Pros: The Basque landscape was stunning. The hosts are vibrant, passionate and so proud of their culture and heritage. We booked a traditional dinner and our host fed 12 people easily and professionally, with incredible Basque dishes and wines that fit each dish...the sangria was a stand-out! We would return in a heart-beat.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hosts, lovely house in a super country location. Excellent breakfast and top quality dinner.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was absolutely amazing I wish we could have stayed longer.
Cons: The only thing you have to know is that the walls are thin :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Magnificent breakfasts, lovely pool, interesting house, friendly welcome.
Cons: No local restaurants within safe walking distance, but easy drive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful basque-style house from the 19th century in the middle of nature, with a nearby lake. The breakfast was excellent as well as the welcome coffee and cakes. We definitely recommend ! The region around is also fantastic.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Charming owner , full of enthusiasm !
Cons: The local restaurant gave us a poor meal .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful home hosts, a lot of attention to guests, breakfast delightful, thank you for everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was lovely! A beautiful country location...and a pool for a refreshing dip after a day of sightseeing and driving the back roads in the area. The owner, Andoni was wonderful, full of information on the Basque area and it’s history. The breakfast was very generous and delicious. I highly recommend a stay at ‘Le Domaine Silencia
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Both Jean and Sara were excellent hosts. the breakfast was awesome. If we ever return to this part of the world we would definitely stay here. My wife is Gluten free and they provided Gluten free bread. and when a mosquito bit my wife Jean very kindly gave us some tea tree oil
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This accomodation is the authentic and traditional, beautiful basque house, and the owner, who is kind and friendly person who speaks English very well ,is very knowledgeable about basque tradition and the regione around so it was interesting to listen to him(and useful for sightseeing). The room was spacious, clean, tastefully decorated with beautiful garden view from the window. There is a big garden to stroll, with ducks and a pond with fish, a pool and summer kitchen. I love the location of hotel , it is in the country, of beautiful nature. They serve hand-made jam for breakfast, and the breakfast is included in the room fee. There is a hair dryer, a desk, well working wifi in the room. I world like to note that the owner cooked scramble egg for me in one morning for the breakfast, and it was just perfect. I wonder he has worked as a professional cook...
Cons: Maybe check in-time. It is 17.00 and I find it a little late although it seems to be standard for chambre d'hotes

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, the hotel was great and the rooms are clean and in very good condition. Very nice views on the fields/mountains. The breakfast was also really good. Really excellent location to see both the Basque of France and Spain. Highly recommended
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is very special: antique, where the grandfather of the host lived at the time. The surrounding landscape is very picturesque, and when we were invited to the Apartiv by the hosts in the evening (with their Japanese relatives) we sat on a special terrace overlooking the landscape, and tasted cider (a drink that characterizes the Basque people). We heard the Basque language in a conversation between the owner and his daughter (an interesting experience). The owner has a sense of humor, sociable, and so did his wife, who made us an exceptional and tasty breakfast. We would come back here without hesitation.
Cons: It was a little hard to find the place, but with the help of one of the village residents the problem was solved.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was wonderful. We felt like we had been visiting a new friend, our room was beautiful, as were all the rooms in the house. The view was spectacular. Breakfast came accompanied with grandmothers home made cake. We were treated to local drinks and music and a lovely conversation about the history of the house and area as well as chats about all kinds of things. We will be back!
Cons: This place was amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful, comfortable and with lovely views. The hosts could not have done more for us. Breakfast was local produce and differed every morning. Could not fault a thing.
Cons: Nothing to dislike. We spent one night in the roof apartment and then moved for 4 nights to the floor below, double room. The double room was much nicer for our purposes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great with homemade cake and poached pear along with usual pastries. Classic old French property which was full of character. We stayed in the attic rooms which was great for our purpose and looked in on the first floor rooms which looked amazing.
Cons: Nothing to dislike about the property at all. Bit off the beaten track but we knew this when booking.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice manse converted to a pension-style property. Out in the countryside which was wonderful for us. Incredibly helpful staff, petite dejeuner. I would return.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect!
Chambres D'hôtes Agorerreka - Saint-Etienne-de-Baigorry - Building
3
9.7 Excellent (66 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable airy room with soothing sound of the river. Lovely breakfast. Communal kitchen with outdoor eating area convenient and relaxing. Panxto was not only the perfect host but also full of knowledge and love of the Basque Country which was inspiring.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Pancho is justifiably proud of this beautifully restored classic farmhouse with well cared for garden. Excellent continental breakfast of local produce prepared by Pancho including fresh eggs from his hens. Separate communal dining & kitchenette for self catering, Ample off street parking,
Cons: Low beams in some bedrooms although this part of the charm of the property. Out of town location, not the easiest property to find and easy to miss the sign.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location and a beautiful room. Was a real treat!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel. Great views. Nice pool. Golf carts for everyone. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. I would have loved to stay longer.
Cons: The menu of the restaurant is too limited to stay longer than 2 nights. The staff did not speak well English which lead to a misunderstanding of the half board price. It is hard to get a fried egg for breakfast.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location and building were beautiful.
Cons: The property looked tired and landscaping needed attention. Also, we had asked about hiking options and there was no information available even though we were in beautiful hiking country with many trails. The pool setting was beautiful but all the beds were full of weeds and much of the furniture was broken.
7.9 Good
Pros: Situated on a beautiful hillside with panoramic views this hotel is made up of 5 houses connected by small lanes which are navigated by electric golf carts; great fun to drive. Breakfast is superb and in the evening the restaurant is certainly world class, with an amazing attention to detail. The wine list is equally exhaustive and there is advice on hand if required. For Porsche 'nut's' the private museum on site is a 'must see'.
Cons: We feel that to sustain the 5 star rating the hotel needs to refurbish the rooms, specifically the bathrooms which are looking dated. It would also be great if there was a 'bistro' menu option that could provide a simpler range of food for those staying a number of nights.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good except that flies were allowed to circulate - as a result of which I got sick.
Cons: Service was limited and staff not very flexible. Wouldn't recommend this place for vegetarians/people with non-traditional diets as there is literally nothing to eat except meat and one fish dish. The kitchen which is not owned by the hotel is not willing to adapt to alternate diets and the food service can take on average 2 hours. The location of the hotel is so far away, that to get other food, you need to travel by car at least 15-20 minutes to get to the village.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Internet connection did not work!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was great with wonderful views over the countryside from our room, the restaurant and the pool. We were in the highest building, which probably had the best views. Golf carts are provided for getting around the property as the hillside is quite steep. Everyone was very accommodating, including the staff in the restaurant, where the meals were excellent. Turn down service included replacing towels and freshening up the bath, which was nice. Anything we requested, like a bucket of ice or extra hangers were brought to the room quickly and with a smile. They made an effort to congratulate us on our wedding anniversary, which as a same-sex couple, is very appreciated.
Cons: The bed was a bit too firm for my taste and could benefit from a mattress topper. No stand up shower in the bath, just a tub with hand shower attachment, which is not my preference. Our pool lounger fell apart and needs to be replaced. Despite these minor issues, I’d stay again.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful hotel in beautiful basque country side. The hotel consist in 5 big houses in nature and each guest has your own golf cart to move around. 1 staff take care of you from arrival to departure and the gentleman who was in charge of us was a lovely and professional person (you wait at the parking and a staff comes to pick you up). The room was the best ever. It was like your own country house, in the ground floor was living room with nespresso machine, sofa, TV, WC, wardrobe, a desk and a nice a terrasse with view. In 1st floor(2nd floor for USA) there are a bed, again TV and wardrobe and bathroom. Its Interior design was just beautiful. There is a heated pool and the restaurant, and the service of restaurant and hotel was perfect for my taste( elegant but at the same time casual, not snobbish ). The location was lovely. It was in exceptional setting in nature.
Cons: Wifi was very intermittent. If you just want to check email from family, it would be Ok but if you have any business to deal with or want to do serious research on PC, you would feel a big frustration (so slow and cut off all the time at least during my stay). My husband found the bath and shower without shower curtain was a pain in a neck. It was esthetically very beautiful old fashion bath but without shower curtain, you can't help sprashing water everywhere.
Hotel Restaurant Erreguina - Saint-Etienne-de-Baigorry - Bedroom

9.3 Excellent (401 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Hotel Restaurant Erreguina in Banca, you'll be 7 minutes by car from Aldudes Hiking Trail. Planning an event in Banca? This hotel has 409 square feet (38 square meters) of space consisting of conference space and a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent customer service, excellent location at an idyllic place (Banca) in the French Pyrenees and outstanding dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. Spacious room with air conditioned, extra large and very comfortable double bed and an amazing bathroom, very cleverly designed with a walking in and spacious shower, a designer basin and a toilet in separate units, which means that they can be used individually.
Cons: Nothing, really. Maybe that it would have been of great help to have a palette or something similar in the room to deal with some flies and that the restaurant could close a bit later. They don't serve dinner after 8:30 PM, but this wasn't a big issue.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: "Erruginia", in Basque, means queen. We definitely felt like a queen here. The owners couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating!!! Dinner (and dessert) each night was excellent. I recommend the Little Darn Trout!!!! Our rooms were five star at the least - so clean and comfortable. The surroundings were wonderful. We came to relax and that was accomplished. The sounds were memorable - the old church chime and the sheep with their bells on the hillside. When in the Basque country, we will ALWAYS stay here!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely, comfortable hotel in a beautiful setting. We appreciated a spacious room with a lovely balcony view. The friendly staff were most welcoming and accommodating. Having travelled there with another Australian couple to enjoy their wonderful restaurant dinner menu, we were not disappointed. A most enjoyable one night stay, wishing it could have been longer.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was perfect for what we were looking for. The rooms were to a very high standard although ceilings a little low due to being in the apex of the roof but this made it querky :-) the bathroom was very spacious and all very high standard. The staff were all very friendly and super helpful. the food in the restaurant was of very good quality and very good value for money. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Cons: Nothing negative about this hotel at all
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service and facilities were wonderful. The restaurant serves traditional Basque food with a broad choice of dishes at a very reasonable price. Breakfast was generous with a variety of offerings.
Cons: No negatives at all.

Pros: We especially appreciated Jean Paul's hiking information, with maps to take with us. Beautiful area! Also, Sandrine and Jean Paul were both wonderful breakfast hosts, facilitating conversations among guests at the communal table. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with heat kicking in automatically to maintain 20 degrees Celsius - felt good on these cooler evenings.
Cons: I was not comfortable with the last leg of the drive to the property, 2.5 km on a mountain road, single lane and steep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The remote location was perfect for a chill out weekend. The breakfast was delicious and the host super helpful, suggesting great hikes.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old house in a peaceful, spectacular setting, away from the village but easy enough to find. Immaculately clean, full of personal touches, and hosted with warmth and attention to detail by Sandrine and Jean-Paul. As a bonus, the village has good facilities and is very pretty. A fantastic find, and highly recommended.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great experience staying in the Pyrenees. It's a fantastic house full of character with great views and our hosts made us feel very welcome.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a fabulous place on the top of a high hill. The view of the mountains and the pastures surrounding the property are magnificent. The proprietor was lovely, and she was there to help suggest things to do and places to go. She also loves to cook, so the breakfast included homemade breads and jams from the fruit picked on the property. A unique and lovely expereince!

Pros: Beautiful old house, spacious rooms, peaceful location. Hosts were very welcoming and friendly and gave us good tips on places to visit nearby, unusual room service Excellent local food (we had breakfast, but you can also ask for dinner with hosts served outdoors in a lovely garden in house atmosphere - unfortunately missed it). A truly unique place. Perfect WiFi, excellent view.
Cons: floor and ceiling are wooden and the steps of neighbors from the top are very well audible
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, food, wines, the surrounding nature, animals/pets friendly and bed/bedroom
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Extraordinary. Wonderful. Smart. Intelligent. Unique. The people within, and there seems to be lots, are friendly, attentive and thoughtful. The room is large and the big shower room wonderful. Clever decoration and amazing place. Excellent evening meal with the owner and friends and children. Lovely breakfast.
Cons: I loved it. For others: it is more of a happy 'hippy' commune than a hotel. No credit cards. It does say so; but I didn't read that far! There are cats and dogs.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Owners/Staff very helpful and couldn’t have been more welcoming. The evening meal was excellent and very enjoyable in a relaxed atmosphere. The room and facilities were very comfortable and clean and well-equipped, great views. Would definitely recommend this place and will visit again. Only wish we’d had time this trip to stay longer.

7.1 Good
Pros: Location and spaceous room

Pros: A very friendly, different and somewhat quirky concept as a 'hotel'/'guest house', in a recently refurbished 12th century fortified house. The various owners (each with an interesting tale to tell) immediately and genuinely make one feel 'at home'. The bedroom was spacious and delightfully decorated., while the garden/bar/dining are is pleasant and with a wonderful view.
