The service was good and charming. We enjoyed breakfast in our room. The location of the hotel was excellent. We feel we should have been told that the restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday. We ate there on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was very good but somewhat overpriced. The bath in our room was too deep and difficult to get out of.
This was my/our thrid visit to the Hotel De Toiras. It is arguably one of the nicest hotels in the World and I have stayed at many of the best. The rooms are extremely comfortable, very clean and extremely well maintained. Being very small the service has to be brilliant and it is. The staff are extremely friendly. The hotel and its magnificent restaurant are hideously expensive even in the off season when we go. But my partner and I will continue to visit there every year as it is the most wonderful place in the world to unwind. Let's hope the recession ends soon, so that I won't notice the price!
Picturesque setting and level of service.
the location, style and sheer luxury of the hotel including the excellent front of house service no
Staffs are very well trained and welcomed warmly. Breakfast is more than what we did expect, excellent. Size of room is too small and need the bath tub.
We spent three fabulous days with Hotel De Toiras. Hotel kindly upgraded us from Delux room to a nice Suite. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was perfect.
Beautiful hotel, with attentive and friendly staff in a perfect situation on the harbour. We found it quiet and comfortable.
Lovely situation in an interesting area. Confusion re access to the hotel, not properly explained and being shouted at by the locals when trying to get access.
Beautiful hotel with lovely food and excellent service in a very attractive harbour town Aircon in our room ineffective
Helpful staff, English spoken at main desk.
Its location to the quayside, shops and restaurants. Comfortable suite.Good breakfast.Quiet with the double glazing. Over priced garage (15 E per night!) which was difficult to get into. Receptionists need to be more welcoming and friendlier.
The hotel is well situated just of the quayside of St. Martin. The room was modern and clean. Our room overlooked the front and during the night and early morning it was noisy. Perhaps a room facing the back or the courtyard would have been better.
The location was perfect - this is the hotels main attraction. Check in staff cordial. The hotel had no atmosphere or ambiance, it was purely a place to stay while in St. Martins. No single rooms available, therefore having to pay for a double room for single occupant made it very very expensive. 110 euro per night for bed only - for a 3 star hotel.
The port location is excellent. Staff are helpful and friendly. Best to book a room with a view of the port. No air conditioning in the rooms.
Close to restaurants and bars. Good parking facilities in an area where it is difficult to park
Location and quirky decor We were meant to phone ahead to give out ETA, but forgot. When we got there no one answered the door to let us in and we had to phone and the getting was less than welcoming - after that it was fine
The wonderful accomadation, friendliness of the staff, and location. Very laid back but effecient.
Our hosts are absolutely delightful people who made all the guests feel very welcome into their home. Mde de Beru is a wonderful cook providing interesting and very flavoursome food. The room is spacious and well appointed. The bathroom towels are getting a little tired and should be upgraded considering the quality of everything else.
A beautiful, welcoming and elegant stay. We had an amazingly bright, immaculate, large, well-appointed and comfortable room, the Loft, where we could relax in peace and enjoy the charming view. From there, a very short walk brings you to the pleasant, busy tourist center of the island to arrange outings, choose a restaurant, shop...or just feast on ice cream at La Martinière. Just an observation, really: While we were greeted warmly and had a lovely send-off, there was really no one available to get information from in the middle of our four-day stay. We were pretty much on our own, although they do have some tourist brochures and such available. Also, for our taste, the breakfasts at La Baronnie - Domaine Du Bien-Etre were too expensive and extensive...so we always ate in town. However, we noted that many of the guests did seem to enjoy their large, leisurely morning repasts there.
Proximity to town. Friendly staff and beautifully run hotel. Excellent breakfast
Very good sevice. Goodlocation. Highj quality furnishings. Nice feel to the hotel.
we liked the situation , closeness to town. plumbing very noisy, very aware of other gusets using bathrooms and toilets.
It has recently been refurbished and very tastfully done. Cereal's at breakfast would be a good gesture. Also there was no baby high chair. Every thing was lovely, except the pool was too cold, We have stayed there before and noticed this in summer, a heated pool would be much better.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. For eating out unless in the hotel you will need to travel to near-by towns
Adult only swimming pool / room & general hotel interior & exterior design / fantastic staff / location unbeatable Entering after hours was a little unclear
We were impressed with the courtesy of the staff. We were upgraded to a junior suite as same price as standard room. The room was spacious and well designed with nice wood floors, modern wallpaper and nice curtains. The separate WC from bathroom was also good and the shower/bath was very nice. We liked the idea of having two separate swimming pools - one for adults and another for families. We thought the breakfast was overpriced for basically a continental breakfast. The price should be more in the range of 8-10 Euro.
Extremely clean, very good facilities in the rooms, Staff very efficient A lovely hotel !
Lovely hotel, simple yet stylish decor and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Great location, about a two minute walk to the centre of town/harbour area. Breakfast was a bit overpriced at 13 euros each!!
I could not fault anything at this hotel - it was a complete pleasure to stay there. Staff and facilities were excellent for the type of hotel which had a certain understated elegance.
This is a lovely hotel. The Staff were friendly & helpful and the rooms clean and beautifully designed. The view of the harbor a bonus.
Superb helful friendly staff, room with sea view, close to harbour and bus station No bar
Beautiful room with spectacular views and comfortable bed, good shower. Very windy night and the windows were very draughty
the breakfast was very big and very good, we can ask they bring us in the room for the same price. There is a beautiful view on the sea the pilows on the bed were not exactly clean
Beautiful hotel in a great location, even the rez-de-chaussee room was really nice, modern amenities, hotel staff recommended a fabulous restaurant for dinner The breakfast was minimal for the price, it would have been better with some fresh fruits
Staff were so helpful and polite.A lovely old French building and very near to a pleasant port I could not fault this hotel for what it oferred
Nice room decoration
Grande chambre très agréable, dans un hôtel joliment décoré. Très bien situé, dans l'un des plus beaux endroits de l'Ile, on appréciera les nombreux commerces et restaurants à proximité. For the strangers, it's a french breakfast.
Safe off-street parking for motorbike.
Very nice hotel on a perfect location, a view over the sea and the harbor just around the corner.
Nice little Hotel, right on the spot. Temperature was around 25C.
We found the hotel friendly, helpful and ideally situated such that I would have no hesitation about returning. The food and wines were excellent. Nothing
Basic hotel, but right on the harbour so excellent value.
Hotel was conveniently situated in the centre of St Martin. Staff were friendly and room was adequate. It was beyond the control of the hotel obviously, but each evening our sleep was disturbed between 1 and 2 am when very noisy people were going home - from night club? - considerable shouting and yelling took place.
Les Colonnes is a lovely hotel, right in the centre of the St Martin de Re. We had a room with a harbour view, which had a little balcony where you could sit and look at the harbour and busy (mainly pedestrain) street below - great for people watching! Noise from the busy street was not a problem as the window is really soundproof and you can't hear outside once it's shut. No aircon though - so this might not be ideal if it is too hot. In a great location, very clean and comfy. Loved it and wished we were there longer than 2 nights! Quite an epxensive choice for us.Didn't have food from hotel while we were there so can't comment on that.
Creative decor Size of room Werlcoming attitude Lack of toiletries - shampoo and soap.
Central port location, personal service from staff, atmospheric decore with comfortable room with good views.
Shabby chic sums up Le Corps De Garde. It really is the most delightful hotel in a stunning position
location and quirky interior design, breakfasts were excellent and views from room over harbour were great Beautifull sitting rooms Reception was very mixed and lacked warmth, on arrival at 4pm we were told that we were lucky that someone was there as reception was not manned between 2 pm and 7 pm? ( is this not the time most guests arrive? ) Often the gentleman/owner who was in reception sat with his back to guests passing through. However once involved in conversation was very pleasant.
great location, and history. you feel that the hotel is your home.
Beautiful room with view over the port. Simple French design, light and fresh, not at all a 'hotel' bedroom. Delightful seaside feel.
