Clean, easily found, secure parking When We phoned the hotel on the day of arrival, to say We would be late, I was told that there was no room available for 'me'. Luckily when we actually arrived, there was a room. But it was worrying for the rest of the journey. Limited opening of the bar and restaurant.
Right next to highway - very convenient for quick overnighter. Too far away from the main town - which was much more interesting and a fair walk away. For the price, it was a basic room and staff can't speak English - so brush up on your French!
Very good location, lovely feel to the place. Right next door to Buffalo grill.
The location was excellent as it was directly on our route back to the UK. Easy to find The reception and bar closed at 7.30 pm, and the staff went home, although there was a telephone number you could ring if required. Although the room and sheets were clean, the pillows sweaty! (Horrid)
onsite restaurant and bar. Good location on main road Bathrooms somewhat cramped and basic, but fully functional.
Cheerful and helpful staff Easy to find Pleasant breakfast Claustraphobic room smallest bathroom ever seen!
Convenient as an overnight stop on a long journey. Good parking within chain fence. Quiet. Entrance area and doors off all rather confused and looking somewhat "past it"
Very helpful and friendly manageress.
Very good reataurant, good value for money. A rather unpleasant smell in one of the rooms.
Very quiet room in spite of nearby main road, and restaurant in walking distance.
This hotel is located on the river, right across from the old city center. It's a 5-minute walk to everything. The place is a normal, clean 3-star French hotel. The staff were very pleasant, and their suggestions of things to see guided us to some out-of-the-ordinary events. No complaints at all.
Almost nothing maybe the breakfast This hotel has not to be according me a three star due to a smal room and poor decoration
Nice hotel in very good location. Short walk to shops & bars in lovely part of old town. We were able to park off the road in a large garage at the rear which was very convenient.
Friendly staff and private parking No mention that a code was needed to get into the hotel late in the evening
Staff were very pleasant, breakfast was good.Decor is probably best described as being "mixed styles";overall a pleasant experience.
Comfortable, good bathroom, adequate space. Courteous reception. On-site parking fine. Good location very near historic center. Hard to know where to park when arriving.
Location was excellent & room size good. What is it with a certain type of French hotel and the en suite wc? This was another one where the wc is separate in a tiny room right next to the bed with difficulty closing the door due to knees in the way.
location 1st room givin was very poor
Good option value-for-the-money-wise.
Good reception, easy parking, well located. Breakfast was fine and all worked very well.
Hotel is stylish with a nice relaxed atmosphere and good food Rooms are baking hot as no windows in upper mezanine levels and no air conditioning - do not stay in these rooms in the summer!
The room was good size and very clean with nice colours; there is no door between the bathroom and the room- it makes it a little special, very nice shower. No air conditioning. Some rooms with no door between the toilet and the room....yaky , yaky yak. The staff - quite OK.
Excellent location in the historic center, quite noiseless in the night.
very friendly and helpful staff, excellent resturaunt, room facilities very good and great hotel decor.
Moe than adequate french country hotel - no aircon so might be hot in august - bar downstairs so sleeping with open window less good option - good honest food, only problem was we had early start and they wouldnt serve breakfast for us early - in the light of what passes for service in france this is pretty minor!!!!
The hotel was clean and roomy, well located and the staff were very helpful. No air conditioning was very dissappointing.
We travel quite a bit. Booked two rooms. This was a very nice hotel. Thought at first that the small room was ours since in was large, until we got the the second room which was larger yet...dinning table area, desk area smartly designed to allow expanding surface area. Large bed was very comfortable, not rock hard or too soft. Food was excellant, as was the presentation....Price was quite fair.. some of the best meals in France, nice Chief is onsite and took a personal interest in our dinning.....Rooms were very up todate, kitchen..fully stocked..plates glassware.. with mini frig, dishwasher, microwave,cooktop... bath, new tower shower stall..walkin and roomy, hairdryers, closet for your personal items, web access... best with a network cable (available at the desk) or wireless and sound proof..windows, doors and hall door way design ( in compartments). Best rooms at the top have a nice view of the castle. Town was very nice, with shops and sites such as the old castle and river walks, but at about 7pm it can become quite closed up, best to be out and about early. Wish this owner had more hotels under his control in France because I would stay in them !! not a thing. I will stay there again. Excellant for both business or family travel.
goood room, large bathroom, excellent restaurant in trhe hotel, hotel garage available
Good food, well served. Difficult to find even with Sat/nav. front door is not in the named street. Parking difficult - about 100 metres away - round a one way system virtually no parking outside hotel to unload/load luggage. Adequate but barely three star. no air conditioning.
Conveniently located in centre of nice town, restaurants nearby, and good countryside within easy reach.Characterful hotel, just as we remember France of old. Very friendly and welcoming owners. No problems
The hotel staff was wonderful. Parking was easy. The restaurant was great. Overall it was a great value for the money in a very cute little town. The room smelled a bit of smoke. Also, we were there in the off season (late November) so the desk was not open 24 hours... in fact nothing was. They opened the restaurant only when we requested it. We had to have the door codes and the cell phone number of the receptionist to call for service. It wasn't really a bad thing but a bit unusual and may be difficult for travelers in the off season who don't speak French.
Dining Good for the price
Hotel owner speaks perfect English! She is nice and friendly and will help in any case, if she can. I'm glad to see what a big work this family does to make this place even more nice.
The staff were very hospitable and the hotel very "homely". No! Although the decor was a bit "tired", th value for money was excellent.
The location, the area and the countryside, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was extremely good
The building was lovely from the outside. We were given the key to a room that was already occupied, our room was shabby and the bathroom had not been properly cleaned. Breakfast was indifferent with weak coffee.
Lovely quiet, peacful setting in the day. V expensive food & drink Breakfast 11.50€, poor selection with no choice 25cl beer 5€!!!!!!! Room left unlocked by cleaner Towels not changed Shabby decor
Location, views Not enough coathangers, drawers or storage. Double booked on our last night and had to move but did help us by phoning hotel for us but we organised additional room at our second hotel
Marvellous traditional French cooking
A wonderful old hunting lodge deep in the forest with beautiful grounds and great food. A perfect place to unwind after a long days drive. The bedroom was comfortable although in need of some tasteful modernisation.
Lovely location, quiet with lovely gardens Breakfatst at ?1.50 per person for bread and juice and tea is too much
The hotel has a very lovely and fabulous location in a forest area, nearby is a small lake. At night only some owl hoots could “disturb” your sleep. In the restaurant you can have warm meals till 22:00. The building is some kind hunting lodge built in the 18th century – so you experience little touch of ancient ages. Hotel staff is very mastered in speaking English. The breakfast is a standard French petit-déjeuner with coffee, croissants and some butter. But the service personal was pretty kind and could organise some cheese and cooked ham. A little bit vegs woul be pretty fine.
a quiet hotel with an understated sophisticated edge without being snobbish.A very relaxing place to stay good for overnight stops or as a base to explore the region. Excellent meal (but please relaise that the very good food takes time to prepare!) V good continental breakfast also
Lovely location, friendly helpful staff, nice and quiet. Managed to negotiate a 10% reduction on cost for half board (eg price of room, breakfast and menu added together minus 10%) Room ok but bathroom a bit chatty and rundown. Breakfast a bit expensive at €11.50 for continental
A beautiful, historic building with wonderful furnishings, particularly in the dining room. The food was gourmet - an excellent meal of fresh ingredients prepared and served with flair and imagination.
