went back up to the room to also find out there was no english television only other languages of which my child was not very
It was within walking distance of a couple of restaurants
The hotel is well-situated opposite the beach and parking. Easy access to town and shopping. Staff friendly and helpful. Being picky, I'd be happier with a shower rather than a bath.
nice room with balcony overlooking the sea
Accessibility' cleanliness, hospitality; variety in breakfast; decor no adverse comment
Excellent continental breakfast
Good beach location and proximity to Nausicaa Aquarium, short walk into town centre, staff friendly, room clean and fairly comfortable, free parking literally across the road. No curtains in the room so had to use hangers from their rail and hang jumpers up, sea view rooms can get a bit noisy due to the road especially when motorcyclists arrive en masse.
Welcoming staff. Easy free car parking opposite. The room smelt slightly of stale smoke.
Everything according to expectations, Good and budget friendly dinner at Hotel restaurant is a plus. Friendly and correct staff . Parking is difficult, would be good to inform people about parking possibilities at arrival.
The hotel is well-situated on the main road - 1 minute to either the shops or the lovely beach. Clean and well-maintained (from experience, French hotels can be somewhat dilapidated!), with friendly staff. Breakfast is poor value, but we bought croissants from the boulangerie 1 minute down the road. No parking, so it can be tricky when lots of people are coming to the beach.
Large room suitable for a family of four. No Parkiung, but we found road side parking close to the hotel.
Very welcoming staff, well located in this pleasant seaside town. The restaurant was great value for money and the food was good.
Clean friendly staff No tea and coffee making facilities in room
Wimereux is a beautiful seaside town. We visited last year and ate at the Hotel Carnot, so we knew how good the food was and how friendly the staff were when we decided to stay there this year. Having to get up in time to put a parking ticket on the car at 9am.
The hotel was very comfortable, especially for the price, and the staff were extremely friendly and obliging. The location was excellent, right on the main shopping street. We came with friends for a weekend and enjoyed every minute of it.
Friendly staff, central location, handy for Boulogne No parking
Bathroom - with whirlpool bath. Seperate room off ours for our daughter. Breakfast did not look appetising and there were a lot of flies flying about.
rooms clean beds comfortable good location short walk to beach and restaurants easy to find hotel car park very small parking close to the hotel can present a problem breakfast rather pricy for what was on offer
the welcoming reception which is 24hour. the bar too i believe is 24 hour. the breakfast which we had brought to the room was excellent. the room very comfortable, and the jet shower was great. we'd definately stay again. nothing.
Good value family rooms, wi-fi Reception staff lacking enthusiasm (poor recommendation for restaurant - it was closed), poor soundproofing, especially between floors
Modern, clean and convenient for centre of town, easy to find. Small point- secure parking within hotel premisies very restricted. On street parking OK though, but obviously not secure
room was comfortable and had a good spacious shower and was lovely and warm It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room as we like to have a cup of tea on rising in the morning
Good, recently modernised hotel. Cleanliness was on the whole good, except for the odd hair on the bathroom floor!
The breakfast room was small and choice of breakfast poor, just not of the quality expected in such a lovely hotel
Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable room. Excellent shower.
The hotel is in a convenient position for the Tunnel. It is right in the centre of Wimereux. The bathrooms (we had 2 family rooms) are very clean, but rather squashed, especially the bath itself. The beds are clean and comfy. Breakfast is too expensive for a family , at 11 euros per person with no concessions for children over 8. We found a perfectly pleasant boulangerie to have breakfast at 6 or 4.5 euros per person, depending on the breakfast chosen. It's the second time we've stayed there and would do so again. Jan Wilde
The location was good and the rooms were very comfortable There was building work being carried out with loud drilling noises present during the day. Although this did not affect the enjoyment of our stay, we should have been warned of this.
The De La Matelote resturant next door was fantastic. The room clean. The hotel staff average considering this is a tourist destination Price was too high for what was delievered
Excellent restaurant, facilities and welcome Uk tv channels have variable reception dependant on room. Breakfast expensive
The Hotel was good and the receptions staff helpful Breakfast was not that good and the young lady needs to take a lesson on being a bit more friendly
Easy access to beach, meal at the hotel (excellent), great breakfast The tiles of the ceiling of our room moved (with the wind) when the baclcony doors were open
Convenient location. Friendly staff. Overpriced. Whilst decor suggests 'luxury', quality of room was basic and, as such, expensive for the money. The same could be said of breakfast.
Very clean. Wonderful location across the street from Nausicaa. Easy to find. Staff spoke English. Wonderful breakfast. Great but pricey (other than prix fixe menu) restaurant.
Excellent hotel! Great location, great room, friendly staff, good parking arrangements, very good breakfast.
the food no
Excellent staff and attention to detail. Secure parking was also a bonus. The room is very well eqipped and clean. The food in the restaurant was good but the staff were not attentitive, which uis disappointing to say this has a good reputation.
Its aspect, food, and comfort.
Staff very good and helpful especially in dining area and also young man who helped us with bags None save that the exchange rate of £ with euro has caused us to select option above as good value for money.2 Years ago with euro worth 60 pence our bill would have represented excellent value for money
the hotel is now very smart indeed and the restaurant is just as good as ever , which is pretty good
Convenient position, parking adjacent, choice of restaurant . The staff were excellent and as we have been before this hotel created a good impression. Would come again if we are in the vacinity. Would have preferred a proper, illuminated shaving/make-up mirror. Also the duvet was too thick and it was not possible to manage without.
Superb room overlooking the sea, good food and service.
The location is very good and out of the ordinary, and of course the food outstanding
We always like staying at Hotel Atlantic and note each year the tasteful improvements that have been made. It is a great place to relax at the start or end of our holiday and one day I'm sure we shall stay for a week-end. We have been coming for about 14 years!
Very good location secure parking rooms excellent very comfortable beds helpful staff.
Clean modern hotel. Sea front location. Stewed coffee at breakfast(an extra cost for a very ordinary breakfast)No english channels on tv despite most couples appearing English during stay. Not well sign posted from town.
Convenient for shops and restaurants Very poor condition and comfort of the hotel
Convenient situation for seeing Boulogne on foot. Clean and had all we needed-comfortable beds and ensuite. Very good value. Although we managed to park ok, directions for parking shpould be made clearer as one approaches the hotel. This is important as it is in a one- way street and a long detour has to be made to get back.
People at the front desk later on than 11pm Breakfast (paid appart) is not that continental or english
Two little sweets on the bath towles Very small bathroom
It was all we wanted after a long trip - most importantly, with a comfortable bed. The hotel would have been easier to find in the dark if the actual name of the hotel had been visible from the other side of the river .
Plenty of free parking space. Room, bedding and toilet/shower room very clean. Good view of the marina/harbour and Cathedral up in the old town. Plastic folding door to toilet/shower room very flimsy and coming away from the wall - should be a more solid door for privacy. The toilet flush mechanism broke (but this was quickly fixed when we reported it)
Convenient location. Good private parking facility. Helpfull staff. Evening meal menu very overpriced. Breakfast meats and cheeses not fresh.
Staff all very attentive & cheerful & helpful! Cleanliness of rooms. No lifts - not ideal for the elderly with walking difficulties.
Central location to town & sea.Requests for canal/river view, car parking all met.All staff very friendly & helpful.Price very reasonable comparitively. We stopped at a hotel by "Nausica" in Boulogne, paid 20 euro more & though it had a very fancy reception/foyer the room was no better & it's a longer walk in to town. Shower a very tight fit.If you like a late night drink it has to be taken to your room as floor cleaning is in progress.
Good location - close to the town and everywhere. Fairly pretty port. Not far from Calais, where we arrived (20 minutes). The hotel had very good parking. The breakfast was very good - great variety. It was clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower was surprisingly powerful; although if you put too much pressure the shower head moved upwards and sprayed everything except you! The staff were friendly and spoke more English than we did French but that's not hard!Still, had a great time - if you have a sense of humour, please stay at this hotel - those of you who were born in the same era, "Fawlty Towers"! Very, very, very, very, very, very, tiny room! Smaller than we ever expected. We could have had a "wee" in the tiny, tiny, tiny toilet/bathroom from the position of the bed - About 2 steps away! The bathroom door did not shut properly so we were glad that we have been together so long that going to the bathroom/toilet/etc, wasn't too embarrassing for us - not great if you are having your "first" overnight stay with your loved one. The tv position was rubbish. The pillows were flat and gave no support on the verge of being uncomfortable. However, my partner (David) enjoyed the matinee on tv of a lovely French Lesbian film which started at around 3.00pm to his enjoyment/amazement and my "oh my god, really?" Reaction - thank goodness our children were at home with grandparents!
tranquil grounds - peaceful atmosphere no air conditioning
The rooms are excellent; spacious and well fitted out. The setting of the hotel is beautiful The service at dinner was awful, not at all what you would expect from a hotel of this quality and price range. We waited an hour between our first course and main course; they brought the wrong wine and the wrong water. I did complain at the time and received a reduction on the bill, but it should not have happened at all. Why don't you have proper showers in bathrooms, rather than those hand held ones?
Comfortable surroundings attentive service good food very comfortable room. nothing
Hotel very comfortable in a good location not too far from port of Calais and in easy reach of le touquet and burlogne. Breakfast expensive. evening menu did not change during our 3 night stay.On one evening booked for dinner at 7.30pm and did not eat until 9.00pm with no explanation offered!
Very quiet and relaxing, just what we wanted. Great staff and reseraunt food to die for...
Marvellous and relaxing stop-off after arriving in Boulogne. Just right to refresh us for our on-going journey. Lovely ambiance and helpful and pleasant staff. Comfortable and peaceful, good service and good food.
Excellent character chateau. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent room. Overall very relaxing, enjoyable stay There should be tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms
We stayed in the annexe called the farmhouse and it was excellent. We have stayed at Ch. Clery several times before and knew the standard of the restaurant to be very high. Our best reccomendation is that we will go again!
Eating, drinking, walking, peace and quiet
A pleasant ambiance with good food and wines well positioned for the Channel Tunnel
the hotel was situated very close to all the places that we wanted to visit no tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
The central location and the overall standard of the hotel
I am semi-invalid at the moment and the staff were very helpful. The closed garage is useful and the hogtel is well situated for town centre shopping. The 'double' bed was too narrow for 2 people of normal size.
Close to Restuants I did not realise that this hotel was in a pedestrian area and had dififculty finding it in my Car, initial parking etc. after a long jouney
Location and excellent secure parking
It wa right in the middle of town and the bathrooms and rooms were a good size It was a smoke smelling room overlooking a strip of grass for 90 quid. Totally not worth the money, the hotel was not special in any way
the location was perfect for the shops and restuarants, with secure parking it was just what we wanted . i could not see a down side to this hotel!
Friendly staff and very helpfull
Central to Market and Restaurants Car Parking arrangements a bit complicated, because hotel is situated in pedestrian area. You need electronic key to get to hotel.
Central position in heart of the city We stayed 2 nights instead of 3 because the weather was very very bad, rain for 48 hours... otherwise, it was perfect
very friendly staff, very helpful. nice, clean place to stay, very relaxing
Everything! This place is uterlly lovely, the people are friendly (our French is sketchy and so is their English but they are friendly enough to work with you!).....we will be certainly making return visits to Argousiers! nothing at all!
Nice surrounding, big parking lot, kind hotel staff, simple but nice breakfast Rooms not very "fresh"
Lack of a window in the room and also ,on a cold night ,lack of any heat in the room.
good gardens and garden furniture
king size bed.lovely bathroom, balcony no restaurant.exterior appearance unattractive
The room was so clean and looked nice, the location very good and the staff really friendly and helpful
Wonderfully clean and well apointed room. 5 minute walk to seafront, 5 minute drive to Wimereux where there are many good restaurants. Secure free parking (although only 8 spaces at hotel front, an off site gated area is only a short distance away).
The eagerness of the owners to please. They altered breakfast times so we could eat before we caught the ferry.
the clean and quite room
only stayed one night but comfotable room no tea or coffee making facilities in room
Centraly located, easy walk to sea
Very nice to have a garden to sit outside for a drink. I would not dinner eat in the restaurant again. The food was very disappointing and poor quality. Did not like the plastic cups in the bathroom. Very thin plastic and one was split.
The ground floor of the hotel is impressive. The adjoining resteraunt is very atmospheric, very Parisian serving really good food, lots of locals eating there... (a good sign!).Breakfast served in the 'Breakfast Room' was sufficient. Parking facilities are good. Everything above the ground floor is very dated. The decor of the rooms is circa 1980's and the hall ways look extremely tired. Adequate hotel...would stay again just for the evening restaurant!!
Separate space for children's beds Could get English tv channels Nowhere comfortable to sit and read except on the bed - the 2 chairs were very upright. Bathroom toiletries minimal. Charge for wi fi access.
very relaxing ,great evening dinner , value for moneyna
It was warm. Far too expensive for what the hotel had to offer. No bar, breakfast was a joke, sparce, ran out of coffee had to ask twice, ran out of croissant and girl had to run to local shop.
Apart from the quality of service & welcome the hotel has a really good restaurant. Substantial breakfast The restaurant is closed on a Monday
the food from their restaurant was excellent and the room pleasant , clean and the bed a good size.
Fabulous food, nice room and good location Threatening signs in dreadful english about damaging your room stuck on the bathroom walls
The room was large and well furnished. The position central for shops and sightseeing. The food in the Restaurant was excellent, and the Brasserie offered a good alternative at reasonable prices It was impossible to shower without flooding the bathroom floor, but the bath was large and the supply of hot water made it quick to fill
Comfortable rooms, good parking. Hotel didn't appear very friendly - signs up in the room warning that breakages must be paid for & extra nights would be charged if you did not vacate your room on time.
Good value for money. Nice town of Boulogne. Don't expect too much.
Very late arrival, reception closed as by then expected, (ferry delay) but was no problem,as restaurant staff alert & ready to assist. Also had parking available & sorted it out fast.Restaurant still served food till midnight! Delighted.Well appointed room. Know restaurant to be good from previous trips, but never stayed before.Shall again. No complaints at all!
Everything about the hotel was in the best possible taste with a warm welcome, excellent decor, comfort and a varied and substantial breakfast to set us up for the day We could not stay longer
The chambre d'hote owners were very friendly, helpful and considerate. The breakfast was excellent. The bed was comfotable and clean and shower was good. The chambre d'hote was right on the sea front and close to restaurants and the beach. The room was quite small and overlooked a tiny courtyard. The toilet was squashed into an area of ensuite under stairs so the ceiling was low. One bumped head in the night ensued.
We were made most welcome. We stayed in the upstairs room which was very comfortable. The breakfast was superb. There is easy access to the Eurotunnel and plenty of good restaurants nearby. We were disappointed that there was no wifi in ourbedroom - internet access in the room was one of the reasons for booking La Goelette; we did get online in the lounge/breakfast room. There was also very little hanging space - only coat hangers and a coat stand in the bathroom!
staff very friendly and made you feel at home, quiet and quirky hotel steep steps to room minor issue
Excellent hotel, very warm welcome, brilliant breakfast, lots of extras ie tea & coffee, biscuits wine and water etc. A spectacular view from the blue room. Very good value. We only had three nights!
The friendly reception from the staff/proprietor and excellent food
Delicious food. Family atmosphere. Friendly staff. Very clean. The children loved the farm animals. Easy to find - good directions The play area in the garden was a little disappointing
Lovely building in lovely area. Friendly welcome Food, both dinner and breakfast was poor for the price. There are two menus or dinner,26e or 37e. We opted for the 37e but practically everything on this menu that was not on the 26e carried a 6e supplements. In addition the meat was cold and the cabbage waterlogged. The so called tart tatine was a flan of soggy pastry and tasteless apple puree. The only meat product available for the 12e buffet breakfast was a very indiferent rillettes and the only cheese small prepacked portions of processed. Neither meal was particularly tasty and both were overpriced for what they were.
Superb evening meal, gardens beautiful, staff excellent. Ideal stopover before taking ferry / tunnel.
The gardens were lovely and the whole ambience very tranquil. The choice of dishes on the menu and at the buffet breakfast was varied without being excessive - a menu that offers too many choices is usually going to provide something that has been heated in the microwave. The shower head was clogged, providing only a few spouts of water round the rim and there was nowhere in the bathroom to hang up damp towels, though there was space for a towel stand or rail. The procedure for the evening meal was not explained so we sat outside for an hour (not unpleasant in the early evening sunshine, fortunately) before a waitress finally brought us some menus. The meal when we got it featured locally produced chicken and very fresh and lightly cooked vegetables, but served in a way that was more reminiscent of a school canteen than a restaurant. Perhaps a little more thought could have been given to the presentation.
Very friendly staff. Pretty gardens. Excellent location. When we chose to eat in the restaurant, the food was fabulous and the staff very chatty and helpful. Speaking French may be recommended to gain the most from staying at the hotel.
A very nice rural location in an old farmhouse, excellent dinner and breakfast, friendly and helpful owners.
The children (aged 4 and 6) loved the farm animals, and the large garden. We ate dinner on the first night, but chose not to have breakfast, so can't comment. We had a separate (but adjoining) room from the children, which worked perfectly for our 3 night stay. We found it paradoxical that the farm and garden are clearly set up for children, but the dinner menu and restaurant facilities clearly aren't.
very pretty surroundings - peace and quiet - rooms all had own entrances - restaurant beautifully decorated - easygoing atmosphere. no
Superb breakfast.good restaurant menu.general ambience Lack of tv in room
friendly service noise of signs outside swinging all night and the dreadful flashing lights that shone through the curtains.
the owners were very friendly and accomodating the hotel is in the middle of the bus station in Boulogne, there is a small car park at the back which is used by other businesses as well as the hotel, I was not keen on thios at all, also the room was tired and ion need of refurbishment, that is the smallest shower I have ever been in.
breakfast and the proximty to the waterfront restaurants. no lift working
Vey friendly and helpful staff
I stayed at the hotel with my wife and 14 year old son, the staff were very helpful and made our 2 day stay very enjoyable, they only speak a small amount of english but always tried to help us where they could, we stayed for 2 nights before travelling to the D-Day landing sites, perfect location for stop over, easy walk into the town centre, the Nacesia center and also the old town. This is a small hotel, the rooms are cleaned every day, the down side is that is in a bus depo but this is not a major issue as they stop running at around 9.00pm, there is parking available, if you arrive midweek you may have to wait until after 5.00pm to park your car for the night, the seagulls are the main pest, but this is the same in all ports, overall a great location at a fair price.
Breakfast was extremely expensive.
the staff were very helpful
I thought its location was excellent. Central for town to go and eat and shop and right next to the ferry terminal as well, bonus. Also it had parking which was great.
The Manager/Owner was very helpful and was excellent in a difficult situation in respect of the location of the Hotel ie in a busy bus station. At the end of a long journey iy was a struggle to find a parking spot, something that you don' want.
Excellent quiet central location, free parking nearby, friendly staff, good continental breakfast, room small but fully fitted and everything worked
