Cleanliness, effective shuttle service to airport, restaurant and bar, excellent breakfast buffet, outdoor heated swimming pool, friendly staff N.A.
location, very close to the airport. had shuttle service as early as 5:00 a.m. it is difficult to figure out how to enter the place as it is completely fenced in.
Clean and somewhat modern. Restaurant is not very good, service is terrible. Definitely go next door to the Pullman, it's way better. Rooms are very very tiny and super basic.
great breakfast, nice setting, fun bar, lovely staff.
Lovely room. Courteous staff. Very good restaurant. No
Nice, friendly service and a free shuttle to the airport.
For the price and location it was exactly what we wanted and did meet our expectations. The room was very small but clean. The location at the airport was excellent. The shuttle bus was on time and provided very good service. A wake up call system would have been nice since we had a very early flight to Amsterdam. There are no phones in the room.
Breakfast, clean rooms, convenient, location near airport, public space.
The close accessibility and proximity to the airport and the free shuttle service. Besides the restaurant food was excellent and reasonable in price.
staff are really helpful and friendly.breakfast was perfect.location is perfect.there is a airport transfer so this is very good.thank you very much. no
Room too noisy (outside noise)! Also - someone kept going back and forth on clicking high heels on the hard floor just above us - till late at night !! Very disturbing !
Proximity to the company for which I was working. Friendly staff. The room smelled of smoke.
Quick check-in after a long flight. No hassle. Good breakfast.
Very close to the airport and the parking for the Ryanair terminal MP2, which is quite separate from the main terminal. It was good to have extra pillows available. Would have liked kettle in the room to make a cup of coffee as we had an early morning checkout
The shuttle service was easy and efficient, the room clean, the bed comfortable, and breakfast was good! The hotel is perfect if you need to stay close to the airport.
Convenience to airport terminal and car hire (1 minute by car). Very efficient free courtesy bus from airport terminal (came within 2-3 minutes after calling from free terminal phone). 24 hour clean swimming pool (towels provided)/ poolside area. Nice, quiet clientele. Definitely recommended- our holiday started with this hotel stay instead of later on as you don't feel you're at an airport hotel. Breakfast (though reasonable selection) a bit pricey- 11 Euros per person. Best to book room online as difference for us was 40 Euros when we booked our last night at the desk as we liked the hotel so much (but of course you can never fully tell if you like the hotel until you get there initially)
The towels were old dirty and torn. The sheets did not cover the bed
The swimming pool was a good size and pleasant to swim in and sit near - a really good facility if, like me, you reach the airport then just want to stay put till your flight in the morning. It was also easy to use the navette to and from the terminal. Some decor probably needing a bit of a facelift, e.g. carpets, but in fact there were some tradesmen doing some renovation there.
Its proximity to Marseilles Airport, courtesy of personnel and excellent restaurant including first class buffet breakfast
I am writing because the employees at the front desk were consistantly helpful, professional in every way. When I had to leave at 4:30 AM for the airport the staff were wonderful, drove me to the airport, and helped load the bags onto a cart, paid the coin for the cart I did not have, generously in his spirit. It was a truely wonderful experience when things need to go well. Yes, the restraunt was fair at best. The staff were not attentive, and the food was barely satisfactory. I had filet of beef 2 times there, it was tuff, and I had to ask to have it cooked a little more, and it came back well done, I had asked for medium rare. The bar tender as I only observered her caring for someone at a different table seemed friendly and present, while the server I had an officious attitude.
the remodeled design was very contemporary and beautifully appointed. the pool is incredible, and there is a gym, with a suana and steam room! the dining room was also excellent. we even got upgraded upon arrival which was a very nice touch! they still have some rooms that have not been remodeled and are still in the "provence" style which absolutely shocks you after being in the lobby and hallways which are all contemporary. however, we mentioned to the staff, and they immediately switched us to a contemporary room.
The personnel, welcoming, friendly and professional. The furniture, old and used, the carpet dotted, the bathroom outdated. Does not correspond to a 4-star hotel.
Very good hotel, close to the airport. I received an upgrade on the arrival which was very nice. Comfortable, spacious room, good internet. Nice restaurant and very good breakfast. The service was very good and super friendly. Free shuttle to and from the airport The restaurant and breakfast were a bit expensive, but the food was good
The room was awesome! Sauna did not work properly, pool was closed on a nice day.
Room, bed was very good
Very friendly and helpful staff, very high standard and spacious room, furnishing, "supplies" (bathrobes, slippers, soaps, shampoos, etc.) lighting much above average, excellent variety of TV channels, very comfortable and large bed. Air quality in the room - too little fresh air in the A/C circulation
helpful staff , clean rooms
Free shuttle service from airport to hotel and vice versa, but also to my business location.
The entire staff there was very helpful, and all spoke English. Great breakfast, and decent sized rooms.
Excellent breakfast and we enjoyed an evening meal too. Food was fresh, well prepared and good value for money. Room rather small but okay for a short stay. Had some difficulty with the swipe card to open the door to our room but staff attended to problem promptly.
Staff very helpful - took me to train station.
Friendly staff Walls too thin!
Staff was super friendly, great great breakfast. room was clean but there was strong musty smell. Great location near aeroport. Hotel has a cool bar area.
service staff is excellent the room are not equipped with hair dryer, hot kettle etc.
Very pleasant staff. Dinner was excellent noise from the stairway and doors
quiet restaurant shut
ok breakfast Very small room
OK.The beds was quite good.Moore like a motel. Have only a expensive taxi to offer early in the morning
Reception staff very good. The price is keen. Proximity to the airport. Free wifi. It's a challenge to get to (if you're coming from the airport drive one junction down to Eurocopter - turn round and come back the other way). The room is poky but if you simply intend it to be a place to sleep it's fine.
A basic, soundproof and lightproof room, with a bathroom hidden behind a closetdoor. There is no reception, just a key dispencing computer. My credit card and my reservation weren't accepted at first. When I called, the receptionist only spoke French. After 20 minutes of waiting and calling back and forth it was all sorted out. I got a key for room number 015. The only problem was that the rooms were marked with letters, not with numbers. I tried some locks and finally I got into room 'r'...
No response arriving.Location dreadful Not recommended.Drove parent hotel. Excellent.Stayed there.Clair Hotel. Owners agreed with our opinion of L.G.Canal. No reception.French language above phone.Tenants not look good.In industrial area.Awful area. do not recommend the Le Grand Canal except for backpackers maybe.
I do like the room furnature style, the way of splited the pathroom and shower-room in a different sides of the whole room, also the hotel not far from the bus station, close to the shooping area, butiful view but when walk out side the hotel. The reciption are not available 24/24 only machine is their, i mean no pepol to contact at the hotel face to face.also i do not like the out side of the hotel paint. need to be renewed.
Convenience to the airport The woman who was working at the front desk was very curt and made little effort to be helpful with explaining how to return our rental car to the airport and then get the hotel shuttle back to the hotel. In all of our recent trip to France she was the only person who stood out as un helpful.
Hotel was close to the airport. The shuttle service was very helpful. The staff helped us in English with driving directions to the airport.
The restaurant staff were very good - friendly and attentive. The quality of food in the restaurant was also good for this type of hotel. The pool was clean, well located and of a good size. The shuttle bus service was terrible! On arrival at the airport, we called the hotel 3 times before the bus arrived - we ended up waiting 1.5 hours for the bus and got no apology. We booked this hotel specifically for proximity to the airport only to find out at check in that the bus didn't go to the airport the following morning early enough for us to make the flight -we had to pay 30€ in a taxi.
The blanket on the pull-out bed was dirty!
very cramped toilet
Location for an early flight in the morning
big rooms, friendly staff no elevator, unusual for a 3 star
restaurant staff were very slow. Manager needed to assist them in order to get served
the welcome kettle with coffee and tea. However some biscuits would have been appreciated we were there only for 1 night
very smart and clean staff pleasent and helpful
One day we found the door of our room not closed by key; fortunately everything was untouched....
Best price, large-clean rooms, air conditioned, nice pool, good location for sighseeing in lower Provence, highly recommended No dislikes
Staff were very friendly, our disabled room was well equipped (not easy to find in France) with parking directly outside. The location was in a quiet suburb and the hotel pool was excellent. At the Booking.com price this hotel was excellent value.
Good service, friendly staff. A good choice of food for breakfast. The hotel has no food other than breakfast. As the hotel is in a residential area there is nowhere to eat in the evening without a 30 minute walk into the centre of Istres. A car is desirable!
the breakfast was way to expensive. there was only one small piece of paper,in french that had breakfast info.
Everything, very nice - great. Will book again for the next time. Unfortunately very difficult to find - no signs in the town indicating the hotel, even with GPS was difficult - but worth it.
I like that the garden is closed during the night and very nice silence during the night non
very friendly reception staff.
convenient location cost of breakfast
Pleasant receptionist, secure car park and easy access to hotel The rooms were advertised on the website as having a mini bar, but there isn't one and I had to walk from reception to my room (this involves going outside the hotel, around it and up the satirs, with my drinks! I also prefer a quilt on the bed and hate blanket and sheet. This is not a complaint, just a fact.
the meal at night information about the shuttle did not reach us in time, nor was the price mentioned
The directions for the hotel were hard to follow
close to the airport
Location, directions and secure car park Rooms need updating. Sink very stained
Location to the airport The room had a very bad odor and we had to sleep with the windows open just to get rid of the odor. The carpets were full of holes and stains and you could feel the box springs in the mattress. The pillows were flat and smelly.
The extreme helpfulness of the staff and suitable meals My navigator could not find it
We slept well. Yes, plenty. The bedroom was shabby and in need of refurbishment. The bathroom was very shabby - peeling paint, no plug in washbasin,an open hole in bathroom wall. It was generally depressing and third-rate. The public areas too were dismal. Generally a very poor hotel.
small but competent staff tired rundown facility
The hotel was to far away from Aix and Marsielle. There was no other way to transport than taxi, and that was very expensive.
Simple to find it. Staff was very polite and helpful. Rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. Enough parking place very close to building.
The restaurant is nice. The room (No. 9) had a very bad smell (smoke). The walls in the bathroom were very dirty with a thick layer of nicotine. The bedlinen smelled after smoke. This is all due to a strong ventilation system in the bathroom and a smokers possibility just before the front door.
Quet hotel, with good service and instalations. You get more thant what you can expect for the price
good clean and comfortable
Not a lot! Bed was comfortable and the water pressure good. The air conditioning box existed but had not been wired in - the only window opened onto a walkway and could not be left open. As a result, the room was too hot and had the odour of stale tobacco. The decoration was tired and the bathroom was stained with damp.
The room was OK, the lady at the reception was very nice (although she doesn't speek English, almost at all) and the hotel has a privat parking space (with a locked gate). The toilet in the room is very tiny. You can't close the door while using it....
The location was good and had secure parking. The hotel was undergoing an update and decoration and looks like it could be very nice in the future.
24 hour check in is automatic - you can choose the language and just follow the prompts. Can be used if you have a booking or not. Parking almost next door. Well located to walk around Martigues. Good continental breakfast. 2* hotel but rooms adequate and very clean. Staff friendly. Location brilliant. When you book in you then have a receipt with the code to open the gates for parking. You cannot park in the road itself so will have to park at the start of the road (public car park there) or could park in front of the gates to get you off the road. You would then need to book in for your key and the code. The parking is also not immediately apparent, although we did notice after it is indicated on a wall. You have the parking gate, a bank and then the hotel on the corner. It is possible to park at the gate to the parking and then do the booking in. This will get you off the road! Parking is secure and very ample.
Reception 24h/24h Staff friendly exellent location and parking
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We arrived in the midst of a torrential rain storm and they were very attentive. The hotel is also very convenient for restaurants, cafes and bars and the parking felt secure. We were not told of the 24/7 check in machine outside of the hotel - this would have helped us as there were no staff available on our initial arrival and we were not sure which password to use. Luckily a member of the team was passing and sorted everything out for us very quickly despite getting soaked in the rain with us.
Convenient locaton from airport on route to Aix en Provence No
Wirless internet was excellent. room was missing vital services like water pot, refregrator.......etc
Quiet at nighttime. Nice terrace for breakfast or other use. Wifi did not work 100%: browsing web was fine, but not possible to send/receive email. I tried a number of 'tricks' (such as tunneling thru VPN) but without luck.Breakfast was fairly basic.
the price the location
service and safe parking
Staff was helpful, room was clean and comfortable Breakfast was overpriced
very convenient. good location. very clean.
Protected car park. Very friendly staff. The free wifi The position of the hotel. The breakfast must be included in the price
Wifi in the room worked flawlessly. Nice breakfast in the morning served until 10:30. Room darkening curtain. Window that opened entirely (a rarity these days). Large parking in front of hotel. Friendliness and service of the desk staff. Extra pillows in closet. The use of duvet on the bed rather than standard sheet and blankets provides no adjustment for the temperature: it's and all or nothing situation; either you are too cold and you sweats. Fortunately we could open the window and it was somewhat cool outside. Also it is not easy to find, even with Mapquest directions; more strategically placed signs would help.
new hotel, clean, nice terrace for breakfast, elevator, guaranted parking not enough choice for healthy breakfast, quite small room, no balcony
Very nice staff. My room was really charming and comfortable. Huge swimming pool. Very good breakfast. I will come back with my family.
The staff were really helpful, and very warm. The hotel was recently renovated and all the rooms were different. Our room was really nice. The hotel is situated in a beautiful pinewood park and has a very nice swimming pool. Great price for French hotels. The breakfast like in majority of French hotels was not included in price.
very nice staff, feeling to be at home, nice pool area, ideally for couples 30+ with no children, ideal place to relax, small but nice rooms, excellent ac,free wifi, good rates via booking.com, good harbour fish restaurants just 5 minutes away (with car) maybe the location is not good for people without car, no other cons
The location is very good. Furthermore, the staff was very friendly
The staff were very friendly and helpful. I thought the breakfast was very good. No cost for children under 6, so with 2 small children it was a great deal. The cleaning/breakfast staff was very friendly, always smiling and helpful. Even in August though, the pool was a little chilly. The playground was rundown and didn't seem safe for little ones. Should not be advertised unless they clean it up.
The position in perfect to visit Provence and Istres is a beautiful well-kept town near the see. The staff is gentle, caring and helpful. The hotel is excellent for this price, it is not a 4 or 5 stars so don´t expect luxury. But the pool and the garden area is lovely, and so are the rooms. Plus, we travelled with a dog and a cat and they are accepted anyhow! I would definitely reccomend this hotel. Mostly very little details, but the bed was kind of small and unconfortable, the room wasn´t perfectly clean when we arrived, the breakfast is good but expensive...
Staff were very helpful. They arranged our taxi for our departure.
Very familiar atmosphere, nice gardenview, near a small forest (for jogging). Breakfast buffet with yoghurt and cereals. Very nice room and many details in the hotel to discover and with pleasure loook at. Very nice interior decorating. Hard to find (escorted by policemen in the middle of the night...).Lack of tomatoes, vegeable, read with cereals on the breakfast buffet. It would be even better if there was a posssibility to do some cooking.... not many open resaurants or cafes near the hotel. You must be a guset with a car.
The Manager, Gerald, was fantastic - so helpful and informative and all the staff were pleasant. Most of the parking was shaded by open garages or trees. The room for 4 consisted of 2 bedrooms & a jacuzzi bath in bathroom - fantastic.
Staff, Cleaniness Decor in some parts of the hotel
the surrounding environment was nice but the hotel lacked character. mini bar was empty. No waste paper basket in room,
A pretty terrace. Evening meal good but service slow Breakfast poor - hot breakfast was always cold. Milk tasted sour. Machine coffee. Self service on brown trays not very attractive. Bedroom uninviting, windows not cleaned recently, net curtain missing. Pool shower not working, general air of lack of care for builing and clients. Too many steps and difficult parking
The village, the people and the food. No
Beautiful building and facilities. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant was great, with nice view outside. Hotel is a little out of the main town shops and restaurants but is peaceful so 6 of 1 and half a dozen of another.
very good and quiet place, close to city centre
Good location, close to motorway and still in centre of Martigues. Hotel needs freshing up. Basic breakfast.
The air conditioning unit was leaking water down the wall when turned off. Room on ground floor, lots on ants in the room.
Nice view from the hotel and room. Nice outdoor place for relax and eating. Nice swimming pool. Some distance to the town, but easy for us with cycles. Some traffic(highway)and industrial noise in our room.
Staff were helpful. Pool very small and too near rooms at ground level. No privacy so did not use it.Hotel located on a very steep hill and not near centre of town or port.Quite basic hotel.
Food was excellent, staff very friendly Wireless internet was down for most of the three days, had to go to the ibis hotel down the road instead, which may be considered for future visits
Friendly Staff, and adequate accommodation. The only thing wrong was that the air conditioning unit directed the cool air right over the bed.
La douce France still exists, great Hotel with a very kind staff. Good and clean rooms, no-nonsense and very old fashioned but great atmosphere Also the private parking for us is a big plus We work a lot in the Marseille area and we will surely return to this place.
No No-smoking rooms available
Flexibility, Friendly & Parking ability French Prices (too high), lack of comfort
Reception staff were friendly and helpful. You need to be up early to get a hot shower as there would seem limited hot water available. Double bed was two singles pulled together - bed not very comfortable. Over charged on check-out. Had to leave early (stayed 3 out of 4 nights) not willing to let off one nights payment for night not stayed. Have to wait forever to get taxi - waited 45 minutes for taxi to arrive for trip back to airport.
simply a good hotel for its value
Our room was comfortable and had all we needed. The breakfast was good. Easy walk into the town.
location and locked carpark needed several repairs in bathroom and very noisy.
