Good restaurant, Good size clean rooms, Late Breakfast starts at 7am
Hotel is accessible most hours ,stakff very good.
Beautiful building and very comfortable room.Nice staff Everything was good for us
offensive language It smelled throughout the hotel. Mainly old stale odours. The paint scheme was funerial and oppressive. It did nothing for the beauty of the building - I think you are missing a trick here..
Staff was very accomodating and restaurant was quite good
The hotel was very pleasant and the staff very helpful and welcoming. The air conditioning was also very welcome! The restaurant was poor - we had salmon which was not cooked properly and there were no apologies offered. Also rooms did not have hair driers / irons although they were available from reception.
Quiet location, easy to find. Modern hotel in traditional village. Offroad carparking. Restaurant with good food and continental breakfast. Lots of steps to room.
We were made to feel very welcome by the staff. The room was very comfortable and we could not hear the other guests. The breakfast was good and fairly substantial.
This hotel has nothing to reccomend it other than the view of the golf course. The room was laughingly described as a 'comfort room'. It was not clean and was poorly furnished. The carpet edges were not vacuumed and there was litter behind the set of drawers. Beneath the single pillowcase the pillow was filthy. The shower was black with mould and the glass and tiles were thick with grime. I could go on....... We stayed in eight good hotels on this holiday but this was one foul.
Salies de Bearne The hotel room was very basic, even down to no hooks to hang your wet towels. The standard of cleanliness could of been better. The majority of the rooms are south facing, and as a result are overly hot. A sun canopy should be standard.
Beautiful location wonderful views No shower curtain in triple room always mopping up no hospitality tray no choice of beer
The hotel was lovely and in a beautiful spot, in fact we would have like to have stayed a few nights but our travels did not allow it. The receptionist was very charming and helpful.
The hotel is situated in a small village which has a small shop but no other amenities. The hotel was easy to find and we received a very warm welcome. Parking is very convenient behind the hotel. We decided to have our evening meal at the hotel which was excellent. The regional cooking was interesting and good quality. Breakfast was also good and we liked having this included in the price. Like other people who have provided a review, we appreciated the helpful advice from hotel staff on what the area offers.
The food was excellent and the owners very friendly which made up for the points below. It appeared to be in between summer and winter seasons and we were the only guests. I arrived tired and thirsty after a long hot drive and found the place locked and was unable to get a beer.
Welcoming staff, open and airy reception area with lots of room, pleasent garden with view of the hills, excellent food, Our room was a little cramped, the menu was a bit overpriced
beautiful location, excellent food, very pleasant and understanding staff.
staff were helpful we booked this hotel because the website said there was a pool. There was no pool, i would not have chosen to stay here had i known that as the hotel is in a remote area and we did not want to drive every day.
the hotel proprietor was very welcoming and charming, the room was nicely decorated, pretty and cosy.the evening meal was excellent and the pastry to die for! my only slight negative was the price of the wines which I thought were a bit on the high side
Situation and ambience
The helpful staff, swimming pool, delicious breakfast and dinner.
Although the restaurant was closed on the night we stayed. The owner of this beautifully converted chateau made us a delightful meal as we had been travelling all day. Small intimate hotel run by a husband and wife team that made us very welcome. Well worth a visit.
friendly owners, excellent food, beautiful rooms, very quiet a little bit out of town on the by pass
Everything was perfect - a wonderful place and wonderful value for money
The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The hotel had a swimming pool and a nice garden (and donkeys!). We had the set menu in the evening and food was fantastic. We only stayed one night but I would definitely go back, if only for the food.
Welcome was excellent we were sorry not being able to stay longer. Definitely a place to come back too. (Next time we will ask for a larger room!) Too little light and sebsequent some difficulty closing the external shades from the windows.
The nice staff, the garden and the pool. The animals. Noice traffic in room towards the road.
The charming owners were extremely helpful and welcoming. The accommodation was most attractive and comfortable.
Location very good. You get what you pay for.
The manager tried very hard to overcome the shortcomings by whizzing around and being very pleasant and helpful The room was too small and claustrophobic - lovely old building had been gutted and filled with plastic box type rooms
The helpful staff and food The negative selections above reflect the urgent need for the forthcoming rebuild of the hotel-clearly long overdue. The rooms, and we saw several, were very poor. When rebuilt, if the quality of staff is a marker, the hotel will be very satisfactory and can then be recommended
Excellent location; interesting town, excellent dinner, pleasant staff Poor room, poor towels
Very good food, if a bit expensive
Traditional French style. Good food. No hairdryer in room.
Receptionist when we arrived was particularly welcoming and helpful. food was good - very old historic town was most interesting and well cared for photos of the hotel did not show that it sits right on the pavement of a busy high street and the noise that generates. also there is piped American/British style music all day in this High Street which is only turned off when the Town Hall people go home!! 2. The outside of the hotel is over 300 years old-------but the inside has been 100 % gutted - and the man made furniture moved in along with low ceilings - all very clean and tidy - fine for the business man, but as far as we were concerned all character had been lost.
The restaurant was excellent! Our room was in an adjacent building on the second floor with no lift.
