We liked the comfortable spacious suite in the most idyllic, tranquil, rural position, good food and friendly staff. The use of a personal golf buggy to get to and from the main hotel building was an enjoyable bonus. For a hotel of this standard, the fridge/minibar and kettle which didn't work on arrival should have been checked before but this was only a minor irritant. Breakfast at 22 euro per person was rather over the top but the expense was softened by the amazing view from the terrace.
The hotel was wonderful in all aspects. The room (suite) was great, down to the linen sheets. I did not like the arrangement whereby, because of the gates, the staff seemed to be keeping track of your movements
probably the nicest place we've stayed in, top class luxury at affordable prices. the scenery and solitude was amazing. we will be back!
We loved the location, the views are wonderful and the comfort of the hotel. The staff are attentive, but discreet. It was a very special experience.
We loved the setting: quiet, clean air, song birds; as well, the rooms are a very comfortable size, recently renovated, yet still somewhat musty smelling; the restaurant offers gourmet meals.
the staff were very friendly and helpful. the food in the restaurant was excellent. The hotel has 2 tennis courts and a swimming pool. location is great near to Espelette and the atlantic coast. spain is only a few km away.
Pool Lack of catering for Vegetarians.
Pleasant and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, good food and a lovely area.
Great hotel with good clean facilities, Good size pool, nice leisure areas, Easy walk in to village.
Brilliant location for traveling in area. The room / bathroom was large, very clean and air conditioned with a balcony. We had all our meals outdoors on the terrace which was very pleasant. The restaurant was excellent but we only ate there twice for our main evening meal because the menu never changed. Large private car park. Staff were very friendly. Pool was lovely. There was a very small bar in the hotel but it never seemed like it was open. No change in restaurant menu.
Nice atmosphere, cosy, good food.
We found the staff friendly and thoroughly enjoyed the location. Whereas we were in the country, it was only a short drive to the coast. Not really a complaint, but parking was not in hotel grounds, we had to park in the open square in front of the hotel.
A very warm welcome and a lovely hotel with a room overlooking the church.
Location is fabulous we enjoyed the village traditional events and local produce. Hotel food is only average Hotel staff entered our room as we were showering! Had to take the matter further with management.
Nicest 3 star we have ever stayed in. The room was great with 4/5 star touches and very clean. Well located on the town square close to the little train of the Rhune and other Basque country sites. Breakfast and dining meals were very good and good value. nothing
dogs in the restaurant
Excellent evening meal. Good facilities, swimming pool sauna etc Slightly expensive
Nice place, the rooms very good, wonderful food, very clean. The staff helpful and friendly
Staff were very friendly. The athmosphere was relaxed. There was confusion about demi pension. One afternoon there was no restaurant and I wasn't aware of this.
The staff were excellent and could not do more for you. Disappointed we could not get an evening meal on a Sunday aftyer a long journey, and they need to put the instuctions for the telephone use in an emergency by the phone
Lovely room and facilities Breakfast very expensive at 16euros for a continental. There was a grand breakfast at 28euros. Rooms quite pricey too but very nice.
The room was calming and tastefully decorated reflecting the heritage of the region with upscale but simple touches. Lovely welcome drink and treat petsented in the room upon arival. Cuisine was phenomenal - artfully presented, regional Basque foods with a gastronomic interpretation. Large french country breakfasts. Outstanding service.
We spent relax time. Breakfast was very expensive.
The cuisine is excellent, not cheap. The room was quite small but modern, neutral colours, comfortable bed and wet room.
We read about the hotel in Travel and Leisure and decided to stay here so we could experience the restaurant and the surrounding are in the French Basque. Even though the weather was cold and rainy, we had a lovely time. The meal at L'Auberge was absolutely fantastic. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. We felt at home. Would recommend this hotel to friends who wanted to visit the area.
Quiet location, easy to find. Modern hotel in traditional village. Offroad carparking. Restaurant with good food and continental breakfast. Lots of steps to room.
We were made to feel very welcome by the staff. The room was very comfortable and we could not hear the other guests. The breakfast was good and fairly substantial.
