Pros: We spent a fantastic time here, while participating at "Les vignes buissonieres en Pic St. Loup" You can see that this is a house of an architect. Everything is so nicely designed, down to every aesthetic little detail. Staying in the private garden, listening to the birds singing was relaxing. The place is brand new, and everything is very clean. Patrick is a very helpful and friendly host, and at the same time discreet. The service is impeccable. We highly recommend travellers to stay here.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location and two hotels in one . The formal Verchant restaurant was Michelin star food and service . The Plage bar had a hip vibe with great views, service and quality Mediterranean food and wine . Also great gym and Spa
10.0 Excellent
Cons: the quality of the food in the restaurant was very disappointing . It could be a reason not to book again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is so magical, you must stay here it's a 10!!!! The room service, the pool, the bar, the drinks, the food, the staff, it's all a 10!
Cons: WE LOVE EVERYTHING HERE it's a true 10!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This truly was a beautiful, world class resort. We had a gorgeous room, cool and comfortable, and very large with our own terrace! The bed was king sized and very comfortable. The infinity pool was amazing!
Cons: The breakfast was definitely a little lacking. Fresh fruit would have been appreciated.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property is amazing, facilities and rooms best in class, hotel staff really nice and welcoming. Spa facilities are also very pleasant.
Cons: We found the restaurant a tad overpriced. In particular the staff could have been more arranging (they refused us a specific breakfast table arguing it was already dressed... for dinner!).
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The gym was very well equipped, the best I have seen in a hotel. Lovely spa, and the pool area was gorgeous. Because the hotel is a little out of the way, we ate in the bistro restaurant most nights, the food was very good although could be more varied. The gardens of the hotel are very well maintained and look and smell beautiful. We loved our room, comfy and quiet most of the time. The hotel is situated a little outside Montpellier, we found it easiest to drive the 1km to a Park and Tram and take the tram into the city.
Cons: The WiFi in the room was terrible. We were studying whilst there and thought that we would be able to use the lovely desk and Mac in our room but the WiFi makes those office facilities useless. I ended up taking my laptop down to the bar area in the main hotel but would have preferred to be to study in the peace of the room. The hotel seems to hold a lot of events which was no problem most evenings but every Thursday they have a DJ night which goes on late and kept us awake. We would have accepted our fate and joined the party but we had to get up very early the next morning so being kept awake was a pain for us. Otherwise very quiet though.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Facilities Location
Cons: Bureaucratic ( charges for use of different facilities felt OTT) Gourmet restaurant v poor value for money ( tiny portions, large prices!)
7.0 Good
Pros: Lots our room dinner and the pools.
Cons: We should of stayed 2 days!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic facilities, the style, the ambience, the room and the amenities - feels like a royal treatment... Kids were totally happy !!!
Cons: Breakfast was a bit too simple. Nowhere to eat outside the designated lunch / dinner time - only room service. Service - „easy“, „take your time“ kind of... But, mostly, very positive !!! Will be happy to come back !!!

Pros: The location is very good as it's close to Place de la Comedie and there is parking available nearby which is not too expensive. The driving instructions on the hotel website were useful.

Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This was a personable, French local hotel experience. Friendly and attentive staff. The little things that differentiate the experience from the corporate hotels... the rooms named rather than numbered, the decor of the room had a personal touch. Light and airy with opening windows as well as a heat pump should that be required. Hard to beat this location... a short walk from the railway station and from the town centre.

Oceania Montpellier - Montpellier - Building
6
8.9 Excellent (2,310 reviews)
Overview Reviews
"This character hotel, ideally located in the centre of Montpellier just 2 minutes walk from the Place de la Comdie and and 50 m from the Gare St Roch tram stop, is discovering a new lease of life. We reopened the 26th of December 2016.After a year of extensive work, rediscover the 4-star Oceania Le Mtropole hotel since 26th December. The hotel successfully blends charm with modernity, with a light touch of exoticism, in the spirit of the great Belle Epoque luxury establishments. Behind its majestic faade, the hotel boasts a brand new area devoted to well-being with a hammam, fitness room, massage and a range of treatments, and the relaxation extends through to the Jacuzzi and swimming pool, bordered by the gardens palm trees, providing welcome shade for the terrace. From the hotels entrance and lobby, through the cosy English bar and La Closerie restaurant, not forgetting the prestigious lounges, the decoration has been completely restyled to restore all the venues former panache and character. The high ceilings, frescoes featuring romantic cherubs and prestigious parquet flooring have all been totally renovated to re-establish all the prestige of this magnificent 4-star hotel located right in the heart of Montpellier. Light is everywhere from the broad glass roof of the restaurant to the majestic stairway in the lobby, perfectly showcased by a magnificent and elegant suspension that floats in the air. As you wander the corridors, escaped budgerigars from the high glass roof are perched along the walls, inviting guests to continue their visit to our 96 rooms and suits. The decoration is personalised for each type of room, paying tribute to the different times of day: the warmth of the southern sunshine, a subtle blend of oranges and purples evoking a stunning late afternoon, or the enveloping gentleness of midnight blue and copper of the setting sun. Pros: It was an elegant, comfortable hotel in a very good, central location in Montpellier. There was a nice atmosphere in the hotel and the staff were helpful and friendly. The pool area was quite small but was a nice place to relax in the sun after a day sightseeing. Our room was very quiet and comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Cons: The shower in our room was partitioned by some (not particularly) clouded glass, so didn't give any privacy while you were in there. Luckily the toilet was separate but if you were sharing the room with a friend it might have been a bit awkward.

Pros: I don't speak French and cannot understand many of the questions.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building in good location for exploring Montpellier. Very friendly staff. Lovely breakfast
Cons: Room was a little small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked this place last-minute and feel like we lucked out. Without doing a ton of research (which we would normally do), we picked the hotel based on its location and price and the fact that it promised air conditioning; we had been planning to spend four days with our sister but her apt. did not have a/c and there was a crazy heat wave with temps in the upper 90s to 100s. The a/c in the room wasn't the strongest we've ever experienced, but it was sufficient; and the location was great for our tourist-needs, and the price affordable (esp. at the last minute).
Cons: We were required to leave our room key with the hotel front desk while we were out, and there were various people we hadn't met at the desk at various times, so we wondered what would stop an evil person from walking up, asking for our room key and being given access without being recognized as not-us... but there was also a room safe for small valuables, so that ameliorated our concerns slightly. Still, didn't feel super secure.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: View from single room in the back towards a tiny yard made attractive by nicely decorated walls; very thoughtful. Very attractive and central location, good local restaurant just across the street.
Cons: Well, they served a stale breakfast croissant to me (single middle-aged female...), while other guests got fresh ones. Not good enough! Although they did promptly offer me a new one when I complained after one bite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location in the old town
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Position of hotel was good being on the edge of the historic Old Town and a walk of only a few minutes takes you to many restaurants and shops.
Cons: Room was quite small. There was some street noise particularly early morning. Breakfast was good but it cost an extra 12euros, it should have been included in the room charge.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Shuttle service
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Swimming pool is very refreshing after a drive
Cons: The location
4.3 Okay
Pros: Free parking
Cons: Be ready to “pay” for night more that it’s mentioned on Booking. We payed for night 94€, but the hotel froze on my debit card additional 164€. Firstly it was explained as “guests to be silent” (and I was happy to know that the night will be calm), but in the morning they said that it were money for room property and they will be returned after it will be checked at 12 pm.. Finally, 4 days after the sum was not unfrozen and we are still waiting for it. I travel a lot and it was my first experience like this. Unfortunately, I can’t understand it. My bank explained me that the money could be returned in 9 days (if the hotel won’t return them earlier), so, plan your travel budget without them.

Pros: Comfortable stay but not an ideal location.
Cons: Breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived late in the evening and were met with a smile after a very easy drive from Montpellier airport. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed. We had a good nights sleep - very quiet. When we opened the curtains the next morning we saw the excellent swimming pool. Several people were swimming but we didn’t have time unfortunately. Would always go back there when going to that area again. Montpellier
Cons: Couldn’t criticise anything. A well run hotel.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: My brother and I only spent one night here. It was basically a place for us to rest our heads for the night and be on our way to our next destination the following morning. So I think my review will only matter to a few people. The staff were very nice and attentive for instance very question we had about the city or renting a car they were more than ready to answer and help. There is a kitchen in the room with an array of kitchen utensils and appliances so if you want to save a little money and cook this place would be for you. the breakfast is fine. there is a selection of bread cereals and yoghurt plus some hot food like scrambled eggs and sausages its obviously not a full breakfast, just a simple continental one but its more than enough for the average person's needs I think. The area that the hotel is in is pretty nice all the buildings around it including the hotel itself have this sort of modern Neo-classical look about them it's all very spacious and clean. It's about a 12 min walk to the older part of town which will fly by as there is plenty to look at. overall the hotel/apartment is a good and basic one. It's grand for a place to rest the head, freshen up and recharge.
Cons: The lift in the building was small and slow making waiting times long. If you are renting and looking to park it there make sure it's a small one because the car park is very tight and awkward.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice apartment style. Balcony to relax on. Potential to cook your own food if you want.
Cons: The room wasn't the biggest
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Studio apartment in downtown Montpellier. We were at first given a room overlooking the street and quite noisy, but were fortunate to be able to change to a garden facing room. The canape folding bed was very comfortable and we slept very well.

Pros: Good location, just a few stops away from the city Centre by tram. Also handy for Oddyseum and IKEA. Great value for money. The apartment has a stove, microwave, toaster, fridge and kettle. Separate toilet and bathroom.

7.5 Good
Pros: Position, clean
Cons: Parking is very small
7.5 Good
Pros: Room was small but comfortable. Location very convenient for the tram, which stops just outside and was only 3 stops from Place de la Comédie. Area looked a bit as if it had seen better days.
Cons: We had a deluxe twin room with a kitchenette, but there was only one glass for wine. More toiletries would be appreciated, as there was only body wash.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: fast booking, clean room and very good location.
Cons: nothing

Cons: That breakfast wasn’t available until 7:30am... 6:30 or at least 7:00 would have been better.

Overview Reviews
Located in Montpellier (Historic Centre), Hôtel des Arceaux is within a 10-minute walk of Botanical Garden and La Promenade du Peyrou. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff (Arnaud) was really helpful. The hotel is located in a great location. It takes about 15 minutes of scenic walk to reach the city center. The room is quite small, but has everything one would need for a good nights sleep. We were told that the bed we got was a new bed and we happily inaugurated it. The view is good from the window. We forgot to give the room key back and they were accommodating enough to wait for the key to get back to them. We shipped the key back to them. So, if you are staying at room 208 you can be sure that the key has crossed the borders of many countries, at least once!
Cons: The room key is HUGE. Still, we forgot to return it during check-out and the hotel staff forgot to ask for it. Had to return it on our expense.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A boutique hotel with very nice staff, a true homely feeling
Cons: Some furry pillow covers in the room were full of allergens and cat hairs.
6.8 Good
Pros: The staff were fantastic. The room was clean and had excellent toiletries.
Cons: No safe in the room. The walls were very thin. We heard a couple come in at 3.30am and then proceeded to have sex twice in a row. We didn’t get much sleep as you can imagine. ☹️
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful, personal staff, beautiful outdoor patio, excellent location.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is well placed within walking distance of the centre. It was better than we expected with comfortable bed and good facilities. We did not stay for breakfast as we needed to leave early.
Cons: Our hosts were welcoming and could give useful information about restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Especially beautiful spacious garden where breakfast can be enjoyed in the coolness of early morning.
Cons: Hot water could have come through rather quicker in the shower (Sunday morning at 7.30 - perhaps I was the first to use it). It did come through after a couple of minutes, nice and hot, so showering was a pleasure.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous inside and out.
Cons: The first time we stayed here, we did not have our giant dog with us. I guess that is why the room felt larger then. ;)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well decorated and clean. Good atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: No elevator. But understandable for the time of the building, may be difficult for some people.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Proximity, vibe, staff.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: i was staying in different accomodation that i ran out of. i found this hotel on booking.com and booked in straight away. i was at reception at 10am and they saw i was distressed and let me check. so friendly and caring. i felt i mattered. the rooms are cozy ,clean and exactly right. always willing to help and i felt safe. a lovely hotel and lovely staff. breakfast was lovely .
Cons: wifi connection isnt great but thats only a small thing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is great. Hotel is clean. Staff was helpful and nice. Price was fantastic.
Cons: The location is great, but the McDonald's next door is a bit sketchy at night. The shower was oddly configured, making water go everywhere in the bathroom. We stayed twice at the same hotel - once on the train station side and once on the inner side. The inner side is much better. The room was bigger and the noise from the station was much less.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: very Comfortable bed
Cons: Nothing
6.8 Good
Pros: Great location, quiet room, clean bathroom.
Cons: Disorganised staff. I checked in for one night to be able to focus on a professional test. It wasn't possible to get an early check in so I arrived at the stated check in time, shortly ahead of my test. The desk gave me a room with another guest in it, so I had to go back and re-do check in. It's not a biggie, but stressful given the context. The following morning I had been given a late check out, so I could sleep an hour extra as I was sleep deprived. While the front desk confirmed I could check out one hour later (1 PM instead of noon), they still called and woke me up telling me I had overstayed. While they recognised their mistake, my sleep was still ruined. The water pressure in the shower was not even sufficient to wash my hair (I have long hair).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location, modern decor and value for money
7.5 Good
Pros: Good hotel in a nice location. Walking distance from the most interesting places in the city. Really close to recently opened art museum.
Cons: If you have a room facing the train station you are probably going to end up hearing their noises during the day.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Located 2mins walk from the main train station, the Best Western was a good option for a short stopover before a flight back home. I was satisfied with my room, which had air-conditioning (yay!) and was in a quiet part of the building with a very comfortable bed and a great bathroom. It also had a small fridge but it didn’t keep very cold unfortunately, and it had a kettle, tv and safe. Not a lot of room for hanging clothes though nor to fit many bags if a couple, but overall, I was comfortable in my room and able to escape the heat to sleep very well. Breakfast wasn’t included but seemed to be satisfactory for the price the one day I tried it. I actually preferred to head up the street to a bakery to grab a croissant etc on my way (because the French know how to do that stuff!). The hotel is also only a short walk to the main city centre, tourist centre and the major sites can all be managed by foot. The old town centre and the great little bars and restaurants can all be found too, away from the main tourist areas. For a short trip in Montpellier, I would stay here again as the price was very reasonable and I was very comfortable in my specific room. If I could get the same deal again, I would stay here again.
Cons: The only issue with the hotel I had was that the area nearby felt a bit sketchy after dark, so I made sure I came home the sun went down. However the major bonus was the convenience to the train station (for day-trips and further travel) and the tram to connect with the shuttle bus for the airport. Plus you can easily get a taxi outside the train station anytime.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: See other review for same location... Clean, great location, room on the interior is much less noisy (train station side noisy)
Cons: See other review for same location... Rooms smaller than expected, shower strange configuration so water sprayed all over bathroom during shower, McDonald's next door a bit dodgy at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the service the location the cleanness it was all good
Cons: Nothing

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nearest highway and comfortable for a night slpeep
Cons: The breakfast has little variety
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Meetings locally and it was close. Hotel was clean and new. Patio was great! Staff was very helpful and gracious. Appreciated that there was a bar and some meal options on the property--good while short on time. Easy to get to and plenty of local cabs/Ubers.
Cons: Not a huge issue, but would love to have an iron and ironing board (even if requested from the front desk) available for business travel--especially when services might not be available (late night arrival, early morning departure).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice little pool, big and clean rooms, fantastic location close to motorway, tram, shopping mall, restaurants and not far from the city centre
Cons: Breakfast rather poor, in high season not enough tables for everyone
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was situated very close to a nice outdoor center with a lot of different restaurants. The facilities were clean and the staff was friendly.
Cons: The price difference between 500ml. San Pellegrino at the vendor machines and the reception was EUR 1.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lcation good but difficult to find even with SatNav because of changes to exits from Ring Road.Good for a 1 night stay out of town with an eating zone nearby.Tram to centre was 20 mins so not good for visiting Montpelier.
Cons: Nothing really in the Hotel just signage for the Hotel and the Parking was poor. Must be a French thing as all our 3 days had the same issues.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The description of the room is misleading. I paid for a room with kitchen. The KITCHEN is equipped only with microwave oven, electric kettle and two paper cups. Soap dispenser did not work.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: very friendly and supportive staff. really customer oriented... plus plus
Cons: cover in the room was not really clean and in general the room cleaning was not the best one
5.8 Okay
Cons: There was no parking place anymore, so we have asked at the reception whether the neighbourhood was safe enough to leave our car in the street in front of the hotel. He told us, although he could not guarantee anything for 100%, that barely anything ever happens out there. So in good trust, we left the car outside. The morning after: 2 of our 3 cars’ windows have been smashed and 75% of our lugage had been stolen. In the police station, they told us that since one year Montpellier suffers from this huge problem with vandalism and robbery. So we are very angry and disappointed with the receptionist who answered us at my question regarding vanadalism that barely anything ever happened out there. The only thing he needed to do, was giving us a correct answer and we would have looked for another parking. That would have saved us a lot of time and +/- 3.000 EUR.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Ease of access. Parking. Internet speed.
Cons: Not so comfortable bed.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good
Cons: Basically, it is very good and the staff are excellent. There was nothing that was bad. However it needs to have money spent to refurbish and upgrade to a higher standard.
5.0 Okay
Cons: We went there only for the air conditioning and it didn’t work. The night manager gave us a fan which was nice but it wasn’t air conditioning.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: A bit dated, double bed was two singles placed together. very simple accommodation
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The manager who welcomed me to the hotel was most helpful in suggesting areas to visit and when I mentioned a building of architectural interest to me, he knew exactly where it was and marked it on map so I could easily find it, which I did. The hotel is most convenient to the Montpellier St Roch station and to the old part of the town which I enjoyed exploring.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very very friendly and helpful. Nice location. The room was comfortable, tea, coffee, complimentary bottle of water.
Cons: The only thing I can say is that an extra mirror in the bedroom outside of the bathroom would have been nice
