Pros: Excellent location in a small rural village but close to the motorway,a really rural French feeling to the whole experience, amazing food and stunning olde world furniture. Madam speaks some English and communication was little problem.
Cons: Difficult to locate no sign on the house, luckily the owner spotted me drifting around the village
Pros: The wonderful cheeses and very tasty butter at breakfast, the charm and friendliness of the hostess and host, and the beautifully rural location
Cons: the cooking and the terrible undrinkable wine served with the supper
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, slightly different from standard French petit dejeuner, with fresh baked cakes each morning. Christine and her husband were very welcoming and helpful, and the evening meals that we had with them were very good. The situation of Maison des Chats is well off the beaten track, but was great for us as there were some randonees which started from the village, so we did not need to use our car.
Cons: We did have a private bathroom, but it was not en-suite.
Pros: Lovely woman who runs and owns the house. Marvellous food, traditional local meals with wine ,very good value. Great breakfast and only 7 euros pp
Cons: Fantastic people
Pros: The hosts were great, the house was warm, the bed was a wonder of comfort and warmth, the shower looked good, the breakfast was excellent, the 5-course dinner, with wine, we had was brilliant - it was lovely to be offered a cup of tea or coffee or a beer on arrival. Christine has several interesting knickknacks and her furniture is to be admired There are great walks around - the village is a historical gem – this is a great placed to stay for the countryside, the ambiance, for either winter or I should think summer. If you can get a room here you are in for a treat.
Cons: If I had to be pickky - nope even the bells in the early morning sounded good.
Pros: Extremely friendly and hospitable hosts, comfortable room.
Cons: A little off the beaten track, slightly tricky to find, but no big deal.
Pros: We were received with a very warm welcome , after a long car ride that was great. The log fire was made it all so cosy as the evening meal we ordered was served. Even though it was only us eating the owners had made a great effort in making it a memorable meal.
Cons: We didn’t find anything to criticise or feel the lack of

Pros: Good plain cooking-very good value for money. Lovely eating in small village with parking opposite.
Cons: Very average breakfast.
Cons: Some of our evening meal was over cooked - had to send green beans back as boiled to mush and had burnt sections. Shower cubicle had black mould.
Pros: The staff were very friendly. We speak little French but had no problem communicating. Very nice stop in a lovely little village. Good
Pros: Breakfast was good, the room was big and quiet
Cons: The chef-cuisiner suggested, that we would have a late dinner upon arrival, and when we asked the menu card, he said, he doesn't have it, and we ordered omelette, which was invoiced the next day 12€ (!!!) per personne! So, we paid 24€ for omelette, that normally cost 10€ maximum! And we were not aware of price! Nobody would ask: excuse me, how much the omelette cost.?? Very disappointed with this attitude!
Pros: Isabelle and Guy are wonderful hosts. They make us feel so welcome and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable
Cons: Getting up early for our onward journey!
Pros: Room and pillows great. Quiet location
Cons: Food first night not good. After acceptable. Too many flies
Pros: This hotel was in a beautiful location but a little isolated. There were walks nearby and it was a good stop over hotel. The food was good and reasonably priced.
Cons: Room was a good size but bed was very uncomfortable. ( Maybe personal choice ). Bathroom was quite dated and shower would not stay in place and had to be held.
Pros: Good food, good service, reasonable value
Pros: Excellent dinner and whole stay very good value. Very well placed for a stop over as only 5 Kms from motorway.
Pros: Location should have been ideal, half way between Barcelona and Calais.
Cons: Location map was useless and we lost 2 hrs trying to find the hotel. Booking.com advised. No hot water when we arrived, albeit very late because of wrong map location.

Pros: The Auberge is an old building in a peaceful location a mile from the town of Massiac. Cederic and Audrey were absolutely lovely people, the food was very good and the room was ideal for us and our dog. We would certainly go back there again if we were in the area, it was an ideal stopover for us while travelling through France.
Pros: Our room was great. When the room I booked wasn’t for right for us (my mistake) Cedric immediately offered us another and we loved it. The decor of the whole place is beautiful with attention to every detail. The bed was very comfortable. Dinner was a pleasant and tasty experience. Lovely to have an intimate dinner up in the mountains. I asked for a salad that wasn’t on the menu and Cedric made me something delicious. In the morning Audrey and Cedric helped us to plan our day.
Pros: Perfect hosts who were very attentive to all our needs. The evening meal was superb and the breakfast was excellent. If the weather had been a warmer we would have taken advantage of the lovely out door swimming pool. I would certainly consider staying here again.
Pros: Location was lovely with great views
Cons: We didn’t pre book an evening meal and there was no room when we got there. It meant we had to drive into town for a restaurant. This was our fault though!
Pros: Quiet location. Excellent views. Lovely hosts. Limited menu but adequate and delicious.
Pros: The location is outstanding the owner is extremely friendly and helpful, and all at a very reasonable price our second time there and will be going back.
Cons: Hard to improve
Pros: Very very nice hosts. Very clean room. Firm and comfortable beds. The hosts have onsite excelent restaurant. Great!
Cons: Nothing at all
Pros: We loved the ambiance, the buildings, the land and most of all the dedication of the owners to provide a wonderful experience.
Pros: The hosts are lovely as was our overnight stay. We will be back another time to stay longer.

Pros: Good location close to motorway with excellent car park

Pros: Super value for money, Good Evening meal available. Very helpful pleasant staff. A Wonderful small French Country hôtel for overnight or longer Walking stays. A rare find thèse days.
Pros: Good picturesque location.perfect for hiking in the forests.
Cons: Trucks racing over the village at night.our room was on the street side. This is an old authentic house, so walls are not isolated....
Pros: Fantastic hosts who accommodated our very early arrival with a dog, in a professional but friendly manner. Evening meal was plentiful and excellent, good value for money and a good choice. Breakfast was good too. The room although basic was clean, comfortable and quiet. Hotel in a beautiful setting with a stream next to it and the river a few minutes walk away. Understood that the young hosts had only recently taken over the running of the hotel and we felt they were doing an excellent job. Thank you for a really enjoyable stay in a beautiful setting, it was a pleasure to meet you both and your gorgeous dogs.
Cons: Nothing really - Would have been nice to have a kettle and tea/coffee/chocolate in the room. A couple of small glasses for water in the room would have been appreciated.
Pros: We had a very spacious and light family room. The hotel has a real family feel to it. Everything was clean. Beds were comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant that served unpretentious but tasty food, typical of the region.
Cons: The hotel is on the main road so you can hear trucks going by at night. Luckily not too often so it didn’t bother us much.
Pros: The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food in the evening is traditional, local, tasty, good value and well prepared. The clue is in the name, "Hotel for Travellers"....this is a small family run hotel in a small town, do not expect 5* standards. Go for a walk around the town and down by the river. See inside the church opposite, if open.
Pros: Family run small hotel in a beautiful location. Evening meal and breakfast great food and good value for money. Overall a very pleasant stay at a reasonable price.
Cons: A couple of chairs in the room would be good. The table was very rickety and wouldn't have wanted to use it in case it collapsed. The outside road was very noisy with large lorries passing through all night long (appreciate the property cannot help this) - we did not experience this noise when we stayed a year ago.
Pros: the town is in a natural trausure
Cons: space very small , mattress flimsy , no kettle for coffee.
Pros: Friendly staff and local people. Very good with our dogs. The food was great and at a very low price for the standard.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike in my opinion.
