Very quite, cleanness, beautiful nature Would be nice if there was a bathtub
The restaurant was perfect! And delicious! Compared to the restaruant the hotel room was ordinary.
Clean, comfortable with excellent food. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Our suite was very comfortable and spacious and the hotel deserves its inclusion in the 'Relais de Silence' brochure. Whilst the restaurant is certainly smart and the food undoubtedly well-cooked and presented, the choice is from 3 fixed price menus, all dominated by fish. The only meat choices were quail and sweetbreads, which are not to everyone's taste.
nice hotel, very nice spacious room, poor common rest areas, staff less than friendly, parking excellent, location alittle remote, did not have dinner there because of staff and language diffficulties staff attitude
Good size comfortable room.Pleasant location. mold on shower tiles
Excellent location with easy access to local attractions. Our room was spacious, spotless and, at Euro 105/night, most reasonably priced. The food, service and ambiance in the restaurant were all first class. The village setting was charming and much enjoyed by ourselves and our dog. In sum, a great small country hotel in every respect. Nothing at all!
Very quite and peacefull stay. Would use this hotel again. No Complaints.
very good location ,exelent food ,clean and good service no
The ambience was excellent. The evening meal was absolutely delicious and the service was pleasant and effecient.Keep the chef! No.
Location is fantastic, and the hotel staff friendly and helpful
Very easy to find - great location. Very nice staff.
The hotel is right in the centre of Tours so very convenient for sight-seeing, restaurants and shopping. It is also close to the train and bus stations. It was clean and comfortable. Parking is very limited - there is a public carpark nearby but it was very full and we were lucky to get a space. The room we had was comfortable but being at the top of the hotel, it was dark with only one small window - a draw back on a sunny day.
Staff - very friendly and helpful
Great staff. Great location. Seems to be run down and needs a face-lift internally.
Superb staff - some of the friendliest I´ve encountered. Breakfast finished at 10; restaurant closed on sundays (!)
Style of the hotel especially the bedroom. The availabilty of the garage eas a bonusu No
The location was just where we needed to be. The front desk was very professional and helpful.
Location is central: close to the railway station, but far enough not to hear and see those people grouping near the station. Also very close to tourist office, old town and Hotel de Ville (just in front). The room was great - spacious, with a comfortable sofa in front of tv, a desk, enough room to even have a morning gymnastics)). It was very quiet which is definitely a plus! Beautiful lobby. The price af breakfast 18 euros is too high.
Centrally located and very pleasant surroundings
The hotel room is newly renovated. It located very close to the Train Station (within 10 minutes walk) and the shopping centre (within 3 minutes walk) of Tours.
Nicely designed interior (more than we expected and were pleased). Friendly and helpfull staff. Good value for money. Nice location. Was hard to find, it will be useful to have more signs on the way.
The apartment was very modern, very comfortable, very new and well equiped for self catering holidays. It is an ideal location for visiting the Castles of the Loire Valley, canoeing on the Loire or Cher rivers, or exploring by bicycle. The resort is not finished yet and therefore on-site facilities are, at present, very limited. However, the facilities of Amboise are only 3 to 5 minutes drive from the resort.
Quite good value/price ratio which makes all the bad sides look unimportant. New development, clean and new furniture. Reasonably sized rooms. Convenient location if you want to visit chateaux by driving. Kitchenette with microwave and dishwasher. Underdeveloped site (Oct 2010). Parking quite far from accommodation (from 300 to 500m). The apartment had a small kitchenette but there were absolutely no utensils or even a glass or cup for tea/coffee. I had to beg at the reception to lend two wine glasses which one would consider obligatory in a French hotel.
the location and the comfort
The apartment layout with quite well equipped kitchen was great. Quite comfortable and plenty of room. The location. It is a bit far from Amboise and is a little inconvenient if you want to nip into town. Also a little sparse, but obviously new, so will likely improve in facilities and layout.
Very clean appartments with good services No English channels on the tv
Good for families. Apartments are amazing inside, everything you need is in them. The grounds are no way near completed yet - we read reviews saying work was underway but we thought the work would have been completed by now but it's no-where near complete yet.
Note that there is no restaurants at the hotel.
The cost of the room reflected the location and quality of the facility, Suitable for a budget stay in a family type trip. The location is out of the town of Amboise - so a car is needed to do any activities. The facility is unfinished, drains are open, footpaths not sealed, roads have potholes, Walkways to front door were not sealer, so the mud from outside finished uo inside. The furniture is pacrical, but poor quality. Privacy for each couple was a problem. Adjoining beedrooms not a good idea (noisy)
The studio apartment rooms exceeded all our expectations for size, comfort and fixtures & fittings. The fact that you can't park outside the rooms adds to the peace and quiet of the place. We did not use the restaurant but bread and croissants are available to order from reception at extrememely reasonable prices. We found nothing to dislike
Nice hotel, very easy to find and convenient. Staff pleasant and good parking The air conditioning wasn't working
The hotel is located not far from train station and a short walk away from the town centre which is great
The great location to the city centre and near Tours railway station. The staff was helpful and free use of the internet.
Excellent breakfasts and very helpful staff, especially the receptionists The shower tended to spray over the bathroom floor.
Our room was warm, quiet and comfortable. The hotel was in a side street very close to the station, but not affected by noise from it. Being on the fourth floor, there was a small balcony in the mansard; although the view was only of roof-tops, this might have been beneficial in warmer weather. Access to the lift was easy, and there was a spacious reception and breakfast area. There was a wide range of choices at the buffet. The dark decor in the room would not be to everyone's taste. Be warned - we were unable to use the underground car-park because of the restricted headroom. On enquiring, we were told that it was 2m, but our vehicle at 1.97m certainly would not fit, and so we were obliged to feed a fairly greedy parking meter a short walk from the hotel.
Very good rooms and breakfast. Do not be put off as you approach the hotel because it looks small and in a back street. It is actually large and in the heart of the city (5 mins walk). Would love to go back to Tours and would definitely stay here again. Watch the car park - it fills up and space is very tight for manoevering - be first in and last out :)
Found the hotel very central with easy access to tourist office shops and restaurants. found directions to hotel not quite exact it would have been handy to know that the train station was beside the hotel & would have been much easier to find. Tea and coffe facilites in the room would also be a great idea.
Good hotel with reasonable price. Very nice breakfast, close to the train station.
Helpful staff with onward booking confirmation etc. Street noise from apartments opposite, so we had to use double glazing to sleep
- very clean, newly refurbished room - quiet, private park and garage - did'nt see facilities e.g. sauna as advertise - rather pricey for size of room
Hotel de charme Extralarge bed not very comfortable. Relatively small breakfast room (for the size of the hotel).
Having a pool to cool off in and relax made the stay at this hotel enjoyable For what was on offer at breakfast we found poor in comparison to other hotels we stayed in and expensive at 10 euros per head.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was a particularly charming place and next time I shall definitely request Room 6 I found that everything met, or exceeded, my expectation
lovely place. would stay there again.
It is beautiful hotel...more like a B&B in terms of its charm, comfort, and peace and quiet. It has a wonderful garden area. There is also off-street parking protected behind locked gates at night. The staff was very welcoming and helpful in providing tourist advice. The Hotel is very close to shopping and tourist attractions including the historic châteaux. Couldn't recommend it more. There was nothing we didn't like about this hotel.
The grounds were very picturesque and the staff were very helpful. It seemed like an ideal place to stay a few days to relax and soak in Amboise Our room did not afford much privacy as it faced on to the driveway and entrance.
The room is well appointed. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is great.
It is a beautiful place to stay. I would go there again for sure. The soap smelled funny - for real.
This is a truly charming hotel with staff who were friendly and helpful at all times. It was a great base for touring the Chateaux Nothing
Tours! Great Location, Breakfast pretty good value and decent offering, Once you accept the basics the room and the amenities facilities etc. are fair. Housekeeping in Tours was good and efficient. Parking was good too and the Five Euros spent for the basement was well spent. On arrival we found that one of our rooms was not booked even though I had received the conformation e mail just that day. The young lady in reception could not find the third room booking, but she was very helpful. a room was given for the night at Mercure whose receptionist was seriously in need of some friendly training. She was grumpy and rude and we think she just had a bad day for which our friends were the victims a Receptionist later in the day Some telephone system on each floor even since it is not possible in rooms. In case you have an emergency there is nothing in your hotel after the receptionist leaves, no telephone no connection no nothing. windows! It was seriously hot int he rooms and we could do nothing to open the window which only opened two inches or so. I know that the railway tracks make lots of noise which is why you must have two double glazed windows, but if only this can be opened a bit to get in more ventilation.
Clean, good location, wifi only in lobby and it closed early evening
No facility for storing soap & shampoo in the shower. Toilet seat wrong size therefore constantly moved around.
Best price offered ever matching perfectly for all backpackers! Not actually, but, we expect if the hotel'd provide guests more facilities as well as something's like the bathroom stuffs, that would be better!
Very comfortable hotel with friendly staff
Clean, always good to be able to say that, comfortable, good value for money, convenient location for town centre, helpful staff.
Close to the station Unkind staff
The access to WI-FI is only at the reception but not at the rooms. The noise from TGV is "something"...
room good wasnt as close to centre but easy 20min walk
Most enjoyable stay, staff were pleasant and accomodating, secure parking a definate plus... wifi another plus. Would definitely stay again. Would have been nice if located closer to restaurants and shops.
pleasant staff too far out of town with no bar or restuarant facilities, just like a travel lodge. 25 minute walk into town
Clean, fresh hotel in excellent location.
Very pleasant and clean hotel. Reception staff offered without prompting to store our bikes in their garage.
Reception staff were very helpful and friendly, room extremely comfortable, clean and well designed Overpriced breakfast - said to be American, but only hot food was sausages and they had run out of scambled egg.
The management was very helpful to us in finding fuel for our car during a time when there was a problem obtaining it. We booked a room for three people even though there was on only two of us. It was just right.
room comfort, quiet, access late at night without problem, friendly staff all rooms are no smoking. I like my freedom to do what I like in my own private hotel room
The location (Amboise) no
Very comfortable beds, excellent breakfast, helpful staff, quiet location
Good value for money. Good location for city centre. Good parking facilities. Rather tired decor
Only 5 to 7 minutes walks to the old part of Tours.
Convenient to locate; secure parking; lift to all floors Further from the most interesting (touristique) parts of Tours than we had realised; lift does not descend to basement car-park
It has a garage and it has wifi (but ... read on) The location is way too far from the cute city center. The hotel has wifi, but to get a password you need to register with your e-mail address and then check your mail before you get access (duh!). The girl at the desk didn't really seem to see the problem, but eventually just gave me a password.
The secure garage and the helpful receptionist. Only that on the night we were there the restaurant was closed for a function.
Excellent safe parking Very basic
Within walking distance of old town centre (10-15 minutes). The room was small and in need of repainting, the carpets old and smelly. It is generally in need of refurbishing from the ground up. Not cheap as breakfast is extra at 8,50€ per head.
The location. You can walk to the city centre from the hotel. Very handy for visiting. We had booked a doiuble bed and ask for a double bed rather than twin beds. We got twin beds pushed beside each other, at every move, they were moving. Not very comfortable. The price for car park - 7 euro - Thankfully you can park for free in the area.
good location, fair cost
Drunken guests screaming in restaurant, foyer & rooms went unchecked by staff. No sound insulation - you can hear guests in room above going to the toilet! We got up & left at 4.00 am. Staff ignored noise and were disinterested in our complaint. Room was utterly basic, grubby and the bed uncomfortable. We paid £75 for the night (breakfast not included) & £11 for 1 beer & 1 small wine
Friendly staff, clean room, nice selection of breakfast.
Nice clean comfortable room with good size bed Not much in the way of seating. Two nice armchairs would have made all the difference
excelent value for money - great evening food.........great breakfast ( but a bit expensive at 12.50 euros.) ............. need better directions to locate hotel - but receptionis t excelent at directing us to the building - !!!
Quiet location and close to motorway. Too expensive for standard of rooms and especially for meals
This was the first time we had used Mercure and it was superb, we shall definitely use them again. We ate outdoors in the lovely outdoor space and the staff were so friendly. We had booked the wrong date, and yet they immediately found us a nice room and away from where we might have been disturbed by a wedding party.
easy to find, good room The resturant staff were very unprofessional ,rude and did not make myself or my 7 guest very welcome, we arrived at about 2000 hours and it became obvious that the resturant staff didn't want to work any later!
All staff were very friendly, and willing to help
Staff were really friendly even though we arrived really late. Good breakfast and great location for touring the Loire. Good range of information with in hotel about surrounding chateaux. Also useful map on ale from reception.
Everything was good. The staff spoke good English and as with a lot of French hotels we did NOT get that sense of being unwelcome because we were English. There was very little to fault. If anything the prices are a bit on the high side but the quality is certainly there. We would certainly use this hotel again.
Had good quality bikes for rent, staff was helpful and friendly, other than bar, public spaces very nice. Just over 1 km walk into town from hotel. Expensive breakfast not included in room charge. Better rates, including breakfast, available for walk up customers.
Very comfortable bed, excellent sofa bed for children, buffet breakfast, pool and mini golf. Location also very good - walking distance to Amboise centre
the room was nice.
The hotel staff were awesome, the breakfast was good, and the room was roomy, clean, and comfortable. The location is about a 20 minute walk (mostly uphill) from town and taxis are scarce or nonexistent.
Nice clean modern hotel Cost of drinks very dear in comparison to Ireland
The food and bar operations were poorly run with a very disappointing product
A bit off center with a nice view of the Amboise castle. Very friendly and helpful staff. We spent one week there and enjoyed the region and hotel so much that we'll return next year. The swimming pool should be heated up
Very familiar. Very well equiped. Staff very friendly. Very good breakfeast.
The chlidren liked the pool, the rooms were clean and comfrotable
Views and proximity to Amboise. Helpful staff None
Beautiful setting no
Air conditioning in room - wifi in room - trolley for luggage
clean and very friendly , helpful staff
Good base for the region.
The Hotel was lovely and the restaurant was excellent. The evening receptionist although very busy was charming and very helpful. Great location.
Interesting decor, excellent restaurant and a forest adventure park next door with slides and high wires through the trees. Excellent location for visiting the Chateaux ofthe LoireValley
Quaint and fine old French building. Staff helpful and facilities faily good. Restaurant reasonable price and good quality. Fairly central for visiting the Loire region. No elevator. Not much to do in Mosne where the hotel is situated. Rooms in the attic dark and hot - poor air conditioning.
It was clean. Very strange place. More like a business hotel. Modern make over of a manor house, which ruins any character. Every room had been decorated as a different country. Our's was "Kenya" - and it was boiling hot - so hot couldn't sleep. Also there were bars on the windows and the fire doors were locked. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
convenient parking, quick and easy booking in, maps of Tours noisy room (railway behind). Room needs updating. Can't have shower without soaking floor. room carpet dirty and stained - needs replacing. Smell of cigarette smoke in coridoor.WiFi didn't work. Personal message in envelope left on bed was stained.
New hotel well appointed with clean comfortable rooms, small bar open till late, staff spoke good English, well appointed breakfast room and facilities. Car parking was charged.
Convenient parking. Reasonable value. A bit away from the old town.
Excellent, near train station if that is useful. Very good sized room.
Excellent breakfast and easy car parking. The hotel was at a fixed temperature. It was hard to cool the room because if you opened the window it was very noisy as the train station is very close to the hotel.
The hotel was comfortable, close to the train station, and within walking distance to the heart of Tours. Breakfast was very expensive.
The location was sublime as we could see Amboise Castle from our room and could walk to many little shops and restaurants in the town of Amboise, including Leonardo DaVinci's home and final resting place at the Castle.
well appointed rooms restaurant v. expensive
location was good, the city and countryside great. the resturant was impressive--dinner was expensive but worth it and the service was very good. the breakfast was also very good. our room was in the old part of the hotel and was just ok. it needs to be updated. the walls between rooms are not very insulated for noise and made for a long night.
Lovely room overlooking the river. Bags carried by reception. Prepared wine beautifully for social occasion. Dressing gowns and slippers great for relaxing and comfort. Pleasant staff. Cuisine superb. One reception staff outstanding for help and friendly approach. Bed very comfortable. One reception staff was rather aloof and business like. I felt I would have been treated in a more friendly manner if I had driven up in an expensive car. Need option of vegetables with meals....bunch of rocket for $7 bit steep even if the dressing was excellent.
Size of room No outward views
Great staff. Perfect location for visiting chateaus in Loire Valley (1/2 hour or less to Chenonceau, Chambord, Chiverny). Right next to Amboise Chateau. Wonderful restaurant. No elevator, though desk attendant insisted on carrying all luggage up several flights of stairs when we checked in.
Room was extremely quiet and comfortable; staff was very professional and helpful; convenient walk to town; The food in restaurant was excellent quality but very expensive.
first impression of room not that great after Les Artes however beds, bathroom and size was very good. The 36 restaurant was incredible. The only thing was the hairdryer needs to be upgraded.
the location and the views from our room the restaurant was very expensive
T ,he room was huge and the atmosphere was lovely. The restaurant is one of the best we have ever eaten at. You can walk from the hotel to a lot of places (Chateau, weekly market, Loire River, restaurants) Everyone there was very friendly. Nice grounds Although there is wireless there is not a computer available if you do not have your own. This made communication home difficult
Staff could not do enough and cuisine great although as only a set menu perhaps not everyones 1st choice but will definitely be returning in the future Having to leave
Beautiful, large rooms with lovely furnishings. Comfortable bed with very nice linens. Large bathroom with updated fixtures like double sinks, separate bathtub and shower.
The location in the center of Amboise was ideal, the hotel was very comfortable and well appointed, bed linen was excellent - high level of attention to detail
Character of the hotel in this old castle. Buffet breakfast a bit expensive for array of choices.
We thought the setting was charming and very comfortable. The dinner we had was very good. We were disappointed it was as far from town as it was. We prefer to walk everywhere but we did drive into town each day.
Ambiente Old equipment
Too expensive for what was on offer.
Everything. Truly outstanding and memorable. Oustanding food, charming staff. Just perfect
The dining experience at the Chateau Seemed to be a lack of staff attentiveness since our last stay at the chateau 3 years ago.
The course dinner is excellent with decent service. The room is rather small.
Our visit was for just one night. But the hotel was quite and in a perfect country side location N/A
Very nice staff and very clean in a central location Sunday and Monday evenings very noisy outside the hotel due to the open air resteraunts outside, I had a hard time sleeping until 2 A.M. when it quieted down.
Location. Evening meal excellent though overpriced. Breakfast excellent and also overpriced. A very small lounge area inadequate when weather is not hot enough to be outside.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the chateau was beautiful
Beautifully maintained, comfortable and welcoming. Impressive location next to the castle and on the banks of the river. We will certainly return to spend more time with you and will also recommend you to our friends.
The room was absolutely fantastic (spacious, clean, confortable, quiet, etc.). The service was also amazing and the hotel delivers what it promisses. I strong recomend this hotel. The reception speaks a very good English and is ready to help the guests anytime. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed. Everything was perfect
The hotel location is good and staff are so kind and friendly. The room is excellent atmosphore. No restaurant for dinner. Breakfast is a bit expensive, 12 Euro, but basic.
location ,style hotel should have dinner
The staff are very nice and helpful. The room we had is way too small, especially for a 4-star hotel. The breakfast is very poor (you hardly have anything to choose from) and is not worth 12 euros at all.
our room and view were wonderful, so was the location the front desk attendant was a bit stuffy...but eventually warmed up.
Fabulous location, great views, wonderful staff
clean room with plenty of room and strong , consistent internet access
The reception was excellent and we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The gentleman who showed us to the room explained everything to us and made a dinner reservation at a very nice restaurant. We also liked the parking facilities with the gates being locked overnight. Breakfast was also very good. It was difficult to spot the entrance when arriving from the east and we had trouble getting back round to it. A good restaurant for dinner in the hotel would have been an added bonus.
everything a very relaxing break, hope to return, accommodation is fantastic, very friendly helpful staff we did not dislike anything but a restaurant would be nice.
Very helpful people - I arrived very late due to flight delays and instructions were very provided for me very clearly.
We loved Le Manoir St. Thomas and would definitely recommend it to friends. It was lovely, the staff was wonderful and the location was great.
The location was excellent, easy walking to the chateau, restaurants, shopping. Staff were very helpful and attentive, nice grounds to enjoy a glass of wine, The room was very comfortable and clean.
Location, location, location, with views of the Amboise Chateau and easy walking distance from the town Le Manoir Saint Thomas is perfectly located. There is safe parking in the grounds. The staff are delightful and the rooms nice. Bit pricey, but if you are happy to pay you will have a very nice stay.
The welcome, the staff, the tranquility so close to the heart of the town, the elegance of the building
The building and grounds are simply lovely. Our room was incredibly spacious, comfortable and well appointed with a large and luxurious bathroom. The desk workers were helpful, cordial, knowedgeable and spoke English fluently. We liked Alla in paricular, as she is simply charming. We had hoped to have dinner in their highly-recommended restaurant, but after September 30th it was no longer open.
Had a great room up top, overlooking the garden, comfortable and good bathroom all in a house built in the twelfth century. There was also a nice sitting room downstairs with open fireplace. The service was great, enthusiastic and helpful which added to our experience.
The manor is historic and very charming, but also has modern touches to make it comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was simple, but lovely.
Beautiful hotel very convenient to centre of Amboise. Style is of restored chateau so don't expect ultra modern facilities, but it fits in perfectly with the ambience of the Loire Valley. Residents' lounge delightful with free wifi. Staff very helpful. Breakfast OK. 170 Euro is perhaps a little overpriced and we have stayed in equally high standard accommodation in Amboise for a bit less. However, this is a minor complaint and we would certainly consider staying there again.
Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Accomodations were very comfortable and clean. Amenities were second to none.
Exquisite room in a private house, private gardens, owner extremely helpful, great breakfast
The common sitting room and the breakfast one took in it were both lovely. The grounds are also very well kept up, and the pool looked inviting. The location is excellent, well within walking distance of everything. The hostess is charming. We actually stayed longer for breakfast than we intended on our final day before leaving for Paris since it was so comfortable there, and we were engaged in wonderful conversation with another couple from the us. There is also convenient parking on the premises. This is a b&b with three apartments. The one we stayed in was really for one person: the double-bed, shower, toilet and sink were in one small room with a small frosted glass divider separating the bed from the toilet and sink. The shower was open to the room. It helps if you have to have lived together for 37 years, as we have, to agree to this set-up, and still give it the positive rating that I did. If you don't like showering or going to the toilet in front of someone don't stay in this room. We did see one of the other apartments and it was much larger and lovely. Our hostess did offer to let us look elsewhere in the city for another apartment when we arrived, but we were tired, it was late, and she was charming and the rest of the b&b was very comfortable, so we stayed.
friendly proprietor who took trouble to ensure we were comfortable, swimming pool to ourselves, very nice large room, good breakfast, convenient location It was quite pricey even allowing for unfavourable £:euro ratio
The owners had a nice balance of being nice and helpful, but not invasive. I felt as if I was at home. It was very relaxing and quiet. Having only 3 rooms is nice...there weren't too many people coming in and out so it was more private. They have a private courtyard in the back which was very pretty. I definitely recommend the hotel. The owners are very sweet people and very good hostesses. They didn't have central air but they had a fan. However, I found that none of the hotels I stayed in in Amboise, Saumur and Paris had central air so just be prepared.
This was the best stay during our entire trip to France. We would go back in an instant! The room was huge and magnificent with french doors to a beautiful garden with a swimming pool. The bathroom was more or a spa with a tub, shower with numerous jets, two sinks, and private toilet. Big beautiful towels and bathrobes were set out for us. The petit dejeuner was beautifully presented and our hostess was absolutely divine. As a bonus we had a private parking spot in a garage. We couldn't ask for anything more! Everything was wonderful.
